Typical local dive casino I frequent it two or three times a month. My main complaint is that the machines are FILTHY! No one comes by to wipe off the ashes, spilled drinks and just plain nasty !!!! So, as far as the casino, I have no idea. I don't gamble and I haven't eaten at the restaurant. My review is concerning The Pit and music/line dancing. I've been coming here for almost a year on Wednesdays for line dancing with Vaquera Vikki. Mishawn is the waitresss who serves the Pit on Wednesdays. She is super efficient and kind when it comes to taking orders. If you come more than a couple times, she'll memorize your order and make you feel like a 'regular', which is a truly spectacular feeling. The dance floor in the Pit has been one of my favorites to line dance on. It's big enough that all the people who show up have space to get their boot scootin' boogie on. Vikki does a great job of making the crowd feel welcome, no matter the skill level. She makes sure each dancer can get past any steps that are confusing them. I wish there were more nights she could host line dancing because one night is just not enough. So this is my plea to Rail City to have Vikki do more nights :) read more

6pm Sunday On Hwy 80 have a blow out with our 5th Wheel. Took the first exit to find a large enough place to take a look. Rail City was right there. Security came out. Explained and Mark said, all good. Called Progressive Ins they sent Jason from T&M who arrived in 30 min. Changed flat but screw in other tire. Need to go to BigO in the am. Great guy! No RV places open that late so we went back to Security and explained our problem. They said we could stay in lot and even comped our food. What a great group. Prepare to be robbed if you go here. I put my 100 dollar bill in the machine. Leaned over to ask my husband something (he was across the aisle) and in the time span of less than 30 seconds someone hit cash out and took my ticket. Security saw them on surveillance, but they cashed out and went out the doors. I did not get up from my seat no literally leaned over and was distracted for less than 1 minute. I entered the casino going into The Ale House at 2:15pm on 12/31/2024 keno game 408 had just started I specifically asked the cashier make sure you call keno she assured me they would be in before the next game started she turned around walked a way from me from my recollection she made no attempt to call and make sure. Got my table the game ended waited. Approximately 10 mins later the game started no one came in I missed a $750+ jackpot when I became agitated a casino manager came in to calm me down telling me that's too bad but they are busy. That is not my problem I have been going in every week for the last 10 years I was lied too. If I would have been told different I would have walked over to the keno counter myself. I want to know why it is my fault when employees are asked by a paying customer for service. It sits right off the I-80 freeway on the Sparks/Reno border.They have closed one of their 2 restaurants. If you're an early bird & hungry, they don't serve food before 9 am. I am disappointed with this casino. Hopefully the new owners will make the necessary changes to bring this up to basic standards. 1) You can earn free slot play except MANY machines won't let you use the free play. Even then, you have to insert your own money first before you can use it. 2) disappointed with the buffet :( Currently open only on Monday and Tuesday and the entree food choices were very limited. Food that's supposed to be served hot wasn't exactly warm either. I did enjoy the honey bbq wings but also wasn't hot. 3) decent sized parking lot which does NOT get dirty with garbage everywhere, unlike Cal-Neva. 4) 1st world problems/whine: when they have live events, it makes it unbearable to sit in the Ale House because the music is too loud! Unfortunately this casino has lost its touch... the games are being updated to catch up with what the other casinos are doing: more lights, bigger and taller machines. The disappointing things I've noticed are how unhappy some of the staff look and how poor their knowledge is of the company they're working for! They had the old buffalo which I won some money on. They had other games I played, so I was not losing fast and getting bonuses as well. It is really dark inside as well and can be really smokey. For locals like me this is a nice homey place. Not glitzy. Great customer service. The ladies at the customer service desk are friendly and helpful and seem like they want to be there. The machines are a good mix of the ultra modern and the old age ones that I have played for years. Great give-aways and contests. Waitresses are easily available and have a good attitude. The sportsbook has qualified ticket writers and rarely any lines. I have been going there for a year and a half and havent tried the food in house because of covid so I cannot comment on that. Herbst had bankruptcy in 2009 affinity is its successor company. I feel rail city was more fun under affinity. Better customer service, better games. They put the fu in fun. Used to go play slots every week. But they let their slots break down without repairing them, giving less selection. Half the Buffalo gold machines in one section near the bathroom have buttons not working, or they don't take cash out tix from other machines, or they don't take cash.
