Original review: After researching nail salons for a couple of weeks, I decided to book with The Nail Salon. I scheduled my appointment through text and was asked to send a $20 deposit through Zelle, which I did during our conversation. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told I didn't actually have one scheduled. I showed the text messages and proof of the deposit transaction. She explained that because I didn't specifically tell her the payment had been sent, she didn't realize the deposit was from me and never added me to the schedule. At that point, I probably should have left, but since they weren't busy and I had already paid the deposit, I decided to continue with the appointment. The pedicure was honestly very relaxing, and the massage portion was excellent. Unfortunately, the manicure experience was much different. I requested a full set, showed a couple of inspiration photos, and trusted the tech to choose the best products. During the application process, I noticed the nails were crooked and mentioned it. I was told they would be fixed, but the final result still looked uneven and nothing like the inspiration photos. What made the experience more uncomfortable was that multiple times during the manicure, the misunderstanding about the appointment was brought up and framed as entirely my fault, with no acknowledgment of the communication issue on both sides. I'm admittedly not someone who likes confrontation, so after bringing up the crooked nails once, I stayed quiet, paid, tipped, and left. I left disappointed because I had really hoped to find a salon I could return to regularly. The pedicure itself was great, but between the appointment confusion, the interaction during the service, and the quality of the manicure, I unfortunately won't be returning. I'll now need to pay another nail tech to correct the set.

From the moment you walk in, everyone is polite, welcoming, and professional. The atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Emily, in particular, is amazing. She pays close attention to detail and really takes the time to learn exactly what her customers' toes, nails, and eyebrows need. Her work is precise, thoughtful, and consistently beautiful--you can tell she genuinely cares about her clients and her craft. While preparing my nails, he brought up again that he thought a full-color set would look better. Since I had already stated my preference, I felt a little uncomfortable being pushed toward a different option. Later, when it was time to apply the color, he asked, "Full now, right?" and I ended up agreeing because it felt like he was rushing through the appointment. I later realized I was his last customer of the day, which may have contributed to the experience. After I agreed to the full color, he proceeded to paint my nails but didn't clean up the polish around the edges or cuticle area. As a result, there was visible polish on my skin around several nails, which made the finished set look messy and unfinished. The service felt rushed overall. When applying the cuticle oil, he was standing and not really paying attention to where he was putting it, and the appointment ended with a quick instruction to wait a few minutes and then wash my hands. The nails turned out okay, but I left feeling like my original request wasn't really respected and that the service lacked attention to detail. I believe clients should feel comfortable getting the design they ask for without feeling pressured to change their minds, and I also expect the final result to be clean and polished.
