We needed help with repairing an underground gas pipe. It was challenging as the pipe was old. We had another plumber try to do the work first and they only made it worse - their explanation was that they only realized that it was an older type of a pipe after they tried to fix it and made it worse (not a good explanation but that's what they said). That experience was not a good one and made us worried if anyone knew what to do. Leo came the next day (on Saturday) and did a great job coupling the pipe together quickly and with a good quality. read more

It's been over 100 degrees for the past week and my AC died last night. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get someone out today but I called A1 and Dave was super responsive. He scheduled me between 2-5pm today. Claudio was the technician that was assigned to my address and he showed up around 1:30 but that was okay since my mom and I just got back from lunch. He checked my air filter and my unit on the roof and told me it's probably one of a couple different issues. Bad capacitor or motor. Claudio replaced the capacitor and that seemed to be the issue. He measured the air temp from the vent and showed me that the air was cooler coming out than in the room. I was ecstatic! The motor would have cost me a lot more to replace. I thought the price was fair considering how hot it's been lately and today being a Saturday. I would definitely use their services again. read more

They charged me $300 for the material cost of capacitor for my heating system plus $245 for the labor cost. Total $545 for replacing a capacitor. The capacitor actually only cost under $50, and so it's at least 6 times more they charged me on the materials cost of capacitor. Rip off. Be aware. read more

No show....... Communication with Dave was pleasant when I called him on a hot Saturday evening for a non working HVAC. I received confirmation for a Sunday from 11-2 pm. I was very impressed with the responsiveness. When Sunday 1:30 pm came around, I called for an ETA and found out they took an emergency call and was behind schedule. A few hours later, the technician called and told us he won't be coming and that our appt will need to be rescheduled. I contacted Dave to try to get someone out since they close 10 pm. This review is to make sure you are careful when you call these guys and it is costing me $95 to leave on here. Claudio is the nicest and most patient technician I've ever encountered. Friday night before the Labor Day weekend, I came home after work just to find out my central AC stopped working. I called a few places but most of them were closed or the calls just went to voicemail. I called NumberA One and Dave transferred my call to Claudio. Wanted to give a long overdue shout to Mike Madrigal with A-1. He was very helpful and informative back in January when we needed to replace the heating unit in our attic and again back in March when we needed to replace our rooftop AC unit. Both units have worked like a charm all year, but a completely separate electrical issue put our heating unit out of commission last night. I called Mike on his cell this morning and he answered right away and he helped me troubleshoot the issue.
