    Nummy Noodles
    Dwight C.

Stopped in for lunch on a lark and was really pleased with the entire experience. Great, chill music; welcoming hostess/waitress; clean everywhere. Had the pork and crab soup dumplings and Nummy noodle bowl. The dumplings were fresh, moist, and super flavorful. The soup had the right amount of heat, was filling, complex, and multi-layered. At only $24 including tip I'd call it an exceptional experience.

Very delicious spicy noodle bowl and is loaded with good quality ingredients. I highly recommend this Meta pot

This noodle house is a small business. It's been opening over 7 years. The foods are very diverse and good quality. If you like spicy food, try their mega pot noodle bowl. It's highly recommended Owner is trying to serve each table on her own, it makes dining experience very personal and pleasant

    Nummy Noodles w/ Egg

I've been wanting to try Nummy for a while, and now I'm kicking myself for waiting so long! I recently went with a friend for a lunch on a Saturday, and they were pretty busy. The menu is simple with a focus on customization through a variety of add-ons. I decided to go with the Nummy Noodles, which felt like the perfect choice on a chilly new England day- a warm, comforting bowl of yummy food. The dish was tasty, and I opted to add an egg for an extra touch. The service was friendly and fast. I snapped a picture of my meal and sent it to my boyfriend, who insisted I grab some for him too. I ordered the Nummy Noodles to go, and the packaging was impressive, with the broth kept separate from the noodles. He enjoyed it as much as I did and made it clear that we will definitely be back to Nummy.

This place is absolutely amazing. You can tell it's authentic just from the way everything tastes. We drove 45 minutes to come here and we will keep coming. The soup dumplings alone are worth the trip. The only constructive criticism we might give it just to add a little more meat into the bao bun and it's a hit! You have to try this place out. Fantastic food and for a great price.

    Bam Bam Noodles

I always pass this place since it's down the street from A Dong. I got to try it last night with some friends, and I enjoyed it. I got the Bam Bam Noodles which I guess are Nummy's version of dan dan noodles, and I added tofu skin and wood ear because I felt it would be too plain if I was just eating noodles with pork. I liked the texture and taste of the noodles and pork a lot. I got spicy and it was an enjoyable level of spice; I probably could've eaten extra spicy just fine if I wanted to. The toppings, themselves, were good, but I think next time I would opt for something else like an egg instead. I also got the Lychee of My Eye drink, and it tasted like they just poured the lychee jelly with the juice from the jar into my cup so it was good but not worth the price if you're expecting something homemade. One of my friends got the Mrs. Peanut, which I shared, and I thought that was yummy, too. It was opposite vibes from my Bam Bam Noodles and was creamier and more refreshing. We ate it with a Chinese fried dough stick, and it was a good combo.

    Eel on rice

I am not into Asian fusion typically, I find that they often lose focus, the side effect of blending often means nothing really well. However, Nummy is an exception, the Eel on rice (Una don) uses a whole piece of eel instead of multiple sushi sized eel pieces. This is a Japanese dish Una don, yet the Nummy version is more delicious than any of the Japanese Una don I've had in CT. The minced meat part of the dish is a Taiwanese touch, it's very flavorful & forms perfect fusion with the eel, well done! The serving size is small, comes in a 6" bowl, so you'll really need an appetizer to make up the mass. I had the soup dumpling appetizer, it's also very good, less fatty than typical Chinese version, & I could taste the crab roe flavor in it. Interestingly, I heard that the owner is Indian & the Chef ‍ Cantonese, yet together they created a perfect fusion dish between Japanese & Taiwanese, amazing!

Mr Peanut with chicken and corn

Reheated chicken that tastes reheated. Canned corn added for $3. Sticky overcooked noodles these don't seem like udon. Bland flavor almost too sweet to my liking. Sauce tastes like it's from a bottle vs homemade. Service was a bit slow and not very friendly.

A solid hot pot with good flavor but lacking depth. Not bad if you never had a hot pot. I was in the area after a very frigid morning. Needed some soup to warm us up, so we opted to go to Nummy's after some quick yelp searching. The place is easy enough to find, lots of signage and right on the corner of a small shopping area. When I came in, there was only two people in the shop. Cashier and cook, who were both working on orders when I came in. After a 5 minute wait we managed to get menus and after another 5 minutes the server came by to take our order. We didn't have a consensus on what toppings we wanted, so we opted for the mega bowl which included them all. We also got some pork steamed buns, just to give them a try. Food took a little while to get to us, about 20 minutes or so to start getting food over to us. But we took pictures and dug in. The steam buns were a little underwhelming. They didn't have enough filling to offset the amount of bread in the bun. The filling had a decent spicy pork flavor, but there wasn't enough to get a bite of filling with each bite of the bun. Which ended up leading to a lot of pure bread bites The mega bowl we ordered medium, and it actually had a reasonable amount of spice to it. Not enough to make it inedible, but enough to add a zing to the dish. As a man who enjoys his spice, this was just the right amount for rapid consumption. The mega bowl didn't have beef or chicken, which was a disappointment. it did have a small amount of each add-in for the bowl, so most of it was there. However, for the price I did feel like we were short changed on what we did end up getting. The highlights for the soup, the broth had a good flavor but needed some salt to help combat the hot oil put into the dish. The mini sausages were tasty, and the egg was hard boiled in soy sauce, which imparted a salty soy flavor into the egg. Not a fan of wood ear mushrooms, nor fish balls. the texture for both was very firm and spongy but didn't pick up any of the flavors of the broth. there wasn't a lot of noodles in this dish either, which if you were to get extra noodles then I would expect a little more. Overall, it's a solid hot pot and there was some components that were good. but the price, the portion, and the lack of staffing does drive the score down a little bit. it's not bad, but I did have a little bit of a lacking experience.

Pork Buns (Steamed) and Gyoza (Pork)

Numerous times, I thought about ordering from West Hartford's Nummy restaurant through DoorDash, but for no particular reason, I didn't. I'm glad my first Nummy meal was actually at Nummy recently, because it's a lovely restaurant, with a terrific presentation of their dishes, that makes the experience special. Since Nummy is on the end of a long building, the dining area has two sides of windows that allow substantial natural lighting in the day. When you enter, you see different shapes, textures and angles of wood on tables, walls and accents. The inside also features high ceilings and brick walls. Because I had ramen the day before, I strayed from the noodle section of the menu and ordered soup dumplings, steamed pork buns and gyoza. Before any of the food arrived, I was presented with a cool light-colored wooden tray, a rounded black bowl, a smaller black bowl of sauce for the dim sum, a black soup spoon and black chopsticks. It looked very elegant. The dim sum arrived in bamboo steamer baskets. Steam escaped as I lifted the lid. I was very happy to witness this at Nummy, because takeout cannot capture this experience. I have fond memories of eating soup dumplings with friends at Joe's Shanghai in Manhattan's Chinatown. I scooped the dumpling onto the large soup spoon, poked a hole with the chopstick to release some of the hot soup and then enjoyed the savory pork and crab soup mixture with the awesome texture of the dumpling. It's tasty, and the experience connected me with friends and family who I've shared soup dumplings with. The pork gyoza and pork bun were also very good. The pork bun is kind of like sticky and moist, but set dough, filled with sweet BBQ pork. Gyoza is similar to large tortellini, but the filling has an Asian flavor and texture profile. I loved the meal and the experience. I highly recommend eating at Nummy. Five Stars

WHAT A GEM This place has such satisfying bowls of noodles. I got the little pot extra spicy with beef. Definitely get the beef and extra spicy. The beef was so tender and full of flavor If I'm ever back in the area, I would get the little pot again but with the Taiwanese flour noodles. The Korean noodles are good too but I prefer the flour ones The soup was full of flavor and had a nice little kick. I loved the fried shallots and all the other things in the soup. All of ingredients blended well together. Definitely do not sleep on this place

These guys are the absolute best! When I asked them if they could deliver a dessert that they didn't even have on the delivery app, they were kind enough to send me one. THEY ARE AWESOME! And the fooood is AMAZINGGGGGG. my goto place any day.

A gem in the area. They have some really good noodle dishes here. The broth for the little pot was my favorite. They let you customize the spice level. I'm not too good with spice, but I wanted to try the mild. It was perfect. It wasn't crazy spicy like how other place to do it. They let you customize the toppings too, which I really liked. The portion sizes are great as well. Coming here on a Sunday night we were seated immediately. We didn't have to wait too long to get our food. I think any of the broth noodle dishes are plentiful but the appetizers are worth a try as well!

So happy we found this little gem! Will definitely be returning. The space was smallish but bright because of the windows. Everything we tried was delish, starting with the vegetarian gyoza - yummy steamed green dumplings which did not disappoint! I ordered the Little Pot (soup) because I love the chewy texture of sweet potato noodles. I was a little nervous about the dried tofu skin and wood ear, but ordered as is. No regrets!! I'm not a fan of tofu, but the tofu skin had an interesting texture which I liked and a mild flavor. The wood ear also -- this funny looking mushroom was thin, a little chewy and mild. But I think I enjoyed this soup as much for the interesting textures as the variety of flavors. (Probably would order a different meat next time instead of the minced pork, maybe chicken.) My sister ordered the sticky black sesame rice balls -- a VERY strange experience the first time you try them!! But a delicious dessert! The outside is really chewy and sticky, but as you bite into it and reach the center, it's filled with a sugary sweet paste (?) made from black sesame seeds. Unusual? Yes. But I'd definitely order them again! And you'll be happy if you finish off your meal with a tasty chai tea packed full of zesty spices! Oh! I almost forgot the seaweed salad! Tangy with nice sesame flavor and crunchy seaweed. Always one of my favs!! Don't be put off by the name, it's fabulous!!

I walked into a space where the owners were warm and engaged in a way that came through consistently, and the restaurant had the feel of a place run with real investment in what comes out of the kitchen. The pho is the centerpiece and it earns that position. I tried the broth, which was light and clean, built with depth rather than heaviness, and the beef was tender throughout. The short rib and oxtail versions are the ones to order when available, and the brisket is the reliable fallback when they are not. The rare steak and tendon option is worth trying for anyone who wants to go further into the menu. I also ordered the pork vermicelli bowl, another strong choice, with well seasoned pork and fresh vegetables that held up against the noodle base. It came with a spring roll component that added to the overall value of the dish. The banh mi was flavorful and well assembled, and the fresh rolls were worth ordering alongside whatever else I got. Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai tea were both solid and complemented the food well. Service was friendly, and the owners were visibly present and genuinely hospitable. The restaurant accommodates families well, with the kitchen going out of its way on small details like kid friendly utensils and high chairs that make the experience easier for parents. For Vietnamese food in this part of Connecticut, it is the kind of spot worth going out of my way for.
