While the Nutella cafe has its good share of choices to pick from. It's also trying to be too classy or exclusive if you will. While there's plenty of room to wait and inside seating, I was basically told to wait in line outside. It's Chicago, of course it's cold outside. But I was there to meet friends which I had clearly seen through the window and was ready to head to the table with them, but the "hostess" at the door stopped me and I didn't want to be rude. Ordering is somewhat easy, but you get a tracker for your order which can make it easy or difficult to get your food. It's not a buzzer where it rings and you go get your food, they bring the food to you which sometimes you see some of the servers walking around lost with plates in their hands. End result: food is good, place is stylish, but it's trying too hard to be exclusive and fancy like. Sometimes keeping it simple just does the trick. read more

This place is cute and yummy! My sister and I did have to wait about 10 minutes in line to order, but that wasn't a problem. We both got the strawberry and nutella crepe and it was delicious. Once we ordered, we were lucky enough to find seats because it was a little crowded. The server gave us a number and we sat down. Our food came in about 10-15 minutes. The food is good, it's a cool novelty, and the staff is excellent. As others have noted, my only complaint is the wait; we waited for close to an hour between the outside line, the inside line, and for the food to come to our table. This is a new store, so hopefully they will find ways to cut down on the line. For example, there was only one cashier taking orders despite the long line. I had high expectations for this place and I was disappointed. The food was absurdly expensive for what you got and the quality was just okay. The service was also terrible as me and some friends just finished eating and were told by a worker that there were a lot of people coming in implying we needed to leave. She was also cleaning the table right in front of us trying to get us to leave. Along with this she was passive aggressive and told another group to sit across from us to try and get us to leave. Absolutely not worth it. First, we waited in a horrendously long line. Once we got closer, I noticed the seating situation. There were 3 or 4 empty tables, 2 had not been bussed. Once inside, same thing. Super long lines and for what?? When we did finally sit down, we had to bus our own table after about 10 minutes. And there were no chairs because people had used the ones from tables to add to their own. So once we were finally seated, we waited about 20 minutes before asking why our food hadn't arrived after seeing people get their food that had sat down after us. My husband went to ask and was told that it was already there, which he then had to argue that it wasn't. Then they found our order sitting there cold. Food was mediocre at best and very small, overpriced portions (as any touristy place would be.) The only reason I am giving this a 2 Star and not 1 is because the manager did give us a $6 coupon for the next visit to try and make the food mixup right. Unfortunately, I will not use. The place looks great! The decorations and design were fitting. But as far as quality of food.... I was not impressed. I was so excited that they opened this establishment up but when I got my banana & Nutella crepe, it looked bland. The taste fit the look. I could of made it at home. I also ordered the mocha cookies and they were good but nothing to rave over. Plus the staff was plain except one lady I saw. Nutella I would assume would have up beat people and more of a kid like excitement to them. This place is not very good. All the hype is for nothing. Waited outside in line for about 40 minutes. We did get our order pretty quickly though. Ordered a Nutella and banana crepe and an iced Nutella latte. The Nutella Crepe didn't not look visually pleasing. Nothing fancy. The crepe Itself did not looked cooked all the way. Was great if your a die hard Nutella fan. Was beyond difficult finding parking anywhere, I was dropped off to go stand in line. There was a security guard outside, super nice, who had me form a line outside until some people exited from inside. Then I had to stand in another line inside. Very cute place, wish it had way more seating though. Once I ordered and found a place to sit (about an hour total) my family found parking and joined me. Everything we ordered was good. For the worlds first Nutella café you would figure this place would be bigger. Not too much room... I ordered what I think is their only pasta on their menu but it was very bland, no sauce just had peas. The iced mocha latte was OK. Their crepes are tasty. Walked into the cafe this morning to find a quick yummy breakfast before my flight to Seattle! A little overwhelmed with the menu but Isaiah amongst other employees here were super helpful with suggestions! You could really tell they love the food here! I got the baguette & im glad they suggested it was for 2 people cause I had to take this to go to my aunt! I also got the waffle with the strawberries! Yum!!! Sadly, the staff only found the courage to tell the 20 of us waiting in line that they were closed 15 minutes AFTER closing time; we had been in line for at least 35 minutes by then. The line is clearly visible to the staff, however the manager made no apology. We did finally see the menu which was disappointing. It was not worth it at all. 45 minutes line outside and 10 minutes inside and when you order there is no seat. There were two bathroom which one of the was out of order and there was a 10 minutes line for the other one. Bathroom didn't have any soup and there were dirty flys all over the plates. There were no seats available and when we actually got one. Their tables are literally kids size! We were not done with our food when the worker came and got our empty plate and just said we have to leave... honestly do not even try it because you will waste you money like ours.
