Went there for for takeout, We ordered 30 On the bone or Traditional Wings and 10 boneless wings. (which we made very clear to have the 10 Boneless) When the food came out we got ALL boneless wings, the gentleman who came out was very nice and understanding. He was willing to go back and fix the order. 2 minutes later the gentleman named Troy who took our order came out yelling at us and made us scared to even step out of the car. Saying that we ordered all of them off the bone. He told us that we could either take all of the wings as is Or we would get our money back for the Wings and take the rest of the food we ordered. Stopped in on Sunday night for the first time. I sat at the bar, and the bartender immediately greeted me, and gave me a menu. Not pushy, but attentive and friendly service. Sitting at the bar the TV's were tuned to football and all the staff had on their favorite team t shirts. This being my first time, I ordered only a burger . It arrived quickly, and to order. It was juicy and a nice size. The side salad was real green arugula and romaine, red onion, tomato and Greek olives. For $9.95 it was a bargain. While I was there the cook brought out a fresh mozzarella and tomato appetizer to a regular patron. It looked delicious. Very disappointed today! I've been there before and the set up has always been bad if you are trying to watch a football game bc it's a sports bar. Today I went to watch the Bears game and have tons of food and drink a few drinks I was gonna meet 5 other people...they told me I was not able to watch the game in the bar area and I needed to sit in the dinning area which I was ok with bc they would switch one of the 4 TVs to my game and there was only 1 other party there. After The bartender told me she would let me sit and watch a game after a 15 minute wait they (I assume was the manager) told me that they were not allowed to change any TV channels and the only other option was to leave....I left and went to the sports bar down the road instead which was a lot more accommodating. Nope. Never again. Went there with another couple as a matter of convenience before a show at the Paramount. Ordered two "sampler" platters as an appetizer, which consisted of a bunch of frozen deep-fried Sam's club snacks dumped on top of a mound of french fries. Pretty uninspired. My entree was less than satisfactory. The "Angry Chicken" sandwich, which was advertised as a spicy chicken sandwich. It consisted of a few paper-thin slices of fried chicken cutlet, dyed a bright and unappetizing fire-engine red, with some sliced pickled Jalapeños dumped on top. For $18, maybe my expectations were too high. Not cheap, either. Dinner for four, with a couple of drinks and tip, was $200. Service was okay, but food is totally forgettable. This place is absolutely amazing. Anytime I am in the Peekskill/cortlandt Manor area, I try to stop by here for their wings which are some of the best I've had. I did not want to give them one star because overall the food was good however my husband and I were here visiting family so we stopped in on a Tuesday night, the bar was a little crowded due to some sort of game they had going on. The bartender was not attentive at all, every time I looked up she was on her phone and having side conversations. There was a young lady with some sort of twist in her hair and had it not been for her we would have not known we even existed she was ripping and running making sure we were okay and was very prompt with clearing our table off. I sure hope you all work on your service going forward because while we're aware a bar can get hectic you should still should have some consideration for a paying customer!! read more

Whenever I've had a bad experience at a restaurant, I try to give it the benefit of the doubt and then give it another try at some point. That's what happened here. A few years ago we went here for wings and beer. The wings were utterly tasteless, and we had tried a few different flavors. We went again today, and, unfortunately, same thing. Our table ordered three different flavors of wings. All of them severely lacking in flavor, from hot wings to sweet ones. Other gripes: -Our child's slider burgers came out medium rare, closer to rare. We sent them back to be cooked more. When they were brought out again, the side dish was missing. Everything was rectified, but when you're dealing with a hungry little kid who has no food while everyone else has their meals... -The dining room was really chilly. The tables by windows are uncomfortably cold. Most everyone in the dining room had their coats on. -Service started out OK but then was slow at times (mostly in trying to get my check), although the waitress was very attentive in regard to drinks. I really wanted to like this place. The menu is quite big with lots of interesting-sounding items, but after two bad experiences, unfortunately I won't be going back again to give them a try. read more

Great place for a filling and very tasty Saturday afternoon lunch. My uncle and I went to Firehouse after visiting my father, a retired NYC fireman, and the place did right by its name. We were greeted by Mike who was really friendly and made sure we had plenty to eat and drink. After a few minutes of chatting, we went for a full rack of ribs and The Wolverine. The ribs were nicely done and brought the fine aroma of smoke with them to the table. The Wolverine is a good guy sandwich with the variety of things it contains---buffalo chicken, mac and cheese, and bacon to name a few---and we enjoyed making our halves disappear after the ribs. I'm looking forward to returning to Firehouse for wings next time. If I lived closer than two hours away, it would definitely be a regular place. read more

I cannot understand the good reviews here? I am frequently in the peekskill area for business, and had gone to the firehouse grill (from recommendation from a client) a few times over the years and it was decent. Well apparently they had a change in ownership- and I can say without hesitation, I have had my two worst dining experiences ever at this establishment. First visit: First off, you know you're not coming here for a fine dining experience...just your basic fare so it's not as if I set some outlandish level of expectations. Saw the whole place was redone since my last visit = good. We were seated at the bar area. We were handed our menus and the waiter quickly returned to the bar. The bar was only moderately crowded at best. The bartender and waiter were busy chatting ( flirting?) with the patrons- about 15 mins. later (and us waiving him down) he came back and took our drink orders. Ok- new at the business perhaps. Our drinks were quickly delivered. I ordered a bloody Mary and it was pink. Not a trace of red. OK- not good. A very simple drink made wrong. I politely explained the issue to the waiter and asked for it to be replaced with a soda (if you cant get a bloody mary right, you're probably not going to get any other drink right either). He seemed apologetic and we had a laugh about it. We got right down to ordering at this point, my friend and I ordered a philly cheese steak type sandwich and an appetizer "variety" platter. 30 mins. go by= no food. 40 mins= no food. Now we have been here for over an hour and only basically received a soda...and the waiter was clearly busy hanging out at the bar and could care less about the dining patrons. (The table next to us was also grumbling about it as well...that and the bar folks getting drunk and swearing in front of people clearly with families.). I got up and went to the bar and asked how much longer would it be- still being nice of course. The waiter said he was so sorry and went to check with the kitchen. He came *right* back out with the sandwiches..(uh...how long were they ready sitting back there??) when I asked about our appetizer- he looked perplexed and offered an "uh-oh". We told him to scrap it...we had to get going. The cheese steak was horrible. And had to ask the waiter to remove the charge for the so-called bloody mary. The end. Decided to give it the old "college try" and went back a second time. Coughing up the first experience to being new and working out the bugs. This time we asked to sit in the dining room versus the bar area (seriously, I didn't need to here drunken folks cursing up a storm...and I am no prude by far...or old (wink)). We ordered nachos, I had a Ruben and my friend had chicken wings. He also ordered a "to-go" order of tacos for his daughter. This was a first....and still leaves a horrible impression in my mind. The nachos were delivered and unbeknownst to us, they put a wax paper type material underneath the nachos. I guess between the heat of the meat and grease etc- the paper became melded to the nachos. It was only detectable after my friend quickly shouted "wholly crap, there's paper in the cheese!!!" We called the waiter over who offered no solid explanation. I have never seen this anywhere before. Gross!!!! How much of that crap did we eat?!?!?! Again, we waited an outlandishly long time for the sandwich and wings to be delivered. Ruben= horrible. Not worth the wait. My friend did say his wings were decent- in par with what you would get anywhere else. Now this is the straw that broke the camels back; we were ready to get going and my friend asked for the bill as well as the status of his "to-go" order. The waiter says, "Oh, sorry, we cant make the tacos to go, its an in house special" or something of that nature. We were here for an hour and you only tell us when we are asking for the check? Wow. I would say if you are a 20-something year old and you're into "hanging out at bars", and munching on some wings while doing so...this place could be for you. For families, if you're hungry or are looking for a simple "going to catch a quick bite" this is not your place. The service is painfully awful, only outdone by the food. I have since found the Quite Man in Peekskill that makes a great drinks, has decent food and a more mature clientele. Sorry firehouse....I tried to like you. read more

Looking to celebrate a family milestone in a place other than an Italian restaurant (we love Italian food but it was time for something different), we opted for the NY Firehouse Grille, which others in the party had already enjoyed. This rustic-type establishment has a very friendly, warm atmosphere in which waitresses actually seem to love their jobs. We were there quite early--3:45--so it is not surprising that we were the only patrons, save for a couple of guys at the long, inviting bar, which was flanked by old video arcade machines as well as a zillion empty bottles of beer. Speaking of beer, we agreed that this place has a superb array of lagers and ales: wheat and white ales, brown ales and stouts, Irish red, India pale ales, etc. For an appetizer, we ordered the really, really, really hot (Haz-Mat) buffalo chicken wings, which produced quite the sweat. Most of our group ordered the full- or half-rack "Famous St. Louis [pork] Ribs," which were slathered in BBQ sauce and served over curly fries with house slaw and cornbread. The full-rack order was huge--enough for a whole other meal. Not wanting to ruin my record of never having eaten pork (ok. I'm a hypocrite and will admit to having eaten bacon from time to time), I ordered the NY strip steak, which included delicious mashed potatoes and a side of creamed spinach--not my green veggie of choice. I pushed it aside and hoped it didn't contaminate the potatoes. Wouldn't make a special trip from Massachusetts to visit this place, but it's a nice change from the home-style Italian joints we have frequented in the Yorktown Heights/Peekskill area. read more

I'm not much for reviews; reading or writing them. I feel that every (one) place deserves at least one unbiased shot. So don't consider this a review but more of a thank you note I'd like to share. From day one Alex and Niki fostered an atmosphere of friendship. The minute you walk in you're greeted and usually with a smile. Even when it's crazy in there, aka football season. Last year, we threw our baby boy his first birthday party. Like his dad he too loves the fire service so we threw him a FD themed party. We turned to Alex for the catering because it just made sense since they already had the fire theme locked down. Plus the fact that I love their wings. Alex delivered and set everything up on time and without a hitch. He even threw in a box of plastic helmets for the kids. Everyone went nuts for the sliders and kept asking where the food was from. Whether we're dining-in, taking-out, or catering-up these guys do their best to make sure you have the best experience possible. So to Alex and Niki, thank you for always being awesome. If you have ever seen the show restaurant rescue this is a place that belongs on that show. The place was dark and full of flies. The wait staff on the restaurant side must have been having a bad day because the service was scarce. As for the food the specials had a chicken parm which turned out to be chicken tenders with marinara sauce with mozzarella on a bun. We tried 3 different flavor wings, meat loaf, pig skins, Irish Nachos, Mac N cheese with fries and some drinks. Wings are nice size and flavorful, meatloaf was incredible - like no other, pig skins are tasty - made fresh from small potatoes, Nachos also made fresh - yum, Mac N cheese was the best I've every had - i hope they never change it, the fries - seasoned to perfection. I'm never going back nor recommending anyone to go here. They in no way were professional or made my friends and i feel welcomed. From the moment we tried parking we had an encounter with this smart ass guy who decided he just wanted to be an asshole over parking. Then it turns out the guy works there. My group an i tried to put it behind us and enjoy the night. So i go in with my party of 6. We didn't even get a hello, they just push us to the bar. So we sit at the bar and start drinking. An you know when u walk into a place and get those awkward stares, that's how it was there. Then the bartender starts opening beers with an ice scoop and makes the ice fly onto my friend. Then when my friend shows some annoyance, he then with an attitude says "its just ice." At that point we start drinking fast so we can go. He then openes another beer same way, an the same thing happens....again. He dosent even say sorry or open the beer in a different direction or beter yet open it with a fucking bottle opener. As new residents to Peekskill, my husband and I have been searching for a great place to kick back and enjoy awesome foods... Firehouse Grill is our Go-To place! The atmosphere is great with a split restaurant and bar area. So, whether or not you go with family (and kids) or just a typical hang out night with some friends, this venue seems to do quite well catering to such needs and clientele. They have specials pretty much every day and they are all equally delicious. In addition, they have a wide variety of beers on tap. As for service, are all really friendly and are attentive so definitely no issues there. Ask for Lauren. :) On our recent visits including tonight's (7-26-13), we've had the... 1. AAA sampler appetizer (succulent chicken tenders, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, and a mountain of fries). The appetizer is usually good for about 2-4 people depending on your appetite. It's a nice starter. On their yelp pics, someone called it "disgusting." In defense of this venue and as a regular customer, that person is wrong. In their pic, the food was in a metal tin so most likely it was a take out order. Grant it, not everything is going to be great as take out but I would recommend eating it there for freshness and better-assured quality. Who knows how long that person let it sit before eating. If you are going to insist on eating fried foods as take out, go to KFC or a fast food chain. 2. Chicken Wings (check out their menu for a full list of fabulous flavors): Firehouse Grill gives you a huge list of flavors and choices between boneless, ten wings (code ten - 1 flavor), twenty wings (code twenty - 2 flavors), and thirty wings (code thirty - 3 flavors). My personal favorites are the garlic parmesan because THEY DO NOT PLAY... These wings are doused in freshly chopped garlic in a seasoned oil. MOUTH-WATERING GOOD if you are a garlic fan like me. I have also had the bourbon (ok on flavor but not heavy), honey bbq (sweet and tangy with a hint of bbq-esque smokiness), and dusty ranch (seems like a nice dry rub without being too overpowering). I highly recommend anyone who likes wings to just pick a flavor or two and try them there. For price, the wings are a decent size, NOT overcooked, very juicy, and well seasoned. Also, if you like heat or want to try heat for the first time, they have a very nice selection of spicy hot wings and combo flavors to the point of extreme, which they call "Waiver wings;" sooo hot that you really do have to sign a waiver. 3. Avocado Salad (Special item - Fresh crisp salad of mixed greens with perfectly cooked grilled chicken, avocado slices, tomato, and cucumber with a beyond amazing avocado dressing): I cannot stress how good their avocado dressing is... It kind of reminds me of a creamy avocado cilantro aioli that tastes great on anything they serve. I order a side of it any time we go. In addition, as a huge foodie, considering Firehouse Grill is a restaurant/bar, this place knows how to grill chicken perfectly and has delicious salads. In all honesty, I was skeptical at first about ordering a salad from a bar. I was pleasantly surprised that this was one of the freshest salads that I've had in awhile and from such a place. 4. French Dip (Steak au jus sandwich with fries): My husband ordered this and was told that he lucked out because there was enough ingredients for one more. This says something good if its a sell-out item. He seemed to enjoy the sandwich but he told me that what made the sandwich so great was the au jus that came with it. The meal came with a small bowl but enough to soak the sandwich and some fries. If you need more though, just ask. 5. Indian Point Burger (Special Item... Juicy sirloin burger with pepperjack cheese, crisp bacon, slice of red onion, tomato, lettuce, and the avocado-cilantro dressing that I love soo much): What can I say, it was delicious and I would definitely order it again without hesitation! The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare as asked for and the combination of flavors worked very well together. It comes with a choice of fries, sweet potato fries, or a side salad. I asked for the sweet potato fries. YUM! 6. Peekskill Panini (Special item... Marinated skirt steak with spinach, sundried tomatoes on a toasted ciabatta bread, served with fries) Nicely cooked steak and flavor combo of the sundried tomatoes and spinach. For extra "ummph," get a side of the avocado dressing. Hehehe Seriously is great on everything. 7. Olde English Fish & Chips (Freshly fried sole filets, chips, and tartar sauce) I have been searching for a place that makes worthy fish & chips... This place has it! I cannot even do it justice writing about it in this review. All I can say is to go and try it yourself if you are a fish & chips type of person. The batter is not overly heavy nor is it super greasy. In my opinion, its just right. Definitely try this place bc they cant go wrong. A+++ read more
