Of course for $7 your not getting anything near even a child's salad but it's good to pretend I have veggies on my plate. There are always at least 7 people behind a very small counter. That can be hectic when it's lunchtime. They have now added a fruit smoothie section but I did not try that. Had my first lamb gyro here for the first time. I can't brag too much about it, maybe I was too hungry and ate it too fast. It was soggy, maybe too much of the hot sauce. Also, it felt like the bread couldn't hold the veggies enough, I was hoping to be able to eat it all intact without having it drip down my arm. It tasted good, although I couldn't taste much of the lamb. The veggies was gracious and overall the size of the gyro was decent. I'm going back to try the other delicacies. I want to give them a better rating next time, because it seems like they have a decent gig going for them in the Bloomfield area. Parking can get tricky, but too shabby . They either take card or cash as well. I also saw that they have smoothie section for $5 and $7 cash only, maybe I would give it a shot next time. Are gyro places even capable of earning five stars? I guess thats a personal and deep soul-searching kind of question. But for me, Gyro King comes close to being perfect. Why, do you ask?? It all comes down to taste, service and consistency. Gyro King hits on all three. For starters, prices are on point. I rarely exceed a $10 bill except on my "cheat days" (which are nearly everyday for me... but I digress). Gyro sandwiches are great, but I typically spring for the chicken/lamb combo rice platter with a generous smattering of white and spicy sauce. Recommend newbies spring for the medium hot sauce and scale up from there though... that spicy can be fiery hot!! Love that they sometimes squirt an 'X' pattern on top of your platter; a little humor to go with your lunch, perhaps?? Both the stand alone chicken tikka and kabob are really good, but one of my favorite and frequent additions are the falafel... I think its like $1-2 for a side order, so totally worth the splurge if you want to give them a test run. Don't sleep on their stuffed grape leaves either -- a nice tangy complement to the savory meats and treats. As far as freshness and service go, these guys are top notch. I usually catch them prepping fresh veggies during off hours, and that grill is always fired up. Staff is friendly and they move fast, even when there's a line for peak lunch time hours. I usually grab my food to go, but the seating area seems clean and they have plenty of tables. Just be prepared to dry clean your coat afterwards (or stash in the closet and sniff for remote gyro cravings... passing no judgement here)! All in all, one of the best lunch options in Bloomfield. I stood there for about 10 minutes before the staff acknowledged me and when I asked if I could order, I was told to hold on as he proceeded to answer the phone to take another order. After driving 13 hours home for the holiday, I was told that I was responsible for dinner and gyro king was a suggestion. I have to say that the pictures posted are true to form. The platters look EXACTLY like that. They give you plenty of food and cover it all with the white sauce if you ask for it. However, if you don't want them to put it on, ask for it on the side. Unfortunately, the side of sauce is an extremely tiny container, so you may want to ask for more. I had a falafel gyro. It was good. I wish it had more sauce, and that the sauce tasted more like tzatziki sauce. The guys who work there are also very nice. I would definitely come back here the next time I'm home. read more

So far so good - this is a new restaurant minutes away from home ... Is chipotle style - u could add any ingredients to your gyro or platter and just like Chipotle they sprinkle toppings on your food but for $5 I guess u get what u get and you don't complain! It looks like a lot of food but is more rice than iceberg lettuce , tomato , cucumbers etc... I tried the platter for $8 and chose chicken and lamb - Everything was fresh and the restaurant is nice and clean - it gets very full so be patient ! This place hits the spot if your looking for your chicken and rice fix. It's affordable and portions is plentiful. The location is not that great if you're looking to pop in and out for take out. What they fall short on is that their trying to be like chipotle and the halal guys. The turn around time is longer than expected. They need to learn the assembly line. I'm absolutely OBSESSED with this gyro place. It's delicious and SUPER reasonable for what you get. A mixed (lamb & chicken) gyro is $5 and it's soooo flavorful. They have a delicious salad topping option, creamy white sauce and option for hot sauce (yes please!). My fiance always gets the mixed meats over rice and the rice is the bomb! It has some type of spice/seasoning that I actually crave. It's plenty of food and like I said a million times, it's delicious and worth a drive or try if you're near Bloomfield.
