First of all, this diner (as opposed to it's prior owner) is open for breakfast, lunch and diner. Second of all, they have added a Latino section to their already extensive menu. In addition, they have many gluten free options! And they offer free delivery. They have kept the wonderful servers and hostess, Mary Grace but have really redefined the menu which is yummy and very generous serving sizes. Some of my favorites are Camerones al ajillo, quesadilla, Greek Tavern Salad (great dressing) and the Avocado wrap which is offered with a whole wheat or gluten free wrap! read more

We loved this place and would definitely come back for breakfast or lunch if we are ever in the area again. Some people mentioned high prices, but considering that New York is expensive and the portions were really big. I could have split mine with someone and been fine. Our group ordered chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, eggs, a Reuben sandwich, and fries and everything was yummy and fresh. Very classic diner food but high-quality and obviously made on site. The woman that greeted us at the door--might have been the owner-- was really friendly and even gave us a place to store our luggage (we visited on the way out of town) and offered to keep an eye on it for us. I think she called me sweetie too . Our waitress was very nice and attentive, coming back to check on how everything was several times during the meal. A breath of fresh air after being in NYC where people aren't exactly bursting with friendliness! I echo what everyone else said about this place being super clean. Pepsi, my preference, served here! When looking for a lunch stop before the bridge, we found this one and it will become a regular stop in our travels. Service was friendly and quick and our food was fresh and fabulous. At our table: hot pastrami sandwich, a turkey club and egg salad. Large sandwiches, with the best garlicky peppery new pickle slices on the side. Breads were fresh and fries were crisp and hot. Used to be Hogan's and there food was amazing. Now that it's "nyack diner" I went one night for dinner. I got the avocado burger with fries and my significant other got the carne asada. The burger was gross no lettuce or tomatoes. It was super oily and the fries were disgusting the were drenched in oil from frying it. The meat for the carne asada was ok the rice was old or maybe they microwaved it.. it was super hard. Not sure if they changed cooks or they rotate shifts but yikes. The waitress we had was not the best. I was without a drink for like 10 minutes they didn't give us water or anything. Until we were almost leaving. Kinda sad.. hopefully it will get better within time. read more

I like to switch up my lunch choices and get different items from the menu each time and I must admit, I have been very satisfied each time! Had breakfast here the other day. After reading the reviews I was looking for a real good breakfast but was so disappointed. I had the hungry meal special for $10.75 and I guess it means you're hungry when you leave. Also it was not good. A couple of pieces of burnt bacon, 2 dried out scrambled eggs and 2 dry pancakes. prices are out of control here. Charging $8.25 for one egg and bacon is UNACCEPTABLE. You pay top dollar , almost double compared to other local diners . The customer service is terrible. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese which would normally cost under $5 and they charged $7.50 so I expected a lot more. When I received it it had one piece of bacon , I'll call it 2 to give them the upper hand. When I pointed it out to the server she got me more bacon and when the bill came they charged me another 4 dollars , now at 11 dollars my sandwich was cold and wimpy. It could of all been resolved but the server continued to argue with me when I tried talk to her manager . Don't waist your time here if you don't want to be disappointed . One of the best breakfasts we had over our vacation. We got the hungry man breakfast since we had a long road ahead of us and subbed chocolate chip pancakes for regular. Those were probably some of the best pancakes we've ever had. The rest of the breakfast was good though the bacon was seriously overcooked. For me to leave bacon on a plate is unheard of. I thought it was weird with all of the people mentioning how clean this place was but now I get it. VERY clean, all table accoutrements neatly stacked, etc. I guess when you've eaten in enough diners, you do notice when one sticks out a little more on that appearance front. Got lucky with this find as we just crossed the tap starting the last leg of a family road trip and after several days of feasting. And it's five hours later and no needed rest stops, if you know what I mean...;) We all got breakfast - yummy French toast with snappy not greasy sausage links (more like frankfurter sized sausage), can't go wrong with classic bfast sandwich bacon egg and cheese on hard roll, and few eggs and bacon plates. Plates came with very generous portions of crispy bacon and potatoes. Eggs were ordered different styles and both were cooked perfectly. Food is definitely a reason to go back but the service was top notch from the friendly women greeting and seating us to our waiter and multiple food runners. Very much an attentive staff with a very friendly family vibe! Oh and ditto on the cleanliness. Go back for the sausages! Hogan's is great! I started eating here last year when I moved to Nyack but my boyfriend and his family have been eating here for years. It's very consistent in great service and food. Even when it's busy on weekends, the wait line is handled so efficiently and we're always seated in no time. The prices are also very decent.
