My move was last second week of July so this kind of late post. However, I thought these guys deserve a good word for the service they extended to me during one of the stressful days of sojourning in NYC. The moving team was so professional. Mike made sure I understood the steps he sent me a very thorough quote. Upon sending my request on Yelp (yay for the discount!), Mike personally called and spoke with me regarding my moving needs. The moving guys came with a REAL MOVING TRUCK and I was happy and felt confident my stuff will be okay in transit. My previous move was a horrible experience, the movers just came in an old small van and some of my belongings got destroyed. I've learned from that lesson hence I made sure I'd hire a professional: NYC Moving Man With A Van. The moving guys were also very kind and friendly. I saw how gentle they were to my stuff they made sure they were wrapped/covered well so as not to get dents in transit. Although they came late they made sure I was informed of the delays but they were quick to start as soon as they arrived. Overall the transition was smooth and they somehow lessened the stress I was going through. Moving is never fun. Anyway, I highly recommend this moving company. I resently moved from Queens to the Bronx and had to place my furniture in a storage facility because I didn't like the way my walls in my new apartment was painted (one coat of white paint and still previous color "yellow" was noticeable). So I decided to painted myself, once done, I wanted my furniture in my apartment ASAP. So, on Monday, I Yelped "Moving Van" and after reading quite a few reviews I decided to contact "Moving Man With A Van", strictly because of their great reviews. I didn't call, I contacted the owner Mike by text (646)945-9459 and we set the move for Wednesday at 11:00 AM of same week. My experience with them was easy, fast and affordable. After texting Mike the stuff I needed moved, he quoted me a flat rate which I really appreciated because I didn't have a lot of stuff and thought that everything will fit in a van. I had two movers "Mike and his helper Miguel", they were very quick and careful to move everything. From the moment Wednesday was here Mike was communicating every step of the way. It's very clear to me that this company strives for excellence and is passionate about customer service, which is key for me. Mike and his team obviously value their customers a great deal and ensure that they are well treated. This is exemplary customer service paired with very fair rates. If you want to make sure you are in good and trusted hands, I recommend going with these guys. read more

Michael and his wife saved my life! I had to do a last minute move of boxes and suitcases. I called a little over an hour before I had to move and they even showed up 1/2 hour earlier. Michael helped me moving everything from one apt to the other one. Although the traffic the overall move took less than an hour from Hell's Kitchen to the east side of the Financial District. They are extremely nice people, the whole ride was a lot of fun. They made what was a stressful situation very pleasant. I even got to learn more about New York thank to them!! read more

Based on the great reviews, I got in touch with Michael who was initially very responsive. He verbally confirmed availability for the date I needed (twice), and having sent him details of the move as he had requested via email, I heard nothing from him for a day, but because of the good reviews, his earlier responsiveness and his earlier commitment I decided he must just be busy. I sent him a reminder the second day, on the third day I called him to be told that they weren't available any more on that day. Perhaps I should have been more of a pushy New Yorker being a polite foreigner, but I don't understand how a customer can follow through as requested, only to be summarily dumped without even the courtesy of being informed as such. I know it's NYC, and no pay no play, but still! Fair comment Michael? read more

I would recommend Mike to anyone. He is honest, helpful, and most important has a great attitude. I needed to move 5 blocks up the street and Mike was there early, very reasonably priced, and got all of my stuff in and out in under an hour. Michael was the best! I scheduled the move just hours before on the day of. He was very calm and understanding even though I was running late. He helped me move my stuff to and from the van ( even though I only scheduled curbside). Some movers don't let you sit in the van with them but Michael drove me and my stuff to where we needed to be in a timely manner, and we even had an awesome conversation. He was early to pick me up and was extremely helpful and an all around rad dude! Definitely calling them the next time I need a mover last minute!!! read more

I've used Mike's company 3 times now and am finally writing a review. The first two times, they were on time and efficient and my moves were fairly easy. The first time it was Mike and Miguel, the second time it was Mike and his wife. Everyone has been great to work with and super helpful. Today's move wasn't as easy. We ran into a few issues. They had to remove my front door, remove the top of my sectional, and the feet to fit it through all the tiny spaces I needed it to fit through. All without complaining once! They were on time for the job, but the job probably took 2 hours longer than it should've because of all the unforeseen issues with my space and the size of my couch. They were great throughout all of it. I highly recommend them to everyone I know. Obviously, I'll be using them again! Also, they can swipe your credit card on site! So if the job goes over and you don't have the extra cash (or you forgot their tip money), no problem & no excuses :-) read more

What can I say, anytime I need some timely assistance in either picking something up or moving items somewhere, I call Mike and he ALWAYS accommodates me and delivers (no pun intended). I have mentioned this in a previous review but Mike continues to impress with on-time availability, affordable pricing, and great service. Mike helped me pickup some items from Ikea that not only saved me significant delivery fees, but I was able to get the items on a weekend which was important because of work schedules. What can I say, Mike is someone that you can trust and provides an invaluable service at an affordable price. I will continue to use Mike anytime I need some help because he is more than just a guy with a van, he is a family guy that really cares about his business and you as a customer, which I cant say about too many businesses in NYC. read more

Sanjay helped me move 3 large pieces of furniture this weekend -- they handled the job calmly, quickly, efficiently, the price was entirely reasonable, and there was not a single nick or problem. We got stood up by another moving company and called Mike last minute while sitting on the sidewalk on our new couch. He said he would be there in 20-25 minutes, and he was. He was very nice and helpful and had all the tools that might be needed. As it turned out, the couch was a huge, heavy pullout and wouldn't fit into our building with its legs on. He took off the legs and protected the couch as we got it inside and made sure it didn't hit the front glass doors. Very, very experienced mover. He also charged us a very good price. read more
