Stopped in for breakfast while staying at an Airbnb in the area. I have a gluten allergy and saw that they had gluten-free items on the menu. They took great care of me and were able to accommodate my food allergy. Breakfast was phenomenal! Customer service was absolutely the best we had in town the whole stay. Wow! We loved this little place on our visit to Newport. Staff was very friendly, coffee was great, and the food was excellent! I had the Mama's Boy Omelet and it was to die for! Both my omelet and the hash browns it came with came out hot and perfectly cooked. My husband had the breakfast sandwich with ham and a couple of pancakes. He said he liked them. He was a little disappointed the only jam/jelly they offered was marionberry, since he's picky about his jam/jelly, but I used his side of it on the biscuit with my meal and it was perfect! There's a fun, artsy/French cafe vibe to the restaurant, and they had very interesting and what looked like handmade mugs for coffee. The kitchen is an open kitchen. We sat at the bar and were able to watch the prep work and cooking being done. It was very fun to watch! If we get the chance we will definitely be going back! read more

Great place for breakfast. My husband and I both ordered the crab cakes and eggs, and wish we would have tried two different items to get a taste of more of the menu. The crab cakes were delicious and were mostly crab. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I ordered a bloody mary, which was ok, but not one of my favorites. read more

I am starting to learn that Nye beach is the happening spot in Newport. The food options here are vast and varied. I looked at the reviews here and went in with high expectations of food that would be amazing. Sadly, my expectations were not met. I had the oven baked french toast - I'm not sure exactly when they baked it, mine was served to me after a stint in the microwave. The overall flavor was ok, but the mushy texture, steaming hot on parts and ice cold on others was a major put off. The wife had a breakfast panini and thought it was dry and somewhat bland. The $5 side of bacon was my favorite taste even if somewhat overpriced. They don't understand the team work approach here when it comes to service. Our server was fairly busy and another server walked around the check with my credit card on it for several places. I like the decor, it's small but comfortable. I'll keep looking for that great breakfast place that I hope is out here somewhere. read more

This is a small space that delivers big flavor. Inside, there are only eight tables, and outside, on a good day, you could use one of the three picnic tables. I have had two breakfasts here, both off of the regular menu, but the specials always look intriguing. Both breakfasts were delicious, and both times I left satisfied with both food and service. Today, I looked over at people munching the crab cake special, and I briefly regretted not ordering that. But I can highly recommend the Italian hash and huevos rancheros. This is the kind of place that you always hope to find while traveling. I spend a number of weekends here in Newport each year, and I will definitely come back to the Nye Beach Cafe. read more

Wow. What a refreshing experience. The owner was waiting tables and was so kind and made us feel right at home. We went with our 3 kids - they colored and then the owner hung up their artwork which they thought was an incredible honor.. I had Blythe's breakfast burrito. It was excellent. The kids all loved their French toast and my husband got an omelet. Homemade sour dough and biscuits onsite. the day was hot. maybe the hottest day in october; with scorching rays burning our backs as we collapsed into NYE beach cafe's open chairs. a tuna salad sandwich for myself, a clam chowder bowl with garlic bread for a friend and a southwest bowl for another. i went into this expecting nothing, but got everything. exceptional service (shout out jose), house made sourdough and our own water trough because we were going through our glasses too quickly. we're college students who scrape together change for gas money, but if you own a tesla please tip jose $100. the man is amazing. needless to say, i highly recommend this business and will be coming back. read more

I'm going to be honest, we didn't have high expectations for the chowder as this seems more of a brunch spot, but oh man, so glad we stopped here. We were happy to find this gem not too far away from where we were staying (20 minutes from Depoe Bay). We called at opening (8am) and a very nice woman answered the phone. She explained that they weren't offering the full menu due to the desire to keep ingredients fresh. We each ordered a breakfast burrito and to our surprise they were better than anticipated! To go ordering sometimes isn't nearly as enjoyable as dining in but this wasn't even close to the case here. I can honestly say the Blythe's burrito (with bacon) was a breakfast to remember! The portions were generous and the polenta was fantastic! I would also like to note, the woman that helped us was so excited we placed an order before 10am as that hasn't happened for them in a while. We had breakfast here and it lived up to its reputation. My wife is vegetarian and was pleased at the modifications they were able to do for her Katy's Greek Potatoes meal. Often times she finds that restaurants just throw some tasteless meal on the menu so they can say they offer a vegetarian option, but in this case she was happy with the real deal that tasted great. I had the Baked French Toast. It didn't really taste like traditional french toast, but I think it was the best french toast that I've ever eaten. The combination of the berry sauce with the custardy toast and the cinnamon pecan butter in the middle was absolutely delicious. Will look forward to getting that again next time I'm in town. The atmosphere was casual, but nice. It was fun watching the cook whip up a new batch of bread in the open kitchen. For you mechanical folks, take a look at the ceiling fans and the clever way they are turned. The only downside was that it took about half an hour or more to get our food. We weren't in a hurry that day, so it was no issue, but if we had been on a schedule, this would not have been the place to come. The service was good, it just took a long time in the kitchen.
