My car was having performance issues and sounding horrible so I brought it to NZ Auto for support. Just in pulling up to the shop and listening they already knew what to look at. My 2010 Ford Escape had a bad pulley and belt. The alternator was also bad as well, something I expected. I also needed and my brakes and rotors replaced, so while working on the rear ones they found my shocks to be worn and leaking. They shared their finding with photos and options before moving forward since they were working in that area. Definitely needed so I gave the go ahead and they replaced. Lastly my oil was leaking on top of the engine so I had them look into that as well. It was worse than I thought as the oil was flooding the intake, drowning in it. NZ Auto (Francisco) shared photos of the before and after, were very communicative and kept me informed throughout. They did great work and the pricing was fair for all that they did, great quality throughout. Every time we bring my car here something that was working perfectly fine before all of a sudden doesn't work I feel like they mess with things to try and get money out of me. It's overpriced they charge double for a part and come to find out they charged for an old used part. I took it to a different mechanic and he charged me for only a quarter of the price that this place charged me. I've spent thousands here. Just for the same problem to keep coming back and when I took it to a different mechanic they fixed the issue and 2 other issues that I wasn't even worried about for $150. I'm never coming back here again I should honestly go back and ask for at-least half my money back but I don't want to deal with these people anymore. We trusted the reviews to this place and they let me down. I have a 2006 VW Passat. One day my car loss power on the freeway out of nowhere while I was going at freeway speed. Very scary. AAA tow came and towed me to my house. They told me it was an Alternator. This was going to be my 1st repair on a German foreign vehicle, so I was a little lost on what shop to take my car to. That's when I found Francisco on Yelp! On Tuesday afternoon Francisco contacted me and informed me the problem is actually the Fuel pump. Which makes sense because my engine light code was referencing a fuel issue I needed to take care of. I authorized the repair and again Francisco stayed open for me to pick up my car after work. I came in here upon a friend's recommendation, as the mechanic had done a great job for my friend. I was having some issues with the AC in my Audi A4 and I also needed to have my brakes replaced since the pads were at about 2mm. Francisco identified and fixed the problem with my AC right away, and didn't even charge me for the service since it was an easy fix. Then came the talk about replacing brakes... We all know that replacing parts on German cars are not easy and require special tools. Even if it is just the brakes. The whole time I was planning on getting the parts so I could repair it myself. I admit this was very short-sighted, since I would have had a heck of a time messing with the complex computer, and I would have had to buy all the special tools. Francisco was very informative and walked me through all the options I had available. He was very flexible and I could tell he was passionate about providing repairs that prioritize functionality and quality at a competitive cost. In the end, I had him replace my brake pads and he managed quite amazingly to save the delicate brake sensors that were one heavy slam on the brakes away from becoming useless. I came here on a Sunday because it was one of the only places in town actually operating. I was charged a pretty hefty cost just for the diagnostics to be run, a service many places don't even charge for. I was told I needed a pretty huge repair done and after fretting about how I'd pay for it, I decided to wait and get a second opinion. I finally found Precision Auto Diagnostics and it was worth the drive from Santa Monica just to get service and excellent prices and knowledgeable help. For some reason, every auto shop would give me a vague sort of wishy washy, "I don't know..." kind of response, but even on the phone, the owner Toshi was able to take the smog failure numbers and interpret them and begin the process of moving toward the right repairs that would be needed to get it smogged. This is my very first review and I have to say that I finally found a great shop for auto repair. I first came in July because I had my check engine light on. Toshi and his staff were awesome at repairing the issues on my car to get it ready to pass a smog check. I was so relieved I found a place where everyone is friendly and extremely knowledgeable and qualified for the job. I told my sister about this place because she was having car trouble every other week and her mechanic just didn't seem to be doing anything right. She brought her car to Toshi's shop, and just like that, he got the job done. Do not let yourself get ripped off by car dealerships automotive service departments. Be sure to get a digital diagnosis on what is wrong with your car before you get a general mileage service repair bill for something that is functioning perfectly. That is what I when I went to Toshi auto diagnostics, all cars after 1996 are able to use this digital reading and the service preformed on what the problem is, rather than replacing things that don't need to be replaced I give Francisco the spokesman and mechanic extraordinaire five stars for explaining the need for what needed to be done rather than running up the bill. I'm a Defense industry machinist/mechanic, so I normally fix my own cars and trucks. I have a heavy background of mechanical repairs and modifications. I recently had an engine problem (fuel injector) with my Chevy truck that I was unable to diagnose, so I brought it to Precision Auto. Toshi immediately suspected a problem in the Power Control Module. He opened the PCM and showed me exactly where the problem was (never had anyone do that for me before.. amazing). Well, he was right on the money and had my truck running in no time. He saved me a ton of time and frustration and I am happy I brought my truck to him.
