My eldest sister visiting O'ahu and I craved for Hawaiian food. We love eating traditional Hawaiian food! However, we don't get to eat it as often as we prefer to. I called the restaurant at opening and spoke with a kind, local employee via phone. I made a res on same day for lunch at 12 noon. He informed me, "When you come in, say you're the party of 8!" I wanted to chuckle. I maintained my composure and responded, "Ok. Will do." I kindly left my name, just in case, restaurant gets full. Parking options are street, metered, and paid public parking lot via entering 11th Ave, then turn left. Choose a single plate, two choices, or three choices combination plate with or w/o add ons. Choice of poi or rice, lomi lomi salmon and haupia are included in plates. These are my faves or must haves for three choices Hawaiian mea 'ai rated 10/10: Laulau was very flavorful! Pork was very moist, with two tiny portions of fat. Super tender, and easy to pull apart. Kalua pig tasted moist and had the perfect amount of Hawaiian salt. Squid luau has the ideal consistency, not too thick, not runny, with proportions of squid and coconut milk. I also let my hubby try after he overheard me rave about it. He loved it too! Lomi lomi salmon tasted very fresh. Light Hawaiian salt compliments this side dish. Haupia was thick in consistency and ono! Tiny, powerful dessert. Poi brought back pleasant, nostalgia memories! Perfect consistency, color and taste. Fresh, same day poi. I ate everything on my plate. Spacious, casual, and ample elbow space to enjoy your entree(s). We're very happy that three different 'ohana were able to meet, converse and catch up from nostalgia to modern times. If choosing to pay with card, there's a 3% surcharge. Excellent customer service from one and only, full of life + humorous employee with beverage refills, napkins, to go containers. Would love to bring out of town guests at my leisure and try other add ons! Mahalo piha!
So glad to have found this hidden gem in Kaimuki! 10/10 friendly and attentive service from sistah Lei who made us feel welcomed and at home. Parking outside in the municipal parking lot, pay before you leave. Came in a party of 8 with a same day reservation. We all enjoyed our food and I think most of us cleaned our plates too. Poi was offered fresh. You can ask for older/sour poi if you like too. Owners are somehow related to Waiahole poi factory and get their poi fresh from them. Enjoyed my squid luau and laulau. Lomi salmon was gooood and haupia was so 'ono! Definitely recommend stopping by if you're craving real local Hawaiian food and you're in the area!
I am not familiar with hawaiian cuisine. I had a bite of my friend's ordered food called loco moco yesterday, that is about it. And that tasted somewhat familiar. I am glad I found this place and came to dine in, it was interesting. I felt like food was inspired or originated from korean, chinese, filipino, and possibly mexican with twists. Some food was so foreign, but the dining experience was fun here. The cook(maybe John) was friendly and hard working.
Authentic Hawaiian food! This time we ordered take out via this online system. When we got there the food wasn't ready but it was because we were the first ones to order and some items were still being made. Loved the tripe stew, as it's like how grandma would have made it. Chicken long rice was very salty. I think the air conditioning was down or they didn't turn it on yet because it was early. Had fans going instead.
The visit to this restaurant was great. I went around noon and there was plenty of seats. We didn't have to wait a lot to get our food. We tried the short ribs, and pork. Those were amazing. The poi was very interesting, but i didn't like it too much. The squid Lucas though, was great! As well as the lomi salmon.
Update 6-4-2025 Delicious Hawaiian Food. My wife ordered the Salt Meat Watercress, Brother-in-law had the mini Laulau plate, and I had the Squid luau with poi. We all enjoyed our food. The potions are large and the poi is hand pounded. I noticed only one worker / server/ cook. Show a little patience and you will be rewarded with great tasting Hawaiian Food. Enjoy
Oahu Grill is a small family business style restaurant. When we arrived on a Saturday during lunch time, there was only one person on staff and he greeted us with familiarity. The space is small and doesn't offer much in the way of decorations. We ordered one of the large plates and split between our group as we were food touring the area and he was kind enough to give us larger portions than is typically served so we could try lots of options while still feeling satisfied. The quality of the food was traditional home-style, like your grandma would make, but of course Hawaiian. The chicharron was delicious, but the meat was a bit dry and tough. Dipping it in the soy and vinegar sauce helped add moisture and also a nice acidic kick. We also got the squid lu'au, which was a bit odd to me as someone who's never had it, but the taro leave mixture was really delicious and paired with the rice beautifully. The laulau pork was my favorite on the plate because every bite was tender and juicy. The poi was not for me as the texture reminded me of pudding, but made of taro root and it was cold. It's more of a personal preference though. I loved ending the meal with the coconut jelly. Even though the textures and flavors aren't the same, it reminded me of the effect arroz con leche has at the end of a spanish meal, probably because of the milk aspect. Delicious!
I was curious to try O'ahu grill since I love the Kaimukī area, but I was a bit disappointed, unfortunately :-( A friend and I ordered two of the 2-item combos. One combo was pork laulau and chicken long rice, and the second combo was squid luau and tripe stew. The squid luau was pretty good and had a nice coconut flavor. But everything else was way too salty, except for the laulau, which was surprisingly bland and kind of dry... The haupia texture was too starchy. When I placed the order, I asked the staff if they could replace the lomi salmon in both combo plates with a second portion of haupia, and they said it would be no problem, but then they didn't make the adjustment. We ordered takeout so didn't notice until we got home. I see a lot of good reviews on here, though, so maybe we just happened to visit on an "off" day?
BEST HAWAIIAN FOOD ON ISLAND Yes I said it! Went in after lunch rush and the place was empty and quiet. Owner cooking by himself food came quick. SHOYU (soy sauce) CHICKEN 5/5: Sweet savory delicious finger licking marinade and braised tender meat falls off bone! CHICKEN LONG RICE 5/5: warm hearty bowl of soup. Coconut milk jello sweet dessert. LAULAU 5/5: my husband had this and said it's the best he's ever gad! CRISPY PORK BELLY 5/5: crispy and chewy in a good way. Dipping sauce fire PIPIKAULA (SHORT RIBS) 5/5: I'm used to the Korean LA galbi ribs which is sweet but this style with the savory flavor was just as good! SIDES 5/5: CRAB POTATO SALAD, COCONUT JELLY, LOMI SALMON were all tasty! The chef here knows how to get down with flavors in the kitchen. Definitely going to be our go to stop on our vacations here!!!
This place is casual and cozy, I tried the 3 item combination plate here with Smoked Meat, Pipikaula, and Squid Luau. The 3 item combination plate comes with a choice of poi or rice, I opted for poi, and Lomi Salmon and Haupia. Everything was very delicious. My favorite was the Smoked Meat, it was very flavorful and tender. I also really liked the Lomi Salmon and Squid Luau. The service was very good, and the restaurant was well kept and clean.
They only do takeouts at night and the food is pretty bomb for hawaiian food at night. I got the lau lau and the short rib, both were well made. Service was cool, even tho its just collecting our money at the cashier. We waited for 10 min for the food which was pretty quick. Didn't get to dine in so dont know mich about them ambiance, however, the place looks pretty spacious. One bag thing was the poi was sour, didnt know if its expired so I ditch that for rice at home...
Hidden gem! Located in the busy shopping mall on Waianae Avenue. This place serves authentic Hawaiian food! Great two choice combination plates: rice or poi, kahlua pig, and their ono squid luau! I also love their chicken long rice and tripe stew.
Loved this place what a local treat to eat some delicious and ono food. Customers service was friendly and kind. Ambiance was perfect for a few friends getting together enjoying dinner and good conversation. Definitely recommend if you are looking for good local food and are in the area. You won't be disappointed!

We got there a bit after 1:00 for lunch. We were seated promptly and provided menus. Hawaiian food wasn't my usual choice, and I didn't have any idea what it was like. My friend had some previous experience with it and ordered something she found it her liking, but I stick to pork I know I can handle. We wanted to have some dessert afterwards, so we ordered mini size. I have nothing compared to as this was my first Hawaiian food, but it was tasty mixing of cooked pork with rice & tomatoes. The staff who came around at good timing to fill our glasses with the water, and checked in on us for just enough to things get flowing as it should. I would like to come back and try something else next time. read more
My uncle who lives in Hawaii took us here and it was absolutely delicious! We ordered a lot of things - lau lau, kahlua pig, chicken long rice, tripe stew, smoked meat, and lechon (crispy fried pork). The lau lau blew me away, the tender fatty pork chunks mixed with the taro leaves was such a delicious and fragrant combination. I've never had it before, but it was my favorite thing we ordered. I also really enjoyed the lechon and smoked meat. Can't go wrong with some fried fatty pork belly and smoked pork. The kahlua pig was solid but I'd recommend the other pork options more. Chicken long rice was like a salty chicken noodle soup. I really wish I ordered the squid lu'au instead since I saw so many good reviews on it. The sides of lomi salmon and haupia were nice additions to the meal. Our waitress was also so friendly and nice. Overall had a great Hawaiian food experience here! read more

Met an old shipmate who I hadn't seen since 1984. He and his wife are locals so they recommended this non tourist spot for some true Hawaiian food. Tried Lau Lau for the first time and it was GREAT! The crispy pork belly was very good as well! The poi was very good also. Wife had Kalua pork and said it was delicious. We had a very good meal with some very good friendship and fellowship with our friends! Will go back again next time we come to the island! read more
I came here because I needed my laulau and pipikaula fix and Helena's was closed. I will say that the poi and haupia were perfect. Unfortunately, the pork in the laulau got too dry and hard but overall, it still did the job. The ribs were aight. I think they could've been dried out more and marinated better. It was nice and quiet inside and service was ok. read more

Neighborhood place that serves up Hawaiian food. Little bit on the pricey side. It's not junk but there are better options for Hawaiian food. Usually come here if I'm in the area. Kalua pork is always kind of dry but they give you a lot. Poi is always extra chunky ! Lau lau good ! Long rice good ! Their nice people , and service is fine. read more
Very lovely staff and good food! Wanted to takeout some Hawaiian food and stumbled upon Oahu Grill. I went with the two choice and got the crispy fried pork and chicken long rice. The entree came with lomi salmon and haupia and choice of rice. The crispy fried pork was so good! My favorite is the chicken long rice. The hint of ginger after every slurp got me craving more. The plate is pretty packed and will definitely fill you up! The young lady who helped me was so nice and helpful. She even helped me bring my order to the car since I had multiple orders. Overall, very good Hawaiian food and you won't be disappointed! read more
The two must haves in the menu are the Kalua pig and Laulau entree. The Laulau was steamed in tea and wrapped in greens. They cook it with butterfish to enhance the flavor. Both entrees were served with rice, salmon lomilomi and haupia. Service was great; friendly and quick. read more

We are just leaving this restaurant and I am so sad to drop my review to 1 star as we were really looking forward to coming back to this place. I had even called weeks in advance to make my reservation, that is how excited I was. When we got to the restaurant, it was completely empty. That should be our first sign to run, I wish we had! What happened! Did the ownership change? There was one person behind the counter who was doing everything and a 16 year old server from Ohio. We ordered the grilled fish for my kids, which the guy cooked it in a pan. It was so heavily loaded with partially cooked garlic, that my kids barely even touched it. I got the fried pork belly, I could barely eat it as it had such a bad, old smell to it. My husband got the combo of smoked meat and squid luau. He only liked the squid luau. I feel sad to say this but the service was horrible. Our waters never got refilled. I had to get up and ask him for water. Our food was supposed to come with Haupia, I had to ask for it and he told us it was out. We were given a check before our table was cleared and it never got cleared at all. The server knew we were not happy. He kept asking because he saw we barely ate any of our food but we couldn't wait to get out. My husband was disappointed in me as I had advocated for this place so much but it t turned out to be such a big disappointment and such a big waste of money. read more
Came here for dinner one night, as I was craving Hawaiian food and had read that the Chef used to be the head cook at Waiahole Poi Factory (my fav Hawaiian food spot). All of the 5 star ratings pointed towards a tasty meal here, so off I went to Kaimuki to make my Hawaiian tummy happy. They are located in a shopping plaza with a paid parking lot (you grab a ticket at the gate and pay on your way out). The parking lot is huge, so no worries on finding parking. I had arrived right when they opened for dinner, so I was their first customer. They took my order at the cash register and then pointed to a table where I could sit. The service was just average. They only checked on me once, and I had to wave them down to get the check at the end. During my time there, no other customers arrived except for a kid who appeared to be high and asked if he could have some water and use the restroom. I ordered the lau lau plate for $14, which comes with 2 scoops of rice (or poi), lomi salmon and haupia. When the plate arrived, I was expecting a larger portion. My photo makes the food look like a lot, but it really wasn't that much. The lau lau was good, but not out of this world. The lomi salmon was also just average, but the haupia was really tasty! I probably wouldn't return, just because there are better places on the island to get Hawaiian food (IMO) and the service was just average. read more
First time trying this place and saw high ratings! Tucked away in Kaimuki. We parked in the municipal parking lot, took a ticket and walked over. It's bellow Himalayan Kitchen. Parking was $.75 when we left. It was a nice entrance. No one was in line when we entered. Laminated Take-out menus were placed in a basket outside. Looked and sounded good! Sadly, no more Daily Specials, but still got the main dishes. Forgot to take a pic of menu! Julie greeted us and we talked story about the menu. She was very accommodating and offered samples. Such a nice, welcoming atmosphere. I chose the squid luau. Once in a while I try this at parties and homemade is the best! This is a family run business and her daughter and mom was helping out. She said it was her brother's restaurant. We ordered 3 Combo Take-Outs. LauLau w/Chicken Long Rice, LauLau with Salt Meat and Watercress Soup, and Squid Luau with Chicken Long Rice. Comes with choice of rice or poi, Lomi salmon and Haupia. It all was so good and worth the drive to Kaimuki! We had fun talking story with Julie and Reuben showed some Magic tricks. Got the chicken hekka special and salt meat with watercress plate. Both were extremely fresh and flavorful and made with high quality ingredients. I felt like I was eating in someone's house, not a restaurant. The service and vibe were very warm. Best meal we had all vacation. Wow. What a hidden gem. I wanted my family to try Hawaiian Food and we did not want to go to Helena's and wait. Found this place via Yelp and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. There was no wait but also only 1 waitress so we had to wait a bit to get seated. But once we did and ordered, food came out relatively quick. Everything was delicious - specially the lau lau, crispy pork and the squid lau lau. The haupia was a good addition to the plate too for a sweet finish. Solid Hawaiian food. We ordered smoked meat (4/5), laulau (4/5) poi (4/5) kalua pig (4/5) lomi lomi salmon (4/5) and haupia (5/5). Everything was on point. And while everything was tasty, the haupia was amazing! Normally I don't rave about haupia. It's the necessary ending to a Hawaiian food meal and usually made from coconut milk, sugar, and cornstarch. This haupia was different! I think they reduced or eliminated the cornstarch and may have used agar agar. Whatever the case, it is my favorite haupia! I would come here just to eat the haupia. Service was super friendly and attentive. We felt welcomed and our server checked on us often. Prices are reasonable for Hawaiian food. This a hidden gem in Kaimuki. This Covid pandemic is allowing us to try all kinds of food to take out. Kaimuki has had a ton of new restaurants opening up and we're slowly trying to check it out. Oahu Grill isn't brand new but we thought we would have Hawaiian food. We don't normally eat Hawaiian food. I think the last time I had Hawaiian food was in the Ala Moana food court. And we all know how authentic that is... Ordering take out from Oahu Grill was easy. The online menu seems to have less than their regular menu so I just called the restaurant. One of the things they didn't have on their online menu was mini kalua pork. I got the two combo and got the chicken long rice and the laulau. My husband got three combo and got the smoked meat, laulau, and kalua pork. The kalua pork was delicious. Not super oily and it had good flavor. I liked the chicken long rice too. The laulau was good but a little bit dry. I was telling my husband that it was good that they didn't have a chunk of fat in the laulau. But he said that the fat makes it not so dry. Maybe a little more fat inside for balance in the laulau would help. Overall it was a good meal. It was a big portion and we were stuffed after eating our meal. I'm glad we got to try this place. read more
Some of the tastiest and largest garlic shrimp in town, with thin enough shell that you can eat. A bit pricey and the Mac salad can use a little seasoning but overall pretty good. Also, would be nice if they had a healthier side option of salad rather than Mac salad or rice. read more

Came here to try since I haven't eaten Hawaiian food in a while and it was a great choice! It wasn't so busy when we came in and we were able to sit wherever we wanted. Of course we opted to sit by the window. I ordered the regular lau lau with two scoops of rice, lomi lomi salmon, and haupia. Once we placed the order, it took about ten minutes. It was so quick! I was ready to munch. The plate itself was overall so ono! I kinda wish there was more meat in my laulau instead of the kalo leaf, but the lomi lomi salmon made up for it! The customer service here is amazing! I will definitely make it back. Next time, I think I'll try the squid luau! read more

Review #16 for 2022. A friend recommended this place to me, and I finally got to try it a couple months ago. The food was awesome, and the service was great too. Oahu Grill makes great Hawaiian food and is Kanaka (Native Hawaiian) owned too. Located in the old Seed restaurant space behind Happy Days and Big City Diner, Oahu Grill shares a large paid parking lot with several other businesses. Everything I ate was delicious! The squid luau specifically is awesome, and I would eat that every time. I love squid luau, and I know it's not easy to do well, but this was some of the best. The salt meat watercress was great too, and I thoroughly enjoyed the laulau as well. Oahu Grill doesn't skimp as some places give a small cup of poi, but they give a hearty bowl. Also, the chili pepper water was some of the best I've had. I make my own, but Oahu Grill's chili pepper water is better. Service is outstanding! The aunty who was helping us was super nice. We got to talk stories some, and she was just so friendly. I recommended Oahu Grill to some church friends who were looking for Hawaiian food for uncle's birthday. They were super happy with their experience too! read more

Aloha, I love Hawaiian food, so happy that Kaimuki now has a great place to enjoy it. Everything was delicious with generous portions for lunch, nice. My partner had the big meal with laulau and kalua pig etc, I had the luau with sides, nice. Will definitely come back again soon. I like that you get to chose your sides on the combo meals. We barely venture to Kaimuki but when we do we make sure it's worth it. Oahu Grill has been on my fiancé's mind for some time so we decided to check it out on our day off. Oahu Grill is located in the same building as Earl and Sugarcane. For parking, there's street parking but there's also a small lot in the back for a small fee depending how long you decide to stay. It does get a bit crowded because of the other eateries and small shops surrounding. Menu consists of your typical Hawaiian food to even some local items like lechon. Prices are quite reasonable considering how much other places may charge. My fiancé has their two choice combo with stew and kalua pig and I tried their lechon. Their mini is still a pretty big portion in my opinion. We also tried their crab mac salad. The Hawaiian food was good. The lechon wasn't as fatty but has a nice taste with their seasoning. Next time would def try their lau lau. Overall, can def see where the hype is at especially for the price. If you're in the Kaimuki area and craving Hawaiian food, why not? Staff are really friendly and service was fast. Def would come back if in the area. They also have catering options that are really reasonable. read more

As someone who has never had Hawaiian food, this was a wonderful experience!! I got a $20 combo plate so was able to try the smoked meat and the kahlua pig. Every plate comes with a starch (I recommend choosing poi if you have never tried it), a side of salmon ceviche, and coconut pudding in that plate. Get the smoked meat. Just get it. I tried smoked meat elsewhere after Oahu Grill and it disappointed me. Other meats we liked were the laulau and the crispy fried pork. Tip: If I remember correctly, bring coins for the parking lot. read more

Hawaiian food in Kaimuki? Yes please. All 3 of us whacked our plates clean. Daughter had a mini laulau, hubs had a regular kalua pig and the oiker in me wanted to try my favorite chicken long rice and tripe stew since not many places have this on their menu. Checking out the menu when we arrived they even have good ice cream flavors but just couldn't. My portion was so generous I gave my daughter my lomilomi salmon and half my haupia. Our server was quick and asked my daughter if she wanted a drink refill. Once the food arrived we pretty much ate in silence enjoying the food one forkfull after another. I remember this place being a pizza joint then a coffee cafe before. I hope this place survives and does well. The man was super friendly when we entered saying sit anywhere you feel comfortable and thankyou very much when we left with a wonderful smile and a twinkle in his eye like a jolly man we are all familar with who makes his presence well known to all those who are child at heart this time of the year. read more

FPO and I stumbled over Oahu Grill last month as a fortuitous bonus in our quest for a new dog spa. We'd just dropped off our Bichon mix at New Breeze Dog Salon (if you have a frou frou dog, definitely go see Malika) and were at loose ends. We wandered and noticed the new place. We got three plates: Lau Lau for $13, Kalua Pig $12, and a Combo with smoked meat and squid luau for $18.00. The people were super nice. The food was pretty good too. The Lau Lau plate was mine and the lau lau was a little small of but it was still good. FPO had the combo and was happy (good flavors). The Kalua Pig went to a friend of ours visiting from the mainland and he was in Heaven. We carried out so it was a little while before we ate and I'm curious to see how different the food would be to dine in. Frou frou Ipo has another appointment in a few weeks and I think I want to find out. read more
Healthy Hawaiian grindz? I'll get back to this. Young's since 1951 Highway Inn since 1947 Helena's since 1946 Waiahole Poi Factory since 1904 Abigail Disney, you sit down. The old guard can't be beat when it comes to Hawaiian food. That doesn't mean that a new comer using family recipes, modernized to a more health conscious crowd can't make good food. It's just... well... Where's the FAT? 1. Laulau - huge pieces of fall apart tender pork bordering on dry. It is so well trimmed with only a tiny one inch piece of melting pork fat. The result, the luau leaves lack juicy porky flavor and the meat within, dry. Well seasoned but no salt butterfish. Waiahole Poi Factory remains the gold standard. 2. Kalua pig - Slow cooked finished with natural smoke. Well seasoned, good smoked taste with some astringent bitterness, more like Southern BBQ vs an imu. Somewhat dry. Again lacking fat. 3. Long rice - Very flavorful. Aggressively seasoned. The long rice, plump and falling apart from all the delicious chickeny broth. Lots of tender chicken. Clean chicken flavor. 4. Poi - Not for the uninitiated. Pronounced sour taste. Very thick and pasty (you need to water it down yourself making the portion very generous). 5. Haupia - Upfront coconut flavor that quickly vanishes. Lacks richness associated with coconut oil. Too much water added. Local service. Extremely friendly. Sistahs with smiles. Great for the health conscious but seriously, pork fat rules. read more
To Go Order - Check your order before driving off. We ordered a 3 meat combo plate to go and arrived back to our AirBnB with a missing item. Verified on the receipt and indeed was missing an order. Parking is in a ticketed lot. For To Go orders, you have a 20 minute period of free parking before you're charged. Restaurant does not give out parking vouchers. Food was good. My kiddos were getting a haircut and I wandered by the former Island Brewhouse to find Oahu Grill had taken over the space. A new eatery! So I go inside and get a takeout menu. It's pretty similarly laid out, with the counter right inside the entrance and tables scattered throughout. They do have some shelving with shirts and jewelry for sale, too. It's nice, but not anything special. After I pick up my kids I show them the menu. They decide they want to try the lechon kawali. We order 1 large plate with rice to share plus 2 scoops of rainbow sherbet, 1 scoop of haupia ice cream, and 1 scoop of coffee ice cream. I also order some ham hock soup (Saturday special) for my husband to take home. Let's start with the soup. My husband said it was mostly macaroni with little of anything else. Having had soup made with ham hock done well by both my grandpa and my aunty growing up, this was quite disappointing. My kids and my husband both said the lechon was just ok. My kids found it quite fatty and my husband said it wasn't terribly flavorful. This dish - and other entrees like it - come with poi or rice and haupia. Honestly, this sounds like a win for me, so I was sad about how that turned out. Kids said the rainbow sherbet was good, and I found my coffee ice cream to be nice and flavorful as well. But the haupia ice cream was lacking in flavor until about halfway through, when it suddenly began to taste like coconut. I'm not really sure how that happened. The quality of the ice cream overall seemed good otherwise. This restaurant is located right on a municipal parking lot that is incredibly inexpensive. But the credit card machines stop working more often than not, so bring small bills to pay. Will we return? Hard to say. I'd like to say we'll be back to try other dishes, but to be honest I'm a little scared. Prices are competitive and people seem nice, but it doesn't have the One Big Thing that makes them stand out - at least not yet. Hope they find it! read more
Hawaiian cuisine in Kaimuki, Honolulu... Dan O. is a rather quiet guy. When he talks, I listen. So - when he said, "Auntie! We should eat at Oahu Grill. Roz, Jo, and Brian went already! They all gave 5 star reviews!" K den... we go! A few of us gathered on a Monday evening. Some of us parked in the paid lot which is right in front of the restaurant. I parked on the street where metered parking is free after 6pm (and on holidays and Sundays). We entered the clean, comfy, pleasant environment and had excellent service by Hannah. A couple of the other staff (probably the owners) checked up on us, too! Everyone was friendly and welcoming! Our water glasses were filled without our asking! I ordered the 3-choice Combination Plate. It came with haupia which had a kanten texture. I wish that it was creamier instead of like a sturdy gelatin. The poi was fresh and helped to neutralize the fishiness of the lomi salmon. The tripe stew was more like a watery tomato soup. I'd rather have a thicker consistency with a bit of sweetness. The pork in the laulau was on the hard, dry side. It was a bit bland which is better than being too salty. The winner was the squid lu'au which was rich and packed full of squid chunks. Yum! Next time, I want to get the Daily Special... I'll aim for the Garlic Shrimp on a Friday. I'm looking forward to the potato crab pasta salad which is given with the Daily Special! read more

Customers can park in the municipal parking lot where we're located. You can enter the parking lot from 11th Ave or 12th Ave. There's a 15 minute grace period. Parking rates are 75 cents every 30 minutes thereafter.
