Recently purchased a car from Welch. Originally, starting my search via telephone with Mr. Landry (Sales person) who was very helpful, who was not available when I went. I was then introduced to Mr. Paul Mitchell (Sales Consultant). He was very likable, helpful, knowledgable and PROFESSIONAL. Never overly aggressive or "pushy," which is very important "TO ME". While management asked a couple of unsettling questions, we were able to work through it. With that being said, I would say my experience was VERY GOOD. The worst service in my adult life I used them when I first moved here, but never again. I had them change my wiper and it took 3 visits to get ride of the noise they made, hitting the metal, and my husband and to go with me , because they didn't believe me and I had a video. So today I took my car in for an oil change and check my tires because it had a slow leak. The tires were Michelin tires my 1st set lasted 60000 miles. I bought new tires from O C welsh about 20000 miles on them and 2 had a slow leak. Went to pick up the car and they didn't even check the tire, said they were worn out . They do not honor the manufacture warranty Michelin which is up to 90000 miles or 6 years defects. I never go back to them again. Do not use them. Terrible read more

I tried OC Welch 3x in the past 6 months. I see all their positive reviews on their website...these have to be screened. I literally had to drive round trip 1+ hours to the dealership to find out the status of my warranty repair because no one would call back for 2 days. Prior to this, the radio went blank in my 2023 F150 Lariat and I had to wait 6 weeks for a repair appointment (the part was available in two days). Went in to talk to a service manager about some performance upgrades on my new Bronco. Not only was he not very educated on the mater but insisted in relaying my questions to his mechanic. Instead of letting me speak to the mechanic himself. After feeding me bad recommendation I knew to be incorrect I decided not to bring my business there. I will go to a different ford Dealership or use local mechanics. I would never recommend using them for anything else than perhaps oil change place. read more

Not recommended for service on your Ford vehicle. They are backed up for weeks and do not keep appointments even when made far in advance. I made an appointment four weeks ago to diagnose and repair a problem with my 2024 Ford Edge, still under warranty. The first available appointment was February 6th. I arrived on time for my appointment today and was advised that it would be 2-3 days until they could look at it. I said I'd leave and come back on Monday but they couldn't guarantee that they could look at it then, either. I just had to leave it and they'd get to it when a technician became available. I spoke to the Service Manager who repeated what the service advisor told me. He said they have more business than they can handle and couldn't guarantee me anything. I told him that I couldn't leave my vehicle with him for three days on the HOPE that they'd eventually look at it. I cancelled the appointment and left in search of another Ford repair shop. I've never encountered this kind of poor customer service before. I guess they have so much business that they really don't have to try to please customers or keep them from taking their business elsewhere. I recommend you save yourself the aggravation and find another place for your Ford service. read more

I special ordered my wife a new ford expedition and when we arrived to buy the vehicle on August 6th 2022, it was still all in plastics fresh off of the delivery truck. I pointed out to my salesman Chris Brubaker that there was about a 3-4 inch long scratch in the left rear door panel. He saw it and said he would get it fixed under warranty and it wouldn't be a problem. At the finance managers desk doing paper work, I asked the finance manager about writing up a "we owe" form to document the dealership owed me a new door panel. He told me it wasn't necessary because they had already ordered a replacement panel. This is where I'm going to make a very long story short, I have been told repeatedly through text, phone calls and emails that my door panel was ordered and would be replaced. To this day, January 24th 2024, I have yet to have the problem resolved. I have been lied to by the salesman Chris Brubaker, his sales manager Rick Kling, and owner O.C. Welch himself has brushed off the situation and is ignoring my calls and voicemails. O.C. childishly tried to retaliate against me personally by leaving a fake google review about the small business I own to try and get some sort of vegeance when I called to ask him for his help resolving this. This dealership is full of liars from top to bottom and is a disgrace to the Ford Motor Company I'll include a couple photos of screen shots of texts between myself and salesman Chris Brubaker confirming the door panel being ordered as well as O.C.'s fake google review. Since my last review I've had two calls from "Michael" asking me to remove my original review. I told him I'd agree to update the review if he promised things would change. He said parts had been ordered and he'd call me once they arrived. That was April 05. It's now April 22 and I haven't heard anything. OC Welch has a severe honesty issue. I took my truck into them in Feb 2022 with an oil consumption concern. Over 2 years I was repeatedly told by the service department that the engine failed the consumption test and Ford was going to replace the motor under warranty. The service manager lied. The problem was never reported to Ford. The 2 managers I worked with were dismissed and I was forced to go through the testing all over again and by this time the truck was approximately 2000 miles out of warranty. At this time I was told the motor replacement would be +/- $9000. Ford agreed to pay $5000 and I was responsible for the balance. I talked with Mr Welch and he didn't want to accept any responsibility for their failure. The new service manager finally agreed to pay all but $1500. When I finally got the truck repaired I was told I was responsible for almost $4000. This is where my suggestion to all customers comes into play. I recorded the conversation where they agreed to pay all but $1500. It was my ace at the end. I made a total on one short drive and the truck quit working. The motor install had binded the transmission cable and it had to be towed back in. Finally I can say that the truck is running correctly. My suggestion is never buy or service a vehicle at OC Welch. My truck was in the shop for weeks and I had to pay for repairs that should have been covered. I had to give them a one star rating as a default but they don't deserve even that. read more

Terrible experience. They broke my new Explorer Limited when they were cleaning it up! Sam Elliott & Paul Tindall were great to work with, but unfortunately Chip Welch is very unprofessional and inexperienced as a businessman. He does not know how to negotiate and does not understand the fundamentals of problem resolution or good customer service. He also seems to forget that our country is based on the principles of capitalism which means competition... we are educated shoppers and shopped for the best deal. This was a very disappointing experience and we will not return when its time to buy our next Ford, which will be a F150. We would not trust their service department to work on my new Explorer or any other vehicles! Response to Chip's comments: First off, I never even had any conversation with you inside of your showroom & never once, let alone "multiple times" told you I was a "Professional Yelper". Next of all, I never had any conversations with you at all until after my husband decided to cancel the sale, at which point we were outside after discovering that you wanted us to take delivery of a brand new car that had a factory defective window AND was damaged by your employees. I never acted irrationally in our dealings and I very much doubt that if I broke your brand new property that you be happy if I just offered to fix it and not compensate you for the inconvenience it caused you during the repairs. (Not to mention potential problems down the road by work that may or may not be done correctly at the dealership.) And you know good and well that our conversation was cordial. I purchased a vehicle from here 10 years ago and had a good experience. Therefore, I decided to come back to OC Welch Ford to purchase another vehicle. My wife found the car she wanted so I drove to the front of the dealership to park, go inside, and place a deposit on the car my wife wanted. However, as I was fixing to turn left into a parking space up front, a Ford Mustang approached from the opposite direction and stopped to let a woman out of the car, and they were kind of just taking their time. Behind the Mustang, a white early 2000s Mercedes C class was approaching from the rear. I was driving my Ford F-250, the Mustang was stopped near my rear tire facing the opposite direction, and the Mercedes stopped at the rear of the Mustang, preventing me from turning left. The Mercedes driver stops, looks up at me, and throws his hands up in the air. Then the man motions for me to roll my window down so I do. He's wearing a Ford polo shirt and tells me how he needs to get around. I tell him I need to turn left into the open parking spot (which I could have already done by this point if he hadn't needed to be right up on the rear of the Mustang). The Ford employee then begins to explain how I can pull forward to allow him around, then back up, and then make my turn. His instruction wouldn't have been a problem except for his condescending delivery, and if I were to apply the same logic, he could have backed up so I could park and then be on his way. I mean, I'm the one fixing to spend money at this place of business. Nevertheless, I did as the man asked and he zoomed away. I thought, wow he wanted to get out of here in a hurry. I guess his actions rubbed off on me because I turned around and got out of there too. The reason I gave a 2-star rating instead of 1-star is that I had a conversation with Sam Elliott on the phone while on the way to the dealership. Quick Lane...joke of a title. Not sure the point of an appointment. Drive 30min from Beaufort to their dealership...8:30am appointment for an oil change and tire rotation on prepurchased Ford service plan. Arrive at 8:20am, check in...board says they have 30 appointments so it'll be 90min...again, why make appointments then...not told where to wait, where to sit, nothing...100min later (90min from appointment time), truck hasn't moved from where I parked it. Vehicles have been in and out of all 5 open bays, now 4 bays sit empty for 10min with no traffic... What makes it worse...ZERO communication. Not a word. Go inside and ask when the truck is going back, feel like I'm the inconvenience. 10:05am...95min after the appointment time, they finally come move it to a bay...10:44am and it's finally out of the bay and parked...10:55am I go get my own paperwork...no check sheet for multi point or The Works included... This experience was a great way to make sure the next of my many Ford Roush and King Ranch truck purchases are not made here, nor service any of my other Ford vehicles here again. read more

I purchased my 2020 Ford Mustang convertible GT in January of this year. I wanted to make an appointment for my 10,000 mi service. I called to make the appointment four different times left my name and phone number of how to get back to me. I have yet to hear from anybody at the dealership. I am a former Ford employee and would have expected a phone call back from my selling dealership. I hope that the general public coming into service their vehicles have a lot more professionalism and courtesy extended to them than I have received . I had a clutch that was failing on my 2012 Focus. They didn't have the part on hand, so they ordered it and said they would call me when it arrived for me to bring the car in. They never called. After a few weeks I called to check on the status and they said they would look into it and get back to me. They never did. I continued to call back and asked to speak to the manager. No reply. After two months we gave up on Ford and bought a new Toyota Corolla. Five months later still never heard from them... Out of curiosity I called them again. The service rep told me that the clutch was ready and when did I want to bring my car in, as if there hadn't been any delay at all. For some odd reason she became really rude and snippy when I told her I was now the happy owner of a new Toyota. Go figure! read more

I am traveling across country and needed an oil change and tire rotation. They quoted me 45 minutes, it took an hour and a half. They rotated my tires, but didn't fix the air pressure, now it's 70 in the front and 65 in the back, the opposite of what it should be.. I got the works package but didn't get a report on things like brake ware, tire wear, transmission oil etc. I asked for full synthetic but my invoice doesn't have an up charge for synthetic.... I asked them to look up the price for trailer tire monitoring system and they said they would, but no follow up... We were driving from North Carolina to palm harbor FL for an unexpected death in the family. We were in our new motor home and unknowingly our exhaust pipe fell off sending fumes exhaust into our vehicle. We had to drive to the closest Ford dealer which luckily in this case we found our way to OC Welch. We're were able to get the part that we needed but unfortunately we didn't have the right wrench to secure the new part. This dealership does not work on RVs but they were able to find two service technicians who came out and helped my husband get the part attached properly so that we could safely travel down the road. There are still good people left in this world, today they were our angels. I highly recommend this dealership and would be happy to do business or reckoned them based on their kindness today. read more

I first sent my wife over with the car for 3 things---- Ford recall for steering wheel bolt, oil change and slow leak for the right front tire. After waiting 2 hours, they needed to replace the 1 tire for $250. Wow. They wouldn't do the oil change or recall and said we needed to schedule an appointment. I went back for the oil change and recall. 3.5 hours later I ended up with new rear brakes and rotors. 40,000 highway miles and the rotors had never been turned, yet I needed new ones. No one wants to gamble with safety. While Karl was friendly and apologetic, I hope not to have other repairs for a while. Oil changes are OK. Much more expensive than Ford dealers in the northeast by at least 40%. read more

Linda in Parts, wow she's amazing, so nice and full of information and knowledge. Michele McQueen she knows it all, super friendly and can explain everything to you about warranties and services, the last one is Kae (think that's how you spell it) I had some things going on with my new 2022 f150 tremor, and he came out in a hurry to make sure we can make things right. All 3 of these employees are great, super friendly, treated me like family and most of all a human. They cared for my service and how I felt about things and wanted to make sure things were handled properly. Thank you to those 3 employees. read more

I took my 2016 Lincoln Navigator in for a minor issue with the rear actuator. I asked that he take a quick look at it to ensure that the parts are in stock. I told the service advisor that I only have one car and didn't want to come in twice for the same repair. He refused! Said they didn't stock parts!! Said I'd have to schedule 2 appointments. Talk about a complete lack of customer focus! I spent over $70k for this Lincoln and this is the service I get. Terrible! Never again. Stay away from OC Welch! read more

Buyer beware. I purchased a "gold certified" car and have quickly realized that means nothing. Since Memorial Day, they have had my car more than I have. It's the excuses about being short staffed - it kind of makes you wonder why everyone quits! One chat with the owner and you'll understand. They have my car again and it was promised for Monday . It's Saturday and I haven't heard a word. I call and get told they will "call me back". There's no communication from the service department at all. My car is gold certified yet everything being fixed and complained about within a month of owning was checked as "pass" on the gold certification. The owner cited more sales and less staff as the problem but it's been months and the staff has dwindled even more. They also told me the Ford updates themselves are terrible and the network is overwhelmed. That's not what you tell someone that was considering trading up !!! This is a nice dealership with fancy cars and everything and everyone else involved is overworked, overwhelmed, and the customer suffers as a result. I purchased the extended warranty and I'm wishing they would just buy my hot garage fake certified car back so I never have to deal with them again. read more

in 2015 we bought a 2015 MKX from OC Welsh. Last week our car lost all power on I 95 traveling at 75mph. My husband was able to glide to the side of the expressway successfully. Scariest time ever in our car. we could have been killed!!! We took it to OC Welch for an inspection. The service dept said that nothing showed up on their computer so we were told to take the car back and drive it. If this happened again we were told to bring it back. Totally insane lack of consideration that we could be killed if this car stalled and did this again. We called the owner of the dealership, OC Welsh, and he directed us to the service manager who said that he doesn't make money for servicing this type of problem because it does not show up on tJR car computer system. He will not look for any reasons That this car's engine stopped completely. Nothing on car screen Ford will not reimburse him for this type of investigation!!! I asked him if he would want his wife and children to be driving a car with this major problem!!! He was not concerned with our safety. Obviously neither is OC Welch, the owner. We bought an extended warranty when we bought this car in 2015. Serves no purpose in this situation. Don't ever ever buy a car from this dealership!!! We won't ever buy another Ford product again!!! Took over 2 hours for an oil change. Apparently they couldn't see that we had an appointment in the computer.

If I could I would leave a 0!! Towed my car in to get the clutch fixed and everything that could go wrong did!! I knew they were busy, I asked can you fix it in two weeks or less? It was a two day job. I was told yes. Two months later, you guessed it not done. Then I get called it's ready and I show up and the price is $1000 dollars more than quoted!!! After a long dispute, the price gets corrected and the car brought around. The car was not repaired and it was worse than when I dropped it off. I already paid and now still have no car. They take more than a week to fix it again! no offer to help, wash the car, or even a free oil change.... then I get the car and see not only how filthy it is but they scratched and damaged the driver side door and fender behind the door, with scratches and dents. Their answer... "I will make it right." they take it back wash the car and bring it back. The damage is still there in several places and they say, "I am done, you can take it to a body shop yourself." so I am supposed to pay for people damaging my car in several places ... they never actually tried to make anything right. never again will I go back!! read more

Wow- showed up 30 minutes early so I could get in and out for an oil change -they opened at 7:30 am , I was third in line, but they took others who came after me first- no good system of logging people in. 2 hours later I got my car back, apparently they did not have my oil filter in stock. Went in to get an oil change on my 2013 F350. These people are so nice and courteous. I was in and out in an hour.

And the pleasure of working with O.C. Welch just continues. NOT! Having just have my daughter drive the 30 minutes to this dealership for a steering column recall on our Fusion, she learns that her appointment for 7:45 AM had to be rescheduled. The person at the counter said that the service people would not be there until 8:45 AM (I believe). She was asked to either wait 1 1/2 hours OR reschedule--this time for four days later. Unreal. I've the same view of this dealership as before! They press me enough to continue to drive another 30 minutes to the Savannah dealership (J.C. Lewis) which has served me with courtesy. Hey O.C. Welch--Why not a phone call to us with this scheduling problem rather than having us drive out there? read more

I had a great experience with my 2016 F-250 pickup truck. While traveling from Virginia I developed shaking in my front end at 70 MPH. I stopped at Asheville Ford in NC who simply balanced the tires and sent me on my way. As this did nothing to help I stopped at Four Seasons Ford in Hendersonville, NC who aligned the front end, repaired the stabilizer bar, rotated the tires, charged me a lot of money and sent me on my way. This time the shaking started at 68 MPH! Upon reaching my destination in Hardeeville I had lost faith in Ford authorized repair and started shopping Firestone locations. As I really wanted technicians experienced with Ford products I gave Ford one more chance via O C Welch. After talking to Cindy at the Quick Lane service she recommended the main service department. I was immediately impressed with Elizabeth in the service receiving area. I felt that she made the effort to fully understand my problems and concerns. She ordered the parts I needed and sent me to Michael in the rental area to set up a vehicle rental for the next day's repairs. Michael was very friendly and professional. Elizabeth kept me informed of the progress of the parts order processing and repairs. She called me promptly once the repairs were complete. When I went in to pick up my truck I had to wait a few minutes for Elizabeth to return to the office from the shop. In the meantime two other service writers asked to help me. I was impressed that they went out of their way to acknowledge my presence in their office. I was pleased once again to finalize my transaction with the friendly Michael in rental and a friendly cashier. My truck now runs better than ever due to the anonymous mechanic who was diligent in his task. I have renewed faith in the Ford service franchise and wish we had this level of service and professionalism at our dealership back home. The service manager informed me that whoever performed the previous alignment (Four Seasons Ford) should have never been certified to perform that procedure! As a side note O C Welch had an incredible inventory and an immaculate showroom that included a cafe and a very nice HO railroad layout! It would have been fun to spend a few hours in there waiting for service. In a time of deteriorating customer service and job performance I found my experience here refreshing. When it it time to trade in my vehicle I am pretty sure it will be worth the drive to come to Hardeeville to conduct my transaction! read more

The worst experience I ever had. I had an issue with a 2018 Ford Escape with 3000+ miles. The plastic cowling on the windshield kept falling off and a sensor on the windshield came loose. OC Welch service rep Walt Becrurt , told me that Ford Company denied the claim. I wrote to Ford and received a letter stating the dealer made that decision and they stood by the dealer. They said I would be responsible for any repairs. Useless warranty. The service rep lied to me and tried to blame Ford for the decision. Either OC Welch or Ford Customer Service is lying to me. They are accusing me of damaging the vehicle which is simply not true. I will never use OC Welch for any service and I will never buy another Ford. read more

I called yesterday no less than 15 times to schedule a service for my Ford Edge. Started calling at 7:30 when the website said they opened. The phone just rings and rings. No one ever picks up the service line. I tired to call the main number as well the first time someone hung up on me when I asked to be transferred to the service center. The other two times I was sent to two random voicemails to which I did leave messages on and never got a call back. I eventually got to another person and tried to explain my frustration about not being able to get a hold of anyone and she just took my name and number and said someone would call me right back. It's been 24 hours and I haven't gotten any calls back. Not sure how they expect people to call to schedule service. I tried to schedule online but the service I was trying to inquire about was not an option. Had to go somewhere else. Sad because I purchased my car from this dealership and wanted to get it serviced here. read more
