This is a really nice sushi spot in midtown- great location and tasty food. I've been several times and have a great experience except for the most recent time. We waited over 2 hours to get our food. It was busy but other tables that arrived after us had food coming out well before we did. The food itself is delicious but it's really the ambiance that makes it better than several other sushi restaurants. read more

Went to O-Ku for our 10th wedding anniversary and could not have had a better experience! We say on the roof and the staff was so kind to us and made our date night a true celebration! What a let-down! Had dinner at O-Ku last night. Service was almost absent - after greeting us, our waiter didn't return for about 20 minutes to take the order. He came back in ten minutes to take the order again. I reminded him we'd already ordered. The food came out shortly thereafter in any case, but the rainbow roll was skimpy as hell. The pieces were one-nite each and the fish wasn't very tasty. At $15-$20 a roll, I expect a lot more. Worst part - in the women's bathroom, neither toilet was working so this supposedly classy restaurant had a music festival port a potti vibe.... read more

Best sushi place that I've been to in a while! There is complimentary valet, which makes parking stress free and the restaurant service is impeccable. The rolls and sushi are always fresh and unique. I definitely recommend going on Monday and Wednesday's 5-7pm for their happy hour. All sushi rolls are 50% off during this time. Definitely make a reservation if you're going during those houEveryone tends to order a lot during happy hour so it does take a little while for your food to arrive. I suggest getting a yummy appetizer, like the seaweed salad and a drink or two while you wait. During this visit I sat on the roof top. The vibe and energy up there is amazing! Seating is first come first serve so you have to be quick . The seating is arranged in a lounge style but there are also standing tables if you're up for being on your feet for a while. read more

Great spot for a date night! My bf and I decided we wanted sushi so we found this place and got a reservation on OpenTable. We arrived and luckily there was valet right in front of the restaurant. They sat us down immediately. The drinks were amazing! We both got the Showgun. Super refreshing! Then we got the rock shrimp tempura as our app and we were in LOVE! After hearing about their late night happy hour on Friday and Saturday evenings, I knew I had to check it out. I'd been to O-ku previously for dinner, and had a great time-- so the addition of half priced rolls was more than enough to entice me. We arrived for the late night happy hour around 11:15pm, and pretty quickly ordered our food. The place was not very busy, however it took us just under an hour to receive our food. I'm not sure what the issue was as there appeared to be 4 sushi chefs and maybe 7-9 tables occupied. It was even more frustrating as a table next to ours, that was seated about 20mins after us, received their dishes at the same time as ours. Luckily, the rolls were great, and the same size as the usual rolls at the happy hour price. We tried Red Dragon, Tuna Wrapped, over the Rainbow, and Classic Roll. My favorite was the Red Dragon which had a nice crunchy topping that gave the roll great texture. Also something to note, it's a limited assortment of rolls on the happy hour menu, and not all rolls are available during the special. You can only order the happy hour rolls listed, and nothing from the regular menu, which made it even more confusing why the service was so slow. You would think this would be to make service the most logistically feasible. Nonetheless, I would still recommend this for anyone looking for good sushi at a great price. Hoping the service issues are not the norm and would go back in a heartbeat. read more

WOW. Everything about our experience here was amazing! The best sushi we have had in the ATL area hands down. Ambiance, food, customer service all an A++. Sushi (chef's nigiri, $40). Some fish are good, some are not. For example salmon was not very good. Also nigiri size is not authentic, also wasabi amount was too much (not because I am not familiar with, I am Japanese and I have had sushi A LOT in Japan). Hokke misoyaki was really good and I really liked it. For only this I would give 5 stars. The restaurant is too dark. It was even hard to see menu. It should be slightly lighter. read more

Absolutely loved my 1st experience at O-my on a Wednesday evening that did include a resy. The food and service was spectacular! I mean like, servers walking around with platters of sliced citrus and asking "would you like lemon, lime or mint" in your water cups. I was supremely impressed by the service and honestly mimicked a 5 star restaurant experience. I would absolutely recommend the Mt. Fuji, the spyder sushi, and the crispy rice and I absolutely adored the sugar and spice cocktail! 2nd experience was kind of ridiculous, granted this was a Saturday night, no resy. We stood at the hostess stand for 20 min with no greeting and when I flagged down the manager we still had an additional wait while staff apparently had all hands on deck including the hostess whom I assume was busing tables. The managers however did surprise us with 2 complimentary shared dishes which were very tasty: edamame, and the shrimp. All in all, I would just say, weekdays are best bet and make a reservation every time. read more

I really liked O-Ku Sushi Atlanta. The ambience was amazing, great for a date, or just a casual meet up with some friends. Price points are great as well. High in quality, but not high in price. Which is a rare find in fine dining, and highly appreciated. Monday's and Wednesday's are half off most of the the sushi rolls, except for a few of them. So highly recommended you go on those days. My favorite was the Red Dragon Roll, spicy but not too spicy. Very flavorful, and satisfying. Last but not least, impeccable service. Our server was amazing. Very knowledgeable, and informative. Answered all of our questions, and checked on us regularly. read more

I recently tried O-Ku. It was really good! I had the sugar and spice with the habanero infused sake it was so good I actually had two. The atmosphere was very sexy. A little too sexy because it is kind of dark. I would love to go back and sit on the rooftop. I had the crispy rice, the tuna crunch, and the over rainbow and they were all super good. Our server's name was Marcel I think it was and he did a great job with his suggestions and he made sure we were taken care of all night. There is valet but oddly enough it is grouped with Barcelona so you may not know that it's available and it's a cheaper option than the parking deck. read more

HAPPY HOUR IS BACK is all I've got to say. O-ku is hands down one of my favorite sushi spots in ATL. Tuesdays/Wednesdays 5-7 is when they have a few appetizers and sushi rolls on sale. It's unfortunate the city views are now blocked by new construction but the vibes are still on par! Service can be a little slow, but one can imagine when it's happy hour and constantly packed. I have worked by O-Ku for over a year and they have no consideration for their neighbors. We've tried repeatedly to get them and another restaurant to actually put their garbage in the dumpsters. Take a look - it looks like this all the time - box is even marked with their name. Rats run rampant. This is steps from their restaurant. I wonder what their kitchen looks like?? Awful. read more

Honestly, I rarely write a one star review but I need to warn people about this restaurant. We arrived at 8:35 PM on a Sunday night when it was not busy. I know it was not busy because there were multiple tables that did not have anyone sitting. It took our table about 45 minutes for everyone to get there alcoholic beverages they had requested. After that it took over an hour for me to get my appetizer. Then it took until about 10:30 PM for everyone to get their entrées. Once we got our food it was really nasty and made me sick a couple of days later. Such a terrible experience! I saw Atlanta Hawk, Al Horford walk in the door with his wife and they were taken care of super fast. I guess you need to be a celebrity to get things done. Or maybe I should've thrown my Yelp Elite status out there to get things done? I shouldn't have to do that but unfortunately for this restaurant Yelp Elitists get more views that usual so let's see what happens! Do yourself a favor and go right around the corner to Eight Sushi Lounge which is the best sushi spot in Atlanta in my opinion! read more

This is my husband and I's favorite sushi spot. We usually come get sushi they do have a rooftop and just a little gem They have this really good frozen Firozeh at the rooftop. I typically get that was like a Titos floater would highly recommend and they also have some of the best spicy sushi but it's really good. read more

The sushi is fresh and fun new choices that some other restaurants dont have. Originally I came just for sushi without the beverage. However after our waiter disappeared on us I moved to the bar. I don't fault the guy, may have been given too many tables. Ended up at the bar. So got the wine and some rolls. As a sushi lover and seeing how I hadnt been upstairs yet, I wanted to give a nice get together with some friends. Disorganized at best. They said the GM would call back by weeks end and several days later they say they are fully committed, but still have seating open on opentable . I've since made a nice Chefs tasting elsewhere. So Meh can some up the overall experience. read more

We went here for date night & heard a lot about it. Part of the reason we went was for their rooftop views which we heard are beautiful. The weather was nice and permitting, so we planned on dining inside and then grabbing drinks after dinner at the rooftop. Well the rooftop was closed due to a party going on so no one was allowed :( Our dinner was okay, it was not as amazing as hyped up to be. The hot fish dish we got had too much sauce which overtook the flavor of the fish. The raw slightly charred octopus was the best part of the whole meal, which is in the appetizer portion. Our server recommended a whiskey to us because my date & I are both whiskey drinks, but forgot to mention the price. We were thinking $15 max for a whiskey on the rocks, and it ended up being $25 for one, so $50 for both. I myself was a server for 8 years in the past, and if a drink is that expensive and prices are not listed on the menu then you tell people right away, because $50 for 2 drinks is way too much and had we known we would not have ordered it. The inside of the place is beautiful and a good setting for date night. Overall it was an okay experience, and I am not so sure I would go back. read more

Came here for the late night happy hour with some friends and was really pleased! All of the rolls were half off- so amazing! The rolls were full size and SO delicious. The rooftop was open and it has a beautiful view of the city. Super cute ambiance with lights and casual seating. I had a roll with squid ink rice which was really interesting. Very complex flavors that worked so well together. I also had a more traditional roll with shrimp tempura. Both together were very filling! I enjoyed my meal along with a delicious, refreshing frosé. I'm still a baby in sushi years so I still don't know the ins-and-outs of the sushi world. I just know that O-ku made a great impression on me. We parked in the Interlock deck, but valet is available. The ambiance is great for a date night. I ordered the Mt. Fuji and it was perfect. I made a mistake by getting the eel sauce on the side. What a great date night spot! My SO and I went for dinner on Saturday night and the place was super packed. Good thing we had a reservation because we overheard the wait was about 2 hours :-O We tried: A5 Wagyu: Cooks at your table and literally melts in your mouth. FREAKING AMAZING. Took me back to when I had it in Japan. Black Magic Roll: Lobster with squid ink rice. Pretty good but crumbles easily when picked up. Few nigiri pieces (can't remember): Uni, tuna, scallop - BF confirmed it was good :) Otoro spoons: A MUST. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT ORDERING. Our server was also friendly and fun to chat with. Ugh I just love this place.. Especially in the warmer months! The rooftop is my favorite. It's super simple but adorable. Ive caught two sunsets here, just beautiful. The servers are super friendly and attentive and that makes all the difference. Thank You! My friend has a shellfish allergy and for a moment we looked at the menu and thought.... wait we can't eat here. But the server came by and said she can change up any of the rolls, and so we did! We got a salad, couple customized rolls and some virgin cocktails. My favorite roll is the Marilyn Monroll :) My friend from out of town loved it. We were happy campers. Our server, Richard was the absolute best and he made our experience so memorable that we will definitely be coming back and adding O-Ku to our list whenever we have a sushi craving! I love sushi but I'm very picky about the sushi I eat (ex. cream cheese doesn't belong in a sushi roll, it belongs on a bagel!). O-Ku has fantastic sushi, great drinks and a super sexy atmosphere. This is a great date night or fun night out with your friends/family spot. I had the Yellow brick road and soft shell crab spider roll. Both were delicious. We came for our anniversary, it says the valet parking was complimentary but it wasn't. We ordered our food at the same time but my fiancé got hers first and I had to wait. Then they brought the edamame last which was weird and it was so salty I had to dip it in soy sauce to make it less salty. Overall we spent $140 and left feeling pretty unsatisfied. read more

I FINALLY visited O-Ku after hearing about it for what seemed like forever and it was amazing! We visited on a Friday night which was surprisingly slow for them, but allowed us to receive GREAT service! We started out with the tempura shrimp as an appetizer and it was really good! My fiancée who doesn't even care for shrimp even ate some! For my entree I had the shrimp tempura roll and the spider roll! She had the teriyaki chicken entree. Everything was delicious and I left feeling full and happy! This is a very nice restaurant in the West Midtown district. Parking was horrible so I recommend Uber or Lyft, however the views and ambiance is well worth it! Definitely recommend checking it out! Oh and they have amazing drinks and our server was really good! Definitely will return here when the weather is warmer so I can enjoy the patio! read more

Service: seating was good but service was a little slow at the bar. Drinks: drinks were reasonably priced and strong, good sake and cocktail options available. Wanted to have sushi for Christmas Eve and came upon this place on Yelp. Loved it. The sushi was melt in your mouth fresh and so delicious. I haven't had sushi this good in a while. Parking situation: Complimentary valet available, though not really necessary if the place is not busy, like the night we went. The place/lot was pretty empty. Food: *Scallop Tiradito - soooo good, I didn't have high expectations but this was one of the best scallops dish I've ever had. No joke. *Otoro Spoons - you have to get this. This was probably my favorite dish. melt in your mouth goodness! *Sushi & Sashimi Moriawase - great selection of different types of sushi, very very delicious. *Over the rainbow roll - I thought this was nothing special, though the sushi was fresh, just the standard sushi roll. *Rock Shrimp Tempura - You're there for sushi, don't get this. I learned my lesson. But if you really want to know, this was salty and sour, breaded with a lot of flour. I guess if that's what you like then you might enjoy this. *Mochi Ice Cream - we got this for dessert. it was just ok. we could've bought this at hmart but... we wanted to be fancy I guess. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!

From the moment we made the reservation, the host was incredibly thorough, explaining all the policies, including the $5 valet fee and any potential extra costs. They even took the time to ask about my girlfriend's hobbies and favorite things, which was such a thoughtful touch. Getting there was easier than expected, and the valet service was fast and efficient. We were welcomed by the friendliest staff, and our waiter, Julian, was outstanding--charismatic, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu. I tried a sake-based cocktail, and it was hands down the best drink I've ever had. The sushi was absolutely phenomenal, and every single person in our group loved their meal. I order the omakase course meal. Sashimi was great taste but lacking of selections. The nigiri was bad. One too many sauce over my nigiri. Taste too much truffle oil this truffle oil that.. fish is just decent. They just have standard fish. Lets talk about rice! "Is undercooked" I'm surprise for the price that they charge, seem lacking quality control at the most basic "rice". Miso marinated cod is overly burn skin and salty. O toro tar tar was good, minus the truffle oil, is kinda overwhelm the flavor of toro. Overall i love the place for hang out and drinks but i dont think i will pay for the food. Ok-u (general manager Jon cell phone 864-704-0335) hired 180 Parking Services (owner Vince Smith cell phone 404-556-3775)...to valet cars at their restaurant. Someone from this valet company stole a $2,000 suit from my vehicle while I was dining at Ok-u restaurant. They won't provide the video surveillance nor offer any assistance in making this right. so both should be responsible. Neither companies have taken responsibility. It's a shame that these business could care less about their clients. I was hoping somewhere within these organizations a leader would emerge and make this right. As of now...legal counsel has been obtained to go after both the restaurant and the valet company. read more

My favorite sushi place in Atlanta. I recommend either the downstairs bar or outdoor seating which is upstairs for the excellent view of the downtown Atlanta cityscape. BUT, it's about the food! Get the Over the Rainbow Roll and the Hamachi Carpaccio - yellowtail, cilantro, a slice of Serrano pepper and lots of garlic sauce. read more

The part that actually soured it: we were taking photos because we were thrilled to be there, doing exactly what the chefs were encouraging. A nearby guest seemed annoyed that we were enjoying ourselves, and instead of anything being said to her, a server came over and singled me out. In a bright, loud room, while the chefs were actively performing for the cameras, that felt backwards. It made the happiest, most engaged people at the counter feel like the problem. Lauren happened to be there enjoying the restaurant as a guest and helped inspire a cocktail recommendation. Jada Marie crafted a fantastic drink and even let me sample one of her custom creations, which was absolutely delicious. The service from both Lauren and Jada Marie was warm, personable, and memorable. Between the outstanding cocktails, excellent hospitality, and a Thai basil fried rice dish that I am already craving again, Sri Thai has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Atlantic Station.
