Service was okay. Food was disgusting. Maybe I just know ramen noodles. They screwed up edamame. How is that possible? The ramen is your ordinary prepackaged grocery chain type. Not fresh. The tofu ramen tasted like nothing. The garlic fried rice was good consistency, off flavor. The miso soup had all of the salt that was missing from the edamame. The Bento Box (Teriyaki Chicken) was so-so. The chicken was okay, the salad dressing was bland and drowning the prepackaged lettuce. Pot Stickers were just greasy, gummy and non palatable. If you want real Ramen drive North to Fresno and go to NoodleQ. The person who owns this restaurant needs to go to NoodleQ and become an apprentice there to see how Ramen should look, taste, and be created. You're better off with a Cup O' Noodle than this place. This Ramen is good. Best in Bakersfield. I'm a really picky Ramen eater too. The boiled egg was cooked perfectly! It was like melt in your mouth good. I liked the broth and the noodles were perfect. Never have been a true fan of Ramen always was willing to try new places. Since my son and my wife are fans of Ramen we decided to try this new place. If I could give it more than five stars I would one of the best places I have to say outside of Japan here in the states. We will definitely be back. A must if it is available is the lava cake for dessert and definitely for an appetizer tried the monkey ball the chicken tempura is excellent. I ordered the Tantanmen Ramen and it was a little heavy on the nori flavor; however, was still very good! Maybe needed more noodles and maybe a touch more al dente! Flavor was still good and spice was spot on! Monkey balls were yummy with the spices mayo! All in all I'd go back. read more

This is tied for my favorite Japanese restaurant. At first I claimed Kamisama Ramen was better but having gone back to Kamisama Ramen it was better in my memory than in real life. The spicy pork Ramen is wonderful as are the fried mushrooms and the cold udon noodle dish. read more

This is typically my spot for ramen so I go here once in awhile, and I usually have good experiences. Last time I came, I opened my to-go container and the serving size of the ramen was significantly less than what I'm usually given. There was at least an inch from the top of the bowl down that was empty when it's usually packed to the brim. Nonetheless, flavor is still there, and the kick to the Tantanmen is tasty. read more

First ramen spot I've tried, and this was a good place to try! The food is super authentic, and the broth is very flavorful. I ordered the Won Ton Ramen while my husband ordered the Beef Ramen. Naturally, his broth had more flavor because there was meat in there, I would say mine was more on the vegetarian side, because I didn't really have meat, and it didn't seem like the won tons had a meat filling? But I could be wrong. It's a cozy little spot, and the wait wasn't long at all. We will definitely be back to try the other ramen bowls they have! read more

I'm not sure whether or not I caught them on the off day or if I ordered the wrong thing. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen which is at a good price, the service was alright. But the flavor was not as good as I thought it would be considering the other reviews it got. Personally, I think Ive had better ramen at another place in Bakersfield. But maybe I got the wrong type of ramen here. So we'll see next time. read more

If you're looking for great SoCal authentic ramen this is not the place. Ramen is all about the broth and this place has very average broth. Super bland and lacking rich well developed pork and miso flavor like Ramen places in Little Tokyo or Orange County or even franchises like Ajisen Ramen. Ramen broth should taste like it's been boiled for days and thickened over time with a savory richness. They didn't have a spicy option or tsukemono either. I always come here but today I'm fed up, this waitress makes me feel like a moron. I ordered the wrong thing on accident and she made me feel targeted and was unpleasant on taking my order. I heard her talking about us to the cook (tall guy with the hat) which put pressure on me. Every time I get food here it's always the same thing with her giving me the wrong order. I'm a frequent customer at this place, I love the food, but the service is terrible mainly towards my usual waitress that I feel like she has a personal vendetta against myself & my girlfriend. I feel unwelcome and uncomfortable when I eat because of her. I don't know her name, but she has glasses, her hair is in a ponytail, and looks like she is in her mid 20's. I would like it if I felt welcomed, and not humiliated by her and her coworkers. I love O'Ramen, but these experiences make me not want to go back. read more

Really, really excellent ramen. Have eaten ramen all over Asia (and at excellent ramen places in Las Vegas), and O Ramen's version is really legit. The broth is properly made; not thin and watered down at all. Great service, clean bathroom, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended. read more

This new spot is the best ramen in Bakersfield. Its not perfect, mind you - the noodles maybe slightly too stiff, the broth slightly too salty, the chasu maybe too soft. That being said, all of these criticisms are mere quibbles. Fast and friendly service. Will certainly be back. read more
