Both headlights went out at the same time - so I went to 2 different stores for headlights and…read moreadvice, the first store was out of stock, and the second store told me I couldn't return the headlights if I opened the box. I thought it might be an electrical issue, but I agreed to get the headlights - and then I was told they were out of stock there, too. I called to confirm the lights were in stock here, and I was really happy when the guy helping me asked to check out my car before selling me anything. He then proceeded to actually put the headlight in to make sure it worked! When it did, I expected to pay for both and replace the other on my own but he replaced the 2nd one for me too. Granted, he probably only did this because I'm a younger female and I don't look like a car expert. Then, when I couldn't close the hood right away (again, not a car expert), he came back out with WD-40 to fix that too. It's really rare that you find a helpful (honest) employee at an auto-parts store, but I was overly pleased with the service today. I'll be sure to come back here for any other troubles I'm having.

Big, quintessential Chicagoans with a south side accent and heartfelt knowledge. Between all of them, they might know the entire history of the automotive world. Can't imagine they'll know it for long though, given the intense smell of paint throughout the store! :) I went there to pick up a pint of touch up paint for a vintage car. I walked out with way more knowledge about how to apply it than I asked for. They really seem to care almost to a fault: I was gonna hear what they had to say whether or not I wanted to hear it. But that's OK. My guess is that 99% of the time their customers WANT to hear it and the other 1% probably NEEDS to hear it (like me).
