The last 2 visits in 2026 napa oreillys went better than my 2021-2025 visits . Staff friendly but not engaging. They always seem overworked occupied with others. No greeting when i came in. They had most of the basic stuff i needed. Major Shortage on funnels. Out of the $0.99 cent ones. No effort to ask for loyalty or push related items. I usually just go elsewhere due to high prices, minimal parking, impersonal interactions. The counterman did drop what he was doing and came out right away to scan our check engine light. I was driving in Napa, CA, when my check oil light flashed on my car dash panel. So after I checked the dip stick, and I did an online search for an auto parts shop. O'Reilly popped up as the one closest to where I was at. First of all, the store is in the older part of Napa. Non touristy part. It's in an area where real life people live. The shop is on Jefferson Street, near the corner of Lincoln Avenue. I went during the day (daylight) and didn't felt unsafe. But always have your wits about you. The store was cleaned, well stocked, and organized. The staff was helpful and kind, well at least the crew I dealt with this past Saturday was. I easily found what I needed on the shelf . There is an employee at this location by the name of Ruben who is a horrible customer service rep who works at this location that has a really bad attitude. His own manager Michael even confirmed it and stated that he gets a lot of complaints. I had my girlfriend go into the store to pick up the product I purchased online for her car. Ruben proceeded to tell her that the product I purchased for her was not logged in their system and she was told to come back in an hour. When she returned an hour later, Ruben proceeded to try to take advantage of her and upsell her on a product she didn't need. He began getting crazy with her so I called and he tried to upsell me on a product I prepaid for online already and proceeded to tell her and myself that the product we purchased online is going to destroy her engine. I told him that I got confirmation that the product I chose was correct from a store here in LA. He said this is what your girlfriend said very angrily and said that we people are all the same and then hung up in my face. Remind you, we are both African American and I took huge offense to the comment he made. I called back and asked to speak to his manager and he tried to lie and say he was the manager and so I asked him one more time if I can speak to his actual manager of this Napa, CA store location and this is when the actual store manager came on the phone and confirmed that Ruben gets a lot of complaints and when I asked why he was still working at that location, he said that he is not the one to fire him and it had to come from corporate. DO NOT ALLOW RUBEN TO SERVICE YOU. HE TRIES TO COME OFF LIKE HES KNOWLEDGEABLE BUT HE IS NOT AND WILL GET REALLY AGGRESSIVE WITH YOU WHEN YOU TELL HIM WHAT YOU ACTUALLY WANT AND PAID FOR AS WELL. read more

I have never written a Yelp review before today. The manager and staff were so helpful with assisting me changing a turn signal bulb for my Son's Escape. The store MAnager came out to the car to diagnose the issue then made sure I got the right bulb. Bernice even helped with gettin me a screwdriver so I could access the light bulb holder in the car. She did not have to do that. All said, I would go out of my way to visit this store and staff again. I went in seeking advice as to how to fix the rubber placing on my driver door. I asked if I needed a special kind of super glue to connect rubber to metal. The overweight middle-aged employee was shouting at me in slightly slurred speach like he was either very hungover or actively drunk. He went on about how I should fix it with JB Weld. JB weld? For a car door? That could seal my car door closed...he then went on to explain that I shouldn't do it if I ever planned to sell the car and then laughed at me very condecendingly as if he were trolling me and wasn't serious at all. Then he started making bad jokes about used cars and started saying how people don't know how to take care of their cars and insinuating that I was completely ignorant. As soon as I brushed it off and just decided to get super glue this guy is laughing me out of the store. I don't have time for this buddy, dealing with a very possibly drunk salesperson is not on the top of my to-do list. This crew is unethical. I went in today to buy brake pads for my son's car. The kid at the counter ("Diego Q." according to the receipt) goes back to grab them, and puts them on the counter in front of us. He subtly drops a little packet of grease on top of the brake pad box, scans it (as if he was just scanning the brake pads), and tells us what the total is. For both. If I hadn't been paying attention, I wouldn't have noticed that he charged us an extra $1.50 for this teeny packet of grease that I didn't ask for. (Yes, I know what the grease is for. I have a couple of them at home from previous brake jobs, when I deliberately paid for them.) I asked him why he did that, and he got a smirk on his face and said "That's what we do." I made him take it off. After I paid, I pressed him again on why he would do that, and he said, with that same smirk, "That's how we do here bro!" and just WALKED AWAY. I put on my Karen wig and asked to speak to the manager. But what good does that do when the manager is in on the ruse? The manager told me that they "always recommend and then ask first" when there's a useful item related to the one you're purchasing. Which is totally reasonable, of course. The deniability is totally plausible. I said "But you DON'T always ask first - this kid just threw it on there and scanned it without asking me." Without missing a beat, and without even looking at the kid standing right next to him, the manager tells me these guys at the registers are "like his little kids" that he has to train on how their policies work. But he didn't say a word to the kid, who was standing right there, and the kid didn't appear the least bit remorseful. And that was the tell. He's training them all right. At least be original. The auto repair industry is so rife with dishonesty and praying on people who may not know any better as to be comically cliche. Better yet: make your money honestly, by selling something people need, being helpful and treating them with respect. Don't make your money dishonestly by preying on your distracted - or just nice, or embarrassed - customers. That's not how you build trust, and it's tantamount to theft. Shame on you guys. read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I could give zero stars I would. Elis an employee of the store threw the ignition switch that I wanted to purchase across the store, and beyond the counter! Not only is this behavior uncalled for his temper is dangerous. Here is the full story: I called to check if they had the part I need. The person over the phone said yes they would have it up at the front counter for me. When I arrived I told Elis this. He completely ignored what i said and then proceeded to look in his computer for this part. After 5 minutes I again reminded him that the part was supposed to be already up at the front. After 10 minutes I proceeded to look around the counter top my myself and found it. Right near by. He wasted 15 minutes of my time. When I made a comment that "It was up here all the time." he took the switch threw it! and said so everybody could hear "I'm not selling you that switch and went into the back!" I went in to purchase a head light/lamp for my car & He was 1 of 2 People working the back @ the time, He nicely greeted me asking what He could help me with, told Him the make & model of the car , He pulled up the information however there were very different prices , 1 under $20 & 1 $100!! He did not hesitate to say let's go take a look to see which 1 you need, He nicely removed the bulb & eagerly showed me the bulb & how burnt out it was in more than 1 spot! It was cute! Went in the store, found the right 1, I went & paid for it and without asking He started walking back outside & put the bulb in!! Truth be told, I worked here for about 5 years, and lets say things have changed a bit. I like this place still although I prefer Autozone but they did not have the part that I needed so I fired up the ol internets and did some online shopping at this establishment. Much to my shagrin, the parts I needed were not actually there, but could be there by 3:30. Fingers don't fail me now! I rapidly purchased it online and read the after care instructions which stated I would receive and email when the parts were ready. Should be about 3:30 or so. So I get all mentally geared up for the festivities ahead and shazam!!!! I get the attached email and I was like BONUS, Ill go grab it right now. I leave work, haul ass down to O'Reilly and make my way to the back of the store. A guy offers to help me and I hand him my i.d. and he says, oh, those wont be here until tomorrow. I said, hey wait one second, I just got an email stating that the parts were here.....he comes back with, "Oh, that doesnt really mean they are here". Tons of potholes. The mattress store nearby looks like it has a sag pond. O'Reilly is a good place for emergency purchases, like windshield wipers. They carry various sizes. This place is now O'Reilly Auto Parts, not Kragen. I WISH, I WISH, I WISH I had gotten the names of the young men who helped me, because I would sing all sorts of praises about them! I was on my way back to Oakland at night when I realized not one, but both my headlights were out. With a sleeping child in the back, there was definitely a bit of panic and I didn't want to resort to being the ass using her high beams on. Luckily, these guys came to my rescue. I was super lucky they were open as this all went down around 9:00 pm. The guy helping me easily located the lights I needed and came out to help me replace them because, well, I have no idea how to replace headlights. Also, one of my parking lights was out and he was kind enough to help me replace that as well. There was some difficulty removing one of the lights and his friends, who happen to be purchasing some items, came out to help as well which I thought was the sweetest thing. Even with the stubborn part, I was in and out in about 20-30 minutes. The entire experience was easy and they were all incredibly friendly. I have a corporate account with them and can not deal with the way they do business. On my monthly statement there is an option, that if you pay early you get a two percent discount. No where on there does it say there is no discount if you use a credit card but guess what they tell you. In fact I used to pay with my bank account and I did not realize they even offered a discount. Napa Auto parts immediately puts the discount on my bill and does not care how I pay. I would spend a lot more with O'reilly"s if they treated their customers like Napa does. I spend four to five times the amount in a week at Napa, then I do for the whole month at O'reilly's and their customer service and silly rules is why. read more

Twice its happened to me that they gave me the wrong oil filter for my car, it was a very inconvenient since I live in Saint Helena. I had the oil drained, ready to put the filter, and guess what?? My boyfriend has an '86 Chevy suburban and is awesome condition but needed a new axel for his back wheels, being that it's clearly a much older car, they obviously wouldn't have it in stock (understandable), so my boyfriend ordered the part he needed and they said it would be here in a week or less. THAT WAS A WHOLE MONTH AGO.... Now, a month may not seem very long, but having your only form of transportation on blocks for an entire month, can make someone pretty angry. the worst part is!! When we called to see what was going on, or where it was, we talked to some of the most incompetent people we've ever met. They knew NOTHING about what we were talking about and it wasn't until 1000 calls later that we were even transferred to a "closing manager" who then gave me a sincere apology and said he'd "handle it" *fingers crossed on that one* PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
