The sign on the window says "Best Sushi in Town." Uh, no, I don't think so. This place is in a sketchy strip mall. It is probably the classiest business in that particular strip mall. It's kind of like having the best house in a really bad neighborhood - it's still a bad neighborhood no matter how nice the house is. When I walked in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, the hostess / server greeted me and told me to sit anywhere I wanted. In fact, service was good, and I would give them four stars if for service. They have an extensive menu - lots of different rolls. I noted, however, that most of the rolls were California rolls with something on top. This allows them to make tons of Cali rolls early and then just top them when orders come in. The rolls sit around until they get used. Hmm, fresh? Maybe not so much. I ordered the sushi lunch that came with six pieces of nigiri and a spicy tuna roll. Soup and salad at the beginning. Soup was kind of bland. Salad was fine. When the sushi came, I was pretty impressed with the size. Taste and temperature were not so great. The fish was definitely room temp. Some of the fish was fishy tasting. I did not get sick after I ate it, so nothing was bad - it just wasn't all that good. Don't think I will be back any time soon. read more

I have dined at O! Sushi several times now and not once have I left disappointed. Who knew some of the best sushi in town could be found in the heart of Roseland? What I love about this place is that the sushi rolls are extremely creative. There must be at least a hundred roll options on the menu. Not to mention, their portions are HUGE! Definitely a plus when you're ordering multiple rolls to be shared amongst the table. What's more to love is that their prices are reasonable and the service is great. I recommend trying any of their sashimi style salads, the Toto Roll, and the Baked Salmon Roll (it seriously melts in your mouth!!). read more

I came to this place after moving to St Helena for culinary school and was very happy with the service and the quality of my experience. Joseph the sushi chef is awesome and always talks to you when you sit at the bar. Every time I come out to this place it's a 40 minute drive each way and is worth every minute! Never have I written a review right after eating but I had to tell the world or at least yelpers how amazing the dill sake was! The salmon was incredibly fresh and melted in your mouth with the delicious lemon and ponzu sauce it was marinated in. The dill gave it the perfect touch! It was delicious and the best piece of sushi I've had my whole 29 years of life! More dill sake please! The service was quick and to the point. I had to subtract a star for the use of imitation crab in two of the rolls (dragon and rainbow) I ordered. I was confused as to why it was used since there was already crab salad in it. I felt they were downgrading their rolls when it would of been delicious without! You can't get sushi cheaper and more delicious than this in Sonoma County! read more

We are so thankful to have this little hidden gem! We get take out from here every week, literally, and have never once been disappointed. We love the chirashi, slices of sashimi on a bed of seasoned rice with fukaki. All the rolls we have tried are great but we adore the 49'er, with thinly sliced lemon on top. My only complaint is that the to-go containers are styrofoam but the chef said he is looking into more eco friendly options. I highly recommend this spot! read more

Yum yum yum! We order California rolls, dragon rolls, a golden dragon roll and calamari. The calamari portion was small and very lightly fried, but still good. The rolls were all amazing. I'd definitely come again. Then the waiter let us know the dessert was free and it was fried Oreos! We obviously agreed and they were delicious! All five of us loved them. They were very messy. Pretty casual sushi place with an emphasis on - and very wide selection of - designer rolls. Ingredient quality and preparation was good, with a lot of imaginative options available along with the standards. The rolls are huge - my wife and I shared three of them, which at most sushi places we'd finish off without issue; here we ended up bringing quite a bit home with us. The sushi chef/proprietor is really friendly, and the other wait staff we dealt with was fine, and service was good. This probably isn't the best place to go if you're looking for an authentic Japanese experience, but if you're looking for a more Americanized take on sushi it's one of the best options around. read more

We love O'sushi! We were welcomed every time we walk in the door. The sushi is always fresh and even the new things we try is always amazing. The beer is cold and the staff is really nice. I love all the options with shrimp tempura rolled in. Our favorite is the Spicy crunch roll and miso soup. I would t normally come to this part of town for sushi but, so glad we found it. We are some serious sushi lovers and wanted to try DoorDash on a weeknight. This was our first experience with O! Sushi and WOW. The presentation was beautiful with vibrant colors and fresh flavors. I love the way they score the Nigiri as if they're proudly displaying the freshness. And this was take-out! Tried the New Bay Bridge Roll. loved. I was unimpressed with O! sushi, to say the least. The service is friendly and the sushi rolls are huge (which I definitely like to see), but the sushi didn't taste fresh and the flavors didn't mesh well. I want yelpers to know that the sushi rolls here are huge because they pack the rolls with A LOT of rice. Which makes you feel full real quick, of course, but you don't necessarily get a proportionate amount of seafood. One negative side effect of having huge rolls is that we waited a long time to receive our sushi (even with a half-filled restaurant). read more

What's the first thing on your mind when you walk into an empty restaurant? Maybe its, "Where are all the people?" or "Should I go through with this?" So, as the sushi chef Strolled out melancholic, I thought I'd inquire about the wrapped fish in the counter on this Tuesday, "When do you receive fish?" A dismissive, "Everyday." escaped the mans mouth riding on the back of deceit and arrogance. Unwilling to yield and order a cooked dish as I considered prior to arriving, I further inquired, " Do you use a local buyer, maybe someone in the Bay Area?" Now, left eye twitching the chef growled back," No Bay Area buyer, why do you care?" I was perfectly willing to order something else off the menu and come back for sushi some other day, but with a close of the menu and a wishing of good luck I headed for the door. On the edge of Roseland, surrounded by taquerias, you'll find this sushi place. The waiter said it had already been open 8 or 9 months, so apparently business is working out! The rolls were huge! For the price, you really get a great value. I was here for dinner. The three of us ordered three rolls and an appetizer. We also got a bowl of salad and miso soup (with the smallest pieces of tofu ever). The rolls were great tasting. Not only where they really long, they had a substantial girth. The roe seemed fresh and the drizzled sauces were tasty. A small dessert pineapple was included as well. Overall, I think I'm coming back. I wish I would have grabbed a menu - there were an overwhelming number of choices and rolls - for a takeout trip. The restaurant can use a bit more ambiance, though. read more

This new business off Sebastopol Rd, is my new favorite sushi joint in Santa Rosa. The place is tucked away in a strip mall, and can easily be looked over, but just look for the sign. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the sushi chef behind the counter. It was early early in the afternoon, and seating was easy to find. The menu is easy to read, most of the specials are accompanied by photographs. I ordered a miso soup, an I Love You roll, and a salmon melty (don't know if I got the name right). The Melty was creamy and rich, served warm. I haven't eaten much hot sushi in my life, but I'm now a fan. My sushi roll has Macedonian nuts on it, which is also new for me. It was reasonable priced, and I didn't leave hungry. The place could use one more waiter during the daytime, she seem overwhelmed, and was the only one working there. I took my friend here for Mothers Day and it was wonderful. Ordered a dragon roll, salmon skin roll, rock n roll and a California crunch roll. The presentation was out of sight and the service was stellar. This is my favorite sushi spot in Rosa because they really put great care in their sushi prep and presentation and the price is great compared to Boathouse which I find overprice and smaller rolls...and thru serve pineapple for dessert!
