Came here for the first time the other night. Everything was very good. We ordered a lot of food and an individual in my party spoke korean so ordered in korean so i'm not exactly sure what we ordered. But from what I remember the brisket was 10/10, we got two types of steak, one marinated and one not marinated. I think I liked the not marinated one better. The pork belly was okay. We got steamed eggs and also the little rice cakes. The pork gyozas were fried and very good. My only concern was that someone from my party felt very ill right after. This was my first time at O2; I've heard so many great things about this place so I had to try it for myself! The price is a bit pricier than other AYCE in the area but I'd say the quality definitely justifies the price. Service is very quick and the waiters do a good job at cooking the meat. The grill is the same as the one in Cast Iron Pot, which I liked since it was big and can fit lots of food on. The pork jowl was so so good, anyone who likes pork belly should try pork jowl, its less dry than pork belly! One thing I would say is to not get the mixed drinks, it was pretty watered down to the point it tasted like diluted juice; I'm not even sure if there was alcohol in it! I do want to try to come again and try different meats. Maybe next time ill try other drinks as well. Found this place bc I was craving kbbq so badly and this place hit the spot! You can make reservations online at least 1 hour in advance day of. The meats were delicious and the people working there are so nice! The workers help you and come by to check in on your meats to make sure it's not burning. The banchan was delicious. We ordered the brisket, kalbi steak, pork belly and bulgogi for the meats and had lettuce wraps, salad, and spicy tofu soup as the sides. The meat portions they give out were huge for 2 people so definitely come with more people or maybe ask for half portion if they allow it. For an all-you-can-eat restaurant, it is quite affordable. They have a huge selection of meats, which we enjoyed very much; as well as good drinks. We had a little bit of everything and loved it all. Came here with a group of 5 people on a Saturday night and the wait was not too bad. The restaurant was crowded enough so we felt a good bustling vibe and the restaurant itself was very spacious and clean. The only distracting is all the TV (playing kpop) they have on their wall. It almost felt like I was walking into an electronic store. As for the menu, it was AYCE and they offered a lot of choices, except for the one cut that I really like, which is kalbi on the bone. Regardless, their other selection was good and I like that their meat was not too overly marinated. As for the cooking method, I wasn't too thrill with. Instead of being able to grill my food, I was pretty much cooking it over an iron skillet. For me, I prefer charcoal and I think it definitely makes the meat taste better, especially with the smokiness that blinds my senses with joy. As for the staff, they were great! They were very attentive and was constantly on hand to help us with any assistant and kept on changing our grill when needed. We have been to O2 a few times now and each time was fantastic. We have made a reservation each time we have been and I would definitely suggest doing that. There can be a wait as this is a popular spot. You can park in the parking deck for free or you can street park out front. The street parking is paid but it is a shorter walk to the restaurant. Now for the food, amazing. It is $36 for AYCE and all of the selections are great. My favorite is the beef bulgogi - perfectly seasoned and very good. There is a great banchan selection and there are many drink choices as well. The location is large and good for a big group or for families. read more

Unwittingly stumbled upon this place with a friend looking for soup because I was recovering from indigestion. I know, AYCE K-bbq seems like the last place to go to when you're recovering from indigestion. But read on to find how my indigestion journey turned out. Nestled in the ghostly Galaxy Mall, thankfully you don't have to go through the said ghostly halls because they have an outdoor entrance in front. Parking was easy on a late weekday lunch (street meter parking you can pay with app), but I can imagine it'd be much harder on a weekend unless you utilize Galaxy's parking. We were waiting to be seated and when they did seat us, we were slightly puzzled because the table had veggies up on their cast iron pot lid which they use as the grill, along with assortment of banchans. So this is when we realized our mistake - you can't order anything without going auto-bbq. Haha, our fault, not theirs. So what the hey, we just went for meat BBQ anyway after looking at possibility of doing vegetable bbq which was gonna make our day, SAD. :( How it works is that after agreeing to go with AYCE bbq, you order whatever you want from 1) meat section as well as 2) side section. So we ordered from the side section the steamed egg and what we came for - the Sogogi Moo Gook (beef & radish soup - comfort food!). Soup was surprisingly good and calmed my upset stomach quickly and revved up my appetite soon enough. We ordered beef brisket, Top blade steak (unmarinated), gopchang (cow small intestines, aka "Chitterlings"), Kalbi marinated steak, and pork belly. Brisket (4/5) - Crowd pleaser to get BBQ on. Order this in the beginning to get your buds ready for action. The curvature of the pot lid cooking surface makes this less fatty and when dipped in the mustard sauce, it's perfect. Top blade steak (5/5) - Our favorite pick of the day! Thick and juicy with great beef taste all you gotta do is dip lightly in rock salt & pepper to really bring the flavor out. Small intestines (3/5) - I'm a gopchang fan so I can't help but order it when I go to AYCE BBQ places (they tend to be more $, too), and while they were crispy when cooked throughly, they weren't as fresh and "popping" with flavor. Pork belly (2/5) - Supposed to be a top contender in any K bbq joints, this was surprisingly lackluster. A bit too fatty with not enough bounce and lacking in that hallmark nutty flavor. Kalbi marinated steak (3/5) - Less fresh than the top blade steak and just so-so tasting. Opt for the top blade if you're a serious meat fan. Service was on point, though considering the time they were pretty free. It may seem like we ordered a lot, but because portions in general are smaller than what you'd get at a non-AYCE places, it was just the right amount of food for two. After the meal, I felt good - the quality was definitely there and their sides were thoughtfully crafted to compliment the AYCE. Though I was skeptical, this was a great k-bbq experience that I hadn't expected, and I recommend this place to anyone looking for good AYCE k-bbq around the area. Just be prepared to shell out $20-$35 per person depending on lunch/dinner. read more

There's been a series of AYCE Korean BBQ places opening in the North NJ area and I have no complaints. It's been fun trying all of these places and comparing and contrasting them one by one. Unfortunately, O2 did not make the cut. Here's why: - For AYCE, the speed at which your meat is cooked is key. The more time it takes for the meat to cook, the faster you feel full, and the less you eat. The heat level at O2 was no good. It took FOREVER for our meat to cook. - The price point is pretty on par with the other BBQ places but if you think about added value... there isn't anything to distinguish O2. For example, Gorilla has a salad and hot food bar included. Cast Iron 2 is BYOB (although the meat quality is MEH, see my review on Cast Iron 2.) The service was great, and the restaurant is HUGE. You will probably never have trouble finding seating here. Overall, it was a decent experience (3.5/5) but my pick for AYCE BBQ is Gorilla in Cliffside Park. read more

This is officially my new happy place. Everything was wonderful from the moment we walked in, the staff was really friendly. We came on a Thursday night and enjoyed a feast of spicy chicken, top blade steak, spicy pork bulgogi and, brisket. Service was great with waiters answering all our questions and providing recommendations, as well as cracking a few jokes. But of course the star of the event was pork bulgogi. I cannot even explain to you how delicious it is. I made sure none of it was left behind, I was absolutely in a food coma from the juicy texture and some wild unicorn of marinade they put it in. In that moment I was the happiest I have ever been and I literally told my husband that I wanted to take a dip in the bulgogi and just swim and eat that deliciousness. I also have to note that I really enjoyed the spicy sauce they provide as it had a lot of flavor and not just heat, thus adding to the overall flavor journey of the dinner. And of course, the bean sauce was absolutely fantastic. I asked for more sauce and it was served immediately, so don't be afraid to ask for more sauce! The choices of Marinated Chicken, Pork Belly, Beef Thin Brisket, & Pork Steak were all very good. They bring the meat out to you, and it cooks right in front of you. I had heard about this place because there's a location in Queens, so I thought I'd try one closer to home. We went here on a Wednesday night and it was pretty full, but we didn't have to wait that long, just about five minutes for them to get our table ready. The AYCE dinner is about $27, so it's worth it if you come hungry. We ordered brisket, pork belly, kalbi, and bulgogi. The brisket was really good and we actually ordered four servings of it. The pork belly was just alright -- not that flavorful or tender in my opinion. The kalbi was my favorite, it had a really great flavor and was tender and juicy. The bulgogi was also good, though not my favorite as it wasn't as juicy or flavorful as I normally like. We also got steamed egg, which is one of my favorite dishes. The service here was kind of meh. The person who was supposed to be cooking the meat for us wasn't very attentive, and he never let us know if our meat was ready or not, so we were left wondering if our meat was overcooked or undercooked. Then, when we decided to check it out and cook it ourselves he said something along the lines of "hey, you're doing my job." He said it somewhat jokingly, but still, it would have been nice if he were more attentive and let us know when our food was ready to eat. Good not great -- when you go to a KBBQ spot, you're already paying a premium for standard cuts of meat in standard marinated sauces. What rubbed me the wrong way were a few things at O2 BBQ -- first, we had a party of 3, we came hungry & ready to eat. We were told that we can only order 2 meats at a time -- now I would understand perhaps after the first 3-4 servings to mitigate the propensity of wasting food/money/meat to enforce some type of limit-rule, however from the start we were told two meats at a time. This seemed odd because I could easily cook 4 meats at a time, I personally could consume the entire portion & most others could as well. So frankly, I didn't appreciate this rule at all. Second, the parking location/situation was awful -- we had to navigate through a sketchy mall to get to the restaurant -- probably a better way but couldn't easily figure that out. Lastly, they didn't have that extensive of a menu as it pertains to non-veg sides for BBQ -- I am an avid KBBQ fan & the sauces, sides & veggies that come alongside the actual meat are equally as great to enjoy while cooking/eating the BBQ. All in all, I would not recommend O2 BBQ for multiple reasons, if it's your first KBBQ experience, this will set the bar VERY slow & if you're a KBBQ fan, this will honestly just disapoint you. Must wear a mask, temperature check and hand sanitizer. There is social distancing enforced. My party and I dined here on July 4th for dinner and we were all impressed with the food and service, which were both phenomenal. The meats were nicely prepared by the host and we did not really have to do anything except wait for the meat to be cooked and eat. He even cut up the meats and changed the grill for us. We pretty much tried everything on their menu. A few items that stood out to us were the pork steak, spicy pork bulgogi, spicy pork belly, kale marinated steak and the hanging tender steak. We also had the spicy fried rice cake and steamed egg as appetizers. The meats were nicely marinated with their Korean blend of sauce which were slightly sweet and tangy. More condiments were also provided table side. The slight char produced by the cast iron grill definitely added a nice slightly sweetened and bitter aftertaste to accompany the meat. There were also lettuce wraps and white rice on the menu if you like to wrap the meats with the lettuce of to go along with a bowl of rice. Overall, I had a great first experience here at O2. The staff were hospitable and the venue was kept in pristine condition. There were T.V. lined up alongside the walls so that patrons can watch Kpop music videos while dining here.
