Dropped in for lunch the other day and had a pretty good pizza. We ordered the white pizza and added Italian sausage and basil. We got plenty of basil but the sausages was a little bit skimpy for it being a large pizza. We probably only had 20 little morsels of sausage on the pizza. We also asked for it to be extra crispy since it can you get soft in the middle on large pizzas which they did well. We had been there for dinner before (and I absolutely love the bruschetta) but we didn't realize at lunch you order at the counter. This week girl behind the counter let me taste test a few beers and we decided on Brooklyn draft. It was very good and went well with my pizza. The only issue with not having a waitress is we both would have ordered another beer if someone would've just asked and we didn't feel like walking back up to the counter standing in line. We were seated in the back of the restaurant so couldn't really see the crowd at the front anyway. Generally a nice atmosphere and although it is raining it did look like the outside patio would be nice place to sit on a sunny afternoon. We will be back. read more

Im writing this review pre consumption because no amount of flavor can redeem the complete lack of service. This place is majorly understaffed and so I understand the frustration of the literal ONE worker, but something needs to change. He is clearly unhappy, unwilling to do ANYTHING besides make the pizza. He doesn't address customers who walk in until they've been standing there for a total of 5 mins idly, he gets frustrated when people have questions and want to make changes to orders and responds by saying he doesn't know in an exasperated rapid tone that makes it seem like he hates that you're a customer. ok as i'm writing this there is another worker that appeared out of the blue, which who knows where he was. While i've been waiting here for over 30 mins already, a potential new hire came in, put on an apron to be trained, then left in 5 mins and walked out. I had questions about my online order because i was charged twice, and i was told he doesn't know he only does this, by this it's making the pizza. there goes a free $23. In the end, it's not really the one worker's fault, it's the staffing issue. wouldn't recommend until staffing issues are changed, and even then possibility of not recommending. read more

I remember when this location was downtown and I said I wanted to try them and see what the pizza is about. To my luck they moved to Duluth closer to me and I don't have to drive so far now. So O4W I'll make my standard "I'm from NYC I know pizza" comment first now we can move on. We arrived at 04W it was during the food truck festival so there was lots of traffic. We go to the door and sat down at the seats outside in the front and waited for the hostess. It was pretty busy and about to rain so people were shifting from outside to in. So the hostess comes out he looks upset and confused and I say excuse me we need a table for two and he says I don't have anything right now we're busy and walks off into the restaurant. So right then I'm like whoa and my wife says whats wrong with him so we wait for him to come back and he walks back outside and walks over to another couple and says how many people? So I'm like WTH and walk over to come and say hey we asked you for a seat and he says yeah I remember I have you down here who many you need I said two. He said ok we will get you in a few. So after a few minutes we sat down. The waitress introduced herself she was nice we ordered drinks and "grandma goes to Detroit pizza" and caesar salad. The pizza comes out and man (see pics) looks GREAT! The first time I had grandma slice was back home in NYC. Never had the pan crust version it's good a different spin the crust is thick but very lite and airy. I wouldn't order it again I like the original version better. But still very good! The caesar salad was fresh and authentic and not a fake caesar salad like most fly by night pizza places.. So to sum things up things started off rocky with o4w but ended on a good note the pizza was great and the waitress was great. I'll be back to try the original grandma pizza and other things! So, my daughter went tonight for dinner, not knowing that we had our own disappointment a few days earlier. She called me to let us know how bad it was. There was a woman who appeared to be the new owner, YELLING at several different customers, even one who got the wrong dish delivered. Her pizza, too was a huge disappointment. We all loved the place for years, but now it is just a sad memory. People work hard for their money. If you don't know or care what you are doing, put a sign out front so people can decide to just burn their money, or give it to you. read more

Terrible experience at O4W . The owner of the store and employees behaved very rudely and disrespectfully. We had questions about our order and were spoken to disrespectfully. When we asked to speak to the owner she began to yell and attempt to physically put us out of her store. She then threatened to call the police and when we agreed that she should, she did not call but continued to yell and tell us to never return to the store. As a customer for the last 3 years we do not appreciate this treatment and do not advise anyone to come to this establishment if they are seeking good customer service . read more

Okay so no joke, THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA IN GA! I've been back several times (dining in and take out) and it has never missed. The crust is delicious and the amount of sauce and cheese that is put on the pizza is seriously perfect. The pepperonis have such an unique taste and just everything about it is delicious. The food at this place is awesome! Where have I been getting my pizza all my life? The house salad was tasty, although the vinaigrette was too sweet for me. We got the Spicy Italian, which is the Grandma pie plus hot peppers, spicy sausage and pepperoni. Next time, we will work our way through appetizers and other pizza selections. The space is a little awkward, though. They need some custom tables & booths to improve seating. Also, they could use a little better draft beer selection. And it's expensive, but worth every penny! I read through other reviews of O4W before going, and had a pleasant experience. Tip: the label may not match the exact spot of the slices on display, but the guy at the counter was very helpful in letting us know the description of the slices we were pointing at. He also kindly let us know that there was an area with more air conditioned seating in a back room. i think other reviewers get thrown off by the zza people's gruffness? It's not a welcome to Moe's spot, but they weren't rude. I got the boss zza slice. My daughter got lemon pepper wings. Son got something that looked like a meat lovers slice. Neighbor got veggie zza. They throw the slices in the oven then bring it to your table. The guy who brought us our slices was kind and provided paper plates and plastic ware. They're huge slices so I ate fancy with a fork and knife. The zzas and wings were tasty but I like my cheese a little salty. It's probably because the boss was spicier than I expected so I couldn't taste salty zza cheese? I liked the crispy crunchy thin crust and the flavors of the boss. Came with a big group of 10 and the wait was 1 hour on a Friday night. Service was friendly and their pizza is really good. It took a while for our food to come out. At least 30 min. We tried the works, grandma, veggie, and spicy Italian. One pizza is enough for 4 people to share if you aren't super hungry. You can't get it by the slice and whole pizzas ranged from $18 to 28. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. I loved the fresh basil on the spicy Italian. Even the ricotta tasted fresh. The sauce is currently salty which may be too much for non savory folks. The crust is thin and crunchy. It was delicious. The only downfall is that they dont offer by the slice so if you go alone or with 2 people.. its lot of food. It is also on the pricey end for pizza.. but I must say, it was really good! Parking was accessible through several public parking lots in the downtown Duluth area. Have been wanting to try this place after hearing so many good reviews. Like every where I in downtown Duluth, parking can be difficult This is a rather small 2 dining room establishment, with a patio out back when the weather is conducive. Very small bar, 3 or 4 stools. We had to wait for about 10-15 minutes on a Saturday night at 5:30. So I love pizza. Good pizza not the dominos or papa johns pizza, but the pizza I grew up in living in Michigan -- loads of toppings, lots of cheese, hearty soft crust. This wasn't it. They have several pizza "styles". Everything is fresh made, dough rises for 2 days, cheese made from scratch (? How do you even make cheese?), homemade sauce etc. the toppings are limited. Meats are pepperoni or sausage, which I don't care for either. They have calzones where you can choose 2 toppings. Besides mushrooms, none of my favorites ( ham, pineapple, green olives) were options. The sandwiches were not my cup of tea either. Hmmmm.... So I ordered a Greek Salad and cheese bread. The salad was much larger than I expected. It was good, but nothing special. The cheese bread was very good, but I didn't care for the marinara sauce. DH ordered a "Detroit" pizza. He absolutely loved it. It's 14" and very thick. The sauce was on top, added after it cooks. He thought it was the best pizza ever. I tried a bite. The crust was crunchy! It was ok but I wasn't impressed at all. They have wine and a few beers on tap. No Coke Zero. Service was ok. DH will get carry-out when I'm out of town. I don't need to go back. read more

Gotta say, the pizza is killer. Truly the closest to a NYC grandma slice I've found in the area. That being said, caring about grandmas takes on new meaning in a pandemic. I was dismayed today when I arrived, masked, to pick up our pizza that none of the staff preparing the food were wearing masks, and a crowd of 10-13 unmasked people were immediately outside the restaurant, drinking beer, and presumably waiting for pizza. 0/10 would not recommend pickup/takeout for at-risk populations, even if you're the one person wearing a mask. The pizza would taste a whole lot better if it were served with a side of common sense/care for customers and health. Not cool. read more

Came back to try Detroit grandma pizza and spinach sandwich. The spinach sandwich had heaps of cooked spinach but not over-cooked. It was very bright green still. There was a reasonable amount of cheese and onions to compliment it. The grandma pie goes to Detroit pizza is good and the crust is different than the original grandma pie. Same homemade ingredients with fat leaves of basil... yes! It's still really good. It's a bit more oily than the original grandma pie. No problem because it's olive oil! read more

Mgmt has changed and our latest visit was extremely disappointing. The owner was walking around the restaurant while patrons were eating ordering employees around. She set up the back table as her "office" and was conducting business. She also sat so close to us that we had to physically move our table over to be comfortable enjoying dinner. She did not give off an overly pleasant demeanor and did not make any paying customer feel welcome in her establishment. Food was so-so, nothing compared to what it used to be. We had to bus our own table, which is fine - but it makes me wonder if the tables are being wiped down between patrons. The beverage station was questionable - the fountain station had multiple cardboard boxes set up on a trolley feeding tubes into the machine itself. Upon receiving our pizza, an ant crawled onto a napkin from under the pizza tray. The restaurant used to serve specialty sodas and did offer wine - we had to go to the wine bar next door to get a glass of wine. Again, that is fine, but just not what we were expecting from our last visit here. We were looking forward to the amazing pizza we've come to know from O4W and left extremely disappointed. Once at the counter, we were greeted with "What do you need"... what I needed to do at that point was turn and walk out, I ordered a pepperoni pizza and garlic knots to go. when the order was finally ready (55 min later) I paid and then opened the pizza box to find four (4) pieces of pepperoni; that's right 4... on a large pizza and they forgot the garlic knots. I asked to cancel the order and for a refund, I was asked why, I explained and the employee responded "Whatever'. Thankfully the refund process was quick and easy. read more

Something has changed at O4W and not for the better. Grandma is my go to. No one else can make this delicious pie in this area. So I keep going back even though they no longer answer the phone, are out ingredients most of the time, and the ingredients they do have are becoming more and more sparse. I ordered a specialty pie on the app and when I brought it home there is a key ingredient missing. No communication to be about this and I tipped online but honestly it was like a ghost town when I walked in on a Saturday night. Used to be packed! I'm sad. Haven't seen the owners in months. This is a fantastic pizza spot in downtown Duluth. Because it is in downtown Duluth, parking is not easy. But with a little patience, you will find a good spot and will have a great evening. We visited this restaurant at its former location when we lived downtown. We were thrilled to see it open in Duluth after we moved up to this area. Fantastic pie! On our last visit, my husband, born and raised in Detroit, wanted to try the Detroit-style pizza. He was not disappointed. He said he had never had a Detroit-style pizza this authentic outside of Detroit. The crust was thick and chewy, with sopressata hidden under the layers of cheese, with a hearty helping of sauce right on top. It was divine. We went early on a Saturday night (about 5:30 pm) and were seated right away. However, before we left, there was a thirty minute wait for seats. This spot has great outside seating, too. I love O4W's pizza. I especially like the pepperoni they use - the little ones that bake into little cups in the oven. Due to the pandemic, they didn't have any indoor seating open. Best Detroit style pizza in Atlanta. Reading some recent reviews, I went in assuming poor service. I can't say it was poor, it was just non-existent. They've gone to a mobile order system where you sit and order from your table. Self-serve drinks and the only interaction is when the pizza is brought to you. But you're not coming here for the service or atmosphere, you're coming for some of the best pizza in the city. The Grandma Goes to Detroit pizza was absolute perfection. The crust reminded me of focaccia, but crispier on the bottom. Perfect amount of cheese and high quality marinara. Burnt cheese on the outside like a Detroit style pie should have. And the dabs of fresh motz and basil took it up a notch. Older reviews show this as an 8 slice pizza, it's now 6 slices. Which is disappointing, but still worth getting even at the price. We also got the arancini, which was good, but I've had better (it came with 4, but snapped the pictures after we ate 2). I still think Antico San Gennaro is the best pizza in Atlanta, but the Grandma Goes to Detroit is a close 2nd. read more

Used to be 4 stars. The quality has drastically reduced. They are trying to pass off pre-shredded bagged mozzarella as "fresh made in-house." When I directly asked why this supposed fresh mozzarella looked like clumps of shredded, I was told that it was fresh - so they are definitely committed to their lies. The quality of everything was less than normal. While the sausage is usually sparse, this was sparse and also lacking in quality. I hope they figure out a way to get it together, otherwise, I will not be returning anytime soon. What a sad turn for a formerly delicious pizza. read more

O4W Pizza offers an excellent crust and very good sauce but a minuscule amount of cheese. The calzones are a far better value and they don't skimp on the cheese. I wouldn't return for their pizza unless I wanted a "no cheese" version. I'd go back for the calzones. 4 stars for the calzone and 2 stars for the pizza. Rustic, cavern-like atmosphere inside and a decent patio to eat outside. Service is friendly but why aren't any knives available to cut your food with? Not even plastic ones. Back for the third time. There is no way around it, the pizza here is excellent. I'm a pretty simple guy so I went with the jersey round again. Guy next to me has the grands pie and it looked awesome. I say at the bar and was able to watch the kitchen. Quality ingredients and a skilled oven man at the helm.
