Our 2 sons found this clinic and recommended it for our dog's dental cleaning. We were quoted a price of between $1200 and $2300 for the cleaning and removal of some teeth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vet called at the end of the procedure and was very nice but did not tell me the price of the cleaning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She did not say it was a very difficult procedure or that the teeth were in very bad shape or anything to indicate that the cost would be at the very high end of the estimate. When I got the bill, it was $2140, again, with no real explanation of why it was at the high end of the estimate. I looked at the detail of the costs and I was flabbergasted. Anesthesia for the procedure was over $600 for one hours work. Our son is an anesthesiologist and doesn't charge near that for his human patients. The insurance company wouldn't let him make those charges. There are no anesthesiologists administering the anesthesia at the veterinary clinic. It is done by a vet tech. Charging this much for anesthesia is ridiculous. I was given 3 pain pills (Rimadyl--25 mg.) and charged over $7 per pill. I looked up the cost of the pill on Google and could get the 75 mg, pill for $1.35 at Petco. That is a 600 % markup. This wasn't a major cost but shows the enormous markup this clinic uses to charge its customers. It appears to me the lower estimate of $1200 was the same technique car dealers use of low balling the estimate, just to get you to choose their dealership and never intending for you to get that price but to keep you interested. It is sad that professional staff of a veterinary clinic appear to be using similar techniques to keep their clients interested. Vet and vet techs were friendly during the process of doing an examination on my dog for a health certificate. However towards the end of the visit I left unhappy as the first health certificate contained a mistake and needed to be redone and the staff informed me they would be adding on the $50 charge to redo the certificate and I asked if it was that was my mistake (when I remember answering on the phone that my dog was not neutered when they asked me before my appointment) but the girl at the desk informed that it was when I signed off on the information clipboard when I first checked in. I made a few adjustments to the clipboard but did not recall seeing the neutered status section or must have missed it but was a little unhappy that they did not double check all the details with me prior to making the official health certificate (other vets I went to for health certificates would run by the details one last time before they finalized everything.) I also provided a previous health certificate that had all of the correct information minus the address and they took it to the back so I assumed the information would all be in order but that was not the case; I also had to ask for the health certificate I provided to be returned. The pricing was also much more than I thought it would come out to for the health certificate ($125 for the health certificate alone) and not including the $50 redo charge for the corrected certificate. Overall I would recommend getting quotes in advance (this is what I should have done to not be price shocked - I was used to paying only $60 for a health certificate) and double checking everything and informing them to run everything by you again to check that all the details are correct (so you avoid paying for what feels like the staff's mistakes and assuming that details will be checked before finalized.) I wanted to forget about the experience and be grateful that I was able to get what I needed just at a hefty price but felt bothered by the fact I had to pay $50 for a mistake I feel wasn't entirely my fault and the staff could've taken some accountability too besides simply apologizing. If you need something done quickly I would recommend this vet because they have many openings and aren't booked out for months like others but would just advise checking prices (if you're on a budget) and thoroughly checking all the details yourself. read more

I waited for almost an hour, and the examination was finished quickly. （Less than 15 minutes, including the time of vaccination, I feel that they didn't check my cat particularly carefully.I didn't bring my cat's feces samples, and then they didn't take samples on the spot. I felt a little perfunctory. (Afterwards, my friend told me that other pet hospitals would take samples from the cat's ass on the spot if your cat didn't have samples during the physical examination.) When I brought the cat for a physical examination, the main purpose was to worry that she was infected with parasites. I don't know how they did the examination. I thought they would check the parasites in other ways, but they seemed to skip this step directly, and I felt very angry. If you want to take your cat for a physical examination, and you don't have a stool sample, be prepared to pay 68 dollars for Physical examination and you won't get the parasite test results. It's not a question of how much money. It's a question that I don't think is worth it. 68 is not a lot, but I can feel that they don't take this matter seriously. I feel that they don't care about my cat, they just finish the process and get the money. read more

Dr. Gavin Ganzer has been treating my furry family for a free years, he has alway provided the best care to my furry family. Most recently he treated my moms dog Titus, while on a 4 month visit to HNL. He discovered a bladder stone and before recommending sugery he wanted to see if diet would dissolve prior to subjecting to a medical procedure. Titus ended up needing sugery and Dr Ganzer took amazing care and gave us needed advise on a diet plan beyond 'prescription' food that has made a world of difference. From making the appointment and explaining my situation to front desk and the assistants as well. This will be my regular vet for my cat because I know I can trust she will be in caring hands. Just had my first vet visit with my dwarf bunny, since we got her almost 2 years ago from HHS. Dwarf bunnies need to be skittish, to protect themselves - so she (and I) were very anxious about going to the veterinarian. I decided to try this one, after reading some recommendations in a couple of rabbit Facebook groups - and I'm glad that I did. I think they have two veterinarians here that can take care of rabbits. Brought my bunny in to check out a clump of fur under her chin, and to get her nails trimmed while we were there. My bunny, bunnied so hard, the entire time hahaha! She wasn't happy, and made sure to show it lol! However, Dr. Ganzer and his vet tech were very patient, knowledgeable, and thorough. This is unfortunate because we wanted to move to this clinic for one of the vets, but after the experience with the older haole woman​, I don't know if we will. Great vet, sweet staffs, and your fur babies will be in great care.

My dog hurt her foot and her usual doctor was booked solid so they referred me to Oahu Vet Clinic. I was able to get my dog in for an appointment on the same day which made me so relieved as my dog was in so much pain that she barely let her foot touch the ground when walking. The ladies at the desk that checked us in were very nice and not too long after, we were escorted in by Leanne to see Dr Choy. Leanne was so friendly and kind. She shared stories of her dog, what she does for her dogs allergies and even shared funny stories of crazy antics she goes through to protect her dog from the stresses of fireworks that go off this time of the year. I found it amusing that we did similar things to try to help our dogs. Dr Choy was very nice and thorough. My dog, although nervous at first seemed very calm during our short visit. Usually she paces in the office and drools excessively showing her discomfort but she actually laid down on the floor while I spoke to the doctor after the examination. After just one visit, I am leaning towards transitioning my dog to Oahu Vet Clinic even though the pet hospital that we've been going to for almost 3 years is conveniently walking distance from my house. read more
