Get anything but their matcha! Rating is purely based on the matcha I got. Honestly, it's my bad for trying to get matcha from a smoothie place, but if you love matcha and you see the vibrant matcha color on their poster, you'll understand! It's basically milk with a drop or two of food coloring. Luckily, they're nice enough to swap it for a strawberry and banana smoothie which you can't really messed up I think. OAKBERRY AÇAI @ CARLSBAD Parking is available right in front of this Oakberry. It's located in a plaza, so you can easily park your car and walk to other spots nearby. I love how big the parking lot is, there are plenty of open spaces, and it's completely free. I've always really enjoyed Oakberry, especially their açaí bowls. Today, I ordered online and got the 12-ounce build-your-own, which lets you add as many toppings as you want. Some toppings do cost extra, but I kept it pretty simple. My order was ready right away, and when I walked in, I was greeted immediately. I love the store, it's all purple, super clean, and they have seating on the side along with merch. The staff were really nice, and the girl who helped me was so kind. The açaí bowl itself was delicious with fresh fruit like bananas and strawberries. My only complaint is that I asked for extra strawberries, and they only gave me two, so they're definitely a little skimpy with fruit. I was intrigued by this place and looking forward to trying it out! It is a small journey to get there for me so I ordered in advance and decided to stop by the grocrey store there before I went in. My order was ready when I got there and the employee greeted me right away. I thought maybe it should have been in fridge or freezer before I got there but NOPE! It was a little melted but not terrible. Next time, I will be sure to order closer to the actual time I will be there. I was surprised by the different options I have never heard of before in an acai bowl. For example, Chia Pudding and Matcha. Anyways, my bowl had a lot of Peanut Butter it seems (the cheapest thing of course lol) and I don't think I ordered extra. The presentation is more of a cup rather than a bowl which is also different. If you download the app I think you can get points for a small free item. This place has some middle of the road Açaí bowls. Sure I love the healthy options but in comparison to other Açaí bowl places in the area this is just okay. Not bad tasting just limited in toppings and bases (just Açai on tap). And as others have noted you get a smaller amount of fresh fruits on top of your bowl compared to others. Other nearby places have more toppings including home grind nut butters. Just my personal preference and observation. read more

Really disappointing customer service experience on a Friday at 2pm. I came in using ClassPass, which I've done dozens of times at similar spots. Normally the staff just checks the confirmed ClassPass reservation and confirms it in their system. The cashier seemed unsure how to do this and told me I had to wait until the order showed up on her screen. While I waited, she continued taking and completing other customers' orders. After about ten minutes, I asked again and she said, "Okay, I can take your order now." When I received my item, it was made incorrectly. The strawberry topping was missing, and when I took a sip, it didn't taste right. I let her know it seemed like the açai was missing. She argued with me and said I had read the menu wrong and that it wasn't supposed to include açai. I showed her the printed menu, which clearly listed açai. She then said, "Oh well, you told me the wrong order." I pulled up my ClassPass confirmation, which she had already read and confirmed earlier. It showed the correct order, meaning the mistake was on her end. Throughout the interaction, she seemed visibly annoyed and dismissive rather than trying to fix the issue. Overall, the experience felt frustrating and unnecessarily confrontational, especially for a simple order that should have been straightforward. The Acai itself is okay but I don't think I could go back. The blonde lady that made my order used mango that smelled and tasted like vinegar. I was really craving an açai bowl and decided to stop at the new location near my house. I walk in and there is no one at the front counter and Wendy employee comes from the back. She doesn't greet me at all. I asked for a menu to look at and she said she didn't have any. I then went to make an order first select selecting a 16 ounce original bowl for customizing. I asked for strawberries, bananas, and blueberries, but she then mentions - in a very low voice. " we are out of strawberries". Meanwhile, she was using a sharpie pen to put a label on her printer. I felt like she was not even listening to me or anticipating my order. I have never been before, and this was a very poor first impression! I thought this would be a welcome addition to our neighborhood, but not with employees and staff like this location! I would rather drive to Carlsbad Village and get an açaí bowl there even though it is a 15 minute drive one way. I asked for the manager's name and she said Sophie, but that she does not work in the store. I asked how I could get in touch with Sophie and this employee said "I don't know"! Before writing a review I made sure to visit this place on 3 occasions. 2 being through ClassPass, bad customer service, confusion w/how ClassPass works and both ClassPass original bowls came with 5 small banana slices. 3rd time was today and decided to pay out of pocket for a bowl to see if maybe I'd get better customer service (at least a greeting) and a better built bowl. I ordered an original bowl ($15.95) total. A guy ordered after me, bringing in his aggressive pup that was barking at customers and jumped on the counter (which is fine I guess, just thought it was a bit much for a Saturday afternoon. Another girl ordered after him (just a smoothie). I arrived at 3:10 and left at 3:45. The girl got her smoothie first, which is fine was quicker to make. The guy took my order and when this girl finally called an order out I told her that that wasn't my order and I think the guy earlier took my order but you were chatting with him so I assumed you gave him his correct order. So since she handed me the wrong order, I had to wait for her to make my correct order (No apology, just a sour look on her face like it was somehow my fault). I've worked in customer service and regardless of your personal life, you leave it at home. I have so much grace but in this case it came across as petty and immature. I will not be coming back to oakberry, nor will it be a suggestion. If you're looking for a good Acai bowl with hefty toppings and good customer service head to Alohana Acai Bowls. Pretty disappointed with this location. I tried the signature matcha acai bowl. Nothing in it tasted like matcha at all, the acai tasted akin to gas station slush -- you would probably be better off buying frozen acai packs from trader joes. The chia seeds in the bowl were each coated with ice which leads me to believe they were just taken out of the freezer and to make it worst the bowl (really a plastic cup) was drenched at the top with low tier condensed milk or something. read more
