When no one was excited with any of the other options for birthday brunch and dinners are always complicated for my family/extended family... Naked Cafe immediately popped into my brain! Everyone, especially my dad because it was his first experience (and he's picky) loved the food, coffee drinks and liquid therapy! The 6 adults (me included) easily finished the pitcher of mimosas, we chose the pomegranate lemonade. Don't even get me started on all the specialty coffees and teas that are amazing and come with art! Everyone loves tea or coffee in my family, my go to is the Blue planet because I love spuralina but I got the yummy Chaggaccino (see photo). My dad loved his espresso! My nephews have returned for the 3rd time and one has some dietary restrictions and was happy they both devoured the strawberry chocolate pancakes. I'm vegan and so happy this is a brunch place that has numerous options instead of 1-2 choices at most other establishments. Super happy with they use JustEgg to make an egg dish vegan friendly! I had the pesto quesadilla with black beans and rosemary potatoes, it was delicious. Can't remember our servers name but she easily a group 6 adults, an almost 15 yo and an 11 yo. She returned to the table several times to ask if we needed refills, another drink and how we were enjoying everything. I really enjoy coming to Naked Cafe -- the food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is consistently friendly and welcoming. It's one of my favorite spots because the staff always make you feel taken care of, and the quality of the meals keeps me coming back. Unfortunately, during my last visit there was a homeless man who came inside with feces on his shoes, and the smell was extremely strong. I truly feel bad for the situation he's in, but it made the environment really difficult to sit in and ended up making us lose our appetite. We actually had to leave because of it. Service was quick and friendly. I really appreciated that they have a mix of vegan and non-vegan options. I ordered the Wok Bowl and added marinated grilled chicken. The bowl came out hot with fresh ingredients and tasted delicious. Only ingredient I was not a fan of was the lotus roots. I visited this morning, and it was hard to find, but once I did, I discovered that it's very cute with outside seating as well as indoors. The theme is Hawaiian and surf. Lots of vegan and organic choices. My husband had the mushroom based coffee for the first time, and he liked it. I had the Kona Press, that was good too; a very mild flavor. The avocado toast I ordered was huge. It had an egg on top and some kid of ground meat (probably vegan); it would have been fine with out this part. You also get a side of arugula salad. This dish was a lot more than what I had expected, I could have split it, but I ended up eating most of it. : ) My husband had the bacon croissant sandwich, he enjoyed that, and i got a little bite of that. NAKED CAFE @ CARLSBAD My boyfriend raves about this place so many times, and I mean so much that he brought me here to try! We got seated fairly quickly on a sunday morning, and it was pretty busy, but they have tables inside and outside. We ended up getting lots of things, the Green Heart Quesadilla, Bacon & Avocado Toast, Strawberry Chocolate Chips Pancakes, and a large Hot Cocoa. I have no words, because this has fully turned me into a breakfast person, because I need this every day! Each dish was so delicious, I really enjoy the Bacon and Avocado toast, as it was smeared with this delicious pesto spread, and had potatoes on the side. The crunchy bacon was fantastic, and having the sweet strawberry chocolate chip pancakes were fantastic. I wish there was a bit more strawberry in the pancakes however. The hot cocoa is a MUST, if you're a fan, it's a huge cup that looks like it's over the top full, and with a large amount of whip cream, it just melts in your mouth. I also tried my boyfriend Green Heart Quesadilla and WOW, this was fantastic as well, also has that creamy pesto spread in it. Overall, we really enjoyed the environment, the waiter was kind, and the art around the store was pleasant to see of artists (the art is also for sale!) Parking is a massacre, it's a large complex with limited room, so I'd definitely recommend doing street parking or just be aware you might be waiting! read more

They have six pancake dishes that include bananas, almonds, raisins, granola, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, coconut, mangos, and chocolate chips. Burritos, egg dishes, quesadillas, hash, French toast, soups, wraps, bowls, and tacos also appear on the menu. We stopped in for lunch, sat on their outdoor terrace, and ordered the Fuzzy Monkey Pancakes ($12.50 for three) and a Wok Bowl with Tofu ($14.50 + $3.50). The pancakes were great, loaded with sliced bananas, almonds, raisins, and granola. The bottle of agave syrup on the table really enhanced the sweetness of the pancakes. My Wok Bowl was fantastic. Imagine a big bowl of brown rice, broccoli, zucchini, lotus root, carrots, celery, striped beets, glazed shiitake mushrooms, and a sesame ginger dressing. I added some tofu cubes as an add-on. The flavor was so good, and all of the ingredients really worked well together. I liked the Bohemian - hippie vibe of the place and some of the far out spacey names of their dishes - like Tree Hugger Pancakes, Good Karma, Plate of Prosperity, Rising Sun Quesadilla, and Solstice Burritos. The restaurant is in a nice little shopping center, but the overall experience didn't live up to the price or expectations. I ordered the crispy vegan burrito, it came with two burritos, but one was noticeably smaller than the other. The flavor was just okay. I also got a side of potatoes, which were completely bland and unseasoned. My boyfriend ordered the same burrito but asked for chips and salsa instead of potatoes. He only received the salsa that comes with the burrito, so it was unclear if they forgot or that's just how they serve it. We were told the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, so we left and came back after 10. When we returned, we had to wait another 5 minutes, even though I saw our bag had already been sitting there when we arrived. I also ordered pancakes, but they never made it into the order seemed like they were just ignored entirely. Since it was a to-go order, we didn't notice until we left, and by then it didn't feel worth going back. Between the high prices, small portions, bland sides, and order issues, it just wasn't worth it. Probably wouldn't return. read more

The ambiance is great, we sat outdoor and there's a patio table umbrella so it wasn't too hot. The food is 3.5/5. I like the steak tenderloin, it is soft and cooked well. However the buff burrito is not that good as the chicken in it is bland and not seasoned well. I ordered the naked matcha latte hot and it's pretty smooth and sweet. It is on the sweeter side. Host service is great but our server is a little bit rude, kinda rushing us to pay maybe it's a busy weekend. Other than that the vibes are good and a good place to enjoy with family and friends! Came here for breakfast a few times with friends visiting who are Vegan and the dishes did not disappoint! I will be ordering the veganized version of the Ying Yang bowl (add vegan eggs and chorizo too!) when I come here from now on. They also have a list of delicious coffees, matches and hot drinks, I tried the caramel hot apple cider and it tasted like fall. One of my fave fall treats. Also tried waffles and fruit and whipped cream (vegan) and scrambled vegan eggs. Although both of those are not normally my go to, despite my sweet tooth it's rare I like a sweet breakfast, they were tasty! Service was thoughtful, quick and friendly. The setting is beautiful; the Carlsbad Village Center with a central fountain for little ones to play around in; super family friendly! The menu had a lot of options. I had a mocha (which was delish and perfect balance of sweetness without being overly sweet and a great caffeine profile). I will say though the chairs are large and metal and make a loud sound as you drag it to pull your chair out. Not a pleasant sound.
