You HAVE to have the cheese curds. That would be review enough - go there, order cheese curds and a house margarita, and be happy. But the atmosphere is also worth highlighting - they have a lot of seating despite being busy, a great view of the lake, and (at least when I was there) a wonderfully nostalgic 90s mix on the speaker. The one downside is that they aren't overly attentive, so I sat waiting for some help for a bit. While this is the case most places these days because of staff shortages, when I was at Oakfire, there were plenty of folks, just no one really paying attention. I chalk this up to the lull between rushes, but it did knock the rating down a bit. They do not take reservations, but I was in between the lunch and dinner hours and had no trouble getting a table for 4. I can't wait to go back and try more of the food! read more

Tried this establishment by "word of mouth." First off, always crowded. This is a good sign. Be prepared to wait a while. First come, first serve reservations on the weekend. Due to the tourist traffic, it's hit or miss. We enjoyed the stone oven, baked cheese, pizza, and a nice bottle of Pinot. The crust was very crispy, and the marinara and cheese was an explosion of taste. Very friendly staff- especially the bartenders! Expect to pay typical Lake Geneva prices! Oakfire has a great location right by the lake so we had lunch here on a Monday afternoon and it was BUSY. I had the classic bianca pizza (romano, basil, shredded mozz, fresh mozz, imported bufala mozz, garlic oil, & honey) while hubby had the sausage pesto pizza (sausage, caramelized onions, basil pesto, mozzarella, pecorino romano). We both enjoyed our respective pizzas. They aren't large enough to share if you're hungry (there's 6 slices and I ate 4/6 slices while hubby ate the entire pizza). Oakfire is worth. The. Wait. And there usually is a wait, as this restaurant does not accept reservations or call aheads. But it is worth it for the food, location and views. Located directly across from the lake, our large party was seated upstairs on the rooftop. With the bubble lights hanging, lake in front of us and moon above, the setting was perfect! And the food?! Our group had the cheese curds, meatballs and burrata to start--and all were delicious. The curds are served with marinara--a different and interesting touch but it worked. Sunday Labor Day weekend - as one who works in the industry we get it - Holiday weekend and maybe they were not staffed good for the day. However watching the staff and management not having any pep in their step to accommodate what was going on was painful to watch. The only reason for a 3 star was our server Shelby she was prompt and personable and we enjoyed the service she alone provided. We have been here several times so know the menu well - pizzas were an extreme disappointment and were undercooked . Only part that had tasted cooked with a little crisp was the crust - we took them home only because we felt bad wasting food. Thoughts were take them home and cook them in the oven and maybe they might taste ok. Kudos to the bartender as drinks were good but overall not a good experience - glad we have been here before and know things can be better - hoping next time it will. read more

Oakfire was probably one of my favorite dinner spots in Lake Geneva. I'm giving it 5 stars as this is one of the best options in the area. Opted for the upstairs outdoor patio, which had an amazing view of the lake while soaking up the sun (my go-to in warm weather). They don't offer reservations, but it worked out fine since it wasn't peak season. Can only imagine how packed it gets then, being a Lake Geneva favorite. Oakfire was on our list to try while in the Lake Geneva area for the weekend. We stopped by on a Thursday for lunch. Sutton was our server and she was great. She recommended the Soppressata pizza with spicy salami, mozzarella, Romano and arugula with honey drizzle. It was fantastic! Very tasty. My husband had the pepperoni pizza and we also had the meatballs with a dollop of ricotta, which just took it to the next level. Can't wait to visit it again. Loved their thin crust pizza. read more

Really enjoyed our experience at Oakfire when we visited in the fall! We were able to snag seats at the bar right away and had a great/attentive server. We ordered a pizza with sausage and vodka sauce on it (I believe, it was a signature on their menu!) and really loved it. The first few bites were amazing and the crust held up well initially given how full of cheese and sauce it was. That being said, it quickly became a bit soggy which then required us to use a fork to eat it. I didn't mind this at all because the flavors were awesome! This is definitely a top restaurant in Lake Geneva and has gorgeous views of the lake. If you're in town, I definitely recommend grabbing a bite here for lunch or dinner! read more

I stumbled on Oakfire after a winter adventure earlier the evening a stopped in to place an order to go. We stopped by the area to check out the snow sculpture progress and when I looked at the menu it was a must try. Despite a snow storm rolling in and Oakfire closing early I made just in time to place and order to go. The staff was very pleasant and helped me get me order in. I was surprised how quick it was ready since we were all hungry after a busy day. We got a few margarita pizzas and I went with the Verdure and added mozzarella. I had to get some starters to top it off - Burrata bread and wood fired bread. The burrata bread was fantastic - topped with an amazing burrata cheese , arugula and tomato's - Wow this was fantastic together with the wood fired bread which it rested upon. My favorite was the Verdure pizza- that was the first time I had roasted artichokes on top and that was perfect with the red sauce and peppers. Capers and mushroom. Honest a must if your a veggie pizza fan. We didn't feel comfortable dining in but had a perfect spot out front overlooking lake Geneva. I absolutely recommend checking out oakfire ! Great indoor rooftop seating with a pretty view! Came in here to celebrate with some friends on a warm beautiful day in October. We sat upstairs and had a beautiful view of the lake. The food was good, although just a little pricey. Same for the drinks. But all good and made of good quality ingredients. The servers were nice and attentive also! The service is hit or miss. Out waitress was very friendly and upbeat, but the host was somewhat rude and haughty, an attitude that doesn't make a ton of sense for a pizza place. He made a very big deal to us out of space availability outdoors, and then missed seating us in the correct outdoor space at all, which was frustrating. The pizza is generally good but not the best we've had by any stretch (we ordered the Diavola, which is our go-to in the Minocqua location). We did like the view and the outdoor seating area, and we enjoyed the cheese sticks as a starter. The fried ravioli is just okay - missing salt and flavor. We went to Lake Geneva for a Girls weekend. And this place is in our list of places to try. I loved their meatball appetizer, and of course when i see calamari on the menu i have to try it. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their menu is mostly consist of pizza. I ordered from their Pizza Bianca section which means no Tomato sauce and its a foldavle pizza. I ordered the PESTO DI SALSICCIA - Sausage, Caramelized Onions, Basil Pesto, Mozzarella, Pecorino Romano. It was good. My sister ordered their Pepperoni and my cousin ordered a sandwich. They also had this cute Mickey pizza just shaped like Mickey abd its for the kids. I didnt hear any complaining which means it edible lol. Kidding aside its a decent place to eat at and if you go to the 2nd floor balcony the view is nice. After being shaken up from the lack of mask wearers in Wisconsin, my parents and I headed here due to the good reviews and my craving for pizza. Ambiance: All of the staff wore masks and weren't picking at them which was good. The restaurant isn't that big though so tables were not socially distanced and they were filling up at max capacity. We opted for patio seating to get more air circulation. Service: The hostess was nice and able to handle the line well. We only had to wait about 15 min. Our waitress was also great! She was tall and had a pizza mask on. Food: I was a little hesitant when the waitress said it'd be a soft Neapolitan style pizza (usually I like a little crunchiness), but they were delicious!! We ordered the Bosco pizza and sauce-less Sopressata pizza. The latter was spicy but nothing we couldn't handle. The mozzarella was the highlight of the slices. I decided to try Oakfire on a Monday night and it was amazing. I got the pepperoni and substitute the fresh mozzarella for the Buffalo mozzarella from the recommendation from the bartender. It was one of the best pizzas I've had, second to actually going to Naples and eating Neapolitan pizza. My waitress was really kind and just the right amount of chatty, which I love when I'm sitting alone especially. I had cheese curds and a pizza, of which I had a lot of leftovers.
