This place is really enjoyable! Paying upfront might be a little different, but it's all part of the experience. We enjoyed some delicious Matcha, mango , and melon --all very refreshing and clean. Just a heads-up, it tends to get quite busy after 3pm on Sundays, so it's a cozy, family-friendly spot with small seating. Hope you have a great time!
This was my first time experiencing bingsu and it did not disappoint. Although this is located in the heart of Pasadena, the distance it took to get there is well worth it. Many flavors and side options to choose from. I had the Injeolmi and the mixture of milk and red beans is just pure heaven!
We entered, it's a small place, but it was nice and bright. We ordered on the screen, paid, and then waited for them to call us. The shaved ice came out quickly. So glad we came before the rush as after we got our shaved ice, there ran out of seats! The ice was very soft and we loved how it was not too sweet but we could add some watered down condensed milk on top if we wanted to. The flavors also really came through in the ice. The whole dessert was absolutely light, refreshing, and delicious. They also have lattes and croffles. I highly recommend. We got the mango melon & strawberry matcha shaved ice. Will definitely be back to try the strawberry and black sesame!
This is one of the dessert spots I keep coming back to. Compared to other places in Pasadena, it's a solid option for both price and quality. My girlfriend and I usually go for the injeolmi and then pick another flavor depending on the day. I was a bit disappointed to see that they no longer carry black sesame. I've seen people complain about the wait time, but the shop is usually run by just one or two people, so a line is kind of expected. If there's a long wait, it might be better to try somewhere else nearby.
I came here with my sister in a hot day. Definitely the place to be when we wanted a cold sweet treat. We ordered from the kiosk and waited at the table. It is a small place with some tables. The place had a a clean look to it. They also have free water. My sister got the Oreo tiramisu and I got the strawberry. We liked that they come in individual sizes but even then I think we could've shared. Both were super refreshing although I definitely liked the strawberry more because it was more refreshing.

Light and sweet, though I wished they had more toppings on it. It was sweet enough without the condense milk. UPDATED: It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get shaved ice. We drove here specifically to try this place as kiddo and hubby wanted shaved ice. We arrived to a packed cafe but we still got in line to order something from a kiosk as the line wasn't bad. While the line was short the line didn't move very fast at all. All the tables were full but no one except one table was eating any shaved ice. While we waited to order an announcement came over the PA not to order extra fruit. Then a few minutes later, they announced that they were cutting off orders then another 10 minutes they shut down orders until 4pm. I'm an hour in and I still do not have any shaved iced. I don't care how popular or viral a place gets. When you have two people in the back and backed up orders that you can't fill, you simply don't know the operations portion of your business. You could pay two, three more kids $15 bucks and rake in more profits. Instead you have a bunch of pissed off people. Below is a picture of the shaved ice of the only people eating in the full cafe when I walked in. I wonder if we will ever get ours?
So we came today from an instagram post and so did almost everyone else here. Needless to say they were not prepared at all!! There was 1 worker all by herself and she tried her best. However we all waited well over an hour for shaved ice. She had to shut down orders because she couldn't keep up on a hot, busy Saturday!! We were told 20 min wait time but over an hour later, we finally got our order. It wasn't even in order since the lady behind us who I helped place the order got hers before all of us. 2 girls order 38&39 was waiting before us how why did 44 get hers before all of us. Who knows. She tried her best but needed help!! Once the owner finally showed up, they opened back up for orders even though they still haven't caught up??!?!! Who knows. As for the actual mango single, it was very refreshing and not too sweet at all! Great treat on a hot day. The food itself is probably a 4. However service and then having to pay extra for more parking since they took soo long was a bit much. We drive all the way from the OC so we had to be patient. Worth a try if you can go when there is no crowds!!
Gotta satisfy my girl's sweet tooth, so I caved and tried it too since it's in old town. First thing I noticed is that it's a smaller spot, so there wasn't too much seating available especially since it's after dinner time. I feel like they give a really good amount. We shared the smaller sized shaved ice and it was a perfect amount. Service was quick on the kiosk and it's bright inside. Thought they could use some decorations though. Melon shaved ice, 8/10: Refreshing and not too sweet. Probably what they were going for. They give a good amount of melon and it was sweet. Pleasantly surprised at how juicy the fruit was too.

Such a great spot that's totally worth the hype! The space itself is very small and was crowded when we went, but everything came out really fast. We tried the strawberry, mango melon, oreo tiramisu, and seasonal strawberry matcha. The single servings were perfect, and I would definitely be able to finish one by myself. I loved all the flavors, but the oreo tiramisu was my favorite. Would definitely come back. read more

Came here on a warm Friday afternoon and surprisingly it wasnt too busy. Ordering was easy at the kiosk, and there are a few tables inside. Unfortunately the tables get a little sticky because of the bingsu melting but it's cleaned regularly! Felt like a casual cafe. They have numbers for each order and you pickup at the counter. We got two different flavors (injeolmi and green tea) of the large sizes to share between 4 of us and that was definitely enough for all of us. The green tea was my personal favorite, and tasted exactly as expected with the condensed milk. The injeolmi one is more milder in flavor, but great for those who don't like super sweet things (like most Asians!). It comes with some mochi toppings as well. Great summer dessert spot! read more
Nicely located near a bunch of other food places so you can hit up Oakobing for dessert after a meal elsewhere. The bingsu came out pretty quickly, especially since my friend's order came out instantly after mine so we got to eat together without melting! The small/personal sized bingsu is still a big portion and I would have been satisfied with half the size to be honest, so I imagine the regular size is good for 3+ people. The store itself felt a bit dirty, but I was also there at the very end of the day. Like most bingsu places, the bowl is filled to the brim which means that some will inevitably spill over. The trays help with this but if you're sharing from across the table, spillage and therefore sticky tables are guaranteed. I wouldn't let this put you off from eating here, just don't plan to play card games on the tables. read more

My brother told me about this awesome spot for shaved ice, and it's just perfect for summer. I really enjoyed it. The shaved ice is so fluffy and has this amazing light texture that melts right in your mouth. It's both light and creamy. nom nom nom! read more
Stopped by here on Saturday night and it was the perfect treat. Its so convenient because you walk in and order on a tablet. Once your order is ready they call your name. Our order came out pretty quickly despite the place being pretty busy. There is some seating inside and a little outside. The place is really clean and the service is great. The dessert was amazing. The mango was very refreshing and perfectly sweetened. The matcha was also very tasty and it had match powder which gave it a nice nuty flavor. read more
Tbh I was ready to hate on this place bc I always thought sul & beans was better BUT. Surprisingly changed my thoughts on this place. Not sure if its just the ktown one that is worse, but this was actually very nice to eat. Parking is not too good (we parked on the street). We got our stuff pretty fast and we ordered off the touch screen. I would actually come back here all the time. One of the top bingsu places I'd say. yeah come here its yummy asf.. FOOD: Strawberry Shaved Ice - $15.99 (5/5) This bingsu was sooo good. It was fluffy and not too sweet. It melted nicely in your mouth and I also bought 2 condensed milks to come with it (although I dont think it needs it). It had a great strawberry flavor and the strawberrys themselves were not too tangy (its hard to find good strawberries i get it). Bingsus usually come in VERY LARGE portions, but this place got it almost perfectly for 2. The price point I'd say is still expensive but its normal for bingsu. Im pleasantly surprised by the quality of this Oakobing because I think in ktown it tastes a bit worse (ill have to update you on this one) VIBE: There were plenty of seats inside. Great for a date. Came later at night so it was not busy at all (not sure about day time). It was generally a really nice vibe. Quiet, nice neighborhood, and great food around the area too. read more

This place was amazing! Got the signature mango snow cream, and was huge. Honestly, I'd share a regular sized one with a friend - we couldn't finish the large! The shaved ice was perfectly smooth and flavored with the perfect sweetness. We got mochi on the side for it, and it was the perfect combination. There are only about 15 seats available in the restaurant, but we lucked out and got a spot. read more

Such a cute Korean shaved ice dessert spot! Parking can be difficult since they don't have their own parking lot but there are nearby parking structures and street parking. Ordering is easy and you just place your order in the kiosk inside. There isn't much seating and it's pretty small inside There were a good variety of flavors to choose from, such as mango melon, strawberry, matcha, Oreo tiramisu, etc. Got the Mango Melon shaved ice ($17.99) and it was served inside a melon bowl with melon balls and condensed milk drizzled on top! Super sweet and delicious! It melts really fast so be sure to eat it fast! A little pricey but very yummy and refreshing! This was 8/10 for me Would most likely return and definitely recommend for first timers! read more
Tried the green tea and mango bingsoo -- the green tea had a strong, rich flavor (wish the single serving came with red bean like the larger size). The mango was refreshing, though not as bold in flavor. Ordering's done on a tablet, and they call your number overhead. Restroom and water are available, and the cozy vibe with efficient service makes it a nice spot to cool off and relax. read more
It's a small place with some seating inside. Parking is street or structure. The place can get really crowded on weekends and harder for large groups to sit together. Self serve ordering at the kiosk. Your name and number will be called. Tried the black sesame that came with mochi. The bingsu is a bit creamy but light. The flavor isn't overpowering and not too sweet. There was a little container of condensed milk that was included that was enough for 1. I think the single serve size was enough for 2 people. Was aggressively bothered by fruit flies in my face and in my shaved snow when sitting here. Maybe it was just that one day, but you'd think that they would have some way to prevent so many fruit flies from getting into the seating area and into your food. Also, got the tiramisu snow and I would skip it. Tasted like too bland in the snow and then the coffee syrup was a little overly sweet tasting. I've been here previously and gotten the matcha, that one was better. The fly experience made this last visit very unpleasant. read more
Oakobing never disappoints! My boyfriend is really big into Korean shaved ice and this is our go to place. The portions are just the right size, which makes it easy to try different flavors without feeling too full. The shaved ice is soft, creamy, and refreshing which is the perfect dessert spot to satisfy any sweet craving! read more
Very nice, light, and refreshing sweet treat!! They are definitely pretty big tho so if you are not that hungry I would recommend splitting it with someone else. I only ate half of mine. Mine was the green tea that had matcha sprinkled on top. Another friend got the mango and strawberry ones which were also delicious. Probably took about 10 mins or less to receive the shaved ice. Pretty small inside, one a few tables to sit at but there is a lot of outdoor seating areas in general near the alleys in old Pasadena. Parking is on the street or a nearby parking garage which is pretty cheap. read more
Shoutout to one of the smoothest and most flavorful shaved ice in the area! Oakabing Pasadena is a branch from the one in Ktown! Anyway, I ordered the mango melon shaved ice and green tea shaved ice. Both are which very impressive btw! But I definitely liked the mango melon better since they also carved out the melon into melon balls! The place is rather small, so be mindful if you are coming with a big group. Service is standard since it's pretty much self-serve. One thing that can be challenging would be parking. Parking is mainly along the street, or the parking structure if you don't mind walking for about 2 blocks. But being located in old town Pasadena, parking can definitely be very challenging at times! read more

Be smart - ORDER AHEAD I can't not express the absolute disappointment with how this place is run. I came with high expectations after seeing this place on Social Media. It was a nightmare of a wait. Unfortunately, they do not have an effective or efficient system in place for managing and expediting orders. We arrived at 5:15pm and then they shut down the kiosk for 40 minutes to try to catch up. They are seriously understaffed and still taking online orders so they can not catch up. While standing in line we placed an order and that still took over an hour. We wound up going next door to King Taco for a quick taco bc the wait was insane. The place is tiny and everyone orders their stuff to go but sits there to eat it so they take up all the space and the staff is wasting time and materials packing items that could have been put in a single bowl instead of 4 containers. Now about the ice...we ordered Mango - slight mango flavor ice with fresh mango chunks. Served with condensed milk. Honestly it would have been better with coconut milk. Ice texture is good and fruit was fresh. Strawberry - good flavor and fresh fruit. Oreo Tiramisu - Oreos added good texture and cocoa dusting added flavor. It took almost 2 hours start to finish. It has potential but the wait is brutal. read more

Korean bingsoo are probably the best variation of shaved ice out there. You get a milky, creamy ice topped with fresh fruit and fruit syrup. It's refreshing and delicious with a near ice cream-like consistency. It's about $8.50 for an individual-sized portion of shaved ice and $15 if you want a larger sized portion. My favorite flavor is strawberry; however, their mango melon also looks awesome. There is limited seating, which has typically been what has limited me from coming more regularly when I'm in town. read more

Stopped by on Saturday, 04/12/25 for the very first time! There is another location in KTown as well. I went with my bf who recommended this place. We ordered the following: - 1 single oreo tiramisu shaved ice = $7.50 - 1 single green tea shaved ice = $7.50 SUBTOTAL = $15 TAX = $1.54 TOTAL = $16.54 My goodness - this place is the best of the best! I really enjoyed both of our desserts. The matcha shaved ice was very authentic. Overall 5/5 and I would like to come back and try out the rest of the menu!!!!! :') read more
We ate lunch from another place, then checked where we can have dessert and did not expect that Oakobing is just few steps away. They have one in Koreatown that we liked as well and then perfect that it is also here in Pasadena! You will NOT regret trying this. I think any flavor is so good. You just have to enter your order in their self-ordering kiosks and then they will call you when it's ready. Can order to share or single cup. ( around $7 to $15 and up per serving) .There was only one staff when we came but there were not a lot of people at that time so service was fast. Restroom is available for customers, there's not a lot of tables and chairs but can accommodate a group if there's not a lot of people. I will come back and back and back and back to this place. read more

Our first time here. The line was out the door. Employee kept making overhead announcements like: orders will take over 30 minutes. We don't have enough fruit for side orders please don't order side fruits. I'll be turning off the kiosk until 3:30 (it's now 3:02) because we're too busy. I only saw two employees not sure if there's more on the back. Very small place. Extremely long wait definitely not worth the wait, the drive, the line, the small place. Not coming back. read more

My partner found this place while we were eating dinner in the area. He can always go for something refreshing like fruit or ice cream after a meal. He did work in an ice cream shop after college. It's become our family tradition seeking out new shaved ice or ice cream places. We went in and found a long table right away. We ordered three different flavors and two cups of a decaf drink consisting of a Korean bean powder mixed with milk. I could make it at home since I have those same ingredients but my partner seemed amazed how delicious the drink was. I told him he could make it the next morning if he likes it so much. We ordered a matcha with adzuki beans, vanilla and melon snow ice. They all came with a small container of sweet cream. The melon ice was served in a half melon scooped out. My younger child loves fruit and happily ate the melon after we finished the snow ice on top. The ice was already pretty sweet and didn't need the extra cream. The slight sourness from the melon was a nice balance. The other flavors were also nice and sweet. Everyone enjoyed it. This place was packed on a Saturday night. Good business, even on a cold evening. read more

All within walking distance in old town Pasadena. My first time trying Korean shaved ice. Their menu is pretty simple as they only have so many shaved ice options. Its nice that they have a full size menu outside of the shop as you can get an idea of what you want to order before you go inside. Because once you get inside its pretty chaotic. The store is small with multiple tables lining the walls. The problem becomes where you order, where you pick up, where the bathroom is, where u place the trays as well as where you sit is all in the same general area and direction thus causing a massive bottle neck of people moving in every which direction. Which just causes needless confusion and traffic. You can only order at the kiosks. There's only 2 of them. So when there's an influx of people it gets even more crowded. Fortunately the staff here (kitchen is behind the kiosks) can get the shaved ice out pretty quickly so it keeps the line moving. If your fortunate to snag one of the tables inside then great, if not you have to either wait for a table to open up or go eat outside (standing up). The actual shaved ice is pretty good and refreshing. We got a green tea shaved ice with extra sweet milk and mocha and red bean on the side. A personal one was good for 2 people. It was light, it was creamy, it was refreshing. I enjoyed that you can control the amount of sweet milk (as well as the other ingredients) you want to have in each bite. Its visually stunning and tastes just as amazing. Just be ready to fight thru a sea of people when you enter. But its well worth the hype. read more

It was a hot afternoon, after a delicious lunch, so my family decided that some bingsu would be the perfect treat. Immediately after entering, the line didn't look too bad, but the wait was EXTREMELY LONG. It took over an hour for the order to be ready: you would think that making bingsu would be fast to make right? Not only this, but throughout our long wait they shut off the kiosk TWICE. There was no "actual" customer service as whenever the staff had to communicate with the customer they used the intercom. The ambiance was OK, the area itself was cute but tiny with very little seating. Despite the insufferable wait, the food itself was good but not worth the wait. You won't be seeing me back until this establishment learns to manage properly. read more
Stopped by Oakobing for some Bingsu, and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Mango Bingsu and Injeolmi Bingsu with red beans, and both were absolutely delicious. The Mango Bingsu was super refreshing--loaded with juicy, sweet mango chunks and paired perfectly with the soft, milky shaved ice. Every bite was light yet indulgent! The Injeolmi Bingsu was just as amazing, with a rich, nutty flavor from the roasted soybean powder, complemented by the chewy injeolmi rice cakes. The red beans added the perfect touch of sweetness and texture, making it a well-balanced dessert. The portions were generous, perfect for sharing, and the presentation was beautiful. The cozy ambiance and friendly service made the experience even better. If you're a fan of Bingsu, this place is a must-visit! read more

This place quality has gone down drastically. Their green tea shaved ice is no longer what it used to be. The new shaved ice is now a light green (like unnaturally neon green) instead of a dark vibrant green. My guess is that they now use little to no matcha and just use food coloring and high fructose corn syrup to cut cost. Not only that they increase the prices while serving a less quality item. Will no longer be coming back. There are plenty of ice cream places in old town Pasadena anyways. Service is fine, can't be blaming the staff making the dessert. They have no control over the cylindrical flavored ice they get from corporate. read more
Everyone comes here for the shaved ice, as they should, but another item that's worth trying is the injeolmi latte. It comes with a latte base that's not sweet and topped with milk flavored shaved ice. The combo is the right amount of sweetness and creaminess when mixing in the shaved ice. This is an underrated item that should definitely be at the top of your list if you love roasted soybean powder. We also got the single-serve black sesame shaved ice which is still great for sharing with two people. It comes with mochi which is a nice way to change up the texture although it wasn't the freshest. You order at the kiosk and the food comes out pretty quickly. There's a decent amount of seating inside but it might get full during what I like to call dessert hour. read more

Old town pasadena has 3 free 90 minute parking lots ($2/hour after and there is a set amount past a certain time at night) on Green Street, De Lacey Avenue, and Raymond Avenue. The Raymond parking lot is closest to oakobing.
