Fun fact that this place has been here for over 30 years, takes cash only, and the owner herself works here delivering amazing food and service! I stumbled across the place and walked in to an intimate diner that has so many amazing historic things about it! The diner is set up like back in the day and I just feel in love with everything! Not only did I enjoy the classic breakfast meal that I had - but my friends also raves about their choices (the migas and omelet). Quite the pleasant surprise. We were hungry and I was hungover like a bitch. I didn't enjoy the breakfast I had the previous day at our hotel, so, I pulled out my phone and searched on Yelp. This place came up and was less than a mile away. After glancing over the reviews we decided it was worth a shot. This place is quite the grungy dive and I loved it. It was small and crowded and the service was friendly as fuck. I ordered the western omelet with a side of fresh tomatoes, turkey sausage and a small bowl of fresh fruit (I got my cherry back). Hubs got some over easy with hash browns and bacon. When the food arrived we dug right in. I dashed my omelet with some Tabasco and began to devour that fucker. It was a bit cheesy for my liking and was skimpy on the veggies, but, otherwise tasty and filling. I loved the side of fresh tomatoes and I always go with that option when it is available. They didn't disappoint. The turkey sausage was an added surprise because I just didn't expect a dive like this to have it. Same for the fresh fruit. Over all win win. We were both impressed with this little dive and you peeps in Dallas (those of you that have never been here) need to realize what a true little gem it is for sure. They could've gotten five stars out of me, because I'm hard to please when I'm hung over, but, the lack of veggies in my omelet and the absence of drink refills docked them one. If you want traditional breakfast, settled within a homey diner/cafe environment, then this place will do. Like everyone else mentions, the prices here are super reasonable. Each person's meal at the table was under 10 dollars. I ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns, and a biscuit. I always ask for the gravy on the side since i want the breading to be as crispy as possible. The steak was just ok. I cant tell whether they reheat premade patties or not but I have a hard time believing this was made in house. It was at least semi-tender, with a noticeable beef taste. the gravy was average.The hash browns are not as crispy as I would like, but they at least taste like potatoes. The eggs were cooked the way I wanted them (sunny side up). The biscuits here were the standout of the whole meal. Rarely do I have a biscuit thats actually moist! Whoever makes these biscuits should receive an award in baking. The fact that they can consistently crank out high-quality biscuits (that they say they make in house) blows my mind. My boyfriend and I stopped in here after church and from the very beginning had an over the top experience. It's rare to find this quality of service. We were told that there would be about a 15 minute wait because they were busy and the hostess said she would come get us from our car so we didn't have to wait outside for them to call our name. The wait only ended up being about 5 minutes before she came and grabbed us from the car. The lady who seemed to be the owner stopped and gave us her full attention when she heard it was our first time in. She explained the entire menu and was sure to give credit to her staff and cooks for making the place amazing. The food itself was delicious. They brought our bill over and we put a card down and the gentleman next to me lets me know that they are cash only... we did not have cash. We planned to just go to a nearby atm and get cash but asked our waitress just to confirm they don't take card. Less than 15 seconds later the owner must have overheard us ask and goes "don't worry about it, it's paid for". We turn around and one of the customers who seemed to be a regular picked up our bill. We both left and just felt so blessed by the experience and encouraged by the people there.
