Thank you Hayden for the amazing service, he offered us all the sushi sauces and gave great food recommendations. The inside is cute and nice ambiance. The food was delicious, the gyoza was a little let down because it was a bit cold and I wish it was fried instead of half pan fried. Happy hour had great prices, best part of this restaurant was the service in my opinion.

This was my second time coming here to eat, and the service at this location was great. We came about 1 hour before closing, so it was fairly empty. We were greeted immediately by the host, and were instantly seated. Our server, Drake, was great and constantly checked up on us throughout the evening. The ramen definitely hit the spot, especially on a cold, chilly night. The broth was savory and flavorful, the noodles were nice and chewy, and the bowls came with a bunch of toppings. I loved the physical aspect of the restaurant and all the decor. It seems as if they have a large garage that they probably open up when the weather permits. Overall, I definitely see myself coming back to eat here over the Scottsdale location. Make sure to check it out if you're in the area and in the mood for some comforting food!

This place has such a cute interior and nice service but the food was not it for me. I ordered calamari, it was okay, not the best I've had. And a vegas roll, rainbow roll and one of their specialty rolls, I believe it had the word maki in it. There was just something off about each roll, like they each were a different take of the roll and didn't taste the best.

OBON's tasting events never disappoint, and tonight was no exception! My husband and I along with our friends attended our third tasting with them. Tonight's tasting featured local beer from AZ Wilderness paired with small bites from OBAN. Andrew from AZ Wilderness was delightful, and it was great hearing about all the different beers and how each one is produced with their sustainability philosophy! Following the event, we ordered dinner, as OBAN's food is incredible and worth the drive from the west valley. Fran, the manager and Ron OBAN's liquor distributor representive, are outstanding and always ensure our experience is exceptional! So, honestly if you're looking for a super chill and outstanding sushi and ramen spot, look no further than OBAN, your go-to destination.

We like coming here on occasion. The ambiance is great and the service is usually pretty good. The patio here is nice especially at night. The food is hit or miss. Sometimes the ramen is great but a couple of times it's been bland and even water-y almost (if that makes sense). The gyoza is nothing special but still tastes good and the bao is the best thing we order there! We got the wings last time to try them and those were pretty good too.

We had been to Obon at Scottsdale quarter a few years ago and didn't have the best time. We tried out this location and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is beautiful and trendy with some patio seating as well. They recommend a reservation but they were pretty empty on a Saturday night. We tried a veggie gyoza, jackfruit BAO buns, veggie cut roll, vegan street noodles and veggie ramen. Everything was really flavorful and delicious. The BAO buns and street noodles were my favorite. The ramen was full of flavor, which is often not the case with veggie ramen.

Mehhh. Service during HH was great, food not so much. Quality of fish is mid. Yellowtail had a fishy flavor and odor. Happy hour prices are great for rolls and sashimi, but you are compromising on quality. Tuna crispy rice also had an overly oceanic flavor.

Great music, wasn't too loud but loud enough for you to enjoy good food, good conversation and good music in the background. The service was ok, nothing to write home about. The fried chicken bao was pretty good

I enjoyed a Friday night meal at Obon at the Grove. Making a reservation was easy via OpenTables and I'm glad I did based on the crowd when I arrived. The hostess was accommodating when I requested to switch my outdoor seating to indoor, which was greatly appreciated. Obon has a trendy interior with a mix of low-top, high-top, and bar seating. Diners beware, trendy interiors do not always translate to comfort (see my chair picture). We ordered the tonkotsu ramen, an assortment of sushi rolls, and two bao buns. Overall the meal was good, but not great. The pork belly in the ramen was overcooked and hard to eat, the sushi rolls didn't particularly stand out. Our server team was great, but it was clear the restaurant was understaffed.

I've visited OBON multiple times and they've hit the mark each time!! The bao buns are a must!! And so are the hamachi app. The nigiri is always fresh and we tried out the hand rolls today and they were so delicious! The service was great, waitresses were attentive and sweet with a smile. Great place to visit it's very nice inside and has outdoor seating as well.

Food: we ordered sushi, veggie gyoza, and spicy ramen. It was all so tasty!! Service: I wish I remembered her name because she was so sweet and helpful on the menu. Ambiance: super fun and diverse menu and also great decor and vibes. Happy hour was amazing! Parking: easy, designated shopping center free parking Will def be back!

This place has a such a nice and aesthetically pleasing inner decor. The service was amiable throughout. For one, they don't list their sushi menu on their official online website for whatever reason. As the name implies, it's a place that focuses on ramen, sushi, as well as some bao buns and other meat entrees. The boa buns aren't like siopao or shumei though; they're more like tacos. I tried out their signature Obon Ramen and a Fukushu roll. Their Obon ramen was the right amount of spice and the right temperature for me to eat it right away. It was absolutely delicious. The sushi was packed full of flavor and well presented. It is an expensive place but I'm glad to know that I'm paying extra for good quality. I was with a group of 6. Our total bill came out to $220.90 (includes tax and tip; that's an average of $36.82 per person).

We were a party of 3 to have dinner on a Saturday a few weeks back. We were there around 7 pm, yet it was almost empty. Just few tables were having their dinner. We were seated in the back, a table before the restrooms. My husband and I tried another location back then, and now we wanted to try this location. Before going into any detail, I should say that another location was much, much better with service and food. Only the plus size of this location was the parking. But, was it worth it?.. no. We ordered a bunch of things to share between 3 of us; 5 rolls, 2 edamame, seaweed salad, and 3 sakes. Our first order was 3 sake bottles, obon edamame, seaweed salad, rainbow sushi, Fukushu roll, and Shiro Maki. And because I knew my husband, I asked for an extra wasabi&ginger. Last time I didn't enjoy their sake, it was the same. We just ordered, because I feel like sake and sushi go well together. Obon edamame was alright. Because I remember how I loved the another location's, I found this ok. It had less sauce. Probably, if I didn't try their another I'd like this. But still better than regular edamame. Rainbow sushi and Shiro Maki roll came with their regular size of wasabi&ginger plate. But we needed extra, so, we reminded the extra wasabi, she said ok. She was gone. Rainbow was alright, nothing fancy. Shiro Maki was good, enjoyable. Later on, Fukushu roll came. We reminded the seaweed salad and the extra wasabi. She said ok, she was gone. I enjoyed the Fukushu roll a lot. It was spicy but in a good way. My husband loves wasabi, but we were already out before Fukushu came. He was waiting for wasabi, our server was nowhere to be found. My brother's water got empty. Finally she brought more water, but no seaweed salad or wasabi. We reminded, she looked at the table like looking for the plate. She looked annoyed, said ok, bringing. We were still hungry when she finally brought the seaweed salad after we almost finished our rolls. So, since she was there we ordered 2 more rolls; Tataki Maki, the Strip, and another obon edamame. And once again reminded our wasabi. I mean, how hard could it be to bring one extra wasabi during a slow day? There were a bunch of servers. Not to mention bringing the salad at the end. Finally, finally, the extra wasabi came before the fourth and fifth rolls arrived. She kinda tossed it on the table. But whatever. So over it. Tataki Maki was interesting but good. The Strip was better without its crab mix topping or less of it. Generally, the seafood tasted good/fresh. But it was so overwhelming with the server and food being late to arrive.

Upon entering, we were free to seat ourselves and chose a booth by the wall. It was not busy at all and the service was quick and friendly. We started off with a large sake bomb paired with a Kirin Light ($15). We then ordered two Tonkotsu Ramens, one medium spice and one hot spice ($15.99 each). Honestly, the hot spice level did not taste spicy at all, so I would recommend going extra hot if you like spice. They also provide chili powder on the table if you want to add more spice yourself. The ramen broth itself could have used a tad more flavor. I lightly added some soy sauce to the broth which is something I often do to add a little kick. I loved all of the toppings included, from the green onions to the kikurage (wood ear mushroom). My favorite part was the pork chashu, which was really tender and delicious. I also appreciated that the ramen came with a full soft boiled egg rather than half an egg, and the egg was perfectly runny. Before leaving, we ordered their tea special that was buy one get one. We got a matcha milk tea and a cafe latte which I forgot to take a photo of. I felt like the cafe latte could have used a little more sweetness to balance it. Also, I found it neat that Nishikawa offers a rewards program, not something I see often at ramen shops. My true rating would be 4.5 due to some of the criticisms I mentioned above, but overall I still had a good experience. Thank you for serving us. Visited 5/2/26

We popped into the restaurant and didn't have a reservation. There were a few tables that were full, but it was definitely more empty at that time than packed. The hostess was not necessarily the nicest person and more focused on her phone. She greeted us, but went back to texting. We stood there for a minute and the restaurant phone rang, which she answered. After standing there for 5-7 minutes, she came back and seated us. As we approached the table, we noticed that it still had plates and bowls leftover from the previous customer. The busser quickly removed them and wiped the table down for us to take a seat. The server came over relatively quickly and was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. Since it was two of us, we wanted to try a range of things but our main focus was ramen. We decided to order some edamame to start, which was okay. It wasn't super fresh, but overall it was decent. For our main course, we ordered the kaizen and the hafu sushi. We ordered the Obon ramen to split. Not long after ordering our food came out. The server was really attentive and placed our ramen in two separate bowls for us. As far as flavor goes, the Obon was extremely spicy. I'm a spicy girlie and I couldn't even eat it. I ate the noodles, but the broth was too much for me. I passed it on to my husband and to my surprise, he actually ate it (he doesn't like spice). I think his sore throat trumped the spice. The kaizen roll was really good. We actually loved that. The hafu, not so much. The cilantro flavor was a little too heavy on the roll itself. We would definitely give this place another try if ever in the area, but maybe order something different.

Overall, I really enjoyed it, although the eel was probably my least favorite of the flight just personal preference. The crispy tuna rice was easily the star of the meal! Crispy, flavorful, and the textures worked so well together. I would 100% order that again. The ramen, however, was just okay for me. It wasn't bad or inedible, but the broth was lacking that rich, deep flavor I look for in a good bowl of ramen. A little more depth and seasoning would really take it to the next level. The service was honestly one of the highlights. Our waiter was super friendly, cool, and attentive without hovering, which I always appreciate. Overall, there were definitely more hits than misses.
