I kept it simple with soda water while plugging away on my laptop, but my wife enjoyed a fresh salad along with a burger and fries, which she said hit the spot. The real standout was the service; our hostess Barbara greeted us with such a warm smile and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. We're already planning to come back in the evening when they have live piano music--hoping it amps up the energy a bit more. This place was haven for us..on those evenings where we didn't want to leave the hotel because of the heat or when we just want to rest after a long tour, we felt really fortunate that this bar is just an elevator away from our hotel room. The ambiance is perfect..overlooking the French Quarter, its design and decor epitomizes the sophistication of Westin Hotels. The crowd was a mix of vacationists and corporate people who are there for meetings and conventions, and the staff were all polite and personable. What a beautiful retreat from the busy streets of New Orleans. The observatory really has a great bar with a view of the French Quarter and River. My friends and I came from the 4 Seasons for a drinks and yap session with a view. I had a zero proof (canned) Lyre's Spritz while my friends had alcohol beverages. I also ordered a burger and fries because I was pretty hungry. In total it ran me about $35 with a tip but the pricing is to be expected at a hotel restaurant. We sat around for about 1.5 hours and the servers were so helpful and kind. It was not very busy on a Monday evening so it felt like we got extra attention which was nice. read more

This is a great spot for beautiful views and tasty small plates. We stayed at the Westin and were drawn in by the beautiful space and large windows overlooking the river. We stopped in for happy hour and they have some pretty fantastic deals. I went with a French 75 and my date had the Old Fashioned and they were both made to perfection. I also tried the French 86 mocktail and it was so good! We tried a few of the small plates. The charcuterie was my personal favorite but I also LOVED the truffle fries. The fresh burrata mozzarella wasn't our favorite - it just wasn't easy to eat and I think it could have used more dressing for flavor. Located in the lobby of the Marriott, this restaurant has an amazing view of the French Quarter and the Mississippi. By far, the best part of this experience was the drinks. I had the Berry'd Alive and I think about it all the time. The staff were friendly and helpful and honestly did their best to make sure we were comfortable. The food on the other hand wasn't bad, but I wouldn't have it again. The steak I had was good but the fries were not. The pasta was mediocre. This place could be so much more. Why have a beautiful spot but use cafeteria tables. Finish with great furniture. The service was decent but the drink we had nasty. Don't call the drink espresso martini if you using cold brew. It was just poorly made and the mix was bad. Did not go well. Appreciated it was with oat milk instead of dairy. Again they have a prime spot they are just not utilizing it to the fullest to draw ppl. Didn't eat any food so can't comment on that. read more
