I brought in my car in for a noise and the mechanic said he knew what it was, the head gasket. Quoted me $1000 because they use oem parts. After a week of my car sitting outside catching dirt I picked it up just to bring it back after a few weeks. It had an oil leak because the guy did t put the gasket properly. He did tell me after he fixed the gasket, the transmission code came up. $700 for the filter and transmission flush. Picked up my car and after a few days a sensor issue came up. Took it back and he said he would fix that and charged me a couple of hundred dollars. When I thought it is finally done another code came up and the expalanation was that codes come up as a result of the previous being fixed. This one would be another $2000 but it would maybe have other codes. I declined the fix, took it to another mechanic and he opened the engine and showed me the gasket was never replaced, I asked him to check transmission pan, never replaced. They are crooks and just charge yiu for services they don't render. I asked them multiple times for the invoices of the parts, of course they didn't respond. If you are looking for trouble go to this place, they will drain your wallet and leave you in a worse shape. The explanation is that they go strictly by the "codes in the car", not so much their technical knowledge on how to actually fix the car. Not sure where these reviews come from, but from the few times I visited I met a few others who went through the same as I and were angry and waiting for this place to fix their cars. read more

BEYOND the call of duty!!!! I had to start with that. Here's the story: We took our 2000 Excursion in, thinking we needed a motor, a huge expense. Weiss (I think is his name) got us out in a day for $185, just needed an ignition coil. WOW! But wait, it gets better. After getting in the car to drive off, I got out and asked him if he could check the brake fluid. He said he already had checked the brake fluid, transmission fluid, oil and windshield wiper fluid, and had added half a quart of oil. He HAD NOT said a word about it, had not charged me a cent for it, not even for the oil. I wouldn't even have known that he did all this extra care for our car. I called a few days prior for an estimate and it was 60% less than Dodge. 2013 Ram 1500- water pump. I was thinking of replacing the drive belt and thermostat as they recommend the same too. I didn't red too, but why not.. it's tucked away behind the Subaru dealership in the industrial auto care center. 3 chairs in the lobby if you want to wait like me, or the owner will take you where you want, he recommend Starbucks. Or you can pretty much walk to one of the 50 businesses to browse, eat or chill. I did my homework and I'm a customer for life. Second time here. First time was about 4 years ago...2 S2000's (Yellow Era) ago. Current S2000 (White Era) was due for a smog check for registration and I had an appointment in the area. I called the shop 30 minutes out to make sure they would be available. Very friendly and upbeat person that answered the phone, told me they had two cars lined up for a smog check, but should be ready by the time I arrived. Arrived 30 minutes later, and true to their word, they were ready. Super friendly and professional. Even while juggling the phone and other clients that showed up, I felt they took taking care of their customers and clients very seriously. Yes, I intentionally used the terms customer and clients in the same sentence because I truly feel that these folks here will convert any customer into a long time client simply due to their professionalism and customer service. My previous mechanic retired and my office also moved around the same time, so I needed to find someone closer to my work. After checking around, I gave OC Auto Care a try and I'm so glad I did. They have been super helpful and honest with me from the beginning. I went to them knowing there was already a nagging issue with my car (nothing urgent, but eventually would need fixing). When I took it in for an oil change, they let me know that they also noticed the issue, but that it didn't seem urgent and as long as I kept coming in for regular maintenance they could keep an eye on it. So right away they didn't try to pressure me to fix something that really didn't need it. I've always found them to not only be honest in any repairs that need to be made (even when I'm practically pulling my wallet out and they're saying it's ok I can hold off a bit before needing to replace a part), but they also stand by their work and have always been able to squeeze me in when I've got an emergency. This smog testing site is a hidden jewel and it's more valuable when they take $20 off your bill. Once I found where it was I was greeted by a friendly attendant who offered me a bottle of water (sorry if I forgot to drink it, I was busy editing the directions pic), he then quickly worked on my car. These guys are so honest! I recently bought a Lexus with a lot of miles (130k) and I knew it would need some work. I've been in their shop a couple of times and everytime they are quick and fair. One problem I had only required a brake pedal switch to be replaced. So many other shops would've padded the bill but I got out of there for well under $100 - part included! And for some things they have told me, "don't waste your money on this. It is a minor issue" rather than try to take my money! My final issue with the car has to do with the heating system. The Lexus dealership wanted $1,000 just to take apart the dash and find the problem. OC Auto Cair (Waise) told me to bring it in and they could explore under the dash with their camera for a lot less $$$. Extremely positive experience! Just started a new job that's six days a week and brakes started grinding in the front. Got off early today and asked Suri on my phone for the best auto repair shop in Rancho Santa Margarita and OC Auto Care came up(Even though it's in Lake Forest) first with 5 stars and 283 reviews, so I drove straight there. I arrived at 2pm they closed at 3. I was just trying to arrange a night drop for the upcoming week. They went above and beyond to get me taken care of and back on the road. The owner even ran out personally to get all the parts needed for my repair. They replaced my front brake pads and rotors, rear brake pads, air and cabin filters, battery terminal, oil change, smog, and checked all my fluids and even stayed open until 4pm to take care of my car. The cost was beyond reasonable!!!!! About 1/2 what I expected it to be, with top of the line parts. I will definitely be returning for my auto care needs and referring friends and family. AC wasn't working and I went here via referral because my previous mechanic moved. My previous mechanic told me it was the compressor so I shared this information and told OC auto care that this is what the previous mechanic and if they can confirm this. I leave my car and get a call back saying that they are going to replace the compressor with an after market one for $800. I get the car back and the AC works for a week. I take it back and I'm told it's actually not the compressor and it's the control box. I ask why did we replace it if it wasn't that and why we didn't confirm it was the compressor. Apparently I am blamed because He accused me of telling him to replace the compressor. I am not a mechanic. I trust a professional to do a thorough job. If I went to the doctor and told the doctor I have cancer, should the doctor just start the chemo process without confirming that I actually have cancer?? Complete lack of thorough care and blames the customer seeking a professional. Also, I even still considered replacing the control box and he said he'd call me on Monday. If you know the exact problem with your car, they are happy to give you quotes over the phone! Unlike some shops that tell you to come in so they can take a look at the car so they can upsell and pressure you into other repairs. Speaking of upsells. Waise would always notify me on other areas of the car that need repairing as well but he has never once in 5 years pressured me into getting additional repairs.
