I didn't know California license fees for cars are paid annually When you buy a used car with a current license plates you only pay a small transfer fee. They charged me as though I was buying a new car. $1.377.00. Just received check Oct 23, 2020. Needed to contact DMV enforcement department to get them to repay me. They will probably say this was some sort of clerical error or that the employee is no longer there. Both would be a lie. They are not honest but have a gift for gab. I was really excited when I found a Lexus RX Hybrid at this dealership for purchase. They provided me a quote online and we started to negotiate back and forth over email, finally coming to an agreed upon price of $27,000 OTD plus I would pay the registration of $250 (I have emails of all these conversations to backup my story). I asked if they would break that number out so I knew exactly how much I was paying for the car, TTL (tax, title, and license). He replied back, "Sales price is $24,945 plus 7.75% sales tax plus $250 for DMV, plus $55.00 doc fee- plus $58.00 smog fee, plus $15.00 transfer fee." Great, I thought! We definitely have a deal. Along the way he was asking how I would finance and if I would be interested in certifying the car with an extended warranty. I was genuinely interested in the certification but I had planned on paying for the car in full with a check from my credit union. Things started to get fishy soon after we had agreed on a price and remember there were no contingencies that I finance through them or be obligated to buy the warranty or have the car certified. A day or so later I got an email stating they had to take another offer because the guy was there and was offering more, "We just got an offer for $26,250.00 on the car, so I am going to have to decline the offer you made. Thought I would give you the heads up, so you do not have to make the trip here tomorrow." To be honest, I completely understood and just thought oh well. Then the very same day I get another email saying that after giving it some thought and talking to the owner of the store they realized they should honor the deal they gave me, "I just sat with the owner and explained to him that I already worked a deal with you. (The other deal is not going to get done until next week.) The owner agreed with me that we should honor our word to you. So if you choose to come down tomorrow see the car- and decide to buy it- I will honor what we spoke about. Integrity is very important to me." So, the deal was back on because they had integrity and wanted to honor the price we had agreed on, great! I lived over an hour away at the time, so I drove up to buy the car and guess what? No deal. Apparently with the financing not being part of the final arrangement they decided not to honor the price we had negotiated and apparently all integrity was out the window. This happened in April of 2012. I figured telling my story still holds value before someone else gets mislead by this group. I had actually posted a review earlier this week but it was taken down because I hadn't delivered enough detail, which is fair. I recently contacted OC AutoHaus about a particular a suv they had. Spoke with the "GM" Tim there. Seemed like a nice guy to start the conversation out, said they had just gotten the car and it needed to be detailed and serviced. We were going to go up there due to it's a hour drive to test drive it said it wouldn't be available till after 2 pm on Saturday. I asked him if we could just come up Sunday he said he was off and he was the only one that could give us the break on it. I told him I would let him know, he text me on Saturday at 3:51 pm stating "Chris-where you at buddy? Tim OC Autohaus" I didn't know we became buddies so quickly first of all and your texting? I responded to him with I have to wait till Monday to get a preapproval letter from my finance manager since she never sent it to me. His response was "ok" then it was I am off tomorrow (Sunday) we we can do it Monday-but I could do the deal today without it if you want. I responded back I have to wait till Monday. His response at 6:31pm on Saturday "I'm gonna pass on this sale brother-Sorry- but I don't like being left hanging-I just did a lot of work on the car- so I raised the price-good luck in your next purchase some where else-Tim. I wouldn't recommend dealing with Tim from OC Auto Haus as for he is a tool. Referred to me as brother, I'm sorry I've served my country in the USMC and lost brothers in that, I didn't see us being brothers of me inquiring about a suv. I would highly recommend staying away from them and doing business else where. I saved the text he sent just for the purpose of I hate tool salespeople that go back on their word. I've been searching for months for a particular suv and they had it, but I'd rather do business somewhere a little more trusting and not such tool salespeople. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. First I called on the phone to make an appointment. I spoke with someone that told me the car was in great condition and had a clean car fax. When I got there they waited till the very end to tell me THE CAR HAD FRAME DAMAGE AND THAT THE CAR FAX JUST DIDN'T REPORT IT. How scandalous can you be? I bought a car at this facility a few weeks ago. They sold me a car with only one key and made me purchase a 'new' key for $180 that had a big scratch on it! It clearly was NOT new and probably the second key that belonged to my original set. This is very dishonest of OC Autohaus!!! Bought an s550 from them over the weekend, pretty easy and pleasant experience. They went extra steps (wheels swaped, pannel replacement..) to get us the car we wanted. Compared to other large dealers which we also purchase luxury cars in the last few years, OcAutoHaus is just as good on service, and better on price. We will see how post-sale services go, so far so good for me. We bought cars from them since they were a small dealer in GG, and they are quite big + established today, that would have to do with good customer service that lead to further referral and sale.
