This place is a scam. Bought a car last week, test drove it and it seemed okay. I asked questions about the car to ensure it was okay and the guy said, "it is in good condition. My mechanic checked it out." Come a few days later, the car makes a weird noise. Took it to my long term mechanic only to find out the noise was due to a broken suspension. In addition, my mechanic found filthy old oil, worn tires that aren't even the same size, and other issues. Great experience at this place. Good value and took care of what we wanted and needed. It is tough finding the right used vehicle, not usually much is curated, but they found us a fairly decent warranty for the used vehicle as well, lowering the price just enough to make the warranty a better value. Fraud alert! Buyers BEWARE!!! Boy did I dodge a bullet here... stopped by to check out the 2012 Hyundai Veloster they currently have listed. Less than 40,000 miles, single owner, car in great condition, with no known issues (so they SAY)...come to find out after a little digging that there's a MAJOR safety recall on the car. Apparently a fuse needs to be replaced on the main braking system, otherwise fluid leaks out and has been causing Veloster engines to catch fire and other electronic malfunctions. Mind you, at NO TIME did the dealer inform me of this, despite my repeated inquiries as to whether there was any important things I needed to know about the condition of the car. "Nope, the car is in great shape!" they assured me as I innocently started the car to go on a test drive. Red Flag #1 was when the car started but wouldn't move when I pressed down on the accelerator. It seemed like the car was still in park, even though it was clearly in the drive position and I was pressing on the gas pedal. I turned off the car and tried again. This time the car shifted into gear with no issue. Weird, I thought. Maybe it was just sitting too long on the lot? I later learned that this is a sign that the brake fuse leak is causing a short circuit (You know, the brake fuse that needs replaced due to national recall that I wasn't told about? The one that could lead to engine fire.) I continued on to take a short 10 minute test drive where something just seemed off about the car. The steering wheel seemed to pull slightly to the right as I was driving (almost like the frame was damaged) and the car seemed to vibrate a little too much when sitting in idol position at stop lights. According to the dealer, the tires just needed to be aligned. Hmm...I immediately decided to schedule an inspection at a later date to see what my mechanic had to say. Long story short...once I learned about the safety recall, I immediately followed up with the dealer and inquired why they hadn't mentioned this to me. I let them know that they should have this unresolved safety issue clearly listed on their advertisements, otherwise it's considered fraud. I also sent them a copy of the official recall notice which states that they're not even allowed to sell a recalled vehicle (nor present it to potential customers) without first fixing the recalled issue. No response from them of course. I'll definitely be filing formal fraud complaints against Speedline Motors with the CFPB and the BBB. Red Flag #2 was when I inquired about financing options and was told my bank (JP Morgan Chase bank) did not offer loans for used cars over 2 years old. This is downright ridiculous. And a blatant lie. I've financed 2 used cars in the past (both over 2 years old) with no issue. This was just a ploy for them to try to get me to sign up for their private lending at a high interest rate. My guess is that they saw someone who looked young and might easily be taken advantage of. Speedline Motors is a prime example of why people have become so mistrustful of used cars dealers. Seemingly kind, caring and smiling to your face when you first meet them while actively working behind the scenes to stab you in the back. Pathetic, greedy swindlers who could care less whether they're endangering others just so they can make a quick buck. I totally get (and support) making a profit for one's business, but not at the expense of human safety. I'm not sure why anyone would want to attract negative karma to themselves based on dubious actions such as these? But alas...that's the energy Speedline Motors has decided to embrace. As for me, thankfully I did not enter into any contract with them. I can only imagine what sneaky things they'd try to insert into the financing terms. Part of me wonders if they even have an actual title for some of the vehicles on the lot. Anyhow...do yourselves a favor and keep looking elsewhere! If something seems too good to be true (especially at a used car dealer with ongoing negative Yelp reviews), then it probably is. I've attached screenshots as proof. Spoke with Ali over the phone and via text took look at a vehicle (needed to get into one) and reserved the vehicle on their website to be seen, and told Ali that I would show up to the test drive and showing with a check from the bank. As I'm leaving the bank with my LOAN this guy hits me up saying that they already sold the vehicle the night prior and that "normally" people put do a deposit?!? Not only was my time wasted and essentially lied too but he even tried to gaslight me like I was wasting his time? Honestly is recommended not getting a vehicle from them if that's how petty they'd go to hide from doing a cheapskate tactic I'd only imagine what else they'd be willing to hide or do if not noticed. I'm a skeptic about 'used car sales", but if I could give them a 10-star rating for value and customer service, I would! First, my son purchased a Toyota 2002 Toyota 4Runner in 2018. He had such a good experience that I (Mom) purchased a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder in 2020. Then, in 2023 my husband (Dad) purchased his FIRST-EVER used car from Speedline!!! A 2015 Honda Odyssey to drive the grandkids around. He loves his new "ride". Speedline was great and easy to work with. They stand behind their vehicles--which means a lot. Any used car might have problems - but I'm old enough to tell you - the most important thing is--will the seller stand up and make it right! Speedline (and specifically "Ali") did just that. They are a stand-up organization! 3-times over! I'm not part of their "family and friends" who provide fake reviews. In fact, it's been at least 5 years since our family first bought a car from Speedline, and this is my first post. We are common/general customers (just like you). But we are customers for life! They do not want to negotiate at all on prices even if there is actually something wrong with the car they'll say "i won't make any money if i go any lower". not even a month into getting a 2007 honda fit from them it had catalytic converter problems and motor mount problems. A week in i started getting check engine codes. They get the cars smogged next door so they're probably passing any car that goes through there. They will mark up the car at least $1000 more than it's actually listed at. Actual scam artists, I ended up getting rid of that car but i came back to look at another one and it was the same issues the car had suspension problems and had been in the lot for almost a year they didn't want to compromise on a price. They didn't even remember me plus the car had bad suspension and water intrusion, they only wanted to take a couple hundred bucks off. I ended up getting the same car with less miles less owners and overall better condition for around $1200 cheaper. don't waste your time with them. read more

I am super happy with my experience at Speedline motors! Their spot in Garden Grove is run by Muhammad Ali and Brad. These guys are awesome and have exceeded my expectations. If I need to buy another car I would call these homies in a hot second! They're just a couple of dads, two-man operation running this place so it's not Nordstrom's , however, if your patient you can get a great value in an automobile which has been my experience. They might seem friendly but the truth is they are very sketchy. They give you the CARFAX. That is a great tool to start with. Once I read over the CARFAX, I noticed discrepancies in the odometer reading. CARFAX last reported mileage was 20 miles more than the odometer on my so-called- future-car's dashboard. 20 miles to me didn't seem significant but I was hesitant about it. They let me take the car out for a test drive again at my request. Thank goodness my stop during the test drive was not to the bank. It was to the auto repair shop. I got my car INSPECTED BEFORE PURCHASING!! I highly recommend everyone do this! They charged me $65 and it was worth every cent because I would have spend $12,300 on a car that needed $3,000 worth of repairs. Not worth it for a 2009 HONDA CRV. This just didn't fit my needs and my budget so I walked away. I wasn't going to purchase a car and hope for the best because of how much they advertise their WARRANTY and EXTENDED WARRANTY. How about not pay a cent, and KNOW the real conditions of the car. Wish I could have taken the car, but it just was not meant to be. read more

I made the mistake of buying a car from them. During the test drive it seemed OK only to discover after the car stalled on a busy street about a week after I'd purchased it, that the transmission was gone and I had to pay them $3,000 for a used transmission. The car has been running OK since but they knew damn welll the transmission was in very rough shape wen I purchased the car. I have to give this place 5 stars because of customer service. The owner really wants his customers to be satisfied! I got a car here last year & it started giving me issues, at first I didn't think they would help me but I reached out anyway and was assisted promptly. Every car will give you problems and I learned that from my friend who has a 3 year old Nissan and started having car troubles right before me, she's had to shell out so much money for a car that everyone says is reliable. As I was going through my own car troubles I started realizing that mine weren't so bad & it should be expected, the owner gave me different options on how to resolve my issue and I was able to choose the best option that fit my needs as well as finances. I drove all the way from Cardiff to check out a crv that they said was in perfect condition with no body damage at all but when I got there the left rear quarter panel looked like it was fixed using a hammer and an ice pick and most of their cars looked like crap. They also park them so close together you can't even get into them and they have lots of lot damage due to this. They are just like the usual car dealers = liars and cheats with no shame at all. I was shopping around for a used Toyota 4Runner but had a very limited budget. I saw a posting from Speedline on Auto Trader and called to view it. For the year of the car, it was in excellent condition, but had a broken AC and sunroof. Brad worked with me and offered to have both issues fixed for a low price. You can tell this company is very knowledgeable, and they have a lot of great connections for other miscellaneous things like if you need to repaint or want to get a fob made for your keys. I left a very happy customer. Car runs smoothly and everything works. I would highly recommend this place for a used car. They have a large inventory on the lot plus a nearby storage with even more. I was shopping for used cars and found what I thought was a great deal at Speedline Motors (2009 VW Jetta). If I could go back in time I would, with my experience after purchasing the car I would NEVER recommend coming here. The car salesman, Ali, was extremely dishonest, either through negligence or willful deceit, throughout the whole process, and sold me a car that needed over $3000 in repairs. To the contrary, he told me repeatedly that the car was in perfect condition. When purchasing the car all that was disclosed was a little crack in the windshield, and that the key fob needed a new battery. I was also informed that, should any other issues come up, I have a warranty for any repairs regarding the engine or transmission. The day after purchase I took the car to my mechanic and found out about an oil leak in the engine, a coolant leak, an issue with the SRS airbag light, and that the door locking mechanisms are beginning to go out. I informed Speedline at how disappointed I was with this new information, and asked them if they could please fix the issues covered under their warranty as well as the airbag issue. Thinking they would do the right thing, I took my car to have it fixed with their mechanic and left it for the entire day. The following day I took it back to my mechanic to resolve the issues not covered under their warranty and found that they had put adhesive over the leak and spray painted it so that it "LOOKED" fixed, and despite telling me they would resolve it, their airbag technician never even showed up to work on the car. I was in a difficult position where I did not have a lot of options available to me, and I feel very much like this business took advantage of me. After a long search all over So CA for a used vehicle for my son we visited Speedline Motors. Not only did they have the perfect car at a great price but the transaction process was excellent. The vehicle needed a couple parts- they ordered the needed parts and installed them a week later. The car was able to be cleaned and has been working perfectly. The lot honestly isn't pretty, kinda rough area. But well worth the visit. I was able to use a credit card for part of the transaction as well which many dealerships will not accept. Run away from here. Not worth the hassle. They lie and you get different stories. Cars are a good price but you need to know your stuff. They tell tall tales, we were told if we bought the car we'd get 60 days 1000 mile warranty. Went back the next day and was told 30 day, 1000 mile warranty. The license plate was covered with their name and we waited for a license plate only to find out the plate was covered by a paper with their name. Then to find out the last tag is 2014!!! Now I have to go to DMV to get a current tag. Hopefully we won't have to get it smogged also. I will NEVER refer this business or go back. read more

Now I live on Catalina Island and bought the car for my kid who was attending his first year of college, (so i need a safe car). And seeing that I live on the Island I could not rally drive the vehicle to much or to often. So my next trip to long beach I took it to a REAL mechanic, well they found the problem right away and the total cost was $2490.00 to fix it, (stabilizer bars and rack and pinion). Now the funny thing is I have not even driven this vehicle 75 miles since I bought it. (obviously not driving it daily it went out of their little 30 day warranty).... When I texted the owners of SPEEDLINE MOTORS, alls i got in reply 4 days later,(and that reply was only cause I text them again), the only rely I got was, "well you had a 30 day warranty!!!! - Locale Destination - It's on Garden Grove Blvd and Jefferson St in Garden Grove. It's at the corner, not so big space but full of used and older cars. Office: Empty and bland like most dealers. Inventories: lots of cheap cars that you can buy with cash - under $10k. They look good and price seemed very cheap. If you knew about cars and could buy in cash, it could be good. Customer service: - Cons - * the gas tank was empty * the cleaning job was half ass * their mechanics and dealer seem unreliable - Pro - * friendly and make things easier for you * they let you bring the car to your mechanic before you purchase it * easy to get the refund * cheap * available almost 24/7 for your car needs * gives decent warranty even for the cheap cars Mechanic: Despite of their mechanic check before handed it out to me, DMV and carmax reports as "clean" title, and the fact that the dealer quoted "very good and no damage", my mechanic pointed out it had been in accident right after he checked through. The radiator was leaking, the left side of flame in the hood was patched, breaks and the engine squeaked non stop and so loudly right after I started driving, the paint job was poor, the flame of hood got uneven spacing (due to the accident), the hatchback was hard to open due to the flame work damage of the accident, door squeaked, though the car looked like a new. When I pointed out all, the dealer said "I didn't know" and he changed the bumper despite he told me "no damage" on the car.. very skeptical not knowing all. Though the dealer was nice to have told me he would fix all the issues with extra warranty, but how can I trust whether if it would be ok or not after all these ?!?! I highly recommend to check it with your mechanic before purchase. - Conqueror's Deduction - I needed a car that won't give me a headache. They were nice but I'm skeptical whether if they were trustworthy or not. They weren't pushy and made it easy to return it after I decided not to take it. You need a good eye on cars if you buy a car from here. Lessons to learn: - Not bad to buy a car in cash. You can get a better deal. I don't like the debt. - Bring it to your mechanic to make sure it's ok. Carmax is a total BS and unreliable. Many car dealers seem to be crooks. It's very rare that you see over 4 stars on any dealers. The industry seriously needs improvement so that consumers won't get screwed. - Check engine and all. The white splashed dusts inside of hood means it's leaking or damaged sign. Absolutely awful business, not honest people. I bought a vw from them and had problems from the day I bought it with a check engine light coming on. I get Ali to fix it through his mechanic and that was all a lie as the problem comes back again after driving it 2 hours back home. I get my mechanic to fix it. As I have owned the car more has come to surface with the quick fixes these guys make on cars to fool people into thinking the cars are in good condition as they tell you. I find out my motor is not original, my hood is not original and missing emissions sticker, my car door got replaced and when that happen we uncovered it had shotgun holes. Feel completely taken advantage of this was my first car purchase and am very disappointed that a business can still be running this way.
