Got real lucky at Talking Stick so we came here to treat ourselves. We ordered a Strawberry Lemonade and a Blueberry Lemon Sour mocktail to drink, and for food we ordered a bunch of appetizers since we weren't too hungry. We got the half dozen Raw Oysters, Caviar Scallops, Wagyu Beef Tartare, Shrimp Deviled Eggs, Clam Chowder, and Boursin Whipped Potatoes. The drinks came out first, the Blueberry Lemon Sour was a little TOO sour for my liking, I was assuming it'd taste like a blueberry lemon drop but it was a lot more sour and tart than I imagined. The Strawberry Lemonade was a good balance of sweet and sour. For food the complimentary bread came out first which had a crispy, almost croissant-like top but super soft inside. It was covered in melting butter and came out in a hot skillet. We had the option to have the dishes come out one by one but we opted for everything to come out at once so our small table was pretty packed! I loved the large selection of condiments that came with the Half Dozen Raw Oysters. There was two different Vinegarette Sauces (one dill, the other standard), Cocktail Sauce, Horseradish, and a Mustard. It also came with two of the tiniest Tabasco Sauce bottles which was adorable. Next we tried the Caviar Scallops, I usually love raw scallops at sushi restaurants so I was expecting to love this dish...but it didn't quite wow me. I've never had caviar before but I assumed it would have packed more flavor. Next we tried the Wagyu Beef Tartare, and it was good but honestly I've had better elsewhere. They serve it with some kind of pita bread, minced onions, and capers on the side so you're able to mix it in yourself. I feel like it was missing some salt, acidity, and maybe a raw egg yolk to bind all the flavors together. The Clam Chowder was a miss, the flavors definitely weren't there so I would pass on that next time. The Shrimp Deviled Eggs were decent, the shrimp was fried and glazed. The Boursin Whipped Potatoes though, were super delicious and we opted for all the fixings (topped with bacon and chives). This was probably the most flavorful and tastiest dish we had! We were too full for dessert, but we were given two small complimentary Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with our check. The service here was impeccable, definitely loved the intimate ambiance. The total for all this food came out to be $222 (look at this angel number!)
I wish I could give Ocean 44 a 4.5-star rating because the food was fantastic, but a few service bumps kept it from being a flawless 5-star experience. We are big fans of their sister restaurants, so we were really excited to try this location! To start, my husband was thrilled with the bread service. It is very unique and reminded us of a fancy Pillsbury croissant. We skipped taking pictures of the appetizers because we dove right in, but the meatballs were delicious and the colossal shrimp cocktail was great. The shrimp are ordered à la carte, so I chose to get three of them. For drinks, my husband loved his spicy mezcal margarita. I had the pineapple mezcal margarita, which was good, but it wasn't very pineapple-like despite me asking for it to be. For the mains, my husband had an off-menu Wagyu strip with sides of broccoli and fries, which he really enjoyed. I had the linguini and clams, which I was super excited about. The clams were very good, though unfortunately not the best I've ever had. I actually found myself wishing I had ordered a steak with a seafood topper for a surf-and-turf situation instead, but overall it was still really great. The only reason I wouldn't give this a full 5 stars is because the service was a little shaky at first. There were several times right at the beginning where we needed our server and she was nowhere to be found. Interestingly, the restaurant got much busier later into our dinner, but the service gaps happened at the start when it was still slow. Overall, it was a really great dinner and we will definitely be back!
I recently dined at Ocean 44 and had an exceptional experience. The atmosphere is the perfect balance between intimate and upscale, making it an ideal spot for either a business dinner or a date night. The service was welcoming throughout the evening. We started with the pull-apart bread, which was warm, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. I ordered the ribeye, and it was cooked perfectly with incredible flavor in every bite. My friends ordered the NY strip and the pasta with mussels, and both dishes looked amazing. The quality of the food, service, and ambiance made for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, meeting clients, or enjoying a night out with friends, Ocean 44 delivers on every level. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning.
5 star upscale surf and turf fine dining restaurant . Very pricey and everything is ala cart. Valet for everyone and there's a dress code. The food was decadent, rich and a tad on the salty side. The service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our server Ryan knew the menu by heart and took great care of us.
We booked this restaurant for my daughter's birthday, and they truly made the evening feel special. The customer service was 10/10 from start to finish. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and incredibly welcoming. The food was phenomenal, and we left beyond satisfied. We have dined at many upscale steakhouses, and these were some of the best steaks we've ever had. We started with the shrimp cocktail, where you order each shrimp individually. It was worth every penny. The seafood is flown in fresh daily, and the shrimp were large, tender, and incredibly fresh. The horseradish and cocktail sauce were the perfect complement and absolutely delectable. They also offer an excellent wine list with great selections to pair with your meal. The ambiance is elegant and upscale while still feeling warm and inviting. While waiting for our entrées, they brought out a pan of buttery, flaky rolls that were impossible to resist. My daughter and I both ordered the 8 ounce filet, while my husband had the Caesar salad and meatballs. Every dish was savory, flavorful, and mouthwatering. The steaks practically melted in your mouth and were perfectly tender. The buttered corn was hands down one of the best side dishes, and the Brussel sprouts did not disappoint either. We also ordered the scalloped gouda potatoes, and the portions were generous enough for the entire table to share. The three of us even had leftovers for the next day. To top off the celebration, they had my daughter choose a complimentary birthday dessert, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. Overall, an exceptional dining experience that we can't wait to return to.
We have dined here for date nights, as well as special occasions. It is/was one of my favorites in Phoenix. I typically can say it's a 5*. This time it was closer to 3.5*, but I'm rounding up since it is typically better than it was the night we went recently. Pros 1. Beautiful decor and luxurious vibe 2. Most of the staff is professional Cons 1. About 1/3 of the oysters were not shucked well and had shell and/or sand on them. 2. Music that didn't fit the vibe. I forget what was playing but it seemed like dentist's office music. It was bad enough to notice that it was something that seemed out of place. 3. The young guys who served the sides seemed high. They plopped the food on our plates and had it dripping and extremely messy on the sides of the serving dishes. One of the guys dropped some of the spinach/artichoke dip on the floor and didn't seem to notice or care. Someone else came by later to clean it up.
Celebrated a friend's birthday here. All of the staff were friendly from the hostess to our server Danny who took care of us. Our table was clean and our waters were kept full. Dimly lit restaurant with moderate noise level. We started with the crispy shrimp which was so flavorful and crispy. You can never go wrong with calamari, which was solid and delicious, love the peppers. I drank the coastal rita which was a refreshing margarita, would definitely order again. For my entree I got the 12oz filet mignon with the brussel sprouts as a side (which is served in a way meant to be shared.) The filet is served on a 500° plate so it continues cooking . I prefer medium well so it was a lil too pinkish initially but eventually got there. Tasted great though! Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as well! We ordered dessert which was complimentary for my friend's birthday. So yummy! Great service, food, and ambience.

Still my fave spot for seafood in Scottsdale and probably my fave overall in the Phoenix area. Service was excellent and our food was good all the way around. I had the arctic char and scallop potatoes + mussels. Ambiance was especially good this time because we were seated in the area with the private booths and a view into the kitchen. It was an early birthday celebration and the experience was great.
Visited for my fiancé's birthday. The food?? One damn word. DELICIOSO We ordered the roasted spanish octopus, the truffle fries and the surf and turf. The highlight was definitely the octopus dish. Tender.. flavorful.. a quick of spice.. well balanced. Still day dreaming of it My wife and I did think the presentation of the surf and turf could be improved as well as the seasoning for the steak. The steak did need salt. Maybe a chimichuri sauce to dip would be good for this one just because it was a little dry (we ordered medium-rare) However!!!! The LOBSTER?? DELICIOSO again, tender, buttery and just perfect size! The ambience here was very nice for a special ocassion. They do have valet but the garage is right across so it's super easy anyway! We also wanted to applaud the service dynamic here!! They have the waiter and A LOT of sous chefs helping with delivering food, cleaning off plates and even sweeping off the table. You can tell everyone is so attentive even if it was holiday season and a SATURDAY. They were on it. Amazing job.
We've been here a few times, and our last visit were seated a smaller dining room with just a few tables it was quieter and helped us be able to hear one another better. I ordered the bone-in ribeye and it was incredible -- a huge portion, cooked absolutely perfectly. The sides were great, the crème brûlée corn stole my heart. Service is great, cute little birthday card when we arrived for us.
Beautiful restaurant inside and out. Delicious food and swanky atmosphere. We were seated next to a service table and there were a few guys (employees) chatting away with f-bombs thrown in, which was extremely surprising, but other than that we really enjoyed our experience. The complimentary rolls were amazing; so tasty that I couldn't stop at one. The crispy shrimp deviled eggs were SO delicious; I've had cravings ever since. The menu offers lots of appetizer, potato and vegetable side options. (The only thing I would mention is that the Torched Scallop appetizer is just that - torched only so they are raw scallops.) The drinks were interesting and tasted great too. Overall a great meal in a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful decor.
I decided to come here and enjoy a couple of appetizers and a glass of wine after my hair appointment at Sachi. I did not have a reservation, but they were able to seat anyway. However, I was told that I needed to be done by 6:45. That was fine because I arrived at about 415 so they gave me plenty of time to eat. One of my girlfriends also joined me as well and as usual, we sat at the bar. The bartenders were fantastic....very personable with great customer service. I can't remember the female's name, but she made a wonderful spicy margarita for me. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the lobster escargot, and I wasn't a fan of it. It had a mornay sauce that was more like a soufflé, and I just felt that that over-powered the lobster. Also, it was way more mornay sauce than lobster. It did have a little bit of caviar on the top but again that was lost because of all of the Mornay sauce. I ordered the oysters Rockefeller with a side of a couple of scallops. Both the scallops and the oysters Rockefeller were fantastic! In fact, the next time I go, I will definitely order that for an entree. Overall, if you want good seafood and get service, this is definitely a place to come to.

One of our recruiters salt dental partners organized a dinner for us here. Initially was told we had exceeded the limit of number of people, however they did make accomodations. We were a total of 20 people, we had one room towards the end. It was a really nice set up. It was a preset menu with good options. We started with meatballs, I didn't try it but heard it was good. Tried the calamari and shrimp, the calamari was a little on the chewier side but the shrimp was really good. With respect to the main course , I got the tuna, the fish was seared and still felt fresh. I tried the branzino as well, it also was very good , cooked well and quite flavorful. The deserts were also really good the warm cake an ice cream and then the peanut butter cheesecake. They also had some sides such as brussel sprouts and potatoes. The potatoes were really good as well. The service was top notch, very organized for such a large table. No mistakes and well taken care of. read more
Ocean 44 is great for seafood lovers. Upon entering you see a huge seafood set up with an open kitchen, which is always very comforting as you know your food is handled at the utmost care and deligiance. It an amazing upscale place for those who like to enjoy fine food with fine drinks. Their portion sizes to justice to the cost. If expense is not an issue, this is the place for Seafood. The raw bar is absolutely amazing, so is the Lobster preparations. Given this is mainly a seafood place, don't expect much from the Steaks here. Drinks were amazing. Since we did not order desserts, they gave us cute chocolate cookies.. Service was spot on and polite! Complimentary valet parkinh is a first!! read more

Absolutely out of this world. Not only was this probably the best meal I have ever eaten, but the entire restaurant staff made me and my husband's 10th wedding anniversary incredibly special. We were at a nearby restaurant earlier in the night that completely missed the mark and we had to walk out. I called at 9:15 to see if they could get us in and they made us a 9:30 reservation. We were immediately seated and greeted by every staff member with congratulatory wishes. Brandon helped us select incredible meals and wine. I had the sea bass with a king crab leg and the au gratin potato's and brussels stouts. My husband had the Australian wagyu filet and said it was probably the best steak he has ever eaten. From start to finish, this was such a wonderful experience. Thank you to everyone at Ocean 44 for saving our anniversary date night. read more

Seriously, I have never had any restaurant call me the next day to make sure I enjoyed my experience. Ocean 44 knows exactly how to treat their clientele . From the hostess, to the bartender all the way to our waiter. I had a great time. The food was amazing, amazing, amazing. The martinis were perfect and yes the dessert was bomb too. I love how you can see in the kitchen when you walk in and the entire restaurant was very chill. We booked reservations again two days later. Oh and I have to give a shout out to the valet staff, very kind men. Until next time Ocean 44. read more

A great upscale restaurant for special occasions, celebrations, business meals, or just a really nice dinner for the heck of it. After having had great dining experiences at the sister restaurants for past special occasions, we knew we had to try out Ocean 44 also. Service from start to finish was friendly, attentive and overall phenomenal. The table was always clean, and our glasses were never empty. Drinks and bread service were brought to us in a timely manner, followed by an appetizer of the New England lobster rolls. The lobster rolls were buttered to perfection, simple but classic. For our main entrees, we got the bone in ribeye, and the filet mignon, with a side of the shrimp risotto. Both of our steaks were cooked to medium rare perfection. However, the shrimp risotto was a bit underwhelming for us unfortunately. The ambience is classy and quite spacious, with elegant and modern décor throughout with surprisingly lots of natural lighting filtering in if you come early enough before the sun sets. Reservations are highly recommended. Our reservations were for around 5:00 pm on a Wednesday night and they were already quite full when we arrived. read more

We went to celebrate our anniversary and from the moment you walk in you know it's going to be special. The first thing you see upon entering is the raw seafood bar with the huge shrimp, king crab legs and oysters We are greeted by the hostess with a friendly smile and taken to our table. The decor is sophisticated and welcoming. We're asked if we want white or dark linens for our lap, this is not asked at your average restaurant. We are immediately greeted and asked our water preference and then presented with the evenings menu and wine list. Fresh bread was also brought to the table. Our waiter was wonderful in explaining the menu and answering questions. I ordered the superfood salad and my husband had the colossal shrimp cocktail to start. I've never seen shrimp so large in my life and they were delicious not chewy. My salad was fresh and had just the right amount crunch from the seeds yet not over powered by the goat cheese. For our entree, I choose the island scallops and my husband had the big eye tuna. Both were outstanding!! The scallops were seared to perfection on the outside and tender on the inside. The tuna was seared just enough so the tuna was still rare when served. It was so delicate and tasty. The sides are big enough to share. My husband had the loaded bake potato which could have been a meal in itself. I ordered the roasted mushrooms which had a blend of wild mushrooms perfectly roasted. The wine list is extensive and we enjoyed a bottle of Chardonnay. Our waiter did an excellent of job of keeping our water full and topping off our wine. Dessert was an over the top chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache. The layers were filled with a chocolate mousse, a true delight for any dark chocolate lover. read more

We had an incredible experience celebrating our anniversary at Ocean 44. We were seated and there was a card congratulating us on our anniversary. Cameron, our server, was simply outstanding. We were never left unattended and he immediately asked if there were any allergies. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and the wine. His assistant serving staff were also excellent and extremely friendly. Bread service and cocktails were brought out followed by our appetizer, oysters at gratin. Absolutely delicious. I chose the filet and my husband chose the Chilean sea bass. Both were cooked perfectly. For sides we chose the au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach and artichoke. Outstanding. We were even treated to a glass of champagne for our anniversary. The evening couldn't have been more perfect thanks to Cameron and the staff. The restaurant was packed, however, the noise level was fine. We thoroughly enjoyed our night. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite places, not only to eat, but also to have delicious drinks. The services are unbelievable. The food is great. The staff is on point. The chicken Fried lobster is my favorite thing on the menu and also that bacon thing I forgot what it's called but it is absolutely delicious. Definitely make reservations especially if it's for something like an early Valentine's Day dinner. We made reservations about a month ago and a lot of times were taken so probably make reservations earlier than a month out. Anyways, we came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner and used their complimentary valet parking. We went inside and we're seated immediately due to our reservation. This restaurant looked nice inside and there were a lot of people at 5pm. The lighting was low so it might be hard to read the menu. Our waitress was nice and gave us our menus. There was a lot of choices on the menu for seafood and steak. We ordered a dozen oysters (half were kumamoto and the other half were the east coast ones but I forgot the name), the Pacific Yellowtail Hamachi, the New Bedford Sea Scallops, the 45 Day Dry Aged Bone-in Ribeye, the Shells and Cheese, and the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. We also ordered the Mango Habanero and the Strawberry Rhubarb for drinks. The Mango Habanero was spicy to me and the Strawberry Rhubarb was not bad to me. The bread looked like cinnamon roll shaped bread and was good. The oysters was good with the sauces and the Pacific Yellowtail Hamachi were good as well. The New Bedford Sea Scallops were okay to me but the 45 Day Dry Aged Bone-in Ribeye was delicious. The Shells and Cheese were good and the Roasted Brussel Sprouts were also good. Overall, everything was good for the first experience here and would recommend it. read more

Best dinner of my girls foodie and relaxation weekend in Scottsdale! Ocean 44 is the sister restaurant of Steak 44. Fun fact: the original founders of Mastro's steakhouse & ocean club are behind these restaurants and Dominicks, explaining the quality and superb service. One cannot go wrong with seafood or steak. The chef goes fishing and serves the best catch of the day himself. read more

Wow!! A truly remarkable experience! I was given a gift card for Ocean 44 as a Birthday gift- we went on my birthday. We were seated in the main dining room by the glass kitchen and near the fireplace. The atmosphere is very trendy and all the beautiful people gravitate to delicious food!! We had a lovely birthday card waiting at the table- our server Hanna was very knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful navigating the menu. We made our selections and the choices were fantastic! I began with a champagne that was very pleasing. My husband had a mocktail that was Devine...I ordered one later with my meal!! We shared the wedge salad that was fabulous with the large pork belly pieces. We had a few fresh shrimp and the sauces they give to compliment them are amazing! My husband ordered steak, I had Alaskan King Crab leg- they even took it out of the shell....Nice service!! The flavors were remarkable! We had the Brussels with the pork belly and that was the only item that wasn't top notch. Good but not really anything special. We were so satisfied that we just shared a vanilla latte and a gelato to celebrate A special night from start to finish- we even received a call Thanking us for coming - very classy touch!! read more

This place is gorgeous, lovely and everything you would expect from a higher end restaurant. From the friendly valet to getting seated promptly, even when we were early for our reservation, we felt welcome. Drinks were lovely...and a really good pour for a wonderfully made dirty martini. Oysters and shrimp and sauces...perfection. Steak and scallops..divine. The cheesy potatoes au gratin were also so good. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the creamed spinach/artichoke side...too smoky for my taste and wouldn't order it again, but still good enough to eat. Pricey of course, but worth it for a 5 star dining experience! Will definitely return. read more
If you watch my page and know that this is one of my favorite restaurants as always, everything was great. Our service was A-1 as always. We had a reservation at five. They said it exactly at five in great seats. Great atmosphere great music. They do have a lot of new items on the menu to choose from they also did take a couple of my favorites off for the season and I hope they're coming back soon such as the short rib, macaroni, and cheese, which if I had a vote ( which I don't ) it would never ever ever ever come off the menu but the new shells and cheese were pretty good as well. You can never go wrong with visiting here. I had the butchers cut. It was perfect. It melted in my mouth as always, never disappointed. Thanks for always being consistent. Wowza! Pre dinner dirty martini (extra dirty) at the bar - refreshingly delicious! Fresh warm croissant - scrumptious! Clam chowder - creamy and flavorful! Chilean sea bass with creme brulè corn and shrimp risotto - OMG!!! Crab cakes with creme brulè corn and shrimp risotto - outstanding! Warm vanilla Carmel cake with ice cream (compliments of the manager) - great way to end an amazing dinner experience. The entire staff was very welcoming and very friendly. The service was so good we felt like they were catering to us - Steve, the manager, dropped by our table to wish us Happy Anniversary. Came here for a friend's birthday while we were in town visiting from Kansas City. This place was ON POINT. Service was amazing and the food was to die for. My group shared a number of dishes and every single thing we had was delicious. They even brought out 2 desserts, including a beignet tree for the birthday girl. So thoughtful and kind.
