This was my first time here. I ordered the flounder & shrimp platter that comes with hush puppies slaw and fries. The wait was not long and the food was really good the batter was well seasoned on the shrimp and fish. The cole slaw was good I will definitely be back

This popcorn shrimp is over cooked nasty. The sweat tea had so much ice in the cup I took two gulps and was done.

When I tell yall this food was so good I wanted to call them and tell them but seriously it's my first time having it and it's better than alot of seafood I've tried, so good I couldn't even take the picture without eating some first the sandwich was way bigger than I expected and the onion rings were the best

This little place opened recently in the location that was occupied for years by Old Hickory Barbecue Restaurant. This is not a particularly attractive section of town, and the building is old and worn looking, but the interior is nicely decorated and well lit - a pleasant contrast to the exterior. They are open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner, and there is a fair amount of seating area for eating-in. They offer almost exclusively fried seafood - Whiting, Tilapia, Catfish, Flounder, Grouper, Whole Croaker, Shrimp, Clam Strips, Oysters, & Scallops. In addition, there are Tempura Seafood Burgers including Shrimp, Oyster, Fish, & Soft Shelled Crab. Chicken Wings, Buffalo Wings, and Chicken tenders are available. Sides include the usual items available in fried seafood places, along with Fried Okra, Collard Greens, and Onion Rings. The Whiting Lunch Special ($6.50) comes with 3 large pieces of fish, FF, Slaw, several Hushpuppies, and a drink - this is a pretty nice value. The Whiting we enjoyed was fresh tasting, and fairly well seasoned. The batter used here is a tempura type batter, and the result is a thicker, breadier coating than you find in most seafood restaurants in this area - it does mute the actual flavor of the seafood to some degree. The Popcorn Shrimp Lunch Special ($6.95) comes with the same side items, and this also is a very nice portion of shrimp. The batter is the same, with the same result. The FF here are nice, though a little under-seasoned, the Slaw is fresh & and a little on the wet side. The Hushpuppies are not plentiful, round with a nice crust, but a little doughy for my tastes. The Oyster Burger ($3.95) is not an item I'd try again - there were not many Oysters, the breading here really overpowered the oyster taste, and there is just too much bread to seafood here. The folks here are nice & friendly. The food is cooked to order, so there will be a short wait. Not a bad place for a quick seafood luch at a decent price.

Way too hard batter on shrimp

I was visiting from out of town and had a taste for fried seafood. This location was near the hotel and we decided to give it a try. I almost immediately wished we had tried driving a little further out. The interior wasn't impressive at all but kind of a mix between an Asian restaurant and seafood spot. As I was attempting to place my order the guy at the register kept trying to complete my sentences, first turn off, and as I was asking a question he was trying to order for me, like he was rushing me. After placing the order, 1 fish plate, 1 popcorn shrimp plate and 1 fish and shrimp plate we waited at a near by table. While waiting we could see bugs (ants & flies) all in the windows. So we sat away from the window. After 15 mins we received our food. It looked ok but when we tasted it, it was a let down. The batter they use is not a traditional fish or shrimp batter/flour. It was extra thick, almost too crunchy, you could barely taste the seafood. We reached for the ketchup bottle that was on the table and there was an ant crawling on the tip!!! Oh well $26 later none of finished our food. I would never go back. Would have been better off with a fish sandwich from the Mcdonalds across the street.

The mac and cheese tasted a lot better than it looked. It was wasn't great but it was kind of what you'd expect of a fast casual spot. I really liked all the lemonade flavors they had. All of them were pretty good and I definitely recommend trying them out if you're not afraid of a little sugar.

I threw the suggestion out to Sally and she thought it would be fun to try something new so she picked me up, we got on Gate City Boulevard and drove west until we found this place in a small strip mall. The outside won't necessarily draw your attention, but once you step inside this simple takeout/ dine in spot, the experience is totally different. As soon as we walked in we were approached by a gentleman who must have been the owner. He was incredibly kind and appreciative of our patronage. He explained all the dishes and a little bit about the company itself. This guy was full of pride about Seafood Destiny and I was impressed. Besides dining inside, they offer takeout and catering services. He was particularly proud of some of his dishes and when he told me that the crab legs was a special tonight for $20, I knew that was the best fit for me. You pay at the counter after you choose your selection and then have a seat and wait for your food to arrive. We were the only ones in the restaurant, although I did see a few people pop in for takeout. I could not help but wonder with it being so empty whether the great reviews would match up to what they claimed. I got my Diet Coke from the fountain machine with unlimited refills which always makes me happy. After chatting for a while with Sally, this huge plate came my way. The crab legs special for $20 was amazing. Not only did it have plenty of crab legs, but it came with a half-dozen beautiful shrimp with excellent seasoning, turkey sausage, corn on the cob and delicious scalloped potatoes. I ordered a side of asparagus. Although it was tasty. I don't know if the asparagus was worth $5. On the other hand, the main dish was a real bargain!! The food was delicious. Sally ordered salmon with pasta and loved her dish as well. I just ate and ate and ate and ate and eventually devoured the entire dish. Boy, that was good. No doggy bag here! We were each served a special dipping sauce from the Seafood Destiny. It was sweet and tasty but I was happy to just devour the fish as is. It was well seasoned and scrumptious While we were eating, a young man came out to chat with us. Something told me he was the son of the owner or he was indeed the manager or both lol. We had a nice chat about the place and it's history and he really appreciated our visit and hoped we would spread the word. I will! We arrived at 6:30 and before we knew it it was 8:00 and the place was beginning to close. I devoured my last crab leg, got a refill on my diet Coke and we headed out. Both Sally and I discussed on the way home what a delicious meal that was, how lovely the owners and staff were and what a shame that there not more people in the restaurant. I am hoping that was a fluke on a Tuesday night because Seafood Destiny definitely deserves customers. The place was simple, but the welcoming staff, the good priced seafood meals, the plentiful portions, and most of all, seeing the incredible pride and love the owners put into this place made it a winning combination for me I'm always a big fan of family owned operations and Seafood Destiny deserves your patronage. Whether it's shellfish or salmon or grouper, I highly recommend you head over to this place. As unassuming as it is on the outside, the inside was a delicious and welcoming experience!. I will be back and I hope to see you there!

We settled in on the small outdoor patio on a very fine spring evening for a meal that hit the spot each point along the line. Well... Maybe except for their chairs. These chairs were not the kind you would usually sit outside to eat in, more built for reclining with a drink in hand. It was not comfortable to sit forward and eat my meal. But man, was that meal ever delicious. Chips came out with three types of salsa, and we ordered the guacamole provincial to go with them as well. The chips on their own were decent, but each salsa had a unique flavor and amount of heat that kept things interesting. The guacamole was chunky and full of flavor, with a good enough portion for the four of us. When the meal came, it was clear I had won dinner. I got the "Mezcali's Best" which honestly, I think it was their best effort. Grilled steak, chicken, shrimp, onions, peppers, and zucchini in a chipotle queso sauce. Man. THAT SAUCE. That sauce just simply made the whole thing incredible. To the point when I cleared my plate, my wife had me scrape the sauce onto what was left of hers. In addition, the refried beans had an excellent flavor, I am not usually big on the beans... but this one had me wanting more. Chips used to scoop up some beans, rice, and sauce... were so so good. I would definitely come back here, probably sit inside, and order the Mezcali's best (or anything I can get that chipotle queso sauce on) again.

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We've had incredible experiences at another Full Moon location. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We ordered grilled oysters, a pound of shrimp (peeled and deveined), and a half-pound of king crab legs, items we're very familiar with and order often. The grilled oysters didn't seem grilled at all. They looked strange, had very little butter, and were almost completely flavorless. The shrimp was another letdown. It was under-seasoned, wasn't peeled or deveined as ordered, and was gritty. We also never received the corn that was supposed to come with the boil. We could have mentioned it, but by that point we were already so disappointed that we didn't bother. The king crab legs were clearly not fresh. The shells were so old and pliable that they bent instead of cracking properly, and the inner membrane stuck to the meat. We didn't eat it. They made another order which was the same. Our waitress said they don't receive orders for the KC often so they may have been old. Ummmmm! The service didn't help the experience. The staff seemed standoffish from the beginning. Our food was dropped off without any explanation or follow-up, and we had to ask for everything we needed instead of anyone checking on us proactively. However our waitress was happy to help us remove the crab from our bill and she was pleasant. We know this isn't representative of every Full Moon Oyster Bar because we've had fantastic meals at another location. That's what makes this experience even more disappointing. We were celebrating a special occasion and left wishing we had chosen somewhere else.

We ordered drinks and an appetizer and they came out fairly quickly. The Korean BBQ Spring Rolls are very good! Now for the not so good part. We ordered the fish and chips to split- that was all we ordered after the appetizer and it took forever for our order to be brought to the table. We watched a couple tables around us, get their food before us, and they had been seated after us.. The server had to go back and check on our dish a couple times before it finally came out. I will say the fish and the chips were fabulous, but the corn was terrible and should probably not even be included on the dish. It was WAY overcooked and chewy. The coleslaw left quite a bit to be desired as well. No seasoning, no flavor and was just bland. When it says wasabi coleslaw, I am thinking it is going to have a little bit of a kick to it but nothing. They could definitely save themselves some money by eliminating the corn from this dish, make the coleslaw an option as an up charge and could lower the price on the dish in general or add a third piece of fish instead of the corn and coleslaw. We started out with cocktails. I had a Hendricks dry martini straight up (it was delicious) and my wife had a Don't Call Me Sweetie which is mix of Hendrick's Gin, Lemon, Cucumber, Basil, Simple, Saline 15. It is very citrus heavy, so be advised. She had them cut it with a bit of cranberry to offset the citrus. For main courses, my wife had the grilled salmon and she chose sautéed garlic spinach and wasabi slaw as her sides. I ordered the shrimp and grits and my side was blackened green beans. Let's talk main course first. My wife's salmon was terrific. Flaky and moist and very tasty. My shrimp and grits was unique because it was a real balance between large pieces of shrimp and the grits. Many times you'll order this dish and end up with a pile of grits with some shrimp sprinkled on top. This version is very tasty and a really nice balance of flavors. The Cajun seasonings have it some kick, but it did not overpower. The side dishes are where we had a couple of surprises. First off the sautéed spinach was really delicious, but my wife's wasabi slaw was bland. It's a huge shocker because when you see the word wasabi, you expected to have some Asian kick to it. This did not. It was hard to even identify that it had wasabi in it. That was a disappointment. The surprise was the blackened green beans. They actually were one of the stars of the show. Their flavor and texture was just awesome. We could've ordered a huge bowl of it and eaten all of it. While it didn't need it, there was a dipping aïoli on the side, just in case we wanted to add that to the green bean experience. As I mentioned off the start, Fishbones is a very casual experience. It's very pub-like in that way. We really loved it and the wait staff, which is a team approach as anyone who passes you makes sure you're doing OK, were kind, upbeat and helpful. Even with the bland slaw, we can't lower our rating because overall the experience was terrific. We will definitely come back.

The atmosphere is busy, lots of people chatting, but you're still pretty much able to hold your own conversations. Jake was our delightful British (I think) waiter. He brought us our beverages and described what had to be 5-6 specials for the evening. Everything sounded delightful, but I've been wanting that fried flounder since day one! Jake even brought us a sample bowl of hush puppies with butter. YUMMM!!! The dinner came within 10-17 minutes, nice & hot! Everything was pretty tasty. My flounder was a little bland so I requested some salt & pepper to add more flavor. I got the chili sauce on the side because the fish is the star, not to be covered with Thai chili sauce.
