I literally have mixed feelings about this restaurant. *Pros: friendly staff, food was hot and fresh, didn't take much time to recieve order *Cons: sketchy location, not the cleanest of establishments, fried fish had no seasoning literally used hot sauce and tartar sauce for flavor, overpriced for frozen/store bought hush puppies, prices don't reflect quality of food Overall I wasn't impressed. Although my food looked appealing it lacked MAJOR flavor; which made me feel like the $11 spent wasn't worth it. Doubt I would return

I ordered the Catfish Nuggets Basket w/Fries and they were delicious! They weren't cooked to death. I'm fact I put them in the oven for just a few minutes and they were just right. The flavor was really good. The fries were also perfect, crispy on the outside and soft inside. I had so much catfish left that there was enough for today, but they were mysteriously gone when I decided to have lunch. Lol! I'll definitely try those again. I also noticed on a white board that's they now have salmon nuggets. I'll most certainly go back to try those. I would've gotten them had I seen the sign initially.

Very disappointed in my $15.95 shrimp and flounder basket. Showed the lady my proportion of food and she said the flounder is weighed. No problem I won't be back. ‍

Let me start by saying the fish was amazing! I got the catfish and shrimp combo with fries. The fish and shrimp both had the perfect amount of breading and had great flavor. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is due to the amount of shrimp that was given with the combo. The amount of fish was perfect but you can see the small amount of shrimp that was given in the pictures. I would also say the tarter sauce was a little sweet for my taste but all in all this place is a spot not to pass up. The seating inside is limited with approximately 6 or so 4 top tables.

Just got into town and was hankering for seafood. Our go to spot was closed for another hour and I couldn't wait that long. A friend recommended 42 Fry so we went there instead. It was a very clean establishment, and we were greeted as soon as we entered. Okay, off to a great start! They had a varied menu - all types of seafood prepared many ways. We opted for a whiting dinner since it came with 5 pieces of fish, hush puppies, a side and a drink. We picked greens as our side btw. The wait was minimal, and all the food came out piping hot. First bite of greens was excellent; tender, seasoned well and best of all not from the can. Next up Cole slaw. Now the slaw was slightly sweet, again nicely seasoned. The only thing about it is that there wasn't enough. The very very small container was something like what you have in the grocery store. Just enough to make me annoyed for not ordering an extra side. The hush puppies were crispy on the outside, and so delicious on the inside. I loved the fish!!! Fried to perfection, good portion and enough for me and hubby to enjoy what I considered a cheap eat about $14. Sorry my pic isn't the best...I told you I was hungry...

Great place to stop in for lunch. Fried seafood is basically the entire menu. Portion sizes of food are very filling. You definitely won't leave here hungry

They don't answer the phone for To-Go orders, they provide a menu online and tell you to order and yet there isn't the capability and the worse part, if you do show up, social distancing isn't in place. After being so annoyed, I took my business elsewhere which aggravated more because I wanted to support the black owned business and even more so on this day but as usual epic fail! Can't ever blame the community for trying.

These guys do a great job with fried fish. Never greasy and always fresh. I would go as far as to say in terms of fried fish they are the best in town. It's not a very large place so at times there can be a line.

This is my 2nd lunch visit and I found that I can get my fish & shrimp grilled .... YES!!!! ..... The catfish & shrimp are seasoned & fried done, not hard like _____ Absolutely delicious! I love the spiciness of the sauce and the roasted corn was quite tasty.

First time eating here.... Taste wise it's good, but was drowned in sauce. Would prefer the option of lettuce and tomatoes. There is a wait but my food was freshly fried and hot!

My whip cream. But yea patti pie.

I've been to Cooper's Hawk locations in Virginia, Illinois, Florida, and Texas. This one was the best of them. The wine list is vast, and the menu was everything I remembered. I had the Tempranillo red with the meatball appetizer, and a chicken Caesar for my entree. Every plate came out right. Nothing was off. But the food isn't what I'll remember. The service was. Kalynn and Iva behind the bar, Richie in the kitchen, Vinh out in the shop.... each one was sharp, warm, and genuinely dialed in to the experience. That combination is rarer than it should be, and this crew had it working together. A note for Cooper's Hawk Corp: You're opening in Cary this fall. These are the people you'd want carrying that launch. They know the culture and they know the service, and it shows in every interaction. Great food, a wine list worth lingering over, and service that actually stood out. Greensboro has all three. LET'S GO

Brook was an amazing bartender and host, although she was very busy, our entertainment came from watching her and when she had a moment or two she interacted with us with conversation and membership information. She made this experience beyond enjoyable and 5 star rating! Being at the bar was the best seat in the house. The vibe of the restaurant has a dress up feel. When you walk in its almost breath taking because whoever put this business together paid attention to the small details. Music playing was not loud, it was very low but just where you can hear it and enjoy the conversation of a friend. The bisque was absolutely one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the flavors a definitely must try and will be ordering again upon returning. Being it was lunch time the appetizer menu was the go to and it was also a great choice because I got full pretty quickly. The food presentation was wonderful. The egg rolls came with 3 dipping sauces...I did not care for the cashew one due to it had a sweet taste. The italian sausage flatbed remind me of a pizza and it looked really good. I did not try it, but my friend said it was amazing. This was a great experience and will definitely be returning to explore the menu a little further. Thanks again Brooke you was truly amazing!

The space has a laid-back, industrial vibe and does a great job honoring the building's history. This is the third business I've seen occupy this location since moving to Greensboro, and I love that they kept the original garage door windows while giving the space a fresh identity. Between the craft cocktails and arcade games, it's a fun place to spend an evening. The cocktails are great and well crafted. They run about $15, every drink I've tried has been enjoyable, but the House Cosmo has become my go-to, the martini list is a favorite of mine. The bartenders are always friendly and welcoming, and it's fun knowing that one of them founded Girls Guide to Greensboro. George's Garage also keeps things interesting with a great lineup of events, including monthly book clubs, craft nights, and weekly trivia (shout-out to Zero Dark Nerdy!). One tip if you're visiting: George's Garage shares the building with Machete and Sage Mule, so there are parking spaces nearby. Just don't park at Deep Roots Market--you'll likely get towed. Whether you're meeting friends for happy hour, planning a date night, or just looking for a pre or post meal drink, George's Garage is definitely worth checking out. I'll definitely be back.

Dodging a huge rainstorm we decided to sit at the bar and the staff was very friendly and attentive. We sampled a beer or two before deciding on a couple suds and the poutine appetizer while we decided on the main event. The place was fairly busy and they do have a decent outdoor patio also. It's a chill, hole in the wall, neighborhood watering hole type of place. We chatted with a few locals and my wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere. They had some great beers on tap including several from Foothills brewery and also full liquor bar to send a few rounds for any occasion. I settled on the Mad Haddock (I know who orders the fish at a burger place) and my lady had French onion burger. The deep fried asparagus was a playful side that was memorable. We both really enjoyed the choices. The fries could've been more crisp but overall they were passable. The haddock sandwich was incredible and that tartar sauce was incredible.
