We left Crunch after 17 years (well, technically it was Gold's before but you get the point) because I had a female stalker and Crunch wouldn't help me (even with restraining orders). I was wildly unimpressed with their non-assistance. We went to Equinox bc it was supposed to be nicer and it was only a 1 mile walk from our house - fantastic. While it looked nicer, it was not nicer. It's old, outdated and limited. It's stupid expensive. And the hours really, really suck. So after a year, we left Equinox and we were wavering on going back to the Bay Club or joining the Y. Our kids really wanted to work out and the Y was a great option for a family plan. So we joined for them. While testing it out and thinking we might bounce out to the Bay Club, we ended up loving it. They recently upgraded all the equipment to smart equipment and I'm diggin it! I haven't seen these machines since I was at an upscale gym in Houston a couple years ago! I love the price ($185 for all 6 of us, plus it as daycare vs $230/mo at equinox per person and no kids are welcome) I love the normalness of the Y too. I may make great income, but I don't want to be with the stiffs. I want to be where my roots are.

Mega-cities are no different than mega-corporations and their problems for their workers. I've noticed Reno and Sparks governments in Nevada have chosen the mega-city model, and its citizens are suffering from it. They have lower school scores and far higher: cost of living, crime, suicides, mental health issues, homeless, taxes, blight, and infrastructure in need of repair, and pay discrepancy between those in government versus its far lower-income citizens.

Tables were set up on time, and we were permitted to enter and decorate just before our guests arrived. They had a projector and screen that we could use, and we had a fun family "jam" session of acoustic music with musicians on both sides of the family. We used the "Grand Oak Room" and there was plenty of comfortable space for all. Taylor was easy to work with and the event took place without a hitch! Bathrooms were clean and nice. I am not much of a using apartment-gym-kinda person but this one changed my mind. It is so beautiful. There are two parts to it. First floor has a small room for strength training and includes a good amount of "must-haves" equipment's. Second floor has treadmills, stair master, elliptical, and cycling machines. Everytime I go here, its always clean and smells good. There is also a big room behind the cardio equipment where Pilates, Yoga and dance classes are held or could be held. I use this room for stretching and warm-ups. What makes me motivated to go here and workout almost everyday is the view when I am running on treadmill. There is a poll outside and beautiful palm trees. This makes me feel like I'm on a beach or something. Hahahahaa. Love it. When you are done working out, you can go take a dip in the pool and swim. Also, there is a shower room and restrooms on the first floor. Its usually busiest in the morning 7-8am to 11am and at evenings 4-5pm onwards. Lunch times are usually less hectic almost close to none. If you stay at Beach Cove apartments, then definitely check it out. It's worth working out here for free than paying at outside fitness center.

(I like the rec pool, because I've got chronic pain and mobility issues, and the warmer water plus steps or ramp to get in are both really helpful for that.) Buuuuuut I do want it to stay open, so. I GUESS you can also come to the (public) pool (that I don't own). Begrudgingly. Honestly it's nicer even than the time I somehow got a month of free membership to a private sports club. The single, solitary complaint I've ever had was that someone(s) misses the urinal in the men's room so badly that it smelled like, well, badly missed urinal. You know. And so I dropped off a comment card and they fixed it and even emailed me to let me know. Hello? That's cool, I wasn't expecting much after my experiences with Burgess Pool. (I want to love you, Burgess, but you still haven't been resurfaced and you're still bad to walk on barefoot. It's been almost ten years since I first said that. Come on, man. I know what the economy is like, but be so for real.) Like when I say "the locker room is nice" what I want you to understand is that it's individual stalls, with curtains (unlike Burgess. Come on, Burgess, you are losing in every bracket!) and granite surfaces and good water pressure and it actually gets properly hot. It's always clean aside from the single Pee Stank Incident, and it's not dripping wet all over. It's even tastefully indirectly lit? You can tell that Facebook money went into it, lmao. The pools themselves are great too. Warm, level with the pool deck, clean, clear, just really pleasant to swim in. Some flower or another around the pool area smells like honey and it's a little unreal. The deck is new and clean, with lots of seating and shade umbrellas. A lot of the parking is shaded with solar panels. The community center has great vibes too, and a weight room I haven't tried out but it looks nice and never too busy. But like, don't go here, okay? I'm letting you see my hidden gem but don't touch it. However. If you do, please, for the love of God, don't miss the urinal. If you mess this up for the rest of us I WILL find you.
