Pros: Service Cons: Everything Else including food quality. Literally, this place is THE worst Japanese restaurant I have ever been in my entire life. If I can put down half star I would. BEWARE! After eating a nominal dish and totally mediocre at best, of Tempura Udon soup on Thursday Feb. 10th, 2011 I became violently ill approximately 5 or 6 hours later and my wife had horrible stomach cramping and severe diarrhea, you guessed it food poisoning! The management and staff were very courteous and have always been attentive, but seemed to want to shuffle me out of there when I went for my refund today, maybe afraid I would make a fuss in front of patrons. I've been a customer of Ocean Fish for about two years, and I LOVE this place. They have a full Japanese menu (not just sushi), and so far everything I've had has been very good. The sushi from this restaurant never disappoints. The waitstaff is courteous and attentive. The only "demerit" is for the fact that the restaurant itself is tiny and gets crowded at peak times. My family and I went for a quick lunch on a weekend, the waiting was short, and service was fast, although I got say, that they can improve a little on cleaning the table well, before they sit another party. Unfortunately I really don't see what all the buzz is about this place. We came here for a weekend lunch and ordered chicken teriyaki and a bunch of sushi. The sushi rolls were huge, but the fish was completely tasteless. All we really could taste was the rice and spicy sauce or mayo in the rolls. The chicken teriyaki was ok. Small pieces of chicken that were a bit overcooked, but I would much rather have it dried out than undercooked. On the plus side, the price is pretty good for the amount that you get. Sadly, this place would be a repeat return for us if there weren't so many other options in the bay area for sushi but alas we like quality over quantity when it comes to sushi and I think we are going to go back to our normal haunt in San Bruno. read more

I was at my dad's store in Manor over the weekend and needed some food badly. Me and my two siblings decided to try this new sushi place for takeout. Upon entering the restaurant, it definitely looks way cleaner from its Raymond days. We ordered a total of four rolls: Super Dynamite, Volcano, Philly, and Rock'n Roll. Since the bill came out to over $35, they have this thing where they throw in a free California roll. SWEET. not to mention, since they just opened, theyre giving a 10%discount. ALSO SWEET. Ok so why have we been driving by this place without a thought to stop in. Outside looks like it may be a diner dive but turned out being quite cozy and nice. The sushi, sashimi tuna, all fresh and yummy. Only thing holding me back from giving it a 5 star is that the service was slow and incomplete. Ocean Fish Sushi & Grill is alright. It's not really sushi sushi - as in, the majority of the rolls are deep fried and smothered in some sauce or another. They're not inherently "bad," but just not what I prefer when it comes to my sushi. We could have gotten sashimi I suppose, but our dining companion wasn't a huge fan of raw fish, so we skipped over it. They have good deals for sake / beer / etc, which I guess is one of the draws of coming here, but I don't think I'll ever be craving "sushi" from here. This is our go-to place for sushi pick-up and delivery. Great prices and huge pieces of fish. We ordered online during the Giants postseason twice, and even though they were super busy, they made our dinners perfectly. They even fulfilled our special requests (yay salmon sashimi!) and let us use a coupon with ease. My favorite is the deluxe sushi set. Had lunch here on a Thursday with my son after volunteering in his kindergarten class. The sashimi portions were huge and super fresh! My son ate all the salmon and even enjoyed the edamame. We love this place! Even though it's small they do offer delivery for people who don't like to be in a crowd. Our favorites are the green ball(Spicy tuny covered with avocado) and the Mango Tango roll (crab and mango wrapped in cucumber sitting in a pool of mango sauce.) It's a great ending to your meal. I would describe this place as "fast food sushi". It's always really busy in here and it's the perfect place to go for cheap rolls and quick service. The food it pretty good but because it's always busy and also kinda small inside, it feels very squished and isn't really an ideal place for large groups or just lounging after with your tea. We LOVED this place when it first opened!!!!! Fresh, flavorful, amazing for the price. After a few years now it has slowly declined:( I really hate that I have to say that for we use Oceanfish as our go to place when we really want fresh, fast, flavorful, and affordable Japanese food. The past three times we have dined the sunimono wasn't fresh, the sushi rice dry with no flavor, the seaweed rubbery, oil from the tempura tasted overused and old, and sushi smothered with sauce??? Oh Oceanfish....what happened:( we can tell there are corners that are being cut probably because of the price and convenience...but we miss the way attention was paid to the food.
