COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are no hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food in this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently do have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: They only have valet parking here. Valet parking is $15 not including tip. Apparently during peak business hours or during the holidays, they will jack up the prices for valet parking. You have been warned! The best part about solo dining is eating whatever the hell I want without any judgement or pushbacks from other people. And I could eat at my own pace and people watch. Food and Drinks: At the bar, I ordered their famous berries and bubbles cocktail. It is famously crafted with a mix of citrus-infused vodka, fresh lemon juice, marinated blackberries, and a splash of brut, topped with dry ice to create a billowing, theatrical smoke effect. This drink was incredibly fruity and refreshing. The perfect alcoholic beverage for the summer. When I finally got my own table, I ordered their famous jumbo lump crab cake, lobster bisque, and caviar as my three appetizers. The jumbo lump crab cake is a signature appetizer here at Ocean Prime. I like their generous portion of premium crab meat and its elegant presentation. It is served alongside a sweet and sour slaw and a zesty horseradish mustard aioli. The crab cake was very tender and sweet. It balances the richness of the crab with the bright, slightly spicy kick of the aioli. It was baked to perfection. The lobster bisque was so yummy and creamy. It is a rich, velvety soup made with tender lobster meat and a flavorful broth. I like that they have generous, tender pieces of butter-poached Maine lobster in the soup. Ah yes. The Sturgeon caviar. Yes, I am a fancy and extra woman, and I have extremely expensive taste in food. I love me some artisanal caviar. Yum! Anyways, this wasn't on their menu, and I had to special request this. Caviar served on mini pancakes?!?! Say less! I loved how fluffy and soft the mini pancakes were. The caviar had a luxurious, buttery texture. It also had a subtle briny flavor. I found that the caviar bursts on the palate rather than tasting overly fishy. Honestly, putting the caviar on top of the sweet mini pancakes was brilliant because the mini pancakes acted as a neutral canvas so the distinct briny taste of the caviar could shine through. Moreover, I ordered the lobster linguine and sea scallops. The lobster linguine is a popular seafood entrée featuring fresh al dente cooked linguine tossed with succulent lobster meat, roasted tomato butter, arugula, chili flakes, and freshly grated parmesan. Btw, I hate arugula, so I asked the staff to remove it from this dish. Flavor wise, this dish had a delicate balance of rich roasted tomato butter and a kick of spice from chili flakes. I'm a sucker for all things pasta, so this dish hit the spot and satisfied my pasta craving. The sea scallops were fire!!! The jumbo sea scallops were perfectly seared to a golden brown, moist, and tender. The sea scallops were severed on a bed of lobster risotto. The lobster risotto was very rich and creamy. They used a rich Arborio rice cooked with chunks of melt in your mouth lobster, roasted tomatoes, and a savory shellfish. This dish won my heart. And finally, for desserts, I ordered their famous 10 layer carrot cake and creme brûlée. Now, normally, I hate carrot cakes, but since this was highly recommended, I decided to give this a shot. Needless to say, I still hate carrot cake, but I could appreciate this restaurant's take on this dessert. The cake itself was very moist and tasted spicy due to the cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. This dessert is layered with lots of cheese icing and pineapple syrup. I found the cream cheese icing and whipped cream to be extremely delectable, but that's about it. The creme brûlée is a classic and indulgent dessert featuring a rich, velvety vanilla custard, a perfectly crisp caramelized sugar crust, and fresh seasonal berries. I'm a bit of a Mastros loyalist. I have visited several different restaurants and they are all pretty reliable for great service. Food was good as usual and servers were super courteous. Only thing I would say is mid is that the bar room has large windows that open up to the sidewalk. Came here on a holiday and the place was packed which says a lot since this is a very big space. There's a lovely outdoor terrace, two bar areas, and a more formal dining room. We got the blackberry club cocktail. It has zero proof gin, muddle blackberries, lime, and simple syrup. It is alcohol free, delicious, and absolutely gorgeous. All their cocktails look impressive actually. For our meal we got the Teriyaki salmon which is our go-to. It has shiitake sticky rice and a soy butter sauce. It's always delicious! We also got the chilean sea bass which comes on a potato puree with a truffle vinaigrette, pearl onions and broccolini. It was good. Of the two, the salmon is still my favorite. Had an intimate birthday dinner here with a friend for myself.. The ambiance is very business casual, not to be confused with trendy. Our steak was sub par, our sushi roll was falling apart, our coffee was served cold. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks. I asked to have my coffee remade and after a nearly $400+ bill the server disappeared. Truly unfortunate! I love Ocean Prime and their other locations are amazing! However, this particular location was horrible. I was pretty embarrassed for suggesting Ocean Prime when I've had such a great experience at other locations. It's a hard pass! As usual, the NY strip and house salad and bread is to die for. Tried the chocolate peanut butter pie and it is incredible. We came for a birthday dinner not knowing they had some Dine LA specials for $65 (the only steak option was a filet for $80). The ribeye steak was pretty decent - a little bit undercooked for a medium rare, but still overall pretty decent. The jalapeño gratin was good. The deviled eggs were delicious, although there isn't enough caviar to taste it (expected given the price). The calamari was very sweet. The house salad was plain. The Gouda tots were undercooked. The truffle Mac and cheese had an excellent flavor but the sauce was a bit gritty, not smooth. The warm butter cake was insanely dry and flavorless. Definitely pass on that. The carrot cake was better, but still dense and dry. I'll preface the rest of this review by saying I'm not really one to send food back or really even say anything about the food if it's palatable. I'll typically just eat the food and not come back. The sea bass on the Dine LA menu was absolutely horrendous and underseasoned. It genuinely didn't even taste like it was salted. I ended up asking for a bearnaise sauce to make it edible. It still wasn't great. We felt our server give us some attitude at the beginning of the meal, but it did get better later on. She gave us a daily special, which included wagyu, and I asked her if it was American wagyu, Australian wagyu, or Japanese wagyu, and she didn't know... strange to not tell your servers at a steakhouse which one it is. Ocean Prime is one of those places that never misses. I've been coming here for years and it's still one of my go-to's for a special night out. They also recently opened a Las Vegas location on the Strip..I've been to both, and honestly... fantastic every single time. Vibe/Service: Always on point. The service is consistently great, the location is perfect, and the whole place has a polished but fun energy. There's indoor + outdoor seating, and it's a great spot whether you're celebrating, on a date, or bringing friends from out of town. Parking: You can do street parking if you get lucky, but valet is the easiest. Private Dining: We've used their private dining before too and it was an amazing experience..super smooth and elevated, perfect for a group. Drinks: Full bar and their cocktails are incredible. Also..their espresso martini is one of the best I've had. Perfectly balanced and not too sweet. As you can probably tell from my photos... Celebrated our anniversary at Ocean Prime & it was definitely one for the books! The service is so attentive, and I really liked how lively it can get inside the dining area. It provides both an elevated fine dining experience & relaxing vibe. We started with drinks - espresso martini (black) and pineapple picante. Never knew that you could order a black espresso martini lol! I'm a changed woman for life now. It was sweet, and not bitter for me at all. The pineapple picante definitely packed a bit of spice, was also very yummy. For food, we had the parmesan truffle fries, bread basket, dynamite roll, sea scallops and NY strip. The dynamite roll was a nice contrast from the rest of the meal, really great quality shrimp. The fries were stupidly good, could not stop munching on them. We ordered the bread a little later into the service, which I wish we would have done sooner so that it could accompany most of the meal. It did take a while for it to come out. The entrees were my favorite. I always try to order a plate that I cannot cook myself, and this one knocked it out of the park. The scallops were all perfectly seared, and the little salad on top made each bite so well balanced. The steak is crusted I believe in a sort of peppercorn rub, and the inside was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I'd love to return someday soon, its hard to find a restaurant where absolutely everything ordered is tasty - and this one delivered exactly that. I've really enjoyed Ocean Prime every time I've been! I am a big fan of steakhouses and in LA, the best are in Beverly Hills. Ocean Prime is no exception. The restaurant has a great ambience: wooden decor, mood lighting, and a cool entryway with a winding pathway into the restaurant. The waiters are very attentive and super friendly. They don't make you feel rushed and they seem knowledgeable about the menu items. I got their 8 oz filet - classic. The meat tasted high quality and I appreciated that the steak came out nice and hot. I've also tried their Teriyaki Salmon Entree with Shiitake sticky rice and a soy butter sauce. That soy butter sauce is truly amazing; it's the perfect combo of salty, sweet, and umami flavors. The salmon itself is perfectly cooked on the inside and crispy seared on the outside. The shiitake mushrooms also give it a nice depth of flavor. I feel they should also be celebrated for their desserts. Their chocolate peanut butter cake is just so decadent, with a thick layer of peanut butter mouse, coated in a dark chocolate ganache. But it was their 10-Layer carrot cake that really impressed me. The cake is so moist, not too sweet, and layered with the creamiest cream cheese icing. As if this wasn't enough already, it gets topped with a sweet, zingy pineapple sauce that really complements the cake well. This is a beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere offering an array of seafood dishes. I ordered the Chilean Seabass with Brussel sprouts and the filet mignon with a lobster tail. The seabass was cooked and seasoned perfectly and had great flavor. The portion size was more than generous and was priced accordingly. The interior of the fillet was cooked as ordered, however, the outside was slightly over charred but it did have flavor. I did find the lobster tail a bit salty, which, did impact its overall flavor. The staff was great and appeared to work in unison as one team throughout the evening. My server was personable and very attentive during my dining experience, which was very much appreciated. We had multiple appetizers and I think everyone enjoyed the calamari and the crab cake. I personally loved the bread basket and could eat that fluffy warm goodness everyday. Everything we ate was delicious. I also had a Caesar salad which had nice Parmesan crisps added in, the filet which cut so beautifully and was cooked to perfection. Brady. He played a big part to this perfect experience. There was one reason we came through: DineLA. And I'll be honest: this place wasn't our only choice. There were a lot of other spots we could have gone to within a mile radius, but Hubbers mentioned it more than once and that did us in. Walked in. No reservations. No problem. We were seated immediately. Still water poured in our glasses just as fast while we skimmed through the menu. And then Brady, that superstar came around, and guessed correctly why we were there. (Yay, DineLA!) It must be popular because I noticed a few tables doing the same. We added oysters and wine for the Hubs. FRESH SHUCKED OYSTERS: we had two choices - west or east coast. When we couldn't make up our minds, Brady suggested he'd do half and half. (Brilliant!) It is what it is: fresh! There's that familiar ocean/metallic taste with good chew. The major difference between the two is that one is slightly bigger than the other with a subtle difference in taste. But both good. FRENCH ONION SOUP: I've had my share, and this is one of the better ones I've had! They used aged Swiss instead of Gruyère and that's probably why it stood out. Served hot, there was a lot of love made with this soup, and it showed with the depth in flavors in the broth. I was kinda sad when it was gone! 6OZ FILET: I originally wanted it medium, but when Hubbers ordered his medium rare, I changed my mind. I guess Brady saw the hesitance in my face (I had that "unsure" look, I suppose) so he suggested, "how about medium rare plus?" That's a thing?!? (Apparently.) So I gave a big resounding YES (mostly because I've never had it that way!) And it came out perfect! Not too rare, but rare enough! Seasoning?! Perfect. Potato cake and spinach were amazing palate cleansers. The jus was a nice touch - added flavor without taking anything away from each bite. FRESH BAKED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES: Okay, we didn't get to eat it. I mentioned to Brady it was me and Hubbers' wedding anniversary, so he said dessert on them. I protested at first because we still had these cookies coming and we'd be too full already. (Beside the fact it was too generous, I didn't wanna waste it.) So he said he'll pack the cookies up to take home and that he'd bring the dessert anyway. (Awwww!) He even gave us the dessert menu, "Anything you want." We opted for the ten layered carrot cake. He mentioned it is one of their popular desserts, and at first bite, we understood. We did get full, and it was the best way to end our meal. (We had the cookies at home, DELISH!!!) SIDE NOTE: Mom had the lobster bisque and teriyaki salmon. She cleaned her plate up - just like me and Hubbers. We really enjoyed our food! FOOD: 5. Still stoked about learning I can get a steak prepped "medium rare plus"! SERVICE: 5. Brady made us feel welcome, comfortable and he was clearly happy at what he does. Goooo, Brady! VALUE: 5. Thank you, DineLA! PARKING: Valet for $20. There's also metered street parking, but the ultimate score is walking a few blocks and be on the lookout for 2hr free parking structures. OVERALL: 5. It's a beautifully laid out eatery. It's a less-is-more kinda place: no fancy decor, simple but elegant, even the lighting was perfect. A great first-date or romantic lunch/dinner spot. Oh! And across the way, they have a bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. But, Brady! He was THE reason, the very center of why the experience was beyond stellar. He really is a champion at his job. Visited Ocean Prime this weekend for my birthday. Overall, the service was great and the food was good compared to other steakhouses. I'd say the portion sizes are a bit smaller than similar steakhouses like Mastro's, Eddie V's, or Fleming's but the steak was cooked perfectly to temperature, well-seasoned, and the sides were very flavorful. The one downside was the drinks. Honestly, they tasted more like mocktails. My husband asked the bartender, who confirmed the cocktails are made with a modest 1 oz pour. Came here last night. The seabass was overcooked. I tried a piece of my friends filet mignon. It was just ok. I wasn't impressed. Waiter never came over to see how the food was. They are supposed to check in. I've prepared better Chilean seabass and steak at home. After eating, on the way home, I had an upset stomach, like a knot moving around in my stomach. Something went in, that shouldn't have been there. Once I arrived home, I was instantly on the toilet several times last night. It had to be the seabass. One of my FAVORITE restaurants in LA! Ocean Prime is ALWAYS amazing and consistent in every way. The service is outstanding, the ambiance is fantastic, and the food is always delicious, inventive, and fresh. This is our go to spot for special occasions or even a nice date night. They have a fantastic happy hour in the bar area with deals on their signature cocktails, beer, and wine, and great food specials on their sushi and bar menu. Anytime someone suggests meeting in Beverly Hills, I suggest Ocean Prime! Our favorite servers are Athena, Christina, and Eric. We had another gentleman we always loved in the bar area, but we haven't seen him the last few trips so he may have moved. Every server we've ever had here really takes the time to get to know you. They make you feel welcome and never rushed. I'm a huge fan of tuna tartare, and Ocean Prime's tuna tartare is the BEST one in the city. The tuna is fresh, the ginger adds complexity, and the soy/ponzu sauce they use is just beyond amazing. I love this dish so much I order it as an entree some times! If you're into potatoes, the jalapeño potatoes au gratin are not to be missed! This is comfort food at its best; don't let the jalapeños discourage you! They are not too spicy when balanced with all of the cheese! My husband loves the filet here, and we always share one of the sushi rolls or the spicy tuna crispy rice. My favorite entree was the Dover sole in lemon beurre blanc (essentially Dover sole piccata) which is now off the menu, but Christina told me that all we have to do is call ahead in the future and the chef will make it for us if he can! It's a light and heavenly dish of lemon, butter, and capers, and so hearty I always have leftovers. I hope they put this one back on the menu! Whether you're sitting in the main dining room or in the bar area, the vibe is lively but never too loud, no matter what night you come. You can always hear your own conversation without feeling like you're dining with the people next to you. Valet is $20, but, if you don't mind the walk (which is always welcome after the huge portions here, including the delectable butter cake!), there's a lot that's free for 1 hour just one block north on Camden - 440 N Camden. We had a wonderful time at Ocean Prime. We made reservations and they seated us right away when we checked in. The restaurant was not too loud which I appreciated, and had classy decor. We opted to start with the reposado paper plane and the tequila cocktails. The tequila cocktail tasted like an elevated margarita and the paper plane tasted very fruit forward. For appetizers, we tried the west coast oysters and ocean roll. The ocean roll had chili oil which was unique and contributed to a flavor profile that I have not tried before, but very much enjoyed. The oysters were meaty and fresh. For mains, we tried the New York strip with au poivre, and the filet mignon. Both were high quality and had a darker more seasoned bark than typical. For sides we had the jalapeño au gratin, which was nice and cheesy and not too spicy. We also had the mushrooms. I prefer dry seasoned as opposed to any wet sauce on mushrooms due to my texture preference, so they put the sauce on the side so I could dip if I wanted to. The jalapeño au gratin was a great side and I would get it again, I would probably skip the mushrooms and try something else next time. My favorite part of the dinner was the desert, out came the most delicious peanut butter mousse with a dark chocolate tasting cookie at the base with the whole thing covered in chocolate ganache. This place is a gem! I got the chance to dine here for lunch on a weekday and it was amazing. Parking: Valet - $15-$20 Service: We were greeted properly, with politeness. The place was pretty much empty on a Tuesday afternoon. I got to sit inside where you can see the kitchen in action. The server was amazing, made sure we were taken care of, and all our questions answered. The food - AMAZING I tried the lunch pre-fixe menu $39 with appetizer/starter and an entree. I chose the lobster bisque soup and 6oz filet mignon for an additional $5. and an order of their calamari. Everything that arrived on the table was 10/10. Calamari - perfectly cooked, with sauce (oriental style / sesame?) 9/10 Lobster Bisque Soup - SOOO GOOD. great flavor and generous amount of lobster chunks. 6oz Filet Mignon with spinach and potato hash - this is one for the books. I thought it won't be enough since it's only 6oz but oh boy I got so full. The steak was cooked perfectly (Medium Rare) nice char, and great meat flavor. I've always wanted to check out this place and I'm glad I did. Had a wonderful time. A pretty good selection of dishes and cocktails, but I wish it had a greater selection of raw seafood, since the name of the restaurant is Ocean Prime, after all. I would've loved to see some raw scallops on the menu. What didn't really make sense to me was the inclusion of sushi. If I want sushi, I'd go to a sushi restaurant. We had the oysters and shrimp cocktail, and the presentation of the shrimp cocktail was cool because it had dry ice with it creating an effect of smoke. We had the lobster tail and I did like the fact they had the drawn butter served over a candle to keep it warm. But I did find the lobster a bit too salty and over-seasoned with herbs. "Less is more". We dined in the patio and the place had good music and ambiance. Service was very friendly and they serve the cocktails table-side, although I think martinis should be stirred and not shaken, contrary to James Bond. Public parking is reasonable if you go to the city owned lots, it's a flat fee of $5 in the evening. Check the city's website for parking lots. My birthday dinner at Ocean Prime was just okay, which is disappointing considering how beautiful the restaurant is and how much potential the evening had. What really upset me was finding out they accept 9 p.m. reservations even though they close at 9. I assumed, like most fine dining places, that the kitchen would stay open for guests seated at that time so we could actually enjoy the meal. Instead, we arrived to find the restaurant nearly empty, with staff already cleaning. From the start, it felt rushed. The best part was our waitress, who was incredibly sweet, friendly, and thoughtful. She even gave me a hug when we were leaving, which meant a lot. Her service alone deserves five stars. The restaurant itself is stunning with a great atmosphere, but the food didn't live up to the setting. We ordered the steak and lobster prix fixe meal. The lobster was served plain with no garlic butter, lemon, or seasoning, which made it underwhelming. The steak was the biggest disappointment. It came pre-cut, which left it dry and lukewarm by the time it reached us. There was a dark glaze served as a dipping sauce, but it didn't pair well with either dish. A simple garlic butter would have complemented both much better. What shocked me most was being charged for my own birthday dessert. I've celebrated birthdays at restaurants every year for 33 years and have never once had to pay for a dessert, not even at casual places. To experience that at one of the most expensive restaurants I've ever been to felt especially off. The dessert was well over twenty dollars, which felt unnecessary after spending more than two hundred on dinner. We were the last table left, but we weren't dawdling. I even asked for my dessert to be packed to go so we could leave quickly. Our waitress kindly insisted on bringing it with a candle so I could at least have that moment, and I appreciated her effort. Still, with staff cleaning all around us and a manager standing nearby, it was hard to feel comfortable. Even though we finished within an hour, it felt like we were keeping everyone from closing up. The space is undeniably beautiful, and the service from our waitress was exceptional, but everything else felt rushed, overly corporate, and surprisingly unwelcoming for such a high end restaurant. It didn't feel like a birthday celebration, just a dinner that ended too quickly. I had a great experience at Ocean Prime. We were fortunate enough to be able to taste several items on the menu. We started with a seafood tower and we had two different types of oysters. They were both delicious. The lobster and crab legs were also very tender and satisfying. The other appetizers included calamari which had a nice sweetness to the crispy outside. The truffle deviled eggs were rich and delicious. My main entree was a 10 oz filet mignon and a lobster tail. I did ask for my steak to be cooked medium well but it was more on the well done side, but it was still very tasty and tender; it was not dry. For dessert, I highly recommend the chocolate peanut butter dessert. It has a chocolate ganache shell and creamy peanut butter inside. The servers were all very attentive and nice. Ocean Prime Seafood and steak spot in Beverly Hills with relaxed outdoor patio. Came here with my family and boyfriend for an early Sunday dinner, and made a reservation online in advance. It was a holiday so they didn't have their usual Sunday deal, so we split the calamari, Ocean Prime house salad, fries, and jalapeño au gratin. My boyfriend and I split the ribeye for our entree. They gave us complimentary bread (sourdough and pretzel) and those came out fresh from the oven. The butter cake with ice cream that we split at the end was the cherry on top. I particularly liked the calamari (though the portion was on the smaller side). The jalapeño au gratin was not spicy at all - there was just one jalapeño in the entire dish. We asked for the steak to be medium rare but it was a tad overcooked; I preferred the scallops that my sister ordered more.
