I was meeting my fellow OCA Quintin for lunch yesterday and got there very early! With an hour to spare, I headed up to Terra at Eataly as I heard good things. You have to take the stairs or elevator up to the rooftop, then are met with a beautiful dining space with an equally aesthetically pleasing bar on the far end. I was warmly greeted by the host & hostess and directed where I could belly up for a beer. The bartender was so friendly and on top of everything for everyone. I heard him remembering past guests who hadn't been there in ages and were shocked he still remembered him. He also knew it was my first time there. I wish they had more than three beers available, but I understand it's more Italian wine vibes. I had a Dogfish 60 minute as it's their craft beer option on menu, and the server did a great job of telling me it's for sale at Eataly, too! We love a sneaky, smart upsell. Came here for lunch, it was Foodie Week at the century city mall! My friend had made a reservation. It took me a while to find the place as I wasn't familiar with Eataly. But once I found the place, I discovered that it was really nice - on the roof with a great view! I ordered off the Foodie Week menu - got the gem salad and my friend got the asparagus. The salad was huge but yummy! I also got the Cavatelli al Ragù di terra which was YUMMO! My friend got the salmon which they charged an extra $15 for! Overall great place. Westfield Century City's Dining Terrace is a solid, upscale food court with killer outdoor seating, making it the perfect spot to grab a bite and decompress after a meeting. Honestly, this is probably one of the best food court setups around. It's got a great mix of your quick-fix staples like Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, and Panda Express, but it also has Eataly if you want to elevate things a bit. The outdoor terrace area is beautiful, ton of tables and seating, and on a nice sunny day, it's the perfect spot to sit outside and catch some rays. I swung by after a meeting in Century City, grabbed a sandwich and a latte from Eataly, and just chilled for a bit. Bonus points for the parking situation: the first hour is free, which is pretty rare for this area and gives you just enough time to grab a quick lunch without paying a premium. I loved my meal! We got a platter to share with steak, meatballs, and wrapped in mortadella, spicy sausage, grilled peppers and potatoes and all the protein was delicious! I was impressed with the meatballs wrapped with mortadella because it had the most perfect flavor. I just gave it three stars because the service was a bit slow. There was a lot of influencers there so I felt like they gave more attention to them. The food came out very fast, but I noticed there was a very large table full of influencers when we ordered dessert. A scoop of ice cream and a dessert took 40 minutes. We got the dessert for free because it took so long, but unfortunately, they lost one star because of that. The ambience was beautiful!! Awesome place located at the top level of Eataly in Century City. The view on the very large patio is stunning with the mountains in the distance above the city line. The service was excellent with the waiters being very knowledgeable and accommodating. The food was exceptional with the calamari and peppers being a stand out. I dined here yesterday for dinner... yes my first time! I am late to the party. I have always heard great things about Terra. I made reservations for 5:15 on a weekday. Moderate crowd, but a lot of open seating indoors. This rooftop restaurant has beautiful decor, lots of plants and a nice ambiance, you will definitely want to sit outdoors. Yes, they have heaters in case it's a cold day. Justin was our server and he was very pleasant and very attentive. He was great and made our dining experience wonderful. Thank you Justin! The entire staff was really nice. Justin recommended some great drinks and dishes. If you want to try a refreshing and tasty alcohol beverage, I highly recommend the Mayan Bliss, yum! For food, we ordered beef skewers (yummy Smokey flavor), beet salad, calamari (grilled to perfection) and cabbage (a must have! The sauce is so good on the cabbage). Since it's located inside Westfield Century City, there's plenty of parking in the structure. For the closest parking to Eataly, use the entrance off of Avenue of the stars, go up the ramp and follow the signs. I parked right outside. We had an amazing lunch with excellent service from Axel. We took advantage of the $35 lunch special & what a deal! Full size salads & entrees. Started with focaccia bread. Our server was friendly and gave great recommendations based on some of the preferences we had. The g&t no. 2 was refreshing with elderflower tonic and juniper berries. Delightful leisurely girl dinner after a few hours of shopping and much needed catch up! We ordered an array of dishes to share and enjoyed on the outside patio. If I could give 4.5, I would - but a few dishes did miss the mark. The crudo dish was bland and doused in too much olive oil. My same complaint for the salad too - I don't taste any pesto or flavors other than olive oil and was surprised I didn't get a pimple from it bc it was a lot of oil on me lips! The pasta was out of this world; loved the lemon ricotta and would have licked the plate haha The skewers were good but wasn't necessary if you order a steak. We craved from an Italian Pizza today and went over a list of pizzas that could satisfy our palate after spending a week in New York. So, we decided to choose the foods and cuisine at the Westfield Century City Mall near Beverly Hills. We walked and visited their Food Area and stall by stall looked and tasted some of their samples. However, we decided to go to Eataly and chose to have two braces of their pizza and Mole Cole'! Eataly at Century City really never fails, their Pizza Margherita is the only crowned winner of Napolitana Pizza aside from perhaps a similar taste from Cipriani of Beverly Hills. We again enjoyed their store and bought several of the wine collection, and other Italian salads and snacks. This store has a collection of anything Italy and by the name itself, ylsropling by this place will certainly take you back to Napoli, Firenze or San Geminiano! Parking is abundant except that you have to shell out some money for parking here. We had a very disappointing experience at Terra. The biggest issue was the quality of the grilled meats. We ordered all three steak options on the menu, as well as the mixed grill platter, and every single item was noticeably over-charred. The exterior was burnt to the point that it tasted bitter and overwhelmed the flavor of the meat itself. In addition, the steak temperatures were poorly executed. We ordered our steaks medium, but they arrived much closer to medium-well, with significantly less juiciness than expected. The ribeye was especially disappointing. The cut was unusually thin, lacked the marbling and richness typically associated with a ribeye, and did not reflect the quality we would expect at this price point. The service was equally disappointing. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on our table to ask how the food was or whether we needed anything. Our water glasses were left empty for long periods and were never proactively refilled. Food service was also quite slow. What made the experience even more frustrating was that our party of seven was automatically charged a 20% gratuity. Despite this mandatory service charge, we received virtually no service. When it came time to pay, it took an unusually long time to receive the check and complete the payment process. We were in a hurry, yet the staff showed little sense of urgency and seemed indifferent to our situation. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated issue affecting a single dish--the same problems appeared across every grilled item we ordered, suggesting broader issues with both kitchen execution and overall service standards. Given Terra's reputation and pricing, we expected a much higher level of food quality and hospitality. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty massive since this restaurant is located in an upscale shopping mall. Beware! Parking in this parking structure can be very expensive. Terra does not validate parking. For Terra, don't park near the AMC. It's on the opposite side of the AMC, and it's on the third floor. The restaurant itself is located in Eatly, which is right next to Macy's. So, park near Macy's if you want to be closer to Terra. The staircase / entrance to Terra is dimly lit by candles. I have had both white and black truffles many times, but most importantly, I had them in Italy, where truffles are grown. Anyways, my friend and I ordered the Terra Tasting Menu, which was $65 per person. First, we had the Burrata e Funghi. It was served with soft, rich, and creamy burrata along with tasty and earthy oyster mushrooms over a warm and tangy sourdough bread. It was a delightful dish. Next, we had the Prosciutto e Mozzarella. The prosciutto had a perfect balance of sweet and salty simultaneously. It was very flavorful. It had a great aftertaste and smelled delectable. It was cut perfectly. Not too thin nor too thick. The marinated olives brought a nice subtle tangy flavor to the dish. The mozzarella was delicate, creamy, and milky. It had a mild tang and saltiness to it, which paired well with the prosciutto and warm and grilled sourdough bread. Excellent dish. Moving on, we tried the Little Gem. This dish consisted of coal roasted beets, orange, and Sicilian pistachio pesto. Wow! This dish blew my mind unexpectedly. Like the perfect combo of sweet, sour, and salty. You can really taste the saltiness, nuttiness, and earthiness that this dish brings to the table thanks to the Sicilian pistachio pesto. The beets and the orange brought a nice sweet and sour combo to the salad. Highly recommend this salad. In addition, we had the Bistecca. This was a prime double R ranch Coulotte steak served with jalapeño, rosemary, and Parmesan. This steak was so juicy, tender, smoky, savory, and flavorful. This steak was cooked over a wood burning Italian grill, so the steak definitely had a subtle taste of smokiness. It also had a hint of hickory. The addition of rosemary, Parmesan, and jalapeño gave it a burst of flavors. What an incredibly mouthwatering dish! I would highly recommend this dish too. Moreover, we had the Patate Fritte. This dish consisted of tiny cut up russet potatoes with Parmesan and rosemary. Simple, yet tasty dish. Perfectly salted. Extremely crispy. Next, we had the Pappardelle Cacio e Pepe e Finferli. This dish came with house made spinach pappardelle, cacio e Pepe sauce, chanterelle, and lemon thyme. This dish was not my favorite one of the night because it was slightly too salty for my taste. However, it was still very good. This dish was creamy, peppery, and slightly spicy thanks to the cacio e Pepe sauce. It was slightly tangy / sour thanks to the lemon thyme. This dish is very reminiscent of carbonara. The chanterelle mushrooms tasted fruity, nutty, and peppery. The mushrooms were cooked to be nice and soft. The house made spinach pappardelle was cooked to perfection. Not too hard, yet not too soft. Lastly, we had the Tagliolini al Tartufo with white truffles. Moment of truth, people. Did this dish meet my expectations? You betcha! We paid $55 more for the addition of white truffles to this meal. Was it worth it? Heck yeah! That first bite brought back memories of Italy. The house made pasta was cooked softer than I had anticipated, but still delicious nevertheless. This dish was so incredibly creamy, smooth, and velvety. With the addition of the white truffles, you can taste the earthy, garlicy, peppery, and nutty flavors in the dish. So much umami aroma. What an unforgettable and incredible dish. 100% would recommend this dish. Just like Italy, they charge for water unless you ask for tap. Anyways, we ordered a Panna Still Water for $8. Next, we also ordered a bottle of Cabernet Blend Bolgheri Poggio Ginepri for $84. Pricey, yes. Delicious, most definitely! The wine smelled earthy and sweet. The wine had a light peppery taste to it. I could also almost taste the hint of rich cherries, plums, and figs. It also had a nice and smooth finish to it. This wine was paired perfectly with our meal. Such an amazing experience that my friends and I had for the Dine LA menu. There were 3 of us and we got so much food we couldn't even finish it. It was such a good deal with great variety. Location wise, we had outdoor rooftop seating. It was a bit cold on a Tuesday 6:30pm evening but they have heat lamps that made up for it. We made a ressie and were seated immediately. Right off the bat, the bread was great. Love how toasted and fresh it was with the delicious salt and butter. The dine LA menu came w/ 3 appetizers, a mushroom burrata dish, a cheese and prosciutto dish, and a grilled mushroom dish, all with bread, and all delicious. They came with a few large entrees to share as well, and I was surprised at the sheer size of the plates.
