We had dinner here on Monday, May 19th. We were seated promptly for our 6:15 reservation. The wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable . We had the lobster bisque and it was the best we've ever had. My husband had the salmon and I had the scallops both were perfectly prepared and delicious. The manager stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. We had the chocolate peanut butter pie for dessert and it was amazing! Though pricey it was worth every penny. The creamed spinach was wonderfully spinach-forward and not over creamy and the jalapeño scalloped potatoes should not be passed up. First time here! We actually just moved here from California. I realize they have one in Southern California but we are from central California and have never been here before. Our waiter, Eddie, was absolutely outstanding! The food was good. I had steak tartare, and the lobster bisque. The Blu Longe was very inviting, classy, low music playing, even had some TVs playing the football game that was on. Once seated the waitress's assistant came to our table right ago to offer drinks/water & brought us some popcorn. (Btw it's not your typical butter popcorn, it has a very different distinctive taste.. very good) I tried the berry frozen ice drink everyone in the reviews has been raving about. Very delicious. We had a great time here! Nick was our waiter and was very attentive. Brought our little man a kiddie cup without asking. We ordered from the lounge menu, sushi, grill oysters and west coast oyster . We also ordered a kid's crab cake with mash potatoes and apple sauce. The mash potatoes was very salty. We asked Nick if we could get one without salt, he went to the kitchen to check. He came back and notified us that the potatoes batch is pre made, but chef offered to swap for a baked potato. We did receive the baked potato and mixed the two for some flavor for the little guy. When we arrived with reservations they tried to seat us at a table with 5 instead of 6. I asked if we could have a different spot but it seems like we would be squished. She was hesitant to do this. And continued to try to get us to sit there. Finally they switched our spot. I am not sure how they can say it's a crab cake as it's cold, lump crab meat served like a cocktail. That being said, it was darn good crab meat. Fresh and delicious. Being someone who grew up in Maryland, it's legit crab. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The lobster was ok. I asked for clarified butter and it tasted off. The lobster was butter poached and had some butter flavor but I love it drenched. The grouper was great. I love getting local fish whenever possible and it was very meaty, cooked perfectly, and the sauce with lobster was delicious! Overall, great ambience, great service, and good food. The scallops were great but everything else fell short of that. For a a part of two, I spent about $350-$400, which the money isn't the issue, I don't think the food lived up to 350-400 worth. This place is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Restaurant Row in the Dr. Phillips area. I have been here many times and have even celebrated special occasions here. They even have private rooms for just your party which I love. The food here is absolutely exquisite. The lobster Bisque here is a must try. Served right at your table. My favorite appetizer is the Goat Cheese Ravioli. The Blackened Snapper was absolutely delicious cannot wait to go back and try it again. My friends got the bone in filet and they loved it as well. This time around I had made reservations thru open table a week in advance because they changed their hours to 5pm to 9pm only. So they are pretty booked up unless you want to sit at the bar. It was a little disappointing they had given our table away to someone that had walked in previously, even after we called to confirm our reservation. Not much they can do since they were fully booked so we had to wait about 20 mins for another table to become available since they were very busy, which was kind of a bummer but the food was absolutely delicious and definitely made up for it. read more

Three hours for dinner? This was terrible. The food was passable, but definitely not worth the money. It took a long time for appetizers to come out, but entrees followed shortly after. It took an hour between our entrees being cleared and us getting desert. As for the food, the lobster bisque was flavorless, and the Caesar salad tasted like the dressing was out of a cheap bottle and not freshly made. I've had better. We had the Filet Mignon which was under cooked and came with about 5 or 6 green beans and what looked and tasted like instant mashed potatoes. Once our entrees were cleared, it was an hour or more before desert came out. There was no reason this should have taken a total of three hours for dinner. Cheap food at an exorbitant price is not worth it. I paid $30 for a double whiskey neat. I can buy a bottle of the same whiskey for $20. This place is horrible and I will never go back. And maybe try increase the lighting in the bathrooms as well. Everyone in our party complained about how dark it was. read more

My Dad requested "Surf and Turf" for his birthday so I picked Ocean Prime to celebrate his big day. Man was I so happy with this decision! From appetizer to drinks to dinner, to a free dessert for my Dad for his birthday, this restaurant was a home run. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their food from the appetizers to the entrees to the side dishes. The filet and lobster tails were delicious. All of the sides were outstanding, but the standouts included the jalapeño au gratin potatoes and the brussel sprouts. For cocktails, the berry martini (I forget the name, but the one with dry ice) is one of the best drinks I ever had. We sat in the lounge area, and we were treated to some great live music. Went to celebrate Fathers Day, spent $365 and these Tails were over cooked and also sent two extra because they were too small, I've always say don't serve anything if it's not up to the standards. I was told they only had 2 tails left and they still sent two small ones to make up the difference but not the same taste. My server was good, beers were empty at times but I'm sure they were busy. Finding Florida grouper on the menu was a pleasant (and delicious) surprise. My dinner companions raved about the fillet, the Chilean sea bass and scallops. They knew the menu and gave great recommendations. They truly seemed happy to be working there, and that really makes a difference. Food-Impecable! There was not a thing I'd change or modify. We were a few minutes late because of the traffic in the area but they sat us right away and started taking a drink order a minute after we sat. The wine menu was huge but I especially loved the whiskey and bourbon menu since they had some rarer bottles that's tough to find or get like the Yamasaki 30 year and dalmore cigar blend. We started off with appetizers getting raw and charbroiled ones they even gave us a extra half dozen for taking a tad linger longer then normal. Both of course very fresh the charbroiled had a good amount of cheese and tasted perfectly. Also ordered the steak tar tar which we all loved especially with the quail egg in it. For the main course we got the ribeye Oscar style, the New York steak, and glazed salmon. For the sides creamy spinach, Brussels, tater tots and baked potato. The steaks were cooked to perfection cut like butter and just melted in your mouth. The salmon oh man was delicious especially with the teriyaki glaze over rice. The Brussels were crisp and the spinach tasted so good with the bacon in it. The tater tots with the sauce were probably our favorite side to have. To finish it all off for the night we ordered the butter cake with ice cream and this by far is the best dessert because it was super moist soft and went so well with the fruit and ice cream. My wife, our daughter and I had a lovely meal at Ocean Prime, which my wife "discovered" via an email blast from a local periodical. She did some research on the restaurant group, the chef/owner and we were duly impressed. Ocean Prime is located right on Sandlake Road, which provides easy access to the shopping center; and, provides complimentary valet parking. We were seated outside the main dining room, which was lovely; and we ogled the bars, which were impressive. We started with bread and water service; and, my wife and daughter split an appetizer of Deviled Eggs, which were delicious. The truffle oil provided a very nice flavor, which did not overwhelm the fresh eggs. I had a half dozen of the Blue Point Oysters, which were scrumptious. For cocktails, I had the Blood Orange Old Fashioned and my wife had the Berries and Bubbles. There are plenty of photos showing how impressive this drink is! For mains, our daughter had the Teriyaki Salmon, which she loved. I had the Grouper Entree, which was a fresh-water, young fish that tasted fantastic. My wife had the Sea Bass, which is a favorite of hers; and, the preparation and presentation was fantastic. I had a glass of the excellent French Chablis to go with my fish; and, my wife had the Pinot Grigio. We all shared the Jalapeño Potatoes au Gratin, which were wonderful. The slight heat elevated the dish and gave it a wonderful lift. For dessert, our daughter ordered the Butter Cake, which we've had at other restaurants. But, nothing comes close to this preparation. It was sublime! I also had the Liquor 43 to go with the gooey, buttery, moist cake. Michelle was more than a capable server; she's a foodie at heart and we enjoyed talking with her about the dishes and the preparation.
