The food was prepared without any quality assurance. The shrimp was nearly raw as was the chicken. I tried to get the attention of the waiter and explain that the food was not prepared correctly but I was ignored. It's really a shame because I try to support our local restaurants and don't like to leave poor reviews, but this was just downright awful. read more

Just left with the dinner on the table. Jet black straight hair in the food. Tried to be respectful of the other patrons as we are all human and mistakes happen, however the owner came out to address the concerns and was extremely rude and said it wasn't any of her staff. Benches worn down and uncomfortable. No tables to offer in the main dinning area. Once we complained, at that point the entire staff was rude. Wouldn't make eye contact and talked between themselves as we were paying for our drinks. Never going back again. Also. Respectfully, I've really tried. Almond chicken isn't chicken nuggets with gravy. It's a single piece of chicken battered and proper almond gravy across the top. The tempura prawns were so heavily battered they almost were inedible. The soup was good. The service was pretty non existent. Servers sat at a back table watching YouTube. No ambient music playing either to at least cut the dead quiet vibe. You guys can and should do better. Chehalis deserves better! read more

I have been purchasing from this place for a couple of years now. Great, friendly service. Workers are really nice. But the last two times I have ordered the Chicken chow mein, the crunchy noodles that come with it have been pretty darn stale, which ruins the chow mein. We are still on the hunt for some good local Chinese food and Ocean Sky was next on our list. We went on a Saturday at about 5:30 and were seated right away. The booth was clean. We were given our paper menus, very beat up and dirty, I kind of didn't want to touch it. We placed our order and watched the droves of people pour in. Most to dine in, a few for pick up. Although very busy, the staff did a great job moving with the flow. The food came out at a decent pace. I got the #4 which was the BBQ pork fried rice, BBQ pork, and sweet and sour chicken. It's was ok. The rice was dry, the BBQ pork was tough, but dipped in the hot mustard made it better. The chicken was the best part of the meal. The portions were huge, I got a to go box (not styrofoam btw) and it was filled to the brim. Heated up the next day thought I could doctor the rice some with my own sauces, but same outcome as above. Only the chicken was worth saving. The one thing that bothered me the most was the dirty dishes cart that they had sitting out by the front reception. Dishes would just be kinda tossed in there across from our booth, I tried not to look in that direction. I think we will try again, maybe pick up next time. read more

I drive from Lacey to eat Chinese here. No other place compares. The food is fresh and tastes like it should. I recommend: Mongolian Beef, Triple Crown, MooGoo Gai Pan, all of the fried rice, and the sesame chicken. It's usually quiet if you dine in and the service is great. I've never considered this to be a really good Chinese restaurant, but it's usually not the worst. That changed last night. We ordered two combinations, and both were beyond horrible! Inside is bright and attractive with wooden paneling and clean mineral table tops. Very nice family run place. Ocean Sky is your run of the mill Americanized Chinese food joint, but they do a pretty good job of it compared to similar places I've set foot in. Hefty portions ensure you will be taking home a little white box with a metallic handle on top. The broccoli chicken was excellent while the other dishes I sampled (including bbq pork lo mein, fried rice, almond chicken and the egg flower soup) all paled in comparison. Overall, this is a good, cheap place to take your family on a Friday night or even to host a large group of people. There are better Chinese offerings, but this one is a favorite of the locals. Odds are you won't find yourself in Chehalis anytime soon, unless you happen to live there or are stopping to gas up on your way to Seattle or Portland, but, at least you'll be able to smell the nearby Chehalis Mint Factory when you set foot in the parking lot. Stopped by here while driving from Portland to Seattle....it is a hidden gem. First off i know seattle and portland have great chinese food, but around here in the middle of nowhere....it is great. Possibly the healthiest and one of the tastiest i being to. The chiken brocoli is very good. The general tso chicken was not too heavy on the sauce...which made it good. Fried to perfection. My friend and I chose to eat here over Easter weekend. It was a big mistake. First up - my food. Chicken Teriyaki. A simple dish. When I tried to eat it, something tasted way wrong with the sauce. Next time I the waitress came back, I told her the sauce tasted funny, like it was going bad. She proceeded to lecture me about how everyone liked their Teriyaki chicken. I stated again, that I, as the customer, did not like it and she took it away. She then came back 5 minutes later to tell me the cook and kitchen staff tasted it and said it was fine. Agitated, I stated that I really didn't care that they liked it, I did not. She then stated there was nothing wrong with it, that it was made FRESH YESTERDAY. Mind you we were eating around 730 pm, so that sauce was a good 24+ hours old. This waitress came back a total of 4 times to argue with me about the Teriyaki chicken so when she finally asked if I wanted something else, I was like "no thank you". My friend had a chow mein, chicken lo mein and something else dish. The chow mein was tasteless and the lo mein was greasy. Had to really dig around to find the chicken in the chicken lo mein. Sorry excuse for Chinese food. I won't ever be back to this place. I am still shaking my head from the Fresh Yesterday comments, which the waitress came back to the table twice to tell me that it was made fresh yesterday and it was fine....Cause I'm telling you...I love Teriyaki Chicken and this was not fine..It was bad.... If you live around Chehalis and want good Chinese food, drive the 5 extra minutes to Panda in Centralia. You won't be disappointed there are made nauseous by the food. read more

Very good small town 'murican Chinese restaurant. You know the kind. The same standard fare China has exported around the globe that you doubt many Chinese have ever actually eaten. Yummy chow mein, almond chicken, mongolian beef, kung pao, sweet & sour...nothing revolutionary, or remarkable, just decent, tasty Chinese fare. Portions are average. Prices are average. I think "Average" sums it up best. Why then am I giving them FOUR stars? Because in this day and age, average is getting harder to find, and their staff is friendly, the place is clean, and service is reasonably quick. Those things count too. read more
