Hands down the best Thai food I've ever had. The phad Thai is the best, I've yet to find better. The sauce has amazing flavor, it has amazing toppings and they do not skimp out on it either. I've always enjoyed this place. It's rarely open which is super hard but it's so worth it when you do try it. Best Thai flavor I've gotten and I've tried almost every Thai place in the surrounding area. This place takes the cake! Wow! What's up with all of the good reviews. Most of the bad ones were removed by Yelp. We decided to try this place out on our way to ride the Polar Express at the railroad museum in town. We gave ourselves plenty of time so not to miss the train. We were sorry to choose Somsiri as our place to eat. The service was nonexistent and we almost missed the train. They took forever to take our order. After ordering the food took 45 minutes to get out to us. At this time we were asking for to go boxes before the food was at our table. When they finally brought the food out they did not give us enough napkins and silverware to go around. We were missing spoons and knives. Not to mention three little napkins for four people. As we were waiting for our food we started to look around the place. We could not miss how dirty it was. The place was filthy. They only clean small areas and let the rest of the place go. I have been coming here frequently only to find it closed despite hours posted on the door. Finally Saturday open. A pleasant young lady seated me who spoke English as a 2nd language. Nice gentle music playing in the background. I wasn't hungry enuf to order an entree so i settled for salad roll (with a tiny tiny piece of chicken) with peanut sauce & a pot of jasmine tea. During our first visit to the Centralia area, we were craving some asian food and happened to stopped by Somsiri Thai for a late lunch. Y'all. The food here is so good. I have to admit that it was way beyond my expectations. Everything we ordered was so delicious, and the portion sizes... huge!. We ordered all of our favorites: tom kha soup, pad Thai, pad kee mao, and pineapple fried rice... once the food came, I almost thought the dishes wouldn't fit on the table, the plates were way bigger than I expected. And yet... we ate it all! Each dish was filled to the brim with ingredients, unlike some places which give you a ton of noodles without much meat or veggies. The ambiance is very homey and there are a lot of nice decorations - you might find it a bit dark if you're not by the windows. But it won't matter, cause you'll be too busy stuffing your face. Have been to this business several times over a few years. Keep trying to give it a chance, but wife and I are sadly disappointed each visit. We really want to try to like this place. Went in on a Friday 9/30/22 shortly after they opened (sign said 4:30 open and we got there at 5 pm). Sign on door said take out only tonight-apparently no servers able to find in which appears to happen not infrequently. So we were told about 25 min for food to go. Then several people who had ordered ahead of us got their food - rightly so. And then numerous walk-ins that came in well after us (no-not call ahead for pick up people-folks like me & wife who walked in and ordered to-go food). One guy in back cooking one order at a time. One lady working counter, answering phone, cashiering. After almost an hour she finally saw we were still sitting there staring intently at the kitchen pass-thru. We had been there an hour. Waiting for "25 minutes" for our food. We were finally the only ones left in the restaurant waiting. Our curry container was sitting there for probably 30 min. The woman came over and asked again what we had ordered. Wife got curry something (mildly spicy). I had ordered orange beef with rice. Mild spicy. Lady went to pass-thru and said something to cook. A few minutes later she brought our food in to-go bags, placing the now luke warm curry container in along with the styrofoam containers of food. Got home. By now it's well after 6. I'm hoping wife doesn't get sick from the curry that was sitting on the pass thru counter in restaurant in the heat danger zone, having bacteria multiply. I opened my container. Chicken -just a few minuscule shredded pieces with mostly large shards of broccoli. Soaked in orange sauce. This is not beef that I had ordered. And zero spice. I love this place. The chicken curry can be wicked spicy if you want it. I thought I knew heat I was not expecting what came. I absolutely loved it tho.
