This restaurant's strong point is its interior design, atmosphere & Architecture! It is so unbelievably romantic. As I said in my tip is an ideal place for a proposal. There is also plenty of space for large groups. Very Art Deco. Dim romantic lighting design. The bar is articulated with yellow light accents. It reminds me of a larger fancy more modern day Bookbinders of Philadelphia. Very classy and extremely upscale. The staff was friendly and attentive. The interior is a A+++. The food is also good I would rate it B+/A- as far as creativity and taste. I am a little hard to please as I live in the culinary capitol of the world, Philadelphia and I also am into many very complex spices. I eat a ton of exotic Asian dishes usually. But if you like American and Steak houses it is pretty awesome. I expected a little more from a high end steak restaurant. I ordered a medium well steak. It came out bleeding. I asked to have it returned for a medium well. They clearly cooked the same steak, burned the outside and half was well done and half still medium well. I asked to have it returned. The "general manager" came over, I say manager in quotes because he didn't even introduce himself or say a word because he just took my plate and walked away. I had to ask my waiter who he was. I expect more out of a steakhouse. This isn't a typical neighborhood steak place, this is supposed to be a high end steak restaurant. American Cut is not what it used to be. They don't prepare the Caesar Salad tableside anymore. The $14 salad that arrived at the table was soggy and almost devoid of flavor. The manager took it off the bill. Then, our steaks came out. The porterhouse, and both NY strip steaks, were overcooked. In addition, the porterhouse was completely under seasoned. The manager gave us free desserts. We didn't want dessert. So, I ordered a Glenfiddich 12. Instead, I was given Johnny Walker Red. The whole experience was very disappointing. We've visited American Cut since the Revel opened. It's now off our list. Spend your money elsewhere. I wish I had read the recent reviews before we went. I wouldn't have wasted $500. read more

Good atmosphere, chopped salad and tuna appetizers were very good. Entrees took quite a while to come to the table. Not worth the wait, 8oz filet, and NY strip, pretty awful. Disappointed in this place. Stayed at Ocean Resort and went here for a Saturday night dinner. Can honestly say I don't think in 30 years I've ever sent back a meal. We are not picky people. Girlfriend's steak was startlingly cold to the touch. It felt like it had been sitting out for some time. My steak was ordered medium rare and was so raw?/undercooked in the middle that the waitress even seemed appalled. I'm even fine with rare steak but it legitimately looked like raw, uncooked meat. The server did work quickly to get the meat cooked further (microwaved?) but it just wasn't the quality that is expected of a $50+ steak. We also didn't even get anything comped from our bill. It was tasteless, bland, and definitely not worth the price of $130. On top of that, it is advertised as 40 oz (the bone is more than half) and good for two, I could have eaten two myself. Arrived at six for a meal before the 8 pm B52's show. I had made a reservation unforts it was for the night prior. The maitre'd graciously sat us in the lounge with full dinner service. Nicky was our server and meal service began well. We ordered raw bar, apps, salads and dinner along with 2 rounds drinks. After ordering all service seemed to cease. Nicky essentially disappeared. Our raw bar order arrived 30 minutes in. That was the fastest portion of the meal to arrive. Some apps never appeared. The tables all around us were never bussed and we sat surrounded by others filth. After over 90 minutes I had to seek out Nicky to remind her we had a show to make at 8 and could we please get our food. The rest was rushed, the food had obviously sat in the kitchen for awhile. No one asked how my steak was cooked. My surf and turf filet minion was ordered medium rare and came medium well. Then the server said my cc was declined despite my cc stating no charge was presented to them. I paid cash for the $351 bill and will never return. Do not eat here. read more

We love steakhouses and figured we would try American Cut since we were staying at Ocean Resort. We arrived on Friday night, and the place was almost empty (bad sign). First, we ordered steak tartare. It was very good, but they topped it with a hard-boiled egg instead of the traditional raw egg yolk. This is really a rookie move for a real steakhouse, but OK. We ordered a filet and a strip for dinner. The filet came out OK. Flavor was bland. The strip was supposed to be black and blue, topped with blue cheese crumbles. They forgot the crumbles and the steak was nearly cooked to medium. We didn't send anything back because we were starving. Also, sending back a black and blue steak to add melted crumbles would ruin it, assuming that it had been prepared properly in the first place, but it wasn't. Shame on me for assuming that. The experience wasn't terrible, but when you're paying $300+ for two people, it'd better be good. I would go to Vic and Anthony's, Chart House, Gallagher's or even Mortons before coming here. read more

There were 4 of us tonight - we ordered the hot/cold seafood tower, which was decent. Then ordered the porterhouse 40oz flambé style. The first steak was well done. Awful. Sent it back. The next steak came out cooked correctly however no seasoning at all. The chef was obviously insulted and took a page out of Hell's Kitchen and penalized the customer. They comped some of it but we still walked out - hungry and $300 later. Even the staff here is embarrassed to work here. Not worth the money. There are so many other places to eat in AC. If I am spending $50 on a steak ( not even with sides) , in a restaurant that has a dress code of business casual, I should not be subjected to other customers in bathing suits and wife beaters dropping foul language at the top of their lungs . Needless to say they have lost this customer and any of our friends . The waiter was very nice and apologetic however the manager could not be bothered with our concern. I do not write reviews of restaurants (Good or Bad), but this is one i could not let go due to the lack of care and fundamental errors that were made. From the moment we checked in with the hostess, this meal turned out to be the worst dining experience I have probably had. Upon checking in at our reservation time at 8.30pm we were told our table was just being finalized and it will be a couple of minutes and take a seat. So took a seat next to the hostess stand, however, 15 minutes later and after 3 more reservations who arrived after us had been sat, I inquired further as to where our table was (the table we were actually sat at had been free since we sat waiting), we were again told it would be a couple of minutes. We were eventually sat at 8.50pm (a full 20 minutes after our reservation). There was no apology from the hostess, and in fact we were made to feel like we were in the wrong. We would have happily sat at the bar enjoying a a drink if we had been forewarned of a wait by the hostess staff. It didn't get any better. Upon seating at our table it took our waiter just shy of 10 minutes for us to receive our menus which is unacceptable, which was in full view of management staff who lurked nearby at the end of the row (just location where they congregated). My partner and I both ordered steaks medium. Whilst my partner's steak was cooked nicely, my steak had been grossly overcooked, but more so the center of the steak had a mulch texture which suggested it was a poor cut of the meat or even worse might have expired. I have never sent food back, and in this experience i didn't, however, in hindsight i made a mistake and the food should have sent back. Whilst the appetizer and my partners steak was to standard, the service again faltered. To add further insult to our experience, we sat at our table for over 15 minutes with our finished plates at our table. Our waiter had looked pre-occupied all night, and at this time it was clear to see why as he was setting up for a table of 20 guests who had not arrived. However, if our waiter is busy, i would still expect (for a level of restaurant they are trying to pitch themselves as) that a bus boy or another waiter would help out. We also had two different senior members of the staff (e.g. management) come up to our table and ask how our meal was when we were finished and still neglected to clear the plates, and due to our location This restaurant has a long way to go to live up to the lofty expectations it sets itself. Management do not know how to run a restaurant, waiter staff are too busy and lack care particularity for a table of 2, and the hostess staff need to be properly trained in hospitality. Go to this restaurant at your own risk, it is not worth the money. Even if the service had been impeccable, the prices charged are equivalent of dining at Peter Lugers or Wolfgangs in Manhattan, however, the standard is nowhere near. Much better options elsewhere in the hotel (such as Amada) and nearby outside of the resort. read more

Waiter also spilled a full Martini on our friend and his Australian sweater (although that was funny and the bright spot of the meal). Very disappointed. My husband and I stayed at Ocean for two nights for our anniversary. We decided on American Cut for our anniversary dinner . We ordered the table side prepared porter house steak ( 120$) , twice baked potato , lobster Mac n cheese and Caesar salad . The Caesar salad was so soaked in a bitter dressing it was non edible . We sent the salads back and they took it off the bill . The steak and sides were brought out and placed on the table at the same time the table side preparation began ...... the waiter prepared a sauce with some spices and herbs which was cool to see but the food was getting cold while he was doing that . Once he was finished and we began to eat, the steak was cold . Apart from the steak being cold, it was not seasoned at all and was overcooked ( we ordered medium well) . We both asked for salt and pepper to season it ourselves . The twice baked potato was just ok . It required salt as well and the lobster Mac n cheese was also very bland . Our waiter Adem was very nice and attentive . The only good part of the meal was the bread and vegetable cream cheese spread . CUSTOMER SERVICE - We made rezzies for three, 3 weeks ago for 7pm because 8pm wasn't available. Online showed the place was booked up so we called and they confirmed 7pm was all they had, so we took it. The day of dinner (last night) we again call during the day to explain to them that my brother was in a big meeting and changing the dinner to 8pm would help tremendously. They again reiterated that the place was booked solid and they can only do 7pm, so we accepted. If the place is booked, its booked. I totally understand. We get there at 6:55 and the place has about 8 tables booked. They seat us. We look at each other and all think the same thing. If this place isn't filled up by 8pm we are going to have a word with them. Just as we thought, 8pm came. We let another 15 minutes go by and this place is still only at about 15-20% capacity. We could have been sat at 8pm with a party of 40 if we wanted to. My brother called over the hostess and explained to her how we tried over and over again about getting in at 8 and they assured us there was nothing they can do, now take a look around. You could have shot an arrow through that place and wouldn't have hit anyone. So the girl says, ill have my manager Randy come over. About 5 minutes later, some guy walks over to the table and says is everything ok? We say yeah. He continues to look at us. We look at him. Never introduces himself. He then says, do you guys have a complaint or am I just here for small chit chat? Turns out this guy was the manager she sent over but it wasn't Randy. He was a different manager. He had a beard. Anyhow, we explain to him the deal and he says, yes he's aware of an issue that the system is telling people that the place is booked when its really not. He said the computer shows full capacity when only 20% is full. So if they are aware of this, when we call and speak to an actual person, why wasn't this rectified? Why didn't they manually override the glitch to accommodate us? Ill tell you why. Because he is full of sh_t. They just want to keep prime time for dining open for walk ins while the suckers who booked a month ahead of time are locked into a time they don't want nor never wanted. Complete nonsense. This guy was unprofessional, he was arrogant and rude. And despite that, if he sent over a round of drinks as an "oops we messed up", I wouldn't be on Yelp writing anything bad. I'd be giving him a better review. I know mistakes happen, but when they do, you make up for it. FOOD - Food was sub par. Steak was ok, Lamb chops were ok. Certainly not enough meat. Asparagus, boiled and tasteless. Needs to be blanched. Mash potatoes were ok. Biscuits were tasteless. Drinks were again just blah. Didn't order dessert because nothing else was great so why take a chance. AMBIANCE- Ambiance was lacking. Had no feeling to this place. A funeral home would have been a better place to eat this dinner. SERVICE - The one good thing about this place was our waiter. His name was Joe N. He was super knowledgable about the menu, recipes, ingredients, wine, etc. He was great at his job, professional, accommodating and super nice. My wife and I went here for nice dinner. We ordered a tomahawk steak for two, a vegetable, and a large potato. We ordered the steak medium rare. The potato and vegetable came a few minutes before the steak. The potato for a $12 potato was a tiny mini potato. The beers they served were completely flat. They had zero carbonation. They were likely very old. The steak eventually came out, and the steak was all cut up and it was completely raw. The middle dark purple and ice cold. The waiter saw this and said "that's raw." 15 minutes later, the steak came back colder and just as raw. At this point, the tiny potato and terrible tasting vegetable were done. We were left staring at a cold, purple, raw chunk of overpriced $135 meat sitting on the table even less appealing than the first time it came out. Not only this, but had we been able to eat this gastrointestinal distress inducing raw meat, we were only given butter knives to attempt to cut through it. I would expect something like that from a rundown Perkins, but for a premier 5* Steakhouse, this is completely unacceptable. read more

The service here was exceptional. The bread was absolutely delicious, we decided to order the French fries and asparagus as sides/appetizers. The fries alone, were really good. Could potentially be the best fries we've ever had (also came with a special sauce). My friend ordered the tuna and said it was very good, not fishy, perfectly seared, and "like butter". I ordered the Ny strip steak which was absolutely delicious. Full of flavor,& perfectly cooked to the requests medium-well. However, the outside of my steak was a bit burnt, but I still enjoyed the overall taste of it despite the burnt taste, which was a little overruling by the end. I also ordered one king crab leg, and I wasn't thrilled, I always taste seafood before putting it into butter, and felt that this crab wasn't enjoyable without the butter. The butter mixture was a huge comeback bc it was absolutely delicious with it. However despite the burnt steak & not so tasty bare lobster, I really enjoyed my meal, the good overruled the bad! One of the worst steak I ever had.. ordered porterhouse for two..American cut's porterhouse can not be compared to peter Luger.. American cut's porterhouse steak was 1 out of 10. My girl and I didn't eat half the steak.. ny sirloin... chewy as hell.. fillet mignon was okay I guess according to friend.. $90 appetitizer sampler for two.. such a waste of money.. best thing I had at this establishment was Their French fries with sauce which came with it and Fiji water.. bill was little over $400 with tip.. this meal was not even worth $10. Not sure how wa cooked but It wasnt grilled and at best 10 oz.. it was cold on delivery as were everything but fries. Do not order the carrot side. It is a single carrot for $16. I had the filet mignon , bf had the ny strip . Nothing out of the ordinary steak house but still good . Now as far as employees I have never seen so many miserable people in one place . Their attitudes were very poor , unfriendly and honestly put somewhat of a damper on the entire experience.
