I been here a few times and this by far one of the best sushi and japanese restaurant on Staten Island. The place is small but it allows them to be impeccable with their service. I enjoy a variety of their dishes but the one that stands out the most is the Peking Duck Roll which is a good combination of the original chinese dish wrapped up in a crepe like skin and drizzled with hoisin sauce. I order it everytime I come here and its a great appetizer to start out a lunch or dinner. I had several of their sushi ranging from sashimis to rolls and they are all prepared well and taste rather fresh. I had slowly shifted over to ordering their hibachi/bento box entrees. Recently I has their tuna steak which is well seasoned and cooked medium rare just the way I liked it. Price is decent compared to the quality and quantity given. I always saw signs for this new sushi place Ocean Sushi. Looked for a place in the Annadale hour to meet with an old coworker last night. I was excited when I saw they were affiliated with Hokkaido because I knew the quality of their sushi. The ambience is beautiful, clean and exotic looking. The wait staff was friendly and our server Kevin took the time out to talk to us, asked us if we liked everything and persuaded us on another round. (On top of the BoGo raspberry cosmopolitans I already had!) The owner was very nice and took the time to stop and say hi and make us feel welcome. The restaurant is very cute. Clean and modern. Food looked gorgeous. Sushi was very good and full of flavor. I can't comment on the sashimi because I don't eat raw fish but my family really enjoyed it. Pad Thai was a tad spicy but also full of bold flavors. Owner even gave us ice cream on the house! It was kind of busy on Saturday night, no big deal. The waitress was friendly and seated us. We ordered a kani salad, spicy dancing kani roll, yummy roll, and a king dragoon roll. The kani salad was very good. The spicy dancing kani roll was to die for, must get. The other two rolls were good too. It was a little difficult to get our waitresses attention for water refills, but it was busy so maybe that's why. I will definitely come back though, maybe during the day when it's a little less busy. The parking lot is a plus. read more

This is one of my favorite places to grab sushi on the island. I personally get the Spicy Kani Salad, followed by either a chicken tempura roll or a chicken pad thai depending on the day. The food here is great, the only bad thing is that the service is slow when eating dinner here. I would suggest either eating lunch or ordering out from here. First off, Michelle and her waitstaff: Connie, Fanny, and one lady with glasses (forgot her name) are all absolutely so welcoming, friendly, accommodating, and practice SUPERB customer service skills. Don't like something? The manager, Michelle, personally comes over to the table to rectify the situation. And the waitstaff provides patrons with excellent service.
