There are lots of delicious items to choose from and the portions are as expected in the price range. Hadn't gone to this spot in awhile. Couldn't remember why... ordered the tofu larb and the tofu pineapple fried rice. Have been to Thailand before and my dad was born in Thailand. So, I know what authentic Thai food tastes like. The pineapple fried rice was definitely watered down and should have had much stronger curry taste which was disappointing. In addition, the larb was a little different- much less lime flavor than typically. The tofu was also not in small little cut up bits/ minced as it typically is. They were larger bits with large cilantro (not cut up). This salad dish didn't taste bad and I would recommend it though it wasn't authentic. My husband liked it a lot more as he doesn't like too much like. And, I did like the less fried nature of their take on the larb. Bathroom and restaurant had nice decor and was clean. This place was my weekend staple before Kathy started working there (I've never seen her there before). The past three visits she ruined my order. First time: I asked for chili flakes and she yelled at me to sign the receipt, slamming it down and said they were in the bag (they were not). Second time: she gave me sriracha sauce instead of chili paste (pretty sure she did this to be petty because she remembered our first encounter - read more below) and was rude again. Third time: I asked for no onions, no green onions and my soup had EXTRA onions so I checked the receipt and sure enough: extra onions added. Pretty sure she added extra onion on purpose. After my first visit, when she yelled at me to sign the receipt and said the chili flakes were already in the bag she definitely had it out for me because I literally opened up the bag and pulled everything out in front of her to show her no chili flakes were added. She didn't like that so I'm sure she had it out for me every since. The food is good here, but the service has been bad since July. I ordered from here every weekend, but I'm done at this point. Update: I just returned the food and Kathy gave me hell to return it. She told me to not eat the food next time I want to return because her manager doesn't allow it. Didn't want to melt my tongue or stomach, so started out easy. My salad was crisp and clean, with fresh veggies and a nice tangy dressing. Really nice. My pad Thai had large chunks of pork and tangy noodles. The noodles were just right, and held up perfectly under the weight of the proteins. As a Thai cuisine enthusiast, I was absolutely impressed by the food here! It seems like the service was the biggest complaint among other reviewers, but coming here on a late Saturday night - about 40 minutes before closing - we were devoid of any issues. The decor is nice, and the seats were definitely on the comfy side. But the main attraction was definitely their menu. We tried one new (to us) dish, "Chili Shrimp Delight," ($15 - essentially a well-spiced Panang Curry with shrimp, peas, and carrots), a traditional "Pad See Ew" ($11-14 depending on the type of protein) to compare to other Thai establishments, and their "Sweet Sticky Chicken Wings" ($7) as an appetizer. In one short, succinct statement, they were all fantastic! They're all filled to the brim with flavor, have excellent texture, and were well presented. I hope that the wings become a permanent fixture on their menu, because they were amazing! The sweetness was definitely present, but wasn't too overpowering; the savoriness was still the crucible of the dish. A day at the pumpkin field calls for a Kabocha Squash Curry! My husband and I split that which was delicious! It was spicy and it had a lot of squash and tofu which I really appreciated! We also split spicy fried rice and drunken noodles with veggies, all a level 7. Which, I think we can bump up to an 8 or 9 next time. Finally! I ordered the Chicken with spicy basil garlic and a salad with Peanut sauce. The salad was tasty and fresh. Out of 1-10 for heat I ordered a 5 and think I could have done a 6 possibly a 7. I added broccoli to my dish for a fee. My friend had pad thai with chicken and ordered the soup. The coconut soup was good but a little too rich for her. The Pad thai was yummy. And this is where it all began folks, my love for Thai food AKA Pad See Ew, because it is the only Thai plate I have tried. This is my go to while at work so I mostly order take out from this location but decided to have a sit in lunch yesterday. The decorations are nice, very intimate, and hey have a large beautiful fish tank. The service was AMAZING. My girl Lina, checked up on us multiple times and when I asked her for no meat just extra veggies(not a fan of tofu) she: VEGAN ALERT! asked if I wanted it with no chicken broth and no egg as well. I WAS AMAZED. The spice level is not very consistent, I asked for a 6 and still had to add crushed pepper multiple times. I will probably go for an 8 next time. Definitely not as greasy as some places, but I wish they used chinese broccoli instead! - Yellow chicken curry: another dish I didn't expect to love but ended up really enjoying! The flavor profile is kind of similar to the tom kha and the chicken and veggies were cooked well. - Chicken pad thai: I'm not really a pad thai fan in general, so I don't really have much to say here. Ocean Thai Cuisine in Oceanside is a small, hole-in-the-wall place located in Oceanside. I have picked up from here several times however, I finally decided to dine in with a good friend of mine. We went in around 6:30PM on a Thursday night, to where it was around a five minute wait. Perfect! Sitting down, you'd realize the seats are a bit on the uncomfortable side, the booth having around a high wooden framing which really made it awkward to sit. The handed us the menu, water, and took drink orders to where I got a Sapporo. We ended up ordering a few appetizers which were great, the portion larger than expected but still delicious.
