Came by for brunch with a party of three. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated at a small table on the outdoor patio, which felt a bit cramped for three people. The table was also unbalanced and shaky.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with a coffee and café latte, which were just okay. We wanted to order the ceviche, but it was unfortunately unavailable. Eggs Benedict with Ham: Not worth the $19 price tag. The egg wasn't very runny, and the overall flavors were nothing special. Belgian Waffle: Met expectations--a safe choice. Breakfast Pita: Essentially a breakfast burrito in pita bread form. Very solid and served with a great hot sauce. The spiced hashbrowns were also a very nice touch. Overall, the menu felt stronger on the Mexican side than the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, the hot sauce ended up being the most flavorful part of our meal. If I were to return, I'd stick to one of the Mexican dishes. Parking: Metered street parking, which can be difficult to find during peak meal times.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This little cafe gives a home style feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is big and has a lot of good staple breakfast and brunch items. Everything looked and tasted really good especially the hot sauce! There might be a wait since seating is limited but if you can find a table I recommend it!

I've been here multiple times and food never disappoints. After reading some of the reviews, all I could say is they were just finding any reason to not like the restaurant. My boyfriend and I got their blueberry stuffed pancakes, spinach and tomato eggs Benedict, and the chilaquiles. Everything was delicious and flavorful. Prices are on the higher side, but it's Manhattan Beach and they do give plenty of food so it's worth it in my opinion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Views are pretty & plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As for service, the staff is sweet and somewhat attentive. I do wish they checked on us regarding water & the bill but that's about it. Definitely coming back again, love supporting yummy family owned businesses! :)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Literally one of the most below average meals and bad service and bad ambiance I've had in a while.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pictures they post on menu is not what it looks like. We asked for our food to be cooked in butter instead of oil and the waitress said they don't have it. Ummmm you serve breakfast but don't have butter??? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Flies everywhere!! I never in my life been attacked by so many flies before while eating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was staying in manhattan beach for 3 nights and didn't encounter flies anywhere else. And when she brought our food she refused to set it down on the table!!! She made us take it off her hands. My family owned 5 restaurants and let me tell u that is a big no no.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Located off a sidewalk with an amazing view of the water the 1st thing I noticed was how small the place but in the end, that's what gives its charm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were warmly greeted and attentively served throughout our visit. Nice little brunch spot in Manhattan beach! Ocean View is a tiny and small breakfast/lunch spot just up the hill from the beach. You do get a view of the ocean but the restaurant is very tiny only offering a patio so you may have to wait. The food was fine, pretty standard brunch offering. However, the service was extremely slow and they forgot my husband's drink several times. After we ordered it took almost 40 minutes for them to bring out the dishes. In terms of the bathroom, you have to walk through their kitchen to get to it and it didn't feel like the cleanest bathroom. I hope they can work to upgrade this in the future. And because they are located in Manhattan Beach, parking is extremely difficult during peak lunch times - just a fair warning.

I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the service was not good. The lady up front let us know that it was going to be a 30 minute wait, and I put my name down. An hour had passed by and we still weren't called. My uncle noticed that other people were being seating before us and they had only been waiting for a fraction of the time that we had. The lady realized they skipped our name after I asked them previously how long the estimated wait was. We ordered the Belgian waffle, an order of hash browns, and the fruit yogurt. The only thing that stood out to me was the freshly squeezed orange juice and the hash browns, everything else was not worth the wait in my personal opinion. The yogurt with fruit tasted very odd, and the yogurt was very watery. I really hope they can work on the service here.

Came here for the views on a beautiful sunny day. Fast and friendly service but the simple app (granola with yogurt) was nothing to brag about. I had to get some work done so they also had wife and outdoor seating so that was lovely. I may come back and try other dishes when I'm in the area cuz the ambience didn't disappoint.

Came for lunch around 2pm on a Sunday. No wait and plenty of seating. We got seated at probably the best table outside - the corner facing the ocean. Very fun to eat lunch while people watching. I ordered the Felipe Omelet. Everything was cooked perfectly. Hash browns were nicely crispy. Loved how hearty the omelet was stuffed with chunks of chicken & veggies. My bf got the 3 eggs with Meat (he chose bacon). He had no complaints and for $13.50, it's super affordable considering the location. Mine was on the pricier end at $18.50, but with all the ingredients in the omelet, it was justifiable to me. Would recommend to anyone looking for a laid-back breakfast/lunch cafe & relatively affordable prices.

Chose to eat here for the beautiful scenery of Manhattan Beach and was not disappointed by that lovely view! Their food was decent. I wish I tried their Mediterranean food, but got the half Belgian waffle and two eggs instead. My boyfriend got a chicken quesadilla and was pretty good from the little nibble I had. I've had better fresh orange juice before, but it was definitely freshly squeezed. Service was friendly but a little slow, although it looked like a lot of people ordered to go from them. Wouldn't go out of my way to come back here but it was a nice experience to eat with that gorgeous view. read more

Disgusting fly infestation, stay away unless you enjoy sharing your food with a bunch of flies. I couldn't even eat my meal (which I ended up paying for and leaving) no one seemed to care either. Won't be returning because of the unclean environment and lack of customer care/service. This place needs to do better read more

Very small family run place. Everything was amazing and fresh. The coffee was soooo good. I got the build your own omelet with chicken, onion, bell pepper, mushroom, and spinach. So so good. Service was very nice as well. Highly recommend. Support local! read more

Overall: The scenery was breathtaking! It is on a slope that looks down into the ocean surrounded by the prettiest homes. The restaurant itself also was cute...very authentic and I love the feeling of it being family run. Food: The portions were hefty and well worth the price. We mostly got egg Benedict's because that is our go to! Hasbrowns were crispy and salad was tasty too. Room for Improvement: The tables were small but the staff were very willing to combine table and chairs. Also no bathroom, I had to walk to another restaurant which as nice enough to use their restroom. read more

This is a very cute cafe with a nice view of the ocean with a great breeze on a sunny summer day. The food was fantastic as well. And I love a family owned business. The one annoyance was the number of flies I had to shoo away. Maybe an outdoor fan or some other way to keep the flies away would help. Despite that, I would go back! read more

This place is so cute. It caught our eye on a walk and we couldn't resist the ocean view and outdoor seating. We were impressed with our meals. Our table ordered breakfast and lunch and we were all content with dishes we picked. We especially loved the dirty chai they made. Service was great and chill. read more

This is a cute quaint restaurant that sits on the side of the pancake restaurant. It has a slight ocean view. It's nothing to crazy, but something you can enjoy. The food was ok. I ordered a Swiss croissant with bacon and a side of fruits (side note: there are no alternatives to pork bacon). It wasn't nasty and it was drop mouth awe-ing either. I added salt to my sandwich, if that gives a clue of what I'm trying to say. Anywho, I believe this is just a good spot to grab some food to eat if you're really hungry; or in the area for breakfast or maybe after a run. They do not serve alcohol. Last, but not least, I do love the idea of being able to walk up and pay ... oh, and the flower arch entryway is cute. Moving forward, because this restaurant is solely outside, there is no restroom for customers. So that also sucked, but didn't suck because we had kids with us and if we needed to change them, we would not have been accommodated. All in all, I still would come back to eat here and refer people. read more

3.5 for the food but rounding up for the seaside views and excellent service. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** Everyone who helped us was super efficient and friendly. Absolutely no complaints! **Decor & cleanliness, 3/5** Didn't see the inside, but docking a star because all the tables on the patio were super close together and definitely not socially distanced. There were maybe 3 feet between some tables but the backs of our chairs were practically touching the other chairs. The upside is that they're able to serve more groups, so there was no wait on a Sunday afternoon. **Price & portion, 5/5** Almost everything on the menu is a reasonable $14-16, with great portions that fill you up. Plain black coffee is a bit high at $4, but there are free refills. **Presentation of the food, 4/5** Simple and straightforward, no flourishes and nothing that stands out. **Taste of the food, 3.5/5** A bit inconsistent across plates but not bad overall. - California omelet (~$16), 4/5: The whole omelet wasn't as cohesive as most others I've had. All the filling fell out with each bite because it was cooked separately and the cooked egg just just wrapped around it. The flavors worked well together though and each individual ingredient was cooked well. - Eggs benedict (~$15), 3/5: Our table got 2 orders of eggs benedict. One of the plates had perfectly poached runny eggs, and the other had hard boiled yolks. Hash brown sides were mediocre and keep in mind they don't use hollandaise, it's more of a sour/spicy chipotle mayo (?) sauce, so don't order these if you're craving this classic brunch item. **Other notes** Ample street parking (and currently free for the holidays!) and the patio is dog friendly. They actually provided a bowl of water for the dog in our group which was really sweet! read more

Me and my boyfriend went on a Saturday morning and only had to wait 15 mins, however we did beat a rush. We were greeted by the nicest host. The place is small but there is enough space to feel comfortable. The view isn't a clear view of the ocean because it is in a residential area, but it's still a cute spot so close to the beach. Our food was great, I highly recommend their sweeter options or Mexican food. Hash browns were so good! The servers were always around to check on us. We will definitely be back :) Meter parking only in a structure or street. read more

This was by far the worst experience dinning out, not to mention the price point is not worth it. My food came out cold, hard, & crunchy. Service was terrible, but the view is nice. You're better off at uncle bills, because at least your bills will be spent better there. Hated this ! read more

Nice little restaurant right off Highland in Downtown Manhattan Beach. It's perfect for a weekend breakfast, brunch or lunch when you don't want to wait an hour for Uncle Bill's (right next store). There is usually no wait and the view is much much better! Ample selection of breakfast and lunch options including a number of Mediterranean and Mexican favorites. The service is quick and very friendly. Outdoor seating is minimalist and comfortable. Pricing is reasonable. Parking options across highland in lots or under Metlox Plaza. read more

You know what they say - sometimes the best experiences are stumbled upon unexpectedly, and that's exactly what happened when we discovered this hidden gem of a restaurant. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. In particular, Rudy stood out with his exceptional service and friendly demeanor. The food was also delicious! Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I had not been here in awhile. We had breakfast here yesterday. Weoo sord of noon breakfast lol. I ordered the Belgian Waffles with egg Benedict. It was absolutely delicious. I forgot how good the food here was, since we had not been here in a while. Nice place out by the water. I had not been here in awhile. Nice staff and cool vibes here. I have been wanting to try this place for a while but my family always goes next door to Uncle Bills. The server was kind and patient at first. She even allowed me to try their eggs benedict "sauce" as it isn't a traditional hollandaise. It's more like spicy queso which made sense as the place had a distinct Latino vibe. As a Latina I was all in. My coffee was burnt. That should have been my first indication but I had hope. My eggs Benedict came on wheat muffins (very strange choice) and one of my eggs was poached hard. My guest ordered the chilaquiles with eggs over medium. Normally chilaquiles are made with the chips underneath, salsa making them soft and eggs on top. Not this time. Her eggs came over hard on the side of the plate. Next to that she had beans and next to that her chips were hard and dry. The beans tasted fishy and salty. I told the server that our breakfast was pretty horrible and she said she would tell the owner (because I just work here). I expected the owner to come out and when I asked she said they were not in. So I asked for the manager and she said that she covers for the owner when they are gone. But yet she did nothing to remedy the situation, such as offering a discount or removing one of the meals. Nothing. I paid the check and tipped her 20% and we went next door to Uncle Bill's to eat. So disappointed. read more

REVIEW YOUR CHECK WHEN IT COMES. Wanted to love this place but unfortunately they charge a 4% credit card fee on all meals. They also charge a 23% service charge for groups of 6. The kicker is they have another area to add tip on top of that service charge. When the server handed us the bill, he didn't share the service fee is already included so we added more on top of this. Once we reviewed the bill, we realized we were about to tip over 40%. This felt deceptive to us. Food was mediocre, the manager was argumentative when had questions about the bill. read more

Food and service were excellent. Both my wife and I had a Monday off and were looking for good coffee and breakfast. We found ocean Ocean View on Yelp. We actually walked past it initially not realizing it was around the corner on 13th street behind Uncle Bill's. It's a small cute spot with a view of the ocean. I haven't really been eating out much recently, but when I do, I look for locally owned places. This place caught my eye because of the location, and OMG am I glad we chose it! From the moment we approached, the service was impeccable. They seated us right away, were very helpful with the menu, and the food was AMAZING. We had chilaquiles, a Benedict, and this baked Brie appetizer with fruit, honey, and almonds that blew me away. It was so good, we took sandwiches to go for lunch later in the day. Our service was great. I didn't hear her name clearly because of the face mask but I think it was Flavia??? My bad for not remembering but she was great. We had the eggs Benedict (ham and bacon), Baja breakfast burrito, Belgian waffle and chilaquiles. I didn't taste it myself so I can't confirm but my girlfriend didn't think the eggs Benedict was that great and she's looking right at me as I type this so that's what knocked off a star. If you are in search of some delicious coffee and customizable Eggs Benedict - this is the place for you! This morning we started off our day at OceanView Cafe. First and foremost the service was incredible. The staff continuously worked together to check that every table was never in need of anything. Not only that, but everyone was so friendly from the moment you approached the hosting table. The music was wonderful and the food and coffee were even better. The sauce for their eggs benedict was delicious ! And my mom loved the seasoning on their hash browns. Meanwhile the coffee as you can see from the photo was made with love! We also ordered a plate of French toast with fruit to all share, the fruit was so naturally sweet and complimented the French toast. I ordered the MB Post Burger, which comes with a 1/2 pound grilled patty, American Cheese, applewood bacon, and honey chipotle aioli, between English muffin buns. I added a sunny side up egg to it for an extra few bucks. The burger was messy, and difficult to eat. Ended up having to eat it with a fork and knife. I expected the egg to be a bit runny, but it was cooked all the way through. All in all, it wasn't enjoyable to eat. The crispy fries were not any better. To me, they tasted overly fried. The only thing I thought was exceptional was the bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuit with the whipped honey butter. It was buttery and crispy goodness. This item alone is worth coming back to this restaurant. Overall, this place is a solid 4 star restaurant. If you're planning on visiting this place, I have to warn you that parking may be a real pain to find since the area is very popular with beach goers. Things were exacerbated over the weekend due to a volleyball tournament. Had to drive around for like 30 minutes to find parking.

There is also street parking, if needed. This place was clean, modern, and bright and the service was friendly and prompt. They filled up our water pitcher when we finished our water without us asking, and staff checked on us periodically. The menu was extensive with fun breakfast stuff not typical of other Thai or breakfast restaurants I've visited. A lot of rice porridges in their Thai breakfast section. I tried some of my husband's and it was nice and comforting...I'm Filipino American, not Thai, but I thought the flavor reminded me of Tinola (or a papaya ginger soup/stew). I can see how it's regarded as traditional comfort food. They also offered the usual pad thai, etc. but we didn't order that...I tried the Thai Omelette over rice, my daughter had a peanut butter/coconut/banana/honey toast, and my husband had one of the rice porridges (pork/mushroom). All of the food was tasty and flavorful. To finish off our meal, we had the matcha bingsu (shaved ice) topped with sweet red beans. (I have friends in Hawthorne who travel all the way to Hollywood for their favorite shaved ice...they will no longer need to travel far for some really good shaved ice dessert! I plan to introduce them to Toast & Thai!) For drinks, I ordered the Thai Black coffee and my husband had an Americano. I didn't realizethe Thai "black" coffee was sweetened. Usually, when I order coffee "black", it means no sugar, no cream. Thai black coffee is sweetened with sugar (not condensed milk as in Thai tea) but they don't add cream. There was no description of the Thai Black coffee on the online or in-person menu so I didn't realize it was sweetened. The coffee was flavorful, but too sweet for me to finish. I saved some to take home to add more coffee and dilute the sugar. It was tasty, just too sweet for my liking. Overall, my family enjoyed our meal and experience and will definitely return with friends! There are so many other items on their menu I'd love to try next time - Hainan Chicken Rice, Croffles (Croissant / Waffles), Khao Soi, Panang Curry...We look forward to our next visit!

Ocean View Café - Not Worth It I came in expecting a relaxing meal with an ocean view, but instead I got an ocean of disappointment. The food? Passable at best -- nothing special, just "okay." But the service? Absolutely unacceptable. For the price they charge, you'd think they would at least manage a "good morning" or a "you're welcome." Instead, the servers acted like we were an inconvenience to their day. When I declined to leave a tip (after being treated like I was invisible), I was met with the kind of attitude you'd expect if I had insulted their family. To top it off, I asked for a simple to-go cup for my coffee, and the server completely ignored me like I hadn't even spoken. Not once, not twice -- they straight up acted like my request didn't exist. It blows my mind that this place thinks it's acceptable to deliver such cold, dismissive service and still expect gratitude. The view might be nice, but if you want to actually enjoy your meal and be treated with basic respect, you're better off grabbing a fast-food breakfast and eating it in your car by the beach. The absolute worst business I've given my money to in the South Bay. My friend and I stopped by for a lunch on a Friday afternoon and ... 1. We waited 10 minutes to be seated even though there are plenty of empty tables. 2. We were seated and given menus, then were asked to move tables to accommodate a single person who didn't want to sit in the sun (okay, no biggie so we moved). 3. We were re-seated at the edge of the patio by the plants so there were a bunch of flies and bugs hovering over us. 4. After giving us water and putting in our orders, we were asked to move yet again so they can seat another party. 5. It took over 35 minutes to get our food to our table. And even then, they brought the food out first for the single person who took our original table. 6. I noticed they gave me the wrong sides... asked for fruit and they gave me hash browns. I was too hungry to complain. 7. The waiter failed to refill our glasses of water even upon request. Absolute worst customer service ever. Do NOT recommend dining here. The view aint that pretty and there are way better options in Manhattan to eat at. read more

The presence of flies buzzing around the dining area was not only repulsive but also raised serious concerns about the establishment's hygiene practices. Don't come here. You will be wasting the opportunity to eat somewhere much nicer. This restauraunt has decent service but it takes a very very long time. I tried some of my husband's and it was nice and comforting...I'm Filipino American, not Thai, but I thought the flavor reminded me of Tinola (or a papaya ginger soup/stew). I can see how it's regarded as traditional comfort food. They also offered the usual pad thai, etc. but we didn't order that...I tried the Thai Omelette over rice, my daughter had a peanut butter/coconut/banana/honey toast, and my husband had one of the rice porridges (pork/mushroom). I saved some to take home to add more coffee and dilute the sugar. It was tasty, just too sweet for my liking.
