Pretty cool cafe with a great view! My friend who used to live here was visitng from Boston and wanted to eat near the beach. I found this place on Yelp and read that it didn't get too crowded with Uncle Bill's next door. They do get some spillage from Uncle Bill's as we had to wait maybe 15 mins. Sat us outside under an umbrella but I got a little hint of sun on my shoulder. It was a beautfiul view of the water and it was such a nice day. The waitress took our drink orders - I got an almond milk latte, my friend got a regular latte and the other got a regular coffee. The waiter came by to take our food order, guess they were sharing tables. I got the California Omlette with egg whites - chicken, spinach, mushroom and swiss cheese. My other friend got the almond grain waffle and the other made her own omlette (both vegetarians). Food came out fairly quickly and was delicious. I had asked for fruit but got hash browns, which they quickly replaced. Overall this place is great - food is yummy and reasonably priced but still high enough to justify the view. read more

A delightful little café with outdoor seating; serving breakfast, lunch, and coffee. I came for a vanilla latte, which was served with such friendliness that I decided to add a pancake to the order. Wish I was hungrier today......the food at neighboring tables looked delicious. Bonus- all of the outdoor tables actually have Ocean Views. read more

This place is amazing!! Amazing, delicious, fresh food. The orange juice is also delicious and fresh tasting. The views are beautiful and the service is very quick! Only about 11 tables total but it was not busy at all. Amazing and underrated place. Definitely recommend! read more

It is a small Momma/Papa restaurant that makes very good Mexican breakfast. It also has other breakfast options. I loved the waffles and Banana pancakes. read more

I love this place! I don't know how I've never been here, having lived in LA for 22 years. Adolfo and his sweet family run this place. Our server was a very polite young man who was highly attentive. The food was delicious! We had the baked brie with strawberries, apples, and honey. Get in my mouth! We also got the Swiss breakfast croissant sandwich and the Baja breakfast burrito. This burrito is one of the best I've had. A lot of places ruin the burrito by filling it with hash browns. This one was packed with eggs, cheese, ham, and sausage. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Went here for breakfast it's a good location very close to the beach nice little patio very busy. We had eggs Benedict and an omelette. Eggs were overdone on the Benedict not Runny. Hollandaise sauce was not typical almost seemed like a cheese sauce still decent flavor though. English muffins are some type of whole grain or multi grain not a fan. read more

Use cash. They charge for using a card, and mine was compromised. had to close the card etc. an employee had to obtain all information on the card for the online purchase made, including my 3 digit code on the back, which would not be on a receipt. blta was well below average and expensive. it's MB, but for the price, the food better be good and this wasn't close. Very disappointed with this experience as we have been several times before. We like the view, but will most definitely never go back UPDATE: multiple fraudulent charges came through. I called the restaurant to notify them an employee stole my information. spoke to the owner yesterday and he claimed he couldn't speak english. said to call back for Fabiana today. she's not there but the person (female) who answered the phone at the restaurant decided to end the call by calling me a rude a** mfer. Really nice. It's your choice to support them obviously, but MB had many other options with much better food and employees that won't cuss you out and steal your credit card information. read more

This family owned restaurant needs all the praise it can get. My family & I have been going here for years, I can't get them to go anywhere else. Not even to the place next door, we stay loyal to this restaurant because time and time again the food is IMPECCABLE, service 10/10 and the ambience is always on point with a beautiful sight of the beach. My go to is the 3 eggs & ham with hash brown. I love their seasoned hash brown with their delicious house made salsa. Coffee is always great as well. Waffles are delicious and so are the chilaquiles!! If you like them spicy ask them to be made with the house salsa. Unbelievably great!! They're super attentive and you can tell they care for each person that walks in. Don't walk, RUN! & come here for a great experience :) read more

Cute location, I believe family owned business. I was sat within 5 min of waitlist. Waited on rather quickly by a very sweet and polite young boy. The food was very homely so to speak lolll. Reminded me of my own kitchen in my grandmothers house. The blueberry pancakes were just okay. I won't get them again. I absolutely loved that I was able to walk to the beach right after. Oh! If you're not in a rush or have a lot of patience go here. I liked everything, the food is good and the smoothie was my favorite part. The wait though was insane. A group of 5 people who were sat after my friend and I yet they were served right away. We easily spent 45 minutes waiting which was confusing since our order wasn't complicated. read more

This cafe is so cute and quaint!! I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was my breakfast burrito deliciously satisfying, the view truly lives up to the cafe's name. Definitely did not feel too crowded here, and they did a good job of maintaining social distancing and offering us hand sanitizer when needed. I got their weekday special which was the adalfo burrito and it was only $8.49!! Definitely worth it. :) read more

Wow! I love this restaurant! It's quaint and unassuming. I came here after completing 5 miles of walking Manhattan Beach. It was the last 5 miles of a 100 mile challenge I had just completed. Yay! So needless to say I was hungry. It was around about a 30 minute wait which is not bad for a Saturday morning. I just love the view from the restaurant. Gorgeous! The seating area is like a patio area. I would say the seating capacity might be about 50. But this is a brunch restaurant so people are constantly coming and going. I even saw a few people pick up to go orders. I ordered the Ceviche Mixta. Very good! It was freshly made. I also ordered the Belgian Waffle!!! Yes, I was really hungry. That waffle was the business! It was perfectly made and it was topped with bananas, strawberries and blueberries. Yum! If you are indecisive person, get the Belgian Waffle, it won't disappoint. Now let's talk about service! I felt welcomed from the time I entered the restaurant. I was greeted immediately with a friendly smile by the staff. The servers were very attentive. This is a popular restaurant so please keep that in mind. People are constantly coming and going. The restaurant is dog friendly. The atmosphere is just beachy casual. Wait staff were practicing dance moves while waiting for people to finish eating. We waited 45 minutes to be served. We saw other people be served before us who arrived after us. We only had two people. With a kitchen staff this slow, it's no wonder people ever come back! We certainly won't be after this experience. The food was actually pretty good, but perhaps that's because after waiting so long anything would have tasted good! read more

I found this restaurant on yelp very disappointed. The food was not good. I got the butter pancakes and a side of eggs. The eggs were really gross. Not sure how you can make eggs wrong. I didn't eat them. The pancakes had no flavor. I also didn't finish them. I am giving this restaurant two stars instead of one only because of the location, friendly staff, and didn't wait to be seated. Overall I wouldn't recommend. I wasted my money and bought food elsewhere. read more

If so could give them -5 stars I would On Saturday, 5/8/21, my fiancé went to reserve a table for the 5 of us for a Mother's Day brunch. When he got there and attempted to put his name on the list the hostess told him, they weren't taking anymore guest as they were closing for a private party. Needless to say, he felt that, that seemed off. My mother, children and I arrived 20 minutes later. We decided to eat at Uncle Bills Pancake house which was right in front of this restaurant. As we waited for our table at Uncle Bills, without explaining he asked my mom to see if she could get a table at this location for the 5 of us, so she went over. That's when he explained to me that he noticed several parties go in after he was turned away but didn't know if it was for the private party they explained they were closing for, but felt suspicious. 2 minutes later my mom came back with menus and she was advised that the hostess told her it would be 10 minutes. I told her to give the menus back and tell the lady we won't be dining with them as they just turned away my fiancé. The hostess response, "oh" Of course we continued to see multiple parties go to this restaurant as we sat and ate at Uncle Bills. If you're wondering why they LIED To my fiancé, well so am I. He showed up with shoes and a blue polo, basically appropriately dressed for a brunch. Could it be because he's black? Well so is my mother! Maybe you can figure it out but if you go near this place eat at Uncle Bills Pancake House!! read more

Although we got seated quickly, the experience wasn't the best nor the food. Our party was seated at the door of the kitchen and back-stock area so we had to make ourselves small. Once we ordered it took 45 minutes to receive our plates where the waffles were hard and cold, the cheese was hardly melted inside the omelette, and the hashbrown tasted like pure Lawry's seasoning. For starters, they don't acknowledge you when you're standing and waiting to get someone. You're waiting a long time for food. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were BEYOND salty. Also the ceviche that lacked a lot of flavor. My boyfriend liked his pita but he said it was "Mid". I had high hopes!!! We're so sad! read more

Friendly place. Waitress Fabiola recommended chilaquiles and it was perfect. Chilaquiles. First time eating them with green and red sauce as they're always spicy. Not here. Really lovely place in the heart of Manhattan Beach with a quaint outdoor seating area, large enough for modest groups and families. The food is American/Mexican and offers breakfast, brunch and lunch options. I had the quesadilla and it was amazing. Not too greasy, and their house salsa was delicious!! Also ordered the strawberry smoothie and their coffee (refillable, of course). - their coffee was actually amazing! Definitely a spot to check out in MB. read more

This place is one of those places where everything looks nicer than it taste. I guess this is closer to a 3.5 than it is to a 3 but yelp won't let you do that. I ordered the ultimate breakfast combo. It comes with eggs bacon and a Belgian waffle. The eggs I ordered over medium but they came pretty cooked and had no yolk running when I broke them which is not the business. Egg yolk makes the world go round so You really can't afford to mess that up at a breakfast place. The bacon was ok pretty tasty. The waffle looked really nice but once you bite it it is completely soggy and no crisp what so ever. That was the big downside to the meal. The coffee is actually pretty decent. It's lavazza what ever that means but it wasn't bad and that's the point. The aesthetic of the place is a 4.5-5 it's a beach front place and on a sunny day it is really beautiful. The wait and the lack of quality food however just don't help balance out the overall value. I would come here on a sunny day for a coffee maybe skip the food but give it a try it can't hurt to have coffee with a view. read more

The Huevos Rancheros was good tasted nice and made a good breakfast. The omelette didn't have the toppings mixed in and overall very average omelette. The waffle was really good it had good texture and was a nice balance of crispy and soft 9/10 waffle. HOWEVER the servers were eating in front of use and did not wash their hands before giving us our food. All outdoor seating. read more

Staff are very friendly. There was a line but it went by fast. Parking on the weekend is hard to find, at least in my experience. During the week, it's much easier to find parking, especially if you go in the morning.

My grandma used to bake quite a bit when she was younger (I think she even had a little side hustle with it!), and my grandparents both have a serious sweet tooth. Since they're Mexican, their usual go-to is pan dulce. They also don't really make it out to the South Bay, so I thought this would be a fun opportunity to introduce them to something new. I decided to try Becker's Bakery and ordered custom photo cookies. The ordering process was easy and straightforward, and the staff were friendly and helpful when I had questions over email. When I arrived for pickup, my order was ready right on time. The real test, though, was giving them to my grandparents in Pico Rivera. They were so surprised by the photo-cookie idea! The picture came out sharp and clear, and they genuinely loved the cookies themselves. The taste was just as impressive as the presentation. Honestly, my favorite part was seeing their reaction -- first being amazed that their photo was actually printed onto a cookie, and then being pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted. I'm already looking forward to introducing them to more pastries from Becker's, and I think I may have accidentally created a new tradition for myself: custom photo cookies as a unique, thoughtful gift idea. Both the drink and pastry were delicious; the espresso was so creamy and the sea salt cut through the sweetness, and there was real ube inside the pastry. We sat and enjoyed our late morning snack in the next-door seating. I would highly recommend stopping by when you're in El Segundo!

Ocean View Café - Not Worth It I came in expecting a relaxing meal with an ocean view, but instead I got an ocean of disappointment. The food? Passable at best -- nothing special, just "okay." But the service? Absolutely unacceptable. For the price they charge, you'd think they would at least manage a "good morning" or a "you're welcome." Instead, the servers acted like we were an inconvenience to their day. When I declined to leave a tip (after being treated like I was invisible), I was met with the kind of attitude you'd expect if I had insulted their family. To top it off, I asked for a simple to-go cup for my coffee, and the server completely ignored me like I hadn't even spoken. Not once, not twice -- they straight up acted like my request didn't exist. It blows my mind that this place thinks it's acceptable to deliver such cold, dismissive service and still expect gratitude. The view might be nice, but if you want to actually enjoy your meal and be treated with basic respect, you're better off grabbing a fast-food breakfast and eating it in your car by the beach. The absolute worst business I've given my money to in the South Bay. My friend and I stopped by for a lunch on a Friday afternoon and ... 1. We waited 10 minutes to be seated even though there are plenty of empty tables. 2. We were seated and given menus, then were asked to move tables to accommodate a single person who didn't want to sit in the sun (okay, no biggie so we moved). 3. We were re-seated at the edge of the patio by the plants so there were a bunch of flies and bugs hovering over us. 4. After giving us water and putting in our orders, we were asked to move yet again so they can seat another party. 5. It took over 35 minutes to get our food to our table. And even then, they brought the food out first for the single person who took our original table. 6. I noticed they gave me the wrong sides... asked for fruit and they gave me hash browns. I was too hungry to complain. 7. The waiter failed to refill our glasses of water even upon request. Absolute worst customer service ever. Do NOT recommend dining here. The view aint that pretty and there are way better options in Manhattan to eat at. read more

The presence of flies buzzing around the dining area was not only repulsive but also raised serious concerns about the establishment's hygiene practices. The menu was extensive with fun breakfast stuff not typical of other Thai or breakfast restaurants I've visited. A lot of rice porridges in their Thai breakfast section. I tried some of my husband's and it was nice and comforting...I'm Filipino American, not Thai, but I thought the flavor reminded me of Tinola (or a papaya ginger soup/stew). I can see how it's regarded as traditional comfort food. They also offered the usual pad thai, etc. but we didn't order that...I tried the Thai Omelette over rice, my daughter had a peanut butter/coconut/banana/honey toast, and my husband had one of the rice porridges (pork/mushroom). There have been many changes to the place since we've last been and the ambience was very nice outside and in. Could lean fancy or as casual as you'd like. We had the roasted Brussels sprouts, steak frites and the scallops. Everything was amazing! Good quality, cooked well. Steak was exactly medium rare and scallops were cooked to perfection. Word of advice, if you get the Brussel Sprouts, get extra bread to soak up the sauce as you enjoy the sprouts. Can't wait til the next time!

The service is timely and friendly. And there are 5 different sitting areas (booth, bench, bar, bistro and patio), good background music and they offer beer/wine for day-drinkers. I wish they were open later and wish they had dairy-free/vegan baked good options - but not enough to deduct a star from this daily visit during my 1-week stay in the Hermosa Beach area.

I had a pretty solid positive outlook on them. I ordered the "French Toast Latte". I feel like it should have been called the Burnt toast latte. I genuinely took 3 sips and tossed it away in the trash can on the side walk. I tried to mix it and grabbed a straw to do so and it made it WORSE. I'm extremely disappointed that I wasted $7 on a latte. I've had bad coffees before, but this one took the cake. It tasted like milk, and the espresso tasted acidic, burnt have you. At least with other bad coffees I could stomach at least half of it but this was just really acidic. I noticed other people mentioning the coffee scene in LA isn't the same anymore and this attested to that. They started picking up foot traffic & I wasn't going to wait to ask for a remake or anything, I took the L and life moves on. I wasn't going to play Karen about it. The Lamington pastry somewhat saved the experience. This was an extremely moist, spongy, sweet cake that was delicious with coconut flakes on top. She was AMAZING. I snagged a piece off my friends and it was reeallllly good. I would recommend if you like coconut and a softer spongy cake like pastry! Talk about the underdog in this trip. The aesthetic is cute, it's clean and resembles a house. I like the scheme they have going on. The other half looks like a gift shop that I did not go into. They have a restroom available as well inside. Customer service was just customer service. Nothing amazing or bad about it. Pretty standard. We mentioned it's our first time & the girl didn't really care lol. We had questions and it was very whatever kind of vibe. No enthusiasm. Parking would be on the street so good luck!
