Lam is absolutely amazing. She was able to fix an absolutely horrible set of acrylics for me. She really cares about her customers and prides herself in her work. She is meticulous and possibly the fastest best acrylics I have ever had. They don't lift and look natural! The management is fabulous and really nice. Don't know how anyone could say something bad about them. The place is super clean with great massage chairs as well. So many gel colors to choose from which is great! You can also buy Opi and other polishes there a little cheaper than most places. read more

I recently had my nails done at Ocean View, based on Yelp recommendations. I was very happy with the manicure and pedicure they did. The pedi has held up pretty well for being 3 weeks after I got them done. I was most impressed by the fact that I didn't bleed and it wasn't painful when they did my cuticles. Because of how infrequently I get manicures, I usually bleed and usually have some pain when getting the mani. They were gentle but did a great job cleaning my nails up!!! I also recommend making a reservation, but I was lucky enough to get in for this appointment without one. I have been turned away in the past, though. read more

I have been a customer since the salon opened. The last few times I have gone I have not been happy with the quality of work - gel manicure and pedicure or the overall experience. If you get a manicure and pedicure you sit in the chair and the nail technician reaches over to do your manicure. My nails end up crooked. The gell chipped, it was messy looking at the cuticle and some edges of my nails were jagged. I didn't like how rough they were when cutting and filing. OUCH!!!! I also don't like how the two girls doing my nails spoke in Vietnamese. Talking about me? The weather? The size of my feet? It was a very uncomfortable feeling. The massage chair is never turned on, the water was cold, and the actual massage was not good. They are no longer using the customer loyalty card. It is pricey for what you get. Overall, the customer service and quality of work have gone downhill. Therefore, I will be going elsewhere because I want a pleasant experience with good results. read more

I am one of the pickiest persons when it comes to someone doing my nails and feet. I hate having to find a new salon every time we move but I was even more hesitant this time where as my last salon was AMAZING.. They totally get busy ! 2nd recommendation - Nikki is AMAZING at gel manicures and Joanne is FANTASTIC :) these 2 girls are total gems , adorable and incredibly sweet and I always leave with impeccable nails and toes ! I also tried their new Reflexology , very calming and total zen ! I'm always busy so paying some extra $ for this went along way...it's something new they offer OV nails is not a quick shop , so if your looking for a quick polish change or a 15 min pedi don't go, because they are beyond that! Even though there are many nail salons that are closer to me, I still drive out of my way to come to Ocean View. I've been going for about 3 years their quality has never failed. My manicures specifically seem to last longer than other salons. It's also super clean, friendly, and has good music and a good magazine selection. As an avid mani/pedi lover, I was shocked that I got a rash from my most recent pedi here. I was on the chair closest to the register. Never in my 20 years of getting mani/pedi's have I ever got a rash. It was almost immediately after I put my feet in the water that my ankles started to itch, it was swollen and red when I got home and the next day it was bloody. Also, they are so rude and always booked with appointments, even mid- day when they aren't booked. They need to be more flexible with walk-ins.. i've seen them turn away people every time i've been in there. unfortunately, I won't be going back to this place or recommending to friends. read more

This place is truly the best nail salon ever! I come here about every two weeks and never have a problem. Now I am one picky gal when it comes to my nails, yet I've never had to complain. I always schedule my appointments with Bow, and he never ever disappoints. I've been to about 10 different salons all over OC, and they weren't ever able to do the shape I like and perfect it. Ladies, you'll never here the "no your fingers crooked" line here. I highly recommend if you like your nails done in a certain shape to see Bow. Everyone else is great as well! Its clean and organized. The staff is great! My only downfall is, they don't have a huge selection of Gel colors, so I get my pedicures done at a different place. Ocean View nails is wonderful. I have been coming here since they opened a couple years ago. I pass by several other nail salons on the way to Ocean View Nails, but the drive from Mission Viejo is worth the service I receive. The salon is clean, calming, and the staff is friendly. I'm due with my second child any day now and wanted one last pampering before the chaos begins. Not only did I receive a fabulous pedicure, but I also tried a new service they are offering. Reflexology. I hadn't felt this relaxed in a long time. Ben, the reflexologist, really knew what he was doing. The service lasted about an hour and relaxed me so much I almost fell asleep. After being a long-time customer, I have found that the service and professionalism have diminished. My recent experience was very negative! First, the receptionist was inefficient in making my appointment. She could not even check to see who did my last mani/pedi which usually can be done by previous receptionists. She then said she would follow-up and let me know who was doing my mani/pedi and never followed through! After my services, she stated my fee was thirty-five dollars more than I owed. When questioned, she said she erred. She then went onto the next customer before I finished making a future appointment. Good customer service would be asking if there was anything more before moving on! The worst part was when I sat for my pedi, the water was very cold. I asked three times to have the water warmed to no avail! I had to complain to another technician to have this corrected. My technician then acted as if I were the problem with her attitude. She then began speaking in Vietnamese in front of me with two other gals. First, I find it rude and unprofessional to speak a foreign language in front of a customer in the workplace. Additionally, it was obvious they were speaking about me!!! This is unacceptable! As a paying and loyal customer, I felt I deserved better treatment and service than this! They did a good job I liked my light blue gel nails. But I had really short bitten nails and I had wanted ask if they could maybe extend my nail using gel like what you see other salons do. When I asked the lady doing my nails she said she couldn't because you could only do that with tips for acrylics and I didn't like that. A few weeks ago my nails broke and I don't know if any nail salons in San Clemente can extend my nails like that with gel or something without me getting acrylics, does anybody know where to go? read more

The girls in this salon are really good. The owner, a man, is not one of their best assets in front of customers. I took a leave of absence from this place more than a year ago because of him, not his staff. However, they have a woman who manages the desk sometimes...she's great--helpful and personable. Cute place and the girls are nice. Things seem clean BUT their gel nails suck!! My gels chipped and broke after 3 days. Gels last 2-4 weeks. I've never had them last so short. If I could only give them negative stars I would! Decided to try this place recently as its so close to my house. First of all I'm shocked at the positive reviews this place. It has to be the flashy interior. The decor is great and the chairs are nice. Very clean inside. But that's about it. First of all after my mani pedi I got ingrown toe nails (which has never happened to me before) the girl who did my pedi didn't know what she is doing. Then the girl who did my Mani totally ruined my nails by putting some crap bondo before painting my nails. I asked what that is she said it helps the polish stay on longer. She didn't even ask if I wanted it or anything. Well within a week my nails were chipping and polish pealing and then I noticed my actual nails were peeling apart and breaking!! Disgusting. I never wanted any chemical crap on my nails. Then also the very next day after my mani I got a rash on my hand. Also has never happened to me before. And on top of all this. They take cards but demand clients to tip with cash. Look I pay my taxes and thy should pay theirs. Why should I have to go out of my way to get cash for tip when tips are optional to begin with? Don't get me wrong I always tip and tip well but this just runs me the wrong way. If you don't accept cards you don't deserve my money! read more

My friend and I picked this place based on yelp reviews as a place to meet half way between us for a nail date. The salon is in a large strip mall and when we walked in, I noticed it looked clean, modern and tasteful, plus they had a good color selection of OPI, Essie ad some other brands so we were off to a good start. My friend got the special cranberry mani (w gel)/pedi but I opted for the classic mani/pedi (plus callus removal). My friend had a good experience and her fingers and toes came out looking great. My pedicure was good and I was very happy with the results but my manicure was subpar. The tech did a horrible job shaping my nails (possibly because of his weird technique that I've never seen anyone else use) and when I asked him to fix some super sharp and pointy corners he created he acted like I was being picky. If you're gonna have attitude, you need to do stellar work and this guy did not live up to the bar. The polish application was sloppy (rivaling what I could have done myself at home) and was chipping off the very next day despite the fact that I took special care and avoided anything destructive line typing, doing dishes, etc. while I would come back, I would refuse this tech in the future. I would tell you his name but he never introduced himself (just walked up, grabbed my hand, and started his subpar work). read more

She did my nails and brows when I lived in Bakersfield and now that we've both moved to OC, we still get to see each other! The staff here are all great and the salon is clean. I was extremely disappointed with Oceanview Nails. I came in with my daughter and another friend and we were all unhappy. They each got a mani/pedi and I just got a pedicure. The entire experience lasted maybe 25 minutes. My daughters polish is already off on almost all her fingers and several of her fingernails also broke. On her toes, the polish was not smooth at all. My toes are fine but it all went so quickly that I might as well have done it myself. Also, the upselling never stopped. With everything manicurist or pedicurist did, they tried to upsell us. That gets really old. When I went to pay for all three of us and add a tip, I was told I could only tip in cash. Who does this? You are only hurting your employees. I understand you have to pay more when someone uses a credit card but the truth is that most of use credit cards. I didn't have any cash so had to go outside and find an ATM. I won't be coming back here or recommending it. read more

I have been going to Lam at Ocean View Nails for over two years now and she is without a doubt the best nail technician that I have ever seen. Everyone at Ocean View is amazing. The facilities are very clean!! Lam is very gentle with gel removal so as to not damage the nails and my manicures last for over a month!! First let me start by saying this used to be my favorite place for getting my nails done, but over the past year, it has become harder to get in for a gel mani and pedi. I have tho, had my nails done twice within the past 6 weeks and let me say that this last time was totally awful!!! I scheduled an appointment, which is really the only way you can get in, and had requested a gel mani and a gel pedi. Let me start by saying that the girl doing my gel mani was completely rude and unpleasant! She seemed like I was an inconvenience to her and did a terrible job at grooming my cuticles--she basically ran the snippers around my cuticles and never trimmed any excess; as for the gel part, well, she was rough, and I mean that by pulling my arm constantly and twisting my hand to make it convenient for her and uncomfortable for me (definitely a don't in my book). And not to mention all the 'ughs' and 'hmms' noises she was making under her breath!!!!! Now for the gel pedi. Well I've had several in my time and this was a definite 'NO' in my book! Normally for a pedicure you get your feet soaked, polish removed, soaked, cuticles, nails trimmed, etc, then bottom of feet scrubbed, legs, etc, but in this case, well, she soaked my feet, took off the polish, trimmed cuticles, filed nails, then proceeded to apply gel polish! Yes, apply polish! Well as one foot is in the UV unit, she's apply polish to the other and for those who have had gel on their toes, you know it's not easy to balance the UV unit with your foot--well, getting back to my foot in the UV unit and switching back and forth, the tech proceeds to finish one foot completely and she starts scrubbing the bottom of my foot and legs and puts my foot in the tub of water! Yes, I said water, the whole time I had one foot in a UV unit and the other in the water--can we say electrocution?! If, at an time my foot would have slipped out of the UV unit, it would have fallen into the water. I can honestly say that I've never seen someone so stupid as to do a pedicure like this!!! I was appalled and apparently customer safety and comfort is not what they strive for!!! And lastly, after all this, I proceed to checked out and my bill for a basic French gel mani/French gel pedi came to a total of $104.00--and that's with NO TIP yet!! This wasn't even a fancy 10/15 minutes massage/paraffin or anything special mani/pedi!, Definitely won't be returning!!! read more

Let me just say I am very very picky about my pedicures and manicures. This salon is always clean, they are always friendly and you can tell that it is very well managed. I always make an appointment and I'm never sitting around. The salon has a great selection of nail polish to choose from, Essie & OPI. I always bring my own polish but sometimes change it and use theirs. They also have a frequent punch card and after your card is full you get a free manicure! pretty awesome! read more
