Nice place in Peppermill. The AYCE is reasonably priced and always delicious. Service was excellent. The clam chowder was piping hot and so delicious

Hefty rolls and a 20% locals discount make Oceano a great bang for your buck ayce sushi spot. For $48 (20% off $39) you get so much amazing sushi options, miso soup, seaweed salad and yummy gelato all come included. I ate so much nigiri my favorite pieces were the yellowtail (hamachi) it was melt in your mouth buttery, the donald duck salmon and the charred tuna (tataki). Some of the nigiri pieces like the red snapper, mussels and my second salmon order were a bit on the tough and chewy side. One unagi was super fresh and hot and buttery but the other was not as fresh and lukewarm. The rice was lackluster too not high quality. The hot night rolls was yummy and hefty- too much imitation crab on top. Overall I would say Oceano is great value and a nice ambiance inside and good for Reno locals to try!

Husband and I come here often. The last visit wasn't so great. Only because i have been dieting (glp) so I can't eat much. I did choose to do all you can eat sushi and was ok with paying the price even though I knew I wouldn't eat that much. I ordered one roll, my favorite here. The royal flush. It came out without the macadamia nuts. Ok, whatever right and I ordered one order of nigiri. I had 4-5 pieces of the roll left and got charged all you can eat AND for the long roll. Wth!! So way overcharged and wasn't even told or spoke to that she was going to do it. Fast forward to today. I ordered just a roll. Learned my lesson. Ordered the Bora Bora. Wrapped in cucumber and no rice. Just like eating sashimi with side of cucumber. This may be my new favorite now. There should be a menu for those who don't eat much, like a kiddie menu

First time trying this dish and it was absolutely worth it The couscous was perfectly creamy, the vegetables were fresh and beautifully buttered, and the swordfish, salmon, and shrimp originally came out grilled. The first attempt was just a little on the dry side, but what impressed me most was how quickly and professionally they fixed it. The second version came out SPECTACULAR The fish was soft, juicy, and full of flavor almost poached style with a light lemon cream and white wine sauce that tied everything together perfectly They also serve incredible in-house made sourdough bread with house-made butter, and honestly... their sourdough and clam chowder rival some of the best I've had in San Francisco. Service was perfect from beginning to end, and the beautiful ambiance with Hawaiian seascapes playing across the large TV screens made the whole experience feel relaxing and upscale at the same time. One of those meals that feels elegant while still being total comfort food 10/10 for making it right and delivering such a great dining experience.

Hannah is the best. We have come to enjoy her service. She is a great server. Very attentive to our needs. We love the restaurant and the beautiful pictures of places all over the world.

Yes I went to a seafood restaurant and ordered a steak!!

Big shout out to Jackie T. Great service- thank you. This is a beautiful restaurant and, unlike most restaurants in casinos , close to the door and parking lot so you don't have to wander around for half an hour to find it. I LOVE that. I'm allergic to shellfish but they have lots of fish choices too. For some reason I got a new York steak and am so happy- steak makes great leftovers. Good sautéed veggies that were not mushy - yay. I'll definitely be back.

Great vibe, not loud but a good conversation space. The service was always great (went 3 times). You get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to sushi. All you can eat is 37 until 3 the. 47 after 3. Each roll Is 15-17 do if you have an appetite this is your spot. The rolls were super good but the start of the show is that loaf of sourdough. Give me three of those. I recommend this place.

Due to construction in their parking lot and limited parking, we decided to dine here instead of leaving and risk not having somewhere to park upon our return. It was a Friday evening and everywhere was busy. We came by a little after 8pm and was quoted a 30-40 min wait time and I opted to be on their waitlist. Lucky for us, our wait was more like 15-20 minutes. The interior is bright & modern with 2 large screens on opposite sides that display travel destinations and locations. Seating was either in booths, at the bar, or tables with chairs. The noise level in here gets pretty loud due to the acoustics. We were seated and given menus on tablets. Water was given pretty quickly but the bread took a tad longer. Our waitress was friendly, explained the menu to us, and answered any questions we had (despite her being busy). My only critique re their AYCE is that it has one price for adults only. They don't have a separate price for children. She also kindly told me that their portions were big, so that was very helpful. I have not dined here in a number of years and their portions prior used to be smaller. Items ordered: 2x cup of clam chowder- Good flavor and plenty of clams Fish and Chips- Delicious, perfectly seasoned and battered and not dry! One of the best fish and chips I have had in a long time and it was a very pleasant surprise. Shrimp scampi- Delicious generous portion of pasta and shrimp. Chef's Mixed Grill- Loved the presentation and flavors of veggies and protein. The couscous had way too much parmesan and was literally stuck together. Def did not enjoy that texture or taste of the couscous. California Roll- I love that this roll has real crab and tastes so much better than the Ca rolls made with imitation crab. Chocolate ice cream- Always a fun treat for kiddo Thanks for the lovely dinner and atmosphere.

Love fish and chips, but their platter with the fried oyster and shrimp sets it off. Pair it with a good beverage and have a seat watching the screen of the world's images or having a good dinner companion makes this an excellent experience. Expensive Busy Sometimes order mishaps occur, but all in all an enjoyable dining experience. I have seen the Peppermills decor changes over 20+ years. The Océano is one of the best of their restaurants.

A fancy sangria $19 good but wasn't overly impressed.

What a stunning ocean theme seafood-sushi restaurant! We went for the AYCE sushi lunch $37. We definitely got our sushi fix and the options were nice mix of appetizers, nigiri and rolls. Our favs were the pork pot stickers, baked mussel, Donald Duck short roll, but everything tasted fresh and delicious. There was just one roll that was overly spicy called the James. Service was good but did take quite a while between ordering items. Would recommend.

The service here is great albeit slow. There are lots of servers and lots of hungry people. I prefer smaller traditional Japanese ambiance establishments. Yet. They do a great job. Great greet. Friendly staff. I appreciate a quick bow and smile from the sushi chef. It's the little things. I ordered a traditional cold served unfiltered saki. I requested it heated hot. Often this option isn't available They were happy to oblige, and i got a piping hot sake, which warmed my cold hands from a chili walk outside in the snow Nothing beats cuddling with your hands a hot carafe of hot sake to warm your bones I thought the seaweed salad was a bit boring. It was like everywhere everywhere else, dull. They could do better. On the other hand, I ordered the king salmon Expectations were exceeded in that the salmon was cooked perfectly quite juicy, and it was a sizable slab of flesh I appreciated the fact that the chef didn't ruin the fish with sauces and syrup or flavoring is he just left the fish virgin for me to enjoy It's delicate flavor Six stars for that I'd come back here over and over just for their seafood if it's cooked this way Why only four stars then? I've had their sushi and rolls and I found them quite uninventive and the ambience is very American rather than traditional Japanese But I will come here again and again for their fish entrées. I'll probably try the halibut next.

Went to have dinner with a few friends and decided on Oceano. Got seated pretty quickly and it was a Friday evening so that was surprising. It was busy and loud but can still have a conversation with people around. I had the all you can eat sushi. Now it is a little more pricey than other sushi restaurants around. Their sushi menu is vast so that's a plus. Not all sushi is all you can eat, some of you will have to pay extra for. The menu does specify which ones are. Service was good and our waitress was always checking in on us. For desert I got some gelato and they do give quite a bit...I was happy about that. I would come here again

The menu didn't feel very varied--it was mostly the same types of rolls (crab mostly) with different sauces. That may just be personal preference, since I tend to like shrimp rolls (either cooked or uncooked). When we arrived, we were seated in the far right corner. There were other tables nearby, but because we were a large group, it took a while for anyone to take our drink orders. We even had two separate servers come by to ask for drinks. Once we ordered sushi, that's where things really went downhill. We were split across the tables (four people per table), and although we placed our orders at the same time, half of our group didn't receive their sushi until about 30 minutes after the other part of us. It felt like the order process wasn't managed well. Customer service was also inconsistent. We had to keep asking for items we never received, like refills, and we didn't get straws. Even though the restaurant was busy, I've been to other sushi places on busy nights and never experienced service this slow. The only thing I truly liked was the appetizers. The beef teriyaki was the best thing I had--really tasty. I'd recommend that, but only if you have a lot of time to spare, because the wait for food and follow-ups was a struggle. When we tried to order dessert, it took so long for someone to come back that a few people ended up giving up and not getting dessert at all. Overall, customer service took far too long, and the sushi was just OK--not especially flavorful or memorable for me. The rolls tasted pretty similar, and I don't think I'll be returning.

We were seated quickly. Now that can be attributed to the fact that we were early for dinner. We opted for a tabled, but there were plenty of seats available at the sushi bar. We only waited for a few minutes before the first wave of fish was delivered. Throughout dinner, we never had to wait long for the sushi to be delivered. The atmosphere was decent. It felt like it was more of a storefront than a traditional restaurant. But, it was a storefront and I don't care about that. I base my rating on freshness, service and cleanliness of the store. One thing that surprised me was the Kani (crab). I ordered it wondering if it would be real crab or imitation. It was real! I was happy and surprised. I ate my fill. Actually, I ate more than my fill. Enjoyed it completely. My sushi coma was justified. So let's get the cons out of the way first. My son and I sat at the bar, and on the big screen against the wall, CNN FAKE NEWS was playing. Personally irritating, and I don't think they should be showing news shows from any side at a restaurant. We were in during lunch hours, and towards the end of our visit we were the last party there. That being said, clearing out our empty plates and getting refills wasn't very expeditious. I sat probably for about 15 minutes with an empty soda cup. I would understand if it was busy and at night. Disappointingly, lunch has its own separate menu, and you can't order dinner rolls for the lunch price, like you can at Ohana, Hinoki and other places I've been to and frequented. Now that, that's out of the way let's get to the rest of the review. I'm guessing the owners, we're super nice. We were greeted right as we walked in the door and chose our seats. Victor was our sushi chef. Great guy, and turns out some great sushi. The next time I go I will be sure to sit with him, but the other two Cooks were nice also. The entire restaurant, especially the bar area was spotless! I can tell they all take pride in what they do. My sin and I ordered probably 65% of the lunch menu. The quail egg shooters, whcih we ordered about a dozen total were SUPER good, and served in a modified Oriental soup "spoon" instead of a shot glass. Sort of awkward to eat, but doable and tasty. My personal favorite (lunch) roll was the "Crazy Dream" roll. SO many different flavor profiles. They had unique takes on some of the nigiri and appetizers, like the 'butterfly' and the tempura Jalapeno opposed to other sushi joints. So all in all, it was good enough for me to go back and give the dinner menu a try. Well slap my a** and call me Betty! Haha I have been eating all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi in Reno…read morefor over 10 years now and this is the first place I've been able to actually taste how good the fish actually is. To be clear, this is not an AYCE sushi restaurant, and there's other offerings besides sushi including ramen, salad, steaks, and various teriyaki plates. Apparently the food is hand selected by the owner, and helped prepared by the Japanese wife in the kitchen. From what I understand, the line cooks follow traditional Japanese ways including only being able to make a sushi roll after being a line cook for 5 years. As for the food itself, these are the things I've tried: -Maguro (tuna) sashimi: absolutely delightful -Sake (salmon) nigri: really good -Unagi (Eel) sashimi: my favorite nigri, the unagi was so tender it was falling apart. Best I've ever had. -Kazo sake: the combination of all the textures and flavors made this one of my top choices. Think of eating it like a deviled egg, if you're able to fit the whole thing in your mouth, you can taste all the flavors at once. If not, it's still tasty and you can taste the pieces individually! -Mt Rose roll: the textures and flavors were really good! -Fire Ocean roll: Absolutely delicious, and spicy! -Spicy garlic edamame: I wasn't impressed. No crisp on the garlic. The garlic, sweet chili sauce, and edamame felt like they were all cooked separately and combined on the serving plate. The garlic seemed like it was from a jar, and the sauce from the bottle. -Tempura banana with strawberry mochi: we devoured this, the chocolate sauce made the combination of flavors pleasant. I wish the tempura banana had a bit more going on - more crisp and less batter. -Wasabi: the wasabi actually tastes real and not like horseradish!!! It blends into the soy sauce beautifully and it's creamy. Drinks -Sapporo with the Junmai Ginjo sake: light and crisp, really yummy -Honey Citron tea- delightful Service While our service was generally pleasant, we did end up going at least 20 mins at one point without any word from our server while waiting on food. We didn't mind, and it was nice to not be rushed, but some others may want to feel more taken care of. My only slight complaint is that I didn't keep my chopsticks after dinner for our dessert, but we just ended up sharing the one pair we had. It would have been nice to be reminded to keep my chopsticks or to be offered another pair. Ambiance The space is relatively large and Miyabi expanded years ago to accommodate a larger dining area. The only slightly confusing part - I wish it was more clear which door you enter from. The only indicator is the Open sign on the left hand set of doors. All in all, I really enjoy and appreciate good quality food, and while you are paying the price for it here, it's justified. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

Sadly there were too many flies landing on my food and baby, I don't want to give them another try. The only good item I've found on their menu is the Mt Rose roll and edamame (for the black salt). The lobster roll was also a rip off; it's covered in sauce so you can't even taste the lobster.

Delivery of orders to the table were ridiculously slow. Really SLOW! Although we had four diners all ordering 'all you can eat,', they never got a single order 100% correct. Orders from different people arrived on the same plate. I have never seen that before. Quality was no more than two stars. Mussels were not properly prepared (the beards were not completely removed). Saba was okay. The best thing I ate was the Unagi, but you are limited to one order per diner (doesn't sound like AYCE to me). The restaurant - actually the wife of the owner - tried to charge us dinner prices even though we arrived 40 minutes before lunch was over. It took nearly 15 minutes before the bill was corrected (one would think that the owner's wife would have had that authority). Instead we had to endure a 'who's on first' Indian comedy routine (but it wasn't funny). And the men's restroom was out of service during our visit.
