I visited Living Green Cafe on a beautiful Saturday with my partner after deciding to swap the…read moreusual Cuban coffee for something a little healthier following a heavy Indian meal nearby. It was my first time here, and I was impressed from the moment I walked in. The lighting was dim, the vibe was just right, and I instantly felt like I was among my people. As a vegetarian, it can sometimes be hard to find a healthy cafe where you actually have plenty of options. Even though the place is currently under renovation, it didn't take away from the atmosphere at all. While ordering my beet based juice (I think it was called "Something Stiletto"), I noticed a cozy sofa that felt like home, so I grabbed a seat while my partner placed the order. My drink was a fresh pressed blend of kale, beets, cucumber, carrot, banana, apple, and lemon!! All vegan and it was absolutely delicious and filling. The price was reasonable too, which made it even better. My partner ordered tea, and we noticed they offer a wide variety of food options, from a hot station to pre made sandwiches. One thing I didn't like, though, was seeing a staff member return food (like broccoli and macaroni and cheese) back into the serving area after it appeared to have been part of someone else's order. That didn't sit right with me. As a vegetarian, cross contamination is already something I'm mindful of and beyond that, it raises concerns about food safety and allergies. Because of that, I'll likely avoid that section in the future. That aside, we ended up staying longer than expected because the space was so comfortable. People were working on laptops, having lunch, and just doing their own thing. It had a really relaxed, welcoming energy. The place was clean and organized, and while the staff seemed busy (so I didn't really experience much direct service), it wasn't an issue. Overall, I'll definitely be back. It's not always easy finding a spot with this many vegetarian friendly options and such a great atmosphere, and this place delivers on both.

All the breakfast burritos are pre made and they only have one type of bagel and it's not plain. Feels a bit odd. But I have allergies and they could barely accommodate. Opened since the 1970's and French inspired. Cute and stylish place to go. Either sit down service or take out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was quick. The latte and croissant was to die for. So many pastries to choose from that it's difficult to pick. I love the neon sign on the wall that says "Meet me by the grinds." There even was a champagne vending machine to buy small bottles. Wine bar located in the back. Attached is a beautiful floral store to buy flowers and other items. What a cozy and unique place to go. I will definitely be back next time I am in that neighborhood.

One side is the floral shop and the other side is the coffee bar. The entrance to the coffee bar where you place your order is way too small for the amount of traffic flow they have coming in and out. I felt like I was in the way no matter where I went. The employee taking our order was not the nicest and definitely was overwhelmed. This isn't a regular coffee shop where you can place your order to go and still drink your coffee or hang around. We were told If we were not eating or drinking at the coffee bar you will not be able to sit down. Ordered two iced lattes and two empanadas. Coffee was okay but the empanadas were really good!

I work nearby, so I just strolled in during my lunch break for a little midday pick-me-up. The staff is pleasant and helpful. My only suggestion is to perhaps have an allergens list for the individual baked goods. I tried to ask the staff about whether some of the treats contained nuts (in particular, the s'mores bar, and the chocolate chip cookie) as I have a peanut allergy (tree nuts are okay). There was a bit of a language barrier and the staff seemed unsure, and tried to err on the side of caution (which I appreciate). However, knowing that a s'mores bar or a chocolate chip cookie is unlikely to contain actual peanuts, I was a little frustrated because it would have been okay for me personally if it was simply that the baked goods were "processed in a factory that manufactures peanut products". Those trace amounts normally don't affect me. I feel like this was likely the case, but again, I'm glad that they just proceeded with an abundance of caution. I settled for a cheese danish even though I was really after a chocolate craving. Good on the staff for being cautious, disappointing for me that I couldn't cater to my chocolate craving. Oh well. I also ordered a Get Green smoothie, which was refreshing and delicious. The coconut water makes it super hydrating. Whether you're staying at the Del Mar hotel or just work nearby and want a little treat, this spot is a great place to stop in.

The servers name escapes me, but she was very helpful and able to recommend lots of treats. Matcha latte was a bit pricey, but worth every penny. Definitely one of if not the best Matcha latte I've had. I'm not a coffee drinker but my friend loved the pistachio latte and presentation was 10 out of 10 on all dishes. Even after a full delicious meal, I couldn't resist taking home some pastries. Brought home a crème brûlée croissant, a Nutella croissant and a crookie. The crème brûlée fell a little short, but still delicious. I had it hours later at home so it wasn't as fresh but that falls on me. my overall favorite was the crookie. We were traveling back from a vacation in the Florida Keys to Jacksonville Florida and wanted a nice spot that offered brunch on a Wednesday and my son liked the menu here for all of us. Once we found parking, we were told the wait was 15 minutes. That was fine and we chose inside as the outside seemed lovely but hot. We were seated within the given time frame but it took over 7 minutes to be greeted by a server and another 10 minutes to get drinks. That's not acceptable. As I always say, please greet your guests and get their drinks asap and things will be better if they have to wait for food. They can converse over drinks as time passes. We started with the French toast bites as an appetizer for three adults and a toddler and they were very good. For entrees, I had a Mediterranean omelet with some modifications and it was delicious! My DIL had the truffle croque madame and my son had the bacon cheeseburger. DIL loved her meal. My son thought his was average at best. My granddaughter had a smoothie which she loved. I had two adult cocktails. The summer Bellini was delicious but the smallest Bellini I have ever had. I also had the pink Bellini and it was far too sweet with a lot of purée and not much champagne and again a very small amount. Damien was very nice but often absent when we needed things. Our last trip through Fort Lauderdale was mid April and we had the new Moxie Sunday brunch and it far trumps our meal here in atmosphere, food portions, service, etc. It just seemed as if no one really cared if you stayed to dine or not.
