I've been here a few times throughout the years during an annual event and now that I no longer live in SD, this is one of my go to hotels to stay at. The bartenders are absolutely nice and they remembered us from earlier in the day and we returned at night. Now the 2-3 Stars is because of the female server. Her attitude, tone of voice and body language is a no for me. Maybe she was having a bad day.

Plastic cup of wine and menu!

I would think that a Hotel chain as Hilton would serve their wine in a wine glass, not a plastic clear cup. An expensive 9 oz. Serving of wine should be served with a more appropriate vessel. Poor job, Hilton!

Went in to the Hilton to have a happy our drink at the restaurant, but it was not open yet. So we settled for the hotel bar. As far as hotel bars go, this is a great one. Lots of seating options, all with a beautiful view of the San Diego Bay. The server was such a sweetheart. Very respectful to my elderly mother and answered all questions without being annoyed as most people in the service industry seem to be lately. A cozy place to sit and have a few happy hour drinks. Parking on the hand, outrageous! They won't valet unless you are staying at the hotel. Even then it's $60. Self parking turned out to be more expensive than advertised. We also payed at the pay station, but the gate ended up opening without entering our paid ticket. That was money thrown in the trash!

We dined in here for a quick lunch after a session in the pool. We loved the ambience and luckily got a very good table with a good view of the bay. We ordered 1) Customized Pizza : Server customized it to our needs and it came out good. 2) Bayfront Burger : Burger was thick and juicy - we had no complains- it worked ! 3) Some kind of Ceviche/Aguachille : This was ok. If I could back in time, this is one thing I wouldn't repeat. Overall - great ambience, good service and good enough food. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here but its a no brainer if you are staying at Hilton like we were.

We spent a few days at the Hilton and avoided going to the hotel restaurant until the last day when we did not have enough time to talk to the Gaslamp before heading to the airport. The Odysea does have great views of the ocean and nice high ceilings. The food was surprisingly good too. The chicken tortilla soup was very good and so was the burger. Knocking off a star for the super slow service. We had to hail the wait staff a few times to get service and the food took forever. I don't blame the wait staff, they were nice when they came, I blame whatever system they are running.

I so appreciate the fun and wonderful bartender, Jim Baird! He made a delicious margarita and was very attentive. The dish I got was delish and the view was cool. Great place to enjoy San Diego ‼

Bayfront Turkey Club -- would not have been surprised to find this was purchased at an airport corner store

Hilton really phoned it in on this restaurant. They must've decided that the food and service was just not a priority. A positive here was that we were able to pick anywhere at all that we wanted to be seated on a Tuesday at 1pm. There were only three other parties in the place. And yet, our waiter didn't come to greet us until about 15 minutes after we were seated, despite the fact that the bartender (a nice, jovial guy) informed him of our arrival. Our waiter Jorge seemed about as excited to serve us as I was to eat the Bayfront Turkey Club once I saw it, which is it say not very excited at all. He was a polite gentleman but he hardly ever came to the table and he barely acknowledged us. I literally purchased a pre-made sandwich from the airport on our way over that was multitudes better than the Bayfront Turkey Club. The bread was dry and all the toppings did not taste fresh whatsoever. The fries were good. Jorge asked if we found everything okay and we said yes because it was clear this was the level of cuisine they would be providing. As Hilton Honors members, we were thoroughly disappointed.

The food is mediocre, and they don't really honor the prep time when you order online. The fries are a bit too crispy, but I enjoyed the chopped salad. The prices are pretty high, and they automatically add a 20% tip for all orders. The Paloma was too salty for me, and there wasn't enough grapefruit taste. The server told me that they didn't receive my order online because I ordered by credit card rather than charging it to the room. It was confusing, but they ended up comping my Paloma, which was nice.

Okay, I got in early for a conference before my roommate. I came here to eat since I was hangry from the flight. I was overwhelmed by the menu and starving, so I ordered a chicken Cesar salad. It came with some weird goat cheese or something on it. Whatever it was? My body hated. Halfway through trying to eat I was about to throw up. So I had to spit the food into my napkin and just abandon ship. The egg on top also wasn't fully cooked. A runny or half cooked egg over a salad? no dice. For a 25.00 salad, this sucks.

The wings, fried pickles and truffle fries were good. The fried pickles and truffle fries are large enough to share. Good place in the Hilton to grab a quick bite with a view of the bay. Service can be a little more attentive or provide a bigger cup of water. It was never refilled. Salty bar food required more water if one doesn't order beer at 2 pm on a Monday afternoon.

Great spot for breakfast and a view! We had an AWESOME server, I believe his name was Daniel. Such a great guy! Loved the drinks and the steak breakfast burrito was so good. Next time we stay at this Hilton Bayfront we will be sure to try their lunch or dinner!

Came here last week for dinner while staying at the Hilton Bay Front Hotel. Overall great experience...I was so hungry when I arrived and not sure if it was my look on my face LOL. The bartender/waiter came right over based on our eye contact. Anyway I was ready to get down to business and knew what I wanted. I chose the bacon burger with fries and washed down with a glass of the house Cabernet. The only downgrade was the overcooked hamburger. The flavor and taste was delicious and so were the fries. I didn't ask for them but loved the well down fries. Either way great food, great service and quick service made this a very pleasurable experience for one starving person.

Started with the Mango Shrimp Ceviche and it was 10/10. Fresh shrimp, good flavor and balance of sweetness & citrus... but what stood out the most was their delicious fried tortillas that came with it... never had such a satisfying crunch from a tortilla! The spicy chicken sandwich was one of the best we've had in San Diego. DEFINITELY coming back for it. The tacos were mid, though. Not much flavor and the carne asada tacos didn't have much to them, meat was a bit dry and could've used more toppings or sauce of some sort. One of our blackened fish tacos came extremely close to completely raw and we sent it back. They didn't apologize or anything but just brought one fresh one that was cooked. That's the only reason for my four star rating. Our waiters were extremely nice though, I do think they are still figuring things out as we sat for twenty minutes waiting for a server because they didn't know whose table it was. It wasn't busy at all at that time. Overall, absolutely coming back for the drinks, views, and that DELISHHH chicken sandwich!!

Instead of checking on my well-being or ensuring the aggressor had left the premises, security targeted and chased me as if I were the problem. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous for a business's security team to lack the basic situational awareness and training required to identify the actual victim in a situation. I felt entirely unprotected by the staff here. I hope management takes this as a serious sign that their security team needs immediate retraining on bystander intervention and de-escalation, rather than harassing women who are already in vulnerable situations.

As soon as I asked about changing to a bigger table, we were accommodated no questions asked. Now that we're comfy in a bigger space, we started ordering drinks. Unfortunately my alcoholic beverage wasn't very alcoholic lol, however, we ended up with a free alcoholic drink since the server delivered one to the wrong table. They also missed delivering a coke for someone at our table for most of the dinner. While I make mention of these things, I'm not saying we had a negative experience. Our server was phenomenal, he even massaged my mother's arm when she complained about her fingers locking up. His service really was everything. Because the food... hmmm... Some of us started with a wedge salad which is easily enough for 2 people and very good. I shared a 28 oz ribeye with hubby, and it was decent, not great, but it didn't suck. Would a pay $115 for that again, no. We also ordered just about every type of potato on the menu, mashed, tater tots and hasbrowns. They were out of the hashbrowns which i was really looking forward to trying. The mashed were AMAZING!!! Even better than my own. Very buttery and smooth with hints of citrus (according to someone else, I didn't taste citrus). The tater tots, also very good. The sauce they came with was spicy, but a good accompaniment. In addition to most of the potatoes, we also ordered all the mac and cheese. Before I review this, I am admittedly hard on restaurant mac and cheese. It's almost always more of a mac soup with hints of cheese and cheese on top. These mac's are similar, except they are garlic heavy. Now while I understand the rest of the world loves garlic and wants it infused in everything, GARLIC DOES NOT GO IN EVERYTHING. Mac and cheese should carry a cheese flavor, be cheesy enough to get some cheese pulls and not be bland. The not bland part really only requires salt and pepper. IDC IDC, if you are making mac with onion, garlic or any other powder, it's not being done right. They then finished us off with some chocolate cake and a piece of cheesecake to celebrate my husband, both were good. My only other issue, I can't help but compare this to Mastros. The prices are similar (STK is more expensive with some of the items) but the quality is not. One thing I missed that we get at Mastros is having all of our leftovers boxed up by the staff and brought to you in cute little bags. All in all though, it was a cool experience. I won't rush to do it again, but will probably be back. One last note, be sure to ask what comes on/in things if you have allergies or dislikes. They do not list out all ingredients on the menu.
