I've been here a few times now and it has never disappointed me. In the past, I've tried their fries which were pretty good. Their prices are as expected for a great hotel it is inside the Hilton Bayfront. This Lounge is very spacious and open. The bar is in the middle with seating all around it. It has different types of seating from high tables, small tables to much larger ones and bar seating. It's always very super clean and cozy. The service is spectacular. Everyone is on it meaning constantly checking in. The staff is very nice and helpful. The DRINKS are DELICIOUS! We ordered off their Comic Con Menu and these drinks were good and strong I may add. The cocktails were $18 to $20 bucks which can be a bit pricy for some, but one perfect to relax from all the Comic Con Madness. read more

We visited Odysea Waterfront Lounge every night during our stay because the patio was dog-friendly, making it the perfect place to relax with our pups. We enjoyed a couple of drinks and appetizers each evening, and everything we tried was delicious. The view was beautiful too! A special shoutout to Michele, our server. She was incredibly warm, attentive, and impressively fast. Her customer service was some of the best we've experienced in a long time and truly made each visit enjoyable. Odysea is a waterfront bar and lounge located inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. I looove anything waterfront so I was excited about this lounge. It also had a Comic-Con themed menu which I wanted to try in the spirit of everything Comic-Con. I did go but to my dismay the waitress was slacking on the service plus she forgot to add something I ordered and I had to go when she realized it. I am not sure what we had here for Fourth of July, but it was delicious, far better than the overpriced and nasty as heck food at the restaurant we went to (also on site ) that was fancy but memorable , in how bad the food was for every one at the table. This lounge is located inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, on the opposite end of the check-in desk. Food bites and cocktails are served here. There's a fantastic view of the San Diego Bay from the bar and you can further wander out onto the terrace for better, unobstructed views. We just dropped by for a few cocktails while waiting for our room to be ready. I got a gin and tonic; fairly straightforward and refreshing. THE PARKING. $45 self parking and $60 for valet parking. In either scenario, it's pricey. You can park at other parking garages around the area for a bit less, but then you miss out on feeling semi-fancy for parking in the hotel's parking garage. THE RETURN? I loved the view and would come back for cocktails and maybe try some of their small food bites. read more

I've been here a few times throughout the years during an annual event and now that I no longer live in SD, this is one of my go to hotels to stay at. The bartenders are absolutely nice and they remembered us from earlier in the day and we returned at night. Now the 2-3 Stars is because of the female server. Went in to the Hilton to have a happy our drink at the restaurant, but it was not open yet. So we settled for the hotel bar. As far as hotel bars go, this is a great one. Lots of seating options, all with a beautiful view of the San Diego Bay. The server was such a sweetheart. Very respectful to my elderly mother and answered all questions without being annoyed as most people in the service industry seem to be lately. A cozy place to sit and have a few happy hour drinks. Parking on the hand, outrageous! They won't valet unless you are staying at the hotel. Even then it's $60. Self parking turned out to be more expensive than advertised. Knocking off a star for the super slow service. We had to hail the wait staff a few times to get service and the food took forever. Hilton really phoned it in on this restaurant. They must've decided that the food and service was just not a priority. A positive here was that we were able to pick anywhere at all that we wanted to be seated on a Tuesday at 1pm. There were only three other parties in the place. And yet, our waiter didn't come to greet us until about 15 minutes after we were seated, despite the fact that the bartender (a nice, jovial guy) informed him of our arrival. Our waiter Jorge seemed about as excited to serve us as I was to eat the Bayfront Turkey Club once I saw it, which is it say not very excited at all. He was a polite gentleman but he hardly ever came to the table and he barely acknowledged us. I literally purchased a pre-made sandwich from the airport on our way over that was multitudes better than the Bayfront Turkey Club. The bread was dry and all the toppings did not taste fresh whatsoever. The fries were good. Jorge asked if we found everything okay and we said yes because it was clear this was the level of cuisine they would be providing. Even though this place is near the Gaslamp, it's somewhat isolated in the Convention Center bubble. 3 hour valdation for restaurant guests is an important perk considering that there is literally zero street parking outside. The combination of this bay front isolation and the Convention Center economy means that most visitors are either in "resort mindset" or expensing everything. As a result, the pricing is not like you'll see anywhere else in town. I hope that it will be a long time before I play $11 for a single can of craft beer. I will say that my $15 Chopped Salad was reasonably priced and delicious. I came late to be seated with a group of 8 or so. What I didn't notice until the light of the next day was that even with separate checks, each of us had an 18% Gratuity discreetely included in a single line in the upper half of the bill. No one said a word when I added 15% on top of that! I guess I should be mindful about how so many in the service industry got furloughed in the worst part of COVID, but the lack of transparency on top of inflated pricing still bothers me. Came here last week for dinner while staying at the Hilton Bay Front Hotel. Overall great experience...I was so hungry when I arrived and not sure if it was my look on my face LOL. The bartender/waiter came right over based on our eye contact. Anyway I was ready to get down to business and knew what I wanted. I chose the bacon burger with fries and washed down with a glass of the house Cabernet. The only downgrade was the overcooked hamburger. The flavor and taste was delicious and so were the fries. Disclaimer: we only ate here for breakfast. As a part of our stay, we had a daily $15 credit to spend here so we thought we'd try it for breakfast after our first night. We had avocado toast and a breakfast sandwich that were bland and tasteless. The avocado spread was definitely not fresh (come on...we're in San Diego) and the breakfast sandwich resembled cold cuts with old lettuce and tomatoes on a hamburger bun. The kicker is they add a 20% gratuity without warning - so no need to tip extra on your bill! Subtracting out the $15 credit, we still paid $48 for those two items (tip included). It's convenient, but literally go to any other cafe that's walkable from the hotel for a better (and cheaper) meal. read more

Our room at the Hilton was being cleaned, so my husband and I decided to get a snack here around 6 pm. We came here on New Year's Day and there were only about 5 people in the restaurant. I ordered a Coke and my husband ordered a Heineken but then told the waiter he wanted the beer they have on tap. He gave me a Coke but gave my husband a Heineken. We also ordered a tuna tartare that took FOREVER! We waited for about about 45 minutes until we asked the waiter what was taking so long. It turned out that the cook downstairs never got our order. The waiter went on and on how sorry he was and how he doesn't know how it happened blah blah blah... He didn't charge us for the tuna tartare and he gave my husband another Heineken for free so our bill came to $3.00. Awesome! I'll give them 2 stars for that. The tuna tartare wasn't bad at all, so I'll give them 1 extra star for that. It was in a cute glass container with pears, olive oil, and some kind of vegetable. The chips it came with were good, too. We looked at the menu and we all wanted to get burgers, lobster rolls, and a pretzel. I didn't taste the burger or pretzel as I ordered the lobster roll. The lobster roll came with a side of fries. I didn't care for the lobster roll much. The bread was a half a slice of bread folded in half and the lobster was cold. I was expecting a hot sandwich. I was disappointed, but decided to eat all the lobster since it was almost $20. The fries were delicious. I would have ordered a basket of those! Service was great. They have great service. At one point I put my sunglasses on (inside) because the sun was so bright through the windows as it was setting.
