Odysea is a waterfront bar and lounge located inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. I looove anything waterfront so I was excited about this lounge. It also had a Comic-Con themed menu which I wanted to try in the spirit of everything Comic-Con. I did go but to my dismay the waitress was slacking on the service plus she forgot to add something I ordered and I had to go when she realized it. I was really really hoping to have a positive experience.

Odysea lounge. They serve food bites and cocktails.

This lounge is located inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, on the opposite end of the check-in desk. Food bites and cocktails are served here. There's a fantastic view of the San Diego Bay from the bar and you can further wander out onto the terrace for better, unobstructed views. We just dropped by for a few cocktails while waiting for our room to be ready. I got a gin and tonic; fairly straightforward and refreshing. THE PARKING. $45 self parking and $60 for valet parking. In either scenario, it's pricey. You can park at other parking garages around the area for a bit less, but then you miss out on feeling semi-fancy for parking in the hotel's parking garage. THE RETURN? I loved the view and would come back for cocktails and maybe try some of their small food bites.

I've been here a few times throughout the years during an annual event and now that I no longer live in SD, this is one of my go to hotels to stay at. The bartenders are absolutely nice and they remembered us from earlier in the day and we returned at night. Now the 2-3 Stars is because of the female server. Her attitude, tone of voice and body language is a no for me. Maybe she was having a bad day.

I got the crudite and they hooked me up with the amount of veggies and hummus! bartenders were very friendly and attentive. overall good experience and would go back.

Plastic cup of wine and menu!

I would think that a Hotel chain as Hilton would serve their wine in a wine glass, not a plastic clear cup. An expensive 9 oz. Serving of wine should be served with a more appropriate vessel. Poor job, Hilton!

Went in to the Hilton to have a happy our drink at the restaurant, but it was not open yet. So we settled for the hotel bar. As far as hotel bars go, this is a great one. Lots of seating options, all with a beautiful view of the San Diego Bay. The server was such a sweetheart. Very respectful to my elderly mother and answered all questions without being annoyed as most people in the service industry seem to be lately. A cozy place to sit and have a few happy hour drinks. Parking on the hand, outrageous! They won't valet unless you are staying at the hotel. Even then it's $60. Self parking turned out to be more expensive than advertised. We also payed at the pay station, but the gate ended up opening without entering our paid ticket. That was money thrown in the trash!

Bayfront Burger, Custom Pizza , Ceviche/Aguachile (forgot what this was called)

We dined in here for a quick lunch after a session in the pool. We loved the ambience and luckily got a very good table with a good view of the bay. We ordered 1) Customized Pizza : Server customized it to our needs and it came out good. 2) Bayfront Burger : Burger was thick and juicy - we had no complains- it worked ! 3) Some kind of Ceviche/Aguachille : This was ok. If I could back in time, this is one thing I wouldn't repeat. Overall - great ambience, good service and good enough food. I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here but its a no brainer if you are staying at Hilton like we were.

We spent a few days at the Hilton and avoided going to the hotel restaurant until the last day when we did not have enough time to talk to the Gaslamp before heading to the airport. The Odysea does have great views of the ocean and nice high ceilings. The food was surprisingly good too. The chicken tortilla soup was very good and so was the burger. Knocking off a star for the super slow service. We had to hail the wait staff a few times to get service and the food took forever. I don't blame the wait staff, they were nice when they came, I blame whatever system they are running.

I so appreciate the fun and wonderful bartender, Jim Baird! He made a delicious margarita and was very attentive. The dish I got was delish and the view was cool. Great place to enjoy San Diego ‼

Bayfront Turkey Club -- would not have been surprised to find this was purchased at an airport corner store

Hilton really phoned it in on this restaurant. They must've decided that the food and service was just not a priority. A positive here was that we were able to pick anywhere at all that we wanted to be seated on a Tuesday at 1pm. There were only three other parties in the place. And yet, our waiter didn't come to greet us until about 15 minutes after we were seated, despite the fact that the bartender (a nice, jovial guy) informed him of our arrival. Our waiter Jorge seemed about as excited to serve us as I was to eat the Bayfront Turkey Club once I saw it, which is it say not very excited at all. He was a polite gentleman but he hardly ever came to the table and he barely acknowledged us. I literally purchased a pre-made sandwich from the airport on our way over that was multitudes better than the Bayfront Turkey Club. The bread was dry and all the toppings did not taste fresh whatsoever. The fries were good. Jorge asked if we found everything okay and we said yes because it was clear this was the level of cuisine they would be providing. As Hilton Honors members, we were thoroughly disappointed.

The food is mediocre, and they don't really honor the prep time when you order online. The fries are a bit too crispy, but I enjoyed the chopped salad. The prices are pretty high, and they automatically add a 20% tip for all orders. The Paloma was too salty for me, and there wasn't enough grapefruit taste. The server told me that they didn't receive my order online because I ordered by credit card rather than charging it to the room. It was confusing, but they ended up comping my Paloma, which was nice.

Okay, I got in early for a conference before my roommate. I came here to eat since I was hangry from the flight. I was overwhelmed by the menu and starving, so I ordered a chicken Cesar salad. It came with some weird goat cheese or something on it. Whatever it was? My body hated. Halfway through trying to eat I was about to throw up. So I had to spit the food into my napkin and just abandon ship. The egg on top also wasn't fully cooked. A runny or half cooked egg over a salad? no dice. For a 25.00 salad, this sucks.

So she made me a margarita and it was really good. The tequila goes very well with cocktails. I then realize it was bartender that was in the video with him. She was very nice and the price was very reasonable for a rooftop bar. Couple funny things I met a couple guys from Boston as well who sat right next to me. We were kinda shocked that they had the heaters on as it wasn't that cold. At least for us lol. Again for a Friday I was shocked it was not packed. We ordered a Caesar salad, wings and carnitas quesidilla ($20 - not pictured). First of all, the salad was nice and tart from the dressing. It woke up my taste buds and provided some roughage. Unfortunately, the wings were a miss. They were baked vs fried, and the texture combined with the sourness of the tamarind didn't go well together. Lastly, the quesadilla was big and packed with meat. I had 1/4 of it and I was stuffed. Felix & Nia took great care of us. They were attentive and friendly. The ambiance was very nice on a warm summer night, and you can see Petco Park (where the Padres play). I would stop by Borrego, even though I would never stay at the hotel again. The food is very good, and the service is friendly & warm.

It has been a couple years since our last visit, and boy, am I disappointed by our experience last weekend. The view and service were still good, but the signs of neglect were hard to ignore. The chairs and tables look worn. The rust on the light fixtures was obvious. It used to be packed on any given night, but now half the tables were empty with "reserved" sign on them, even at 7pm on a Saturday night. We wanted to switch to a different table because the setting sun was glaring directly into our eyes, but we were denied. Why anyone decided to orient majority of the tables such a way, instead of rotating the tables 90 degrees so the sun hits the profile rather than head on, is beyond me. Lastly, and the most unforgiveable thing, the drinks were horrible for this price point at $45 for 2 drinks including tax and tip. Husband got Tickle My Pickle, and the name was the best of part about it. It read like a dirty martini, but tasted like straight up pickle brine. I got Shanghai Nights, which was watery, and the coconut foam added nothing to the drink except a mess, since the server sloshed it everywhere on the table. Basically both drinks were good in conception but the execution was very imbalanced. We originally planned to get some snacks and 2 drinks each while waiting for our 9pm dinner reservation elsewhere, but left immediately after the first drinks. Unlikely to return.
